1Effect of grassland degradation on soil quality and soil biotic community in a semi-arid temperate steppe显示文摘Grasslands provide a number of ecosystem services for human society.Degradation of grasslands results in the loss of biodiversity and leads to the deterioration of ecosystem functions.In order to accurately assess the influence of grassland degradation on belowground ecosystems,we conducted experiments on a temperate steppe with different levels of degradation and investigated the influence of degradation on soil quality and soil biotic communities.Our results showed that grassland degradation significantly decreased soil quality,with lower values of soil quality index(SQI)observed in the degraded grassland than the meadow steppe and the grassland from the forest-steppe ecotone.Changes in the SQI along the grassland degradation gradient were positively correlated with soil carbon stock and the aboveground biomass,and negatively correlated with the root shoot ratio.Nematode trophic diversity and the ratio of fungal to bacterial PLFA were lower in the degraded grassland than the grassland from the forest-steppe ecotone.The dissimilarities in soil microbial and nematode community composition increased with the changes in soil quality index.Our results indicate that soil quality index based on the minimum data sets could effectively assess the influence of grassland degradation on soil biodiversity and ecosystem function.In order to effectively restore degraded grasslands,the key contributors to the soil quality,such as soil carbon,should be taken on priority basis for revitalizing the soil biodiversity and ecosystem function.Xu Han Yuhui Li Xiaofang Du Yingbin Li Zhengwen Wang Siwei Jiang Qi Li 2020Ecological Processes2020,9,1:4
2Development of T. aestivum L.eH. californicum Alien Chromosome Lines and Assignment of Homoeologous Groups of Hordeum californicum Chromosomes显示文摘Hordeum californicum(2n=2x=14, HH) is resistant to several wheat diseases and tolerant to lower nitrogen. In this study, a molecular karyotype of H. californicum chromosomes in the Triticum aestivum L. cv. Chinese Spring(CS)eH. californicum amphidiploid(2n=6x=56, AABBDDHH) was established. By genomic in situ hybridization(GISH) and multicolor fluorescent in situ hybridization(FISH) using repetitive DNA clones(pTa71, pTa794 and pSc119.2) as probes, the H. californicum chromosomes could be differentiated from each other and from the wheat chromosomes unequivocally. Based on molecular karyotype and marker analyses, 12 wheatealien chromosome lines, including four disomic addition lines(DAH1, DAH3, DAH5 and DAH6), five telosomic addition lines(MtH7L,MtH1 S, MtH1 L, DtH6 S and DtH6L), one multiple addition line involving H. californicum chromosome H2, one disomic substitution line(DSH4) and one translocation line(TH7S/1BL), were identified from the progenies derived from the crosses of CSeH. californicum amphidiploid with common wheat varieties. A total of 482 EST(expressed sequence tag) or SSR(simple sequence repeat) markers specific for individual H. californicum chromosomes were identified, and 47, 50, 45, 49, 21, 51 and 40 markers were assigned to chromosomes H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 and H7, respectively. According to the chromosome allocation of these markers, chromosomes H2,H3, H4, H5, and H7 of H. californicum have relationship with wheat homoeologous groups 5, 2, 6, 3, and 1, and hence could be designated as 5Hc, 2Hc, 6Hc, 3Hcand 1Hc, respectively. 5Cadmium isotope compositions of Fe-Mn nodules and surrounding soils: Implications for tracing Cd sources显示文摘Cadmium (Cd) pollution in agricultural soils has become a severe threat to food security and human health in recent years. Stable Cd isotopes are a potentially powerful tool for identifying the sources of Cd in soils. However, many Earth surface processes, including adsorption, leaching, and biogeochemical cycles in plants, may generate Cd isotope fractionation, which can complicate the potential application of Cd isotopes in tracing the sources of Cd pollution in soils. In this work, the Cd isotope compositions of typical Fe-Mn nodules (FMNs) and surrounding soils in two different soil profiles are investigated. Our results show that the FMNs in lower layers (i.e., C and W horizons) are isotopically lighter than the surrounding soils by –0.114‰ to –0.156‰ (Δ114/110CdFMN-soil). We interpret this fractionation as the result of preferential adsorption of isotopically light Cd onto the surface of goethite. In the upper layers (i.e., P and A horizons), the Δ114/110CdFMN-soil values are more negative in the P horizon (–0.213‰ to –0.388‰) but more positive in the A horizon (0.061‰ to 0.204‰). We interpret these fractionations as the result of natural biogeochemical processes (i.e., leaching and biological cycling) during soil development. Soil leaching preferentially releases isotopically heavy Cd into the underlying soil (i.e., P horizon), shifting the topsoil towards lower δ114/110Cd values but the underlying soils towards higher δ114/110Cd values. Moreover, biological cycling contributes isotopically heavy Cd to the topsoil, probably shifting the topsoil towards higher δ114/110Cd values. 