1Effectiveness of Catch-Up Vaccinations after COVID-19 Containment--China,2020显示文摘Introduction:In the early stages of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic in China,the highest level of public health emergency response(Level 1 Response)was launched in all province-level administrative divisions(PLADs)across the country.Provision of vaccination services was selectively suspended due to the physical distancing and gathering restrictions required of Level 1 Response.The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on vaccination services and the effectiveness of selective vaccination service suspension and catch-up vaccinations in China.Methods:Vaccine doses administered,routine vaccination coverage levels,catch-up vaccine doses administered,and coverage levels after the catch-up campaign were determined from individual vaccination records in sampled clinics,standard routine immunization administrative coverage reports,and catch-up vaccination activity reports submitted by PLADs between October 2019 and October 2020.Results:National Immunization Program(NIP)and non-NIP vaccine doses administered in sampled clinics decreased by 80% and 90%,respectively,compared with doses administered before the COVID-19 pandemic.Coverage with the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine(HepB1)and the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine(BCG)—two vaccinations recommended to continue throughout the epidemic due to their timecritical nature—were maintained at over 85%,while coverage of other NIP vaccines decreased to below 60%by February 2020.Catch-up vaccination coverage of the 29 PLADs,excluding Xinjiang and Xizang(Tibet),began in April 2020 and exceeded 90%;Hubei catch-up coverage was 95% by October 2020.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:The COVID-19 pandemic had a great impact on China’s vaccination services.During the epidemic and time of local transmission of the coronavirus,HepB1,BCG,rabies vaccine for postexposure prophylaxis,and tetanus antitoxin(TAT)for wound prophylaxis were maintained at high levels.Of the 69 million vaccine doses postponed during the time of local transmission of the coronavirus,94% were administered in the catch-up campaign.China’s pandemic immunization practices may provide evidence for other countries’immunization programs.Jing Wu Wenzhou Yu Lei Cao Lingsheng Cao Lance Rodewald Jiakai Ye Yifan Song Li Li Xiaoxue Liu Ning Wen Fuzhen Wang Lixin Hao Yixing Li Hui Zheng Keli Li Chao Ma Dan Wu Yanmin Liu Guomin Zhang Zhijie An Huaqing Wang Zundong Yin 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,50:6

8Efficacy and safety of S-1 based adjuvant chemoradiotherapy for resected pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with high-risk pathological feature: a prospective, single-arm, interventional study显示文摘Objective: It remains unclear whether adjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT) improves survival outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients after surgery. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of tegafur/gimeracil/oteracil (S-1)-based adjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy in resected PDAC patients with defined high-risk pathological features.Methods: We conducted a single-arm, prospective, and interventional study at Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University from December 2012 to December 2019 and the last follow-up was conducted in December 2021. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University on December 27, 2012 (approval No. B2012-139). Resected PDAC patients with high-risk pathological features, including positive resection margin, pathological T3-4N1-2M0 disease, peripancreatic fat invasion, microvascular invasion, and perineural invasion, were recruited. Primary endpoint was overall survival and secondary endpoints were disease-free survival, treatment toxicity, and 2-, 5-year survival rates.Results: A total of 54 patients were recruited. Mean age was 63.6 years old (±7.2). The distribution of T and N stages were 24.1% for T1, 46.3% for T2, 27.8% for T3, 1.9% for T4, 33.3% for N1, and 11.1% for N2. Seven patients had R1 resection. The median overall survival and disease-free survival were 27.1 and 13.7 months, respectively, while no fatal adverse events were recorded. Subgroup analyses showed differences in survival outcomes among patients with microvascular invasion, different N stages, and preoperative CA 19-9 levels. 13Optimization of the Open Degree of Key Valves Based on Relative Entropy and Pipeline Leakage显示文摘Based on information entropy theory, the definition of relative entropy, and the relative entropy minimum principle, this study establishes a multi-objective optimization model for a key valve opening of an urban water distribution network(WDN). Each node pressure is taken as the main research object to reduce pipeline leakage. Moreover, genetic algorithm is applied in the proposed model to solve the key valve opening of the actual WDN in a city in southern China. 