1Progress in Space Solar Telescope显示文摘In this paper we will summarize the progress in the development of the Chinese Space Solar Telescope (SST) during the past few years. The main scientific objective of SST is to observe the fundamental structure of solar magnetic field with its 1-m optical telescope. The success of 1-m Swedish Solar Telescope and Hinode underscores the importance of this 1-m space telescope. 2Morphological, cytological and molecular analyses of a synthetic hexaploid derived from an interspecific hybrid between Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium anomalum显示文摘Gossypium anomalum represents an inestimable source of genes that could potentially be transferred into the gene pool of cultivated cotton. To resolve interspecific hybrid sterility problems, we previously treated triploid hybrids derived from a cross between Gossypium hirsutum and G. anomalum with 0.15% colchicine and obtained a putative fertile hexaploid. In this study, we performed morphological, molecular and cytological analyses to assess the hybridity and doubled status of putative interspecific hybrid plants. Most of the morphological characteristics of the putative hexaploid plants were intermediate between G. hirsutum and G.anomalum. Analysis of mitotic metaphase plates revealed 78 chromosomes, confirming the doubled hybrid status of the hexaploid. Genome-wide molecular analysis with different genome-derived SSR markers revealed a high level of polymorphism(96.6%) between G. hirsutum and G. anomalum. The marker transferability rate from other species to G. anomalum was as high as 98.0%. The high percentage of polymorphic markers with additive banding profiles in the hexaploid indicates the hybridity of the hexaploid on a genome-wide level. A-genome-derived markers were more powerful for distinguishing the genomic differences between G. hirsutum and G. anomalum than D-genome-derived markers. This study demonstrates the hybridity and chromosomally doubled status of the(G. anomalum × G. hirsutum)2hexaploid using morphological, cytological and molecular marker methods. 3Near infrared spectral and polarization imaging observation of coronal emission lines during the 2008 total solar eclipse显示文摘During the 2008 total solar eclipse, the coronal emission lines were observed by using optical fibre spectrometric and polarization imaging system in near infrared waveband. The profiles of the coronal emission lines including Fe XIII 10747 , 10798  and He I 10830  were obtained with dispersion of 0.5 /pix. The intensity of Fe XIII 10747  remained unchanged in the two different coronal regions while the intensity of He I 10830  varied considerably in the two coronal locations no matter whether the prominence appeared or not. 5Nuclear UHRF1 is a gate-keeper of cellular AMPK activity and function显示文摘The AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)is a central regulator of energy homeostasis.Although much has been learned on how low energy status and glucose starvation activate AMPK,how AMPK activity is properly controlled in vivo is still poorly understood.Here we report that UHRF1,an epigenetic regulator highly expressed in proliferating and cancer cells,interacts with AMPK and serves to suppress AMPK activity under both basal and stressed conditions.As a nuclear protein,UHRF1 promotes AMPK nuclear retention and strongly suppresses nuclear AMPK activity toward substrates H2B and EZH2.Importantly,we demonstrate that UHRF1 also robustly inhibits AMPK activity in the cytoplasm compartment,most likely as a consequence of AMPK nucleocytoplasmic shuttling.Mechanistically,we found that UHRF1 has no obvious effect on AMPK activation by upstream kinases LKB1 and CAMKK2 but inhibits AMPK activity by acting as a bridging factor targeting phosphatase PP2A to dephosphorylate AMPK.Hepatic overexpression of UHRF1 showed profound effects on glucose and lipid metabolism in wild-type mice but not in those with the liver-specific knockout of AMPKα1/α2,whereas knockdown of UHRF1 in adipose tissue led to AMPK activation and reduced sizes of adipocytes and lipogenic activity,highlighting the physiological significance of this regulation in glucose and lipid metabolism.Thus,our study identifies UHRF1 as a novel AMPK gate-keeper with critical roles in cellular metabolism.Xiang Xu Guangjin Ding Caizhi Liu Yuhan Ding Xiaoxin Chen Xiaoli Huang Chen-Song Zhang Shanxin Lu Yunpeng Zhang Yuanyong Huang Zhaosu Chen Wei Wei Lujian Liao Shu-Hai Lin Jingya Li Wei Liu Jiwen Li Sheng-Cai Lin Xinran Ma Jiemin Wong 2022Cell Research2022,32,1:3

7Where do flare ribbons stop?显示文摘The standard flare model,which was proposed based on observations and magnetohydrodynamic theory,can successfully explain many observational features of solar flares.However,this model is just a framework,with many details awaiting to be filled in, including how reconnection is triggered.In this paper,we address an unanswered question:where do flare ribbons stop?With the data analysis of the 2003 May 29 flare event,we tentatively confirmed our conjecture that flare ribbons finally stop at the intersection of separatrices(or quasi-separatrix layer in a general case)with the solar surface.Once verified,such a conjecture can be used to predict the final size and even the lifetime of solar flares.CHEN PengFei SU JiangTao GUO Yan DENG YuanYong 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,12:2
8The calibration and initial results of the HeI D3 line flash spectrum obtained during the 2008 total solar eclipse显示文摘The flash spectra in the HeI D3 line were obtained during the 2008 total solar eclipse. This paper describes the instrument and the calibration of the obtained flash spectrum, and presents our initial results. The average integrated intensity is Eave = 8.13×1013 erg·cm-1· s-1·ster-1 at h = 1100 km, which confirms that the HeI D3 emission is negatively correlated with the solar activity. 9Nitrate increases cisplatin chemosensitivity of oral squamous cell carcinoma via REDD1/AKT signaling pathway显示文摘Although cisplatin is one of the chemotherapeutics most frequently used in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)treatment,it exerts multiple side effects and poor chemosensitivity.Nitrate reportedly demonstrates several beneficial biological functions,and synthesized nitrates enhance the therapeutic efficacy of chemotherapy.However,the role of inorganic nitrate in cisplatin chemotherapy remains unclear.We therefore investigated the effect of inorganic nitrate exerted on cisplatin sensitivity in OSCC.We found that nitrate did not affect OSCC cell growth and apoptosis in OSCC cells and OSCC xenograft tumor animal studies.Cisplatin induced REDD1 expression and AKT activation in OSCC.However,nitrate could increase cisplatin chemosensitivity,reduce its REDD1 expression,and attenuate AKT signaling activation in OSCC cells.Dysregulation of high levels of REDD1,which could enhance AKT activation,was positively associated with poor prognosis in OSCC patients.Thus,reduced REDD1 expression and retarded AKT activation induced by inorganic nitrate might be a new potential approach to the sensitization of oral cancer to cisplatin treatment in the future.Yuanyong Feng Xuedi Cao Bin Zhao Chunyan Song Baoxing Pang Liang Hu Chunmei Zhang Jinsong Wang Junqi He Songlin Wang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,11:2
