1A preliminary investigation on the occurrence and distribution of antibiotic resistance genes in the Beijiang River, South China显示文摘The occurrence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) was investigated and quantified in 20 water samples collected in the Beijiang River, South China. Sulfonamide- and tetracycline-resistant bacteria were present in 17 and 14 of the collected 20 samples. For sulfonamide ARGs, sulI and sulII were frequently observed in the Beijiang River. The levels of sulI were higher than sulII (p < 0.05), with the mean values of (1.41 ± 1.12) × 10-2 and (1.58 ± 1.71) × 10-3 copies/16S rDNA, respectively. For tetracycline ARGs, tetG had the highest frequency, 100%, followed by tetA (85%), tetO (85%), tetC (70%), tetX (60%), tetM (40%) and tetQ (20%), while tetE and tetS were not detected in all the samples from the Beijiang River. On the other hand, tetC had the highest concentration, ranging from 8.30 × 10-2 to 13.20 copies/16S rDNA. The poor correlation between ARGs and antibiotic concentrations revealed that the self-amplification and persistence of ARGs were the reasons that made ARGs exist in the water environment even though the antibiotic selecting pressure was absent. 2Blockade of Tim-3 Pathway Ameliorates Interferon-γ Production from Hepatic CD8^+ T Cells in a Mouse Model of Hepatitis B Virus Infection显示文摘T cell immunoglobulin-and mucin-domain-containing molecule-3(Tim-3) has been reported to participate in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. However,whether Tim-3 is involved in hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection remains unknown. Here,we studied the expression and function of Tim-3 in a hydrodynamics-based mouse model of HBV infection. A significant increase of Tim-3 expression on hepatic T lymphocytes,especially on CD8+ T cells,was demonstrated in HBV model mice from day 7 to day 18. After Tim-3 knockdown by specific shRNAs,significantly increased IFN-γ production from hepatic CD8+ T cells in HBV model mice was observed. Very interestingly,we found Tim-3 expression on CD8+ T cells was higher in HBV model mice with higher serum anti-HBs production. Moreover,Tim-3 knockdown influenced anti-HBs production in vivo. 9The Influence of Diabetes, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia on the Onset of Age-Related Macular Degeneration in North China: The Kailuan Eye Study显示文摘Objective To analyze the prevalence of dry and wet age-related macular degeneration(AMD)in patients with diabetes,hypertension and hyperlipidemia,and to analyze the risk factors for AMD.Methods A population-based cross-sectional epidemiologic study was conducted involving 14,440 individuals.We assessed the prevalence of dry and wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic subjects and analyzed the risk factors for AMD.Results The prevalence of wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic patients was 0.3%and 0.5%,respectively,and the prevalence of dry AMD was 17%and 16.4%,respectively.The prevalence of wet AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 0.5%,0.3%,0.2%,and 0.7%,respectively.The prevalence of dry AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 16.6%,16.2%,15.2%,and 17.2%,respectively.Age,sex,body mass index,and use of hypoglycemic drugs or lowering blood pressure drugs were corrected in the risk factor analysis of AMD.Diabetes,diabetes/hypertension,diabetes/hyperlipidemia,and diabetes/hypertension/hyperlipidemia were analyzed.None of the factors analyzed in the current study increased the risk for the onset of AMD.Conclusion There was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among diabetic and non-diabetic subjects.Similarly,there was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among subjects with hypertension and hyperlipidemia.Diabetes co-existing with hypertension and hyperlipidemia were not shown to be risk factors for the onset of dry AMD.ZHANG Yong Peng WANG Ya Xing ZHOU Jin Qiong WANG Qian YAN Yan Ni YANG Xuan YANG Jing Yan ZHOU Wen Jia WANG Ping SHEN Chang YANG Ming LUAN Ya Nan WANG Jin Yuan WU Shou Ling CHEN Shuo Hua WANG Hai Wei FANG Li Jian WAN Qian Qian ZHU Jing Yuan NIE Zi Han CHEN Yu Ning XIE Ying JONAS JB WEI Wen Bin 2022Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2022,35,7:2
10Cyclic Shearing Deformation Behavior of Saturated Clays显示文摘The apparatus for static and dynamic universal triaxial and torsional shear soil testing is employed to perform stress-controlled cyclic single-direction torsional shear tests and two-direction coupled shear tests under unconsolidated-undrained conditions. Through a series of tests on saturated clay, the effects of initial shear stress and stress reversal on the clay’s strain-stress behavior are examined, and the behavior of pore water pressure is studied. The experimental results indicate that the patterns of stress-strain relations are distinctly influenced by the initial shear stress in the cyclic single-direction shear tests. When the initial shear stress is large and no stress reversal occurs, the predominant deformation behavior is characterized by an accumulative effect. When the initial shear stress is zero and symmetrical cyclic stress occurs, the predominant deformation behavior is characterized by a cyclic effect. The pore water pressure fluctuates around the confining pressure with the increase of cycle number. It seems that the fluctuating amplitude increases with the increase of the cyclic stress. But a buildup of pore water pressure does not occur. The de- formations of clay samples under the complex initial and the cyclic coupled stress conditions include the normal deviatoric deforma- tion and horizontal shear deformation, the average deformation and cyclic deformation. 