8Constructing a lithiophilic polyaniline coating via in situ polymerization for dendrite-free lithium metal anode显示文摘Metallic lithium is regarded as one of the most promising electrode materials to break through the energy density bottleneck of current commercial lithium-ion batteries.However,the practical implementation of lithium metal anode is limited by the unstable electrode interface significantly,which directly induces a low Coulombic efficiency,short cycling lifespan,and dendritic lithium growth behavior.In this study,via in situ electropolymerization,lithiophilic and conformal polyaniline layer is developed to improve the initial lithium nucleation and plating process,reducing the interface charge transfer resistance and promoting uniform lithium plating/stripping behavior.Meanwhile,the polyaniline layer exhibits good adhesion to the substrate.As a result,the Li/Cu half cell delivers a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.1%for 400 cycles at 1.0 mA·cm^(−2)with polyaniline layer.In addition,long-term stable cycling at a current density of 1.0 mA·cm^(−2)for 1300 h has been achieved for lithium metal anode.This strategy provides a new perspective for the practical lithium metal batteries.Xiaosong Xiong Qiao Qiao Qi Zhou Xinbing Cheng Lili Liu Lijun Fu Yuhui Chen Bin Wang Xiongwei Wu Yuping Wu 2023Nano Research2023,16,6:0

15A Comparative Study of the Chinese Characters in the Graded List and the EBCL List显示文摘This study scrutinises the Chinese characters in two reference works compiled as part of two projects:the Graded list and the EBCL list.Situated in the character-based theory,the characters compiled in both are examined in depth from the perspectives of character complexity,character structure,semantic and phonetic radical transparency,frequency of character,and frequency of word formation.The results show that the two lists share similarities in terms of distribution of characters of different structures,level of semantic radical transparency,and frequencies of character and word formation.The character complexity of the Graded list is higher than that of the EBCL,while the level of phonetic radical transparency of the Graded list is lower than that of the EBCL list.With the Graded list,the high demands of character learning need to be borne in mind;this is due to the visual load of character complexity and the pronunciation information provided in phonetic radicals.Against a backdrop of increasing demand for CFL pedagogical materials,the differences and similarities between the two lists analysed and discussed in this study contribute to their pedagogical applications in teaching and learning Chinese characters.Qi Zhang George Xinsheng Zhang Yuhui Gao 2019汉语教学方法与技术2019,2,2:0
16Anisotropic emission of orientation-controlled mixed-dimensional perovskites for light-emitting devices显示文摘Perovskite light-emitting diodes(PeLEDs)are attracting increasing attention owing to their impressive efficiencies and high luminance across the full visible light range.Further improvement of the external quantum efficiency(EQE)of planar PeLEDs is limited by the light out-coupling efficiency.Introducing perovskite emitters with directional emission in PeLEDs is an effective way to improve light extraction.Here,we report that it is possible to achieve directional emission in mixed-dimensional perovskites by controlling the orientation of the emissive center in the film.Multiple characterization methods suggest that our mixed-dimensional perovskite film shows highly orientated transition dipole moments(TDMs)with the horizontal ratio of over 88%,substantially higher than that of the isotropic emitters.The horizontally dominated TDMs lead to PeLEDs with exceptional high light out-coupling efficiency of over 32%,enabling a high EQE of 18.2%.Yuhui Qi Yang Liu Chen Lin Yunzhou Deng Peng Bai Yunan Gao Haiming Zhu Zhizhen Ye Yizheng Jin 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,4:0
