2BMSCs-assisted injectable Col I hydrogel-regenerated cartilage defect by reconstructing superficial and calcified cartilage显示文摘The self-healing capacity of cartilage was limited due to absence of vascular,nervous and lymphatic systems.Although many clinical treatments have been used in cartilage defect repair and shown a promising repair result in short term,however,regeneration of complete zonal structure with physiological function,reconstruction cartilage homeostasis and maintaining long-term repair was still an unbridgeable chasm.Cartilage has complex zonal structure and multiple physiological functions,especially,superficial and calcified cartilage played an important role in keeping homeostasis.To address this hurdle of regenerating superficial and calcified cartilage,injectable tissue-induced type I collagen(Col I)hydrogel-encapsulated BMSCs was chosen to repair cartilage damage.After 1 month implantation,the results demonstrated that Col I gel was able to induce BMSCs differentiation into chondrocytes,and formed hyaline-like cartilage and the superficial layer with lubrication function.After 3 months post-surgery,chondrocytes at the bottom of the cartilage layer would undergo hypertrophy and promote the regeneration of calcified cartilage.Six months later,a continuous anatomical tidemark and complete calcified interface were restored.The regeneration of neo-hyaline cartilage was similar with adjacent normal tissue on the thickness of the cartilage,matrix secretion,collagen type and arrangement.Complete multilayer zonal structure with physiological function remodeling indicated that BMSCs-assisted injectable Col I hydrogel could reconstruct cartilage homeostasis and maintain long-term therapeutic effect.Hanxu Cai PeileiWang Yang Xu Ya Yao Jia Liu Tao Li Yong Sun Jie Liang Yujiang Fan Xingdong Zhang 2020Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,1:4
3Assessment of strong earthquake risk in the Chinese mainland from 2021 to 2030显示文摘The long-term earthquake prediction from 2021 to 2030 is carried out by researching the active tectonic block boundary zones in the Chinese mainland.Based on the strong earthquake recurrence model,the cumulative probability of each target fault in the next 10 years is given by the recurrence period and elapsed time of each fault,which are adopted from relevant studies such as seismological geology,geodesy,and historical earthquake records.Based on the long-term predictions of large earthquakes throughout the world,this paper proposes a comprehensive judgment scheme based on the fault segments with the seismic gap,motion strongly locked,sparse small-moderate earthquakes,and apparent Coulomb stress increase.This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the relative risk for strong earthquakes that may occur in the coming 10 years on the major faults in the active tectonic block boundary zones in the Chinese mainland.The present loading rate of each fault is first constrained by geodetic observations;the cumulative displacement of each fault is then estimated by the elapsed time since the most recent strong earthquake.Zhigang Shao Yanqiang Wu Lingyun Ji Faqi Diao Fuqiang Shi Yujiang Li Feng Long Hui Zhang Wuxing Wang Wenxin Wei Peng Wang Xiaoxia Liu Qi Liu Zhengyang Pan Xiaofei Yin Yue Liu Wei Feng Zhenyu Zou Jia Cheng Renqi Lu Yueren Xu Xi Li 2023Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1:2
4The effect of collagen hydrogels on chondrocyte behaviors through restricting the contraction of cell/hydrogel constructs显示文摘Collagen is a promising material for tissue engineering,but the poor mechanical properties of collagen hydrogels,which tend to cause contraction under the action of cellular activity,make its application challengeable.In this study,the amino group of type I collagen(Col I)was modified with methacrylic anhydride(MA)and the photo-crosslinkable methacrylate anhydride modified type I collagen(CM)with three different degrees of substitution(DS)was prepared.The physical properties of CM and Col I hydrogels were tested,including micromorphology,mechanical properties