1An Examination of the Predictability of Tropical Cyclone Genesis in High-Resolution Coupled Models with Dynamically Downscaled Coupled Data Assimilation Initialization显示文摘Predicting tropical cyclone(TC)genesis is of great societal importance but scientifically challenging.It requires fineresolution coupled models that properly represent air−sea interactions in the atmospheric responses to local warm sea surface temperatures and feedbacks,with aid from coherent coupled initialization.This study uses three sets of highresolution regional coupled models(RCMs)covering the Asia−Pacific(AP)region initialized with local observations and dynamically downscaled coupled data assimilation to evaluate the predictability of TC genesis in the West Pacific.The APRCMs consist of three sets of high-resolution configurations of the Weather Research and Forecasting−Regional Ocean Model System(WRF-ROMS):27-km WRF with 9-km ROMS,and 9-km WRF with 3-km ROMS.In this study,a 9-km WRF with 9-km ROMS coupled model system is also used in a case test for the predictability of TC genesis.Since the local sea surface temperatures and wind shear conditions that favor TC formation are better resolved,the enhanced-resolution coupled model tends to improve the predictability of TC genesis,which could be further improved by improving planetary boundary layer physics,thus resolving better air−sea and air−land interactions.Mingkui LI Shaoqing ZHANG Lixin WU Xiaopei LIN Ping CHANG Gohkan DANABASOGLU Zhiqiang WEI Xiaolin YU Huiqin HU Xiaohui MA Weiwei MA Haoran ZHAO Dongning JIA Xin LIU Kai MAO Youwei MA Yingjing JIANG Xue WANG Guangliang LIU Yuhu CHEN 2020Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,9:4
2MOF-Transformed In_(2)O_(3-x)@C Nanocorn Electrocatalyst for Efficient CO_(2)Reduction to HCOOH显示文摘For electrochemical CO_(2) reduction to HCOOH,an ongoing challenge is to design energy efficient electrocatalysts that can deliver a high HCOOH current density(JHCOOH)at a low overpotential.Indium oxide is good HCOOH production catalyst but with low con-ductivity.In this work,we report a unique corn design of In_(2)O_(3-x)@C nanocatalyst,wherein In_(2)O_(3-x)nanocube as the fine grains dispersed uniformly on the carbon nanorod cob,resulting in the enhanced conductivity.Excellent performance is achieved with 84%Faradaic efficiency(FE)and 11 mA cm^(−2)JHCOOH at a low potential of−0.4 V versus RHE.At the current density of 100 mA cm^(−2),the applied potential remained stable for more than 120 h with the FE above 90%.Density functional theory calculations reveal that the abundant oxygen vacancy in In_(2)O_(3-x) has exposed more In^(3+) sites with activated electroactivity,which facilitates the formation of HCOO*intermediate.Operando X-ray absorp-tion spectroscopy also confirms In^(3+) as the active site and the key intermediate of HCOO*during the process of CO_(2) reduction to HCOOH.Chen Qiu Kun Qian Jun Yu Mingzi Sun Shoufu Cao Jinqiang Gao Rongxing Yu Lingzhe Fang Youwei Yao Xiaoqing Lu Tao Li Bolong Huang Shihe Yang 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,10:2
3Prediction of Fresh Pork Quality using Hyperspectral Scattering Imaging(HSI) Technique显示文摘In this study,fresh pork tenderness,drip-loss,p H value and color parameters( CIE,a*,b*and L*values) were simultaneously predicted using hyperspectral scattering imaging( HSI) technique. The hyperspectral scattering images of 40 fresh pork samples were collected at the wavelength of 400- 1 100 nm,and the scattering profiles were fitted via Lorentzian distribution( LD) function to give three parameters a( asymptotic value),b( peak value) and c( full width at b /2). Stepwise discrimination was performed to determine the optimal wavelengths combinations. The LD parameters combinations( a,b and c) of optimal wavelengths were used to establish multi-linear regression( MLR) models to predict the pork attributes. The models were able to predict pork with high correlation coefficients of 0. 92 for drip-loss,0. 94,0. 92 and 0. 98 respectively for color parameters( a*,b*and L*),and for tenderness and p H value the models gave the correlation coefficients of 0. 69 and 0. 76,respectively. These results showed that the hyperspectral scattering technique was capable of predicting quality parameters of pork. 5Generation of selectable marker-free soft transgenic rice with transparent kernels by downregulation of SSSⅡ-2显示文摘The amylose content(AC)of rice endosperm starch varies from 0 to 35%,and is associated with rice cooking and eating quality.Soft rice has low AC,generally between 6%and 15%,and its eating quality is high whether it is consumed hot or cold.However,the appearance quality of current soft rice cultivars needs to be improved,especially opaque endosperm.Conventional genetic engineering has improved some agronomic traits of soft rice varieties,but not endosperm appearance.In the present study,a