15Stiffness and toughness of soft/stiff suture joints in biological composites显示文摘Biological composites can overcome the conflict between strength and toughness to achieve unprecedented mechanical properties in engineering materials.The suture joint,as a kind of heterogeneous architecture widely existing in biological tissues,is crucial to connect dissimilar components and to attain a tradeoff of all-sided functional performances.Therefore,the suture joints have attracted many researchers to theoretically investigate their mechanical response.However,most of the previous models focus on the sutural interface between two chemically similar stiff phases with(or without)a thin adhesive layer,which are under the framework of linear elasticity and small deformation.Here,a general model based on the finite deformation framework is proposed to explore the stiffness and toughness of chemically dissimilar suture joints connecting soft and stiff phases.Uniaxial tension tests are conducted to investigate the tensile response of the suture joints,and finite element simulations are implemented to explore the underlying mechanisms,considering both material nonlinearity and cohesive properties of the interface.Two failure modes are quantitively captured by our model.The stored elastic energy in the soft phase competes with the energy dissipation due to the interface debonding,which controls the transition among different failure modes.The toughness of the suture joints depends on not only the intrinsic strengths of the constituent materials and their cohesive strength,but also the interfacial geometry.This work provides the structureproperty relationships of the soft/stiff suture joints and gives a foundational guidance of mechanical design towards high-performance bioinspired composites.Dong WU Yixing HUANG Ming LEI Zeang ZHAO Xiaogang GUO Daining FANG 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,10:0
16Positive sputum culture of Candida spp.as a risk factor for 30-day mortality in patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia:A propensity-score matched retrospective clinical study显示文摘Background:Candida species(Candida spp.)are commonly isolated microorganisms from lower respiratory tract(LRT)specimens of patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia(HAP);however,the clinical significance remains controversial.This study aimed to investigate the correlation between Candida spp.in the LRT and the clinical features and prognosis of HAP.Methods:This retrospective analysis included eligible patients with HAP from the database of a prospective study carried out between 2018 and 2019 in nine Chinese hospitals.Data on demographics,clinical characteristics,and prognosis were collected and analyzed.Propensity score matching(PSM)was used to balance the baseline characteristics.Results:A total of 187 HAP patients were enrolled.After PSM of severity score,27 cases with positive sputum culture of Candida spp.were compared with the control group at a ratio of 1:1.The Candida-positive group had more bacterial isolates in blood culture than the Candida-negative group(39.1%[9/23]vs.7.7%[2/26],χ^(2)=6.928,effect size[ES]=0.38,95%CI:0.12-0.61,P=0.008).The proportion of patients with chronic lung diseases was significantly higher in the Candida-positive group(55.6%[15/27]vs.22.2%[6/27],χ^(2)=6.312,ES=0.34,95%CI:0.07-0.59,P=0.012).The 30-day prognosis of HAP was significantly different between the two groups(80.8%[21/26]vs.38.5%[10/26],χ^(2)=9.665,ES=0.43,95%CI:0.19-0.66,P=0.002).Univariable logistic regression analysis showed that LRT Candida spp.colonization was a risk factor for 30-day mortality of HAP(OR=6.720,95%CI:1.915-23.577,P=0.003).Conclusions:Candida spp.in the LRT was associated with 30-day mortality of HAP.Patients with chronic under-lying lung diseases tend to have Candida spp.colonization.Yaopin Han Yihui Zuo Zhe Luo Minjie Ju Jianlan Hua Binfeng He Yixing Wu Jing Zhang 2023Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,2:0

18Traditional Chinese Medicine constitution among patients with allergic rhinitis and its correlation with anxiety and depression显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To preliminary investigate the distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)constitution among patients with allergic rhinitis(AR)and reveal the related factors with anxiety and depression.METHODS:Between July 2020 and June 2021,specialist doctor recruited AR patients in Beijing and Shanghai.A total of 630 patients admitted to participate in the survey,and 516(81.9%)(male 54.3%,female 45.7%)participants completed the questionnaires.Three scales including Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire(CCMQ),Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire(GAD-7)and The Patient Health Queationaire-9(PHQ-9)were applied.Theχ^(2)and the Fisher’s exact test were used to evaluate the classification data,multivariate logistic regression was used to explore the related factors of anxiety and depression.RESULTS:According to 516 AR patients,the most commonly first-constitution was Yang-deficiency(22.1%)and frequent of all constitutions was inherited-special(21.6%).One third of AR patients(33.5%)suffered from anxiety,nearly half of AR patients(46.5%)were found to be depressive.Inherited-special(27.7%)was the most common constitution in patients with anxiety whereas Yang-deficiency(26.7%)was most common constitution in patients with depression.Sex,duration of symptoms,balanced,Qi-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were related with anxiety;Sex,income,duration of symptoms,balanced,Qi-deficiency,Yang-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were related with depression.CONCLUSIONS:According to our study,the commonly constitution types of AR were Yang-deficiency and inherited-special.We found that the prevalence value of anxiety and depression were high.People with Qi-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were more likely to have mental problems than the others.Controlling these influential factors might be beneficial for clinical health management of AR patients,and the government should apply appropriate mental health treatment services to offer psychiatric support.WANG Yaqi ZHAO Weibo WANG Yixing ZHAO Haihong ZHOU Yaoyao YAN Yun WU Taotao LUO Bin WANG Ji 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,6:0