11Study on gas–liquid flow characteristics in stirred tank with dual-impeller based on CFD-PBM coupled model显示文摘Study on gas–liquid flow in stirred tank with two combinations of dual-impeller(six-bent-bladed turbine(6BT)+six-inclined-blade down-pumping turbine(6 ITD),the six-bent-bladed turbine(6BT)+six-inclinedblade up-pumping turbine(6ITU))was conducted using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)and population balance model(PBM)(CFD-PBM)coupled model.The local bubble size was captured by particle image velocimetry(PIV)measurement.The gas holdup,bubble size distribution and gas–liquid interfacial area were explored at different conditions through numerical simulation.The results showed that the 4 mm bubbles accounted for the largest proportion of 33%at the gas flow rates Q=0.76 m^(3)·h^(-1) and 22%at Q=1.52 m^(3)·h^(-1) for combined impeller of 6BT+6ITU,while the bubbles of 4.7 mm and 5.5 mm were the largest proportion for 6BT+6ITD combination,i.e.25%at Q=0.76 m^(3)·h^(-1) and 22%at Q=1.52 m^(3)·h^(-1),respectively,which indicated that 6BT+6ITU could reduce bubble size effectively and promote gas dispersion.In addition,the gas holdup around impellers was increased obviously with the speed compared with gas flow rate.So it was concluded that 6ITU impeller could be more conductive to the bubble dispersion with more uniform bubble size,which embodied the advantages of 6BT+6ITU combination in gas–liquid mixing.Songsong Wang Qiuxiang Bu Deyu Luan Ying Zhang Longbin Li Zhaorui Wang Wenhao Shi 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,10:2
12Endovascular stent-grafts for acute and chronic type B aortic dissection: comparison of clinical outcomes显示文摘Objective To evaluate the early and mid-term results of endovascular repair for acute and chronic type B aortic dissection, and to compare the clinical outcomes between the 2 groups. Methods From May 2002 to December 2006, 50 patients with type B aortic dissection were treated by endovascular stent-graft. There were 23 patients in the acute aortic dissection (AAD) group and 27 patients in the chronic aortic dissection (CAD) group. All patients were followed up from 1 to 54 months (average, 17±16 months).The immediate and follow-up clinical outcomes were documented and compared between the 2 groups. Results Placement of endovascular stent-grafts across the primary entry tears was technically successful in all 50 patients. Compared to the CAD group, the AAD group had a higher percentage of pleural effusion (17.4% vs. 0%, P=0.04) and visceral /leg ischemia (26.1% vs 3.7%, P=0.04). Procedure related complications, including endoleak and post-implantation syndrome, occurred more frequently in the AAD group than in the CAD group (21.7% vs 3.7% and 30.4% vs 11.1%, respectively; P=0.08 and P=0.04). Kaplan–Meier analysis showed no difference in the survival rate at 4 years between the 2 groups (86.4% vs 92.3%, P=0.42 by log-rank test). However, the event-free survival rate was higher in patients with chronic dissection than in patients with acute aortic dissection(96.2% vs 73.9%; P=0.02 by log-rank test). Conclu- sions Endovascular repair with stent-graft was safe and effective for the treatment of both acute and chronic type B aortic dissection. 15FERONIA is involved in phototropin 1-mediated blue light phototropic growth in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plant shoot phototropism is triggered by the formation of a light-driven auxin gradient leading to bending growth.The blue light receptor phototropin 1(phot1)senses light direction,but how this leads to auxin gradient formation and growth regulation remains poorly understood.Previous studies have suggested phot1’s role for regulated apoplastic acidification,but its relation to phototropin and hypocotyl phototropism is unclear.Herein,we show that blue light can cause phot1 to interact with and phosphorylate FERONIA(FER),a known cell growth regulator,and trigger downstream phototropic bending growth in Arabidopsis hypocotyls.fer mutants showed defects in phototropic growth,similar to phot1/2 mutant.FER also interacts with and phosphorylates phytochrome kinase substrates,the phot1 downstream substrates.The phot1-FER pathway acts upstream of apoplastic acidification and the auxin gradient formation in hypocotyl under lateral blue light,both of which are critical for phototropic bending growth in hypocotyls.Our study highlights a pivotal role of FER in the phot1-mediated phototropic cell growth regulation in plants.Chiyu Li Jia Chen Xiaoyan Li Xin Zhang Ying Liu Sirui Zhu Long Wang Heping Zheng Sheng Luan Jiada Li Feng Yu 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,10:1

19Versatile Electrospinning for Structural Designs and Ionic Conductor Orientation in All-Solid-State Lithium Batteries显示文摘Recent advances in next-generation energy storage devices have focused on flexible and wearable all-solid-state lithium batteries(ASSLBs),mainly because of their advantages in terms of safety and extensive applications.Among various tech-nologies for the preparation of flexible electrodes,electrospinning is a straightforward operation and cost-effective mean for the facile fabrication of flexible nanofibers and the versatile design of nanofiber structure.Herein,current technologies for engineering electrospun nanofiber structures and their state-of-the-art implementation in flexible ASSLBs are reviewed.First,current strategies for nanofiber structural design,including advances in high-specific surface area,superior mechanical flexibility,and various nanostructures,are systematically discussed.Subsequently,the utilization of electrospun nanofibers in ASSLBs is reviewed.Electrospinning of flexible and highly ion-conductive solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)is emphasized,and current nanofiber structural designs for SSEs and electrodes for ASSLBs are introduced.Despite these advances,there have not been enough studies of the integration of versatile electrospinning techniques in nanofiber structural design for both SSEs and electrodes.In the final section,promising pathways to implement versatile electrospinning in flexible ASSLBs with superior electrochemical performance and stable cycling properties are discussed.Thus,this review provides a holistic overview of the state of the art of electrospinning for high-performance flexible ASSLBs,which could safely power next-generation flexible devices.Qiang Li Xiao Sun Daxian Cao Ying Wang Pengcheng Luan Hongli Zhu 2022Electrochemical Energy Reviews2022,5,4:1