RNAi construct of the soluble starch synthase II-2(SSSII-2)and the hygromycin phosphotransferase(HPT)gene were introduced into an elite japonica rice variety,Kangtiaowuyunjing(KWY8)by co-transformation.Several selectable marker-free(SMF)transgenic lines were obtained,and SSSII-2 expression was significantly downregulated in selected transgenic lines,resulting in lower AC of the endosperm.The physicochemical properties of the transgenic rice kernels,including gel consistency(GC)and rapid visco analyzer(RVA)profile,differed significantly from those of wild-type rice and were similar to those of a soft rice variety,Nanjing 46(NJ46).These findings indicate that the cooking,eating,and processing qualities of transgenic rice are comparable to those of NJ46.However,the transgenic rice endosperm retained a transparent appearance under low-moisture conditions.Thus,SMF SSSII-2 RNAi rice provides a resource for breeding soft rice with transparent endosperm.Zhihao Xu Meimei Yu Youwei Yin Cenwen Zhu Wen Ji Changquan Zhang Qianfeng Li Honggen Zhang Shuzu Tang Hengxiu Yu Qiaoquan Liu 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,1:2

14Experimental exploration of five-qubit quantum error-correcting code with superconducting qubits显示文摘Quantum error correction is an essential ingredient for universal quantum computing.D espite tremendous experimental efforts in the study of quantum error correction,to date,there has been no demonstration in the realis ation of universal quantum error-correcting code,with the subsequent verification of all key features including the identification of an arbitrary physical error,the capability for transversal manipulation of the logical state and state decoding.To address this challenge,we experimentally realise the [5,1,3]code,the so-called smallest perfect code that permits corrections of generic single-qubit errors.In the experiment,having optimised the encoding circuit,we employ an array of superconducting qubits to realise the [5,1,3] code for several typical logical states including the magic state,an indispensable resource for realising non-Clifford gates.The encoded states are prepared with an average fidelity of 57.1(3)% while with a high fidelity of 98.6(1)% in the code space.Then,the arbitrary single-qubit errors introduced manually are identified by measuring the stabilisers.We further implement logical Pauli operations with a fidelity of 97.2(2)% within the code space.Finally,we realise the decoding circuit and recover the input state with an overall fidelity of 74.5(6)%,in total with 92 gates.Our work demonstrates each key aspect of the [5,1,3] code and verifies the viability of experimental realisation of quantum error-correcting codes with superconducting qubits.Ming Gong Xiao Yuan Shiyu Wang Yulin Wu Youwei Zhao Chen Zha Shaowei Li Zhen Zhang Qi Zhao Yunchao Liu Futian Liang Jin Lin Yu Xu Hui Deng Hao Rong He Lu Simon C.Benjamin Cheng-Zhi Peng Xiongfeng Ma Yu-Ao Chen Xiaobo Zhu Jian-Wei Pan 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:1
15All-nanofiber self-powered PTFE/PA66 device for real-time breathing monitor by scalable solution blow spinning technology显示文摘All-nanofiber self-powered device was fabricated using simple,low-cost,safe,and scalable solution blow spinning(SBS)technology for real-time respiratory monitor and timely identification of respiratory obstruction clinically.Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)and polyamide-66(PA66)nanofibers were selected as triboelectric pairs,owing to strong ability to gain electrons of PTFE and supply electrons of PA66.Poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)was added to regulate spinning solution viscosity and prepare PTFE/PEO nanofibers,and the morphology and diameter distribution of nanofibers were discussed.PTFE nanofiber film was obtained after the decomposition of PEO in PTFE/PEO nanofiber and melt flow of PTFE pellets in a limited region,and possessed a tensile strength of 1.05 MPa and elongation at a break of 288.58%.Later,PTFE/PA66 all-nanofiber self-powered device was constructed containing PA66 nanofibers,and Au deposition film was used as electrodes by magnetron sputtering.The as-obtained device showed robust electrical performance with an open circuit voltage of~110 V at a loading force of 10 N,a short-circuit current of~5 uA at a loading force of 10 N and a frequency of 4 Hz,a maximum power density of 562 mW·m^(–2),and a current of 3.1 uA at a loading resistance of 30 MΩ.Based on the triboelectric mechanism,the device possessed stable response and effective sensibility for stimuli,was used to monitor human breathing conditions,prevent suffocation,and distinguish slow,normal,and fast breathing,with an output voltage of~0.08 V perceived in one normal respiratory circle.Pan Li Yibo Liu Han Zhang Zhiping Hu Luna Jia Dongkui Liu Lu Yu Bo Li Youwei Yao 2022Nano Research2022,15,9:1