and degradation properties.The results showed that the storage modulus and degradation rate of hydrogels could be adjusted by changing the DS of CM.In vitro,chondrocytes were seeded into these four groups of hydrogels and subjected to fluorescein diacetate/propidium iodide(FDA/PI)staining,cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)test,histological staining and cartilage-related gene expression analysis.In vivo,these hydrogels encapsulating chondrocytes were implanted subcutaneously into nude mice,then histological staining and sulfated glycosaminoglycan(sGAG)/DNA assays were performed.The results demonstrated that contraction of hydrogels affected behaviors of chondrocytes,and CM hydrogels with suitable DS could resist contraction of hydrogels and promote the secretion of cartilage-specific matrix in vitro and in vivo.Longpeng Dong Qingli Liu Yongli Gao Hengxing Jia Wenling Dai Likun Guo Hongsong Fan Yujiang Fan Xingdong Zhang 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:2
5Facile synthesis and electrochemical properties of MnO_2/carbon nanotubes显示文摘The poor electrical conductivity of MnO_2 limits its use as an electrode material.To overcome this limitation,we report an easy and rapid approach to deposit nanosized MnO_2 onto multi-wall carbon nanotubes functionalized with hydroxyl groups(MWCNTs-OH) by chemical reduction of KMnO_4 with MnSO_4 in aqueous solution under ambient conditions.Characterization with XRD and TEM reveals that the obtained MnO_2/MWCNTs-OH composite is nanocrystalline and partially covered by MnO_2 nanosheets with a thickness of 1-3 nm at a MnO_2 loading of 20 wt%.Cyclic voltammetry(CV) and galvanostatic charge-discharge measurements reveal that the MnO_2/MWCNTs-OH composite with a MnO_2 loading of 20 wt% has a relatively high specific capacitance of 234 F/g at a scan rate of 2mV/s and exhibits good cycling stability.Furthermore,the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) shows that MnO_2/MWCNTs-OH composite may have potential applications as a non-noble metal electrocatalyst in fuel cells and metal-air batteries.Yang Lv Huanqiao Li Yan Xie Shushuang Li Jia Li Yongheng Xing Yujiang Song 2014Particuology2014,12,4:2

12Pyrolysis of Iron(Ⅲ)porphyrin coated Pt/C toward oxygen reduction reaction in acidic medium显示文摘Design and synthesis of highly active and durable electrocatalysts toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is of particular importance for proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs),yet remains a grand challenge.Herein,we report the deposition of iron(Ⅲ)porphyrin(Fe P)on house-made Pt/C by rotary evaporation of the mixture of Fe P and house-made Pt/C dispersed in chloroform,followed by pyrolysis at 650℃ in argon atmosphere.This approach led to the synthesis of new non-precious metal electrocatalyst(NPME)-Pt/C composites(Pt/C-Fe P)with an average nanoparticle diameter of 3.1±1.5 nm without aggregation.According to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),the binding energy of Pt 4f_(7/2) became larger due to the presence of pyrolyzed Fe P.In addition,the electrochemically active surface area(ECSA)of Pt/C-Fe P-650 is 65 m^(2)/g less than that of house-made Pt/C(80.2 m^(2)/g).This implies that the pyrolyzed Fe P may have partially covered the surface of Pt nanoparticles and thus lowering the ECSA.Interestingly,the mass activity(MA)of Pt/C-Fe P turns out to be 349.0 m A/mgPt@0.9 V vs.RHE,which is 2.6 times and 1.5 times of house-made Pt/C and commercial Pt/C,respectively.It is speculated that the electronic interaction and possible synergy between Pt and pyrolyzed Fe P as NPME might have contributed to the ORR activity improvement despite of partial loss of ECSA.During accelerated durability tests(ADTs),the MA of Pt/C-Fe P-650 degrades 64.3% inferior to commercial Pt/C(52.2%).The main reason likely arises from the degradation of pyrolyzed Fe P,which is a bottleneck problem confronting NPMEs.Yang Lv Huiyuan Liu Jiaqi Qin Rui Gao Yunlong Zhang Yan Xie Jia Li Yujiang Song 2020Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2020,30,6:0
