| 1 | Meta-analysis of cognitive function in Chinese first-episode schizophrenia: MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB) profile of impairment显示文摘Background Compromised neurocognition is a core feature of schizophrenia. With increasing studies researching cognitive function of Chinese patients with first-episode schizophrenia (FES) using MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB), it is not clear about the level and pattern of cognitive impairment among this population. Aim To provide a meta-analysis systematically analysing studies of neurocognitive function using MCCB in Chinese patients with FES. Methods An independent literature search of both Chinese and English databases up to 13 March 2019 was conducted by two reviewers. Standardised mean difference (SMD) was calculated using the random effects model to evaluate the effect size. Results 56 studies (FES=3167, healthy controls (HC)=3017) were included and analysed. No study was rated as 'high quality' according to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology. Compared with HCs, Chinese patients with FES showed impairment with large effect size in overall cognition (SMD=-1.60,95% Cl -1.82 to -1.38,厂=67%) and all seven cognitive domains, with the SMD ranging from -0.87 to -1.41. In nine MCCB subtests, patients with FES showed significant difference in Symbol Coding (SMD=-1.90), Trail Making Test (TMT)(SMD=-1.36), Continuous Performance Test-Identical Pairs (SMD=-1.33), Hopkins Verbal Learning Test (SMD=-1.24), Brief Visuospatial Memory Test (SMD=-1.18), Mazes (SMD=-1.16), Category Fluency (SMD=-1.01), Spatial Span (SMD=-0.69) and Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (SMD=-0.38). Conclusions Our meta-analysis demonstrates that Chinese patients with FES show neurocognitive deficits across all seven MCCB cognitive domains and all nine subtests, particularly in two neurocognitive domains: speed of processing and attention/vigilance, with the least impairment shown in social cognition. | 2 | Genome-wide association study of vitamin E in sweet corn kernels显示文摘Vitamin E,consisting of tocopherols and tocotrienols,serves as a lipid-soluble antioxidant in sweet corn kernels,providing nutrients to both plants and humans.Though the key genes involved in the vitamin E biosynthesis pathway have been identified in plants,the genetic architecture of vitamin E content in sweet corn kernels remains largely unclear.In the present study,an association panel of 204 inbred lines of sweet corn was constructed.Seven compounds of vitamin E were quantified in sweet corn kernels at 28 days after pollination.A total of 119 loci for vitamin E were identified using a genome-wide association study based on genotyping by sequencing,and a genetic network of vitamin E was constructed.Candidate genes identified were involved mainly in RNA regulation and protein metabolism.The known gene ZmVTE4,encodingγ-tocopherol methyltransferase,was significantly associated with four traits(α-tocopherol,α-tocotrienol,theα/γ-tocopherol ratio,and theα/γ-tocotrienol ratio).The effects of two causative markers on ZmVTE4 were validated by haplotype analysis.Finally,two elite cultivars(Yuetian 9 and Yuetian 22)with a 4.5-fold increase in the sum ofα-andγ-tocopherols were developed by marker-assisted selection,demonstrating the successful biofortification of sweet corn.Three genes(DAHPS,ADT2,and cmu2)involved in chorismate and tyrosine synthesis were significantly associated with theα/γ-tocotrienol ratio.These results shed light on the genetic architecture of vitamin E and may accelerate the nutritional improvement of sweet corn. | Yingni Xiao Yongtao Yu Gaoke Li Lihua Xie Xinbo Guo Jiansheng Li Yuliang Li Jianguang Hu | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,2: | 7 |

| 8 | Highly efficient green InP-based quantum dot light-emitting diodes regulated by inner alloyed shell component显示文摘InP-based quantum dot light-emitting diodes(QLEDs),as less toxic than Cd-free and Pb-free optoelectronic devices,have become the most promising benign alternatives for the next generation lighting and display.However,the development of green-emitting InP-based QLEDs still remains a great challenge to the environmental preparation of InP quantum dots(QDs)and superior device performance.Herein,we reported the highly efficient green-emitting InP-based QLEDs regulated by the inner alloyed shell components.Based on the environmental phosphorus tris(dimethylamino)phosphine((DMA)3P),we obtained highly efficient InP-based QDs with the narrowest full width at half maximum(~35 nm)and highest quantum yield(~97%)by inserting the gradient inner shell layer ZnSe_(x)S_(1-x)without further post-treatment.More importantly,we concretely discussed the effect and physical mechanism of ZnSe_(x)S_(1-x)layer on the performance of QDs and QLEDs through the characterization of structure,luminescence,femtosecond transient absorption,and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy.We demonstrated that the insert inner alloyed shell ZnSe_(x)S_(1-x)provided bifunctionality,which diminished the interface defects upon balancing the lattice mismatch and tailored the energy levels of InP-based QDs which could promote the balanced carrier injection.The resulting QLEDs applying the InP/ZnSe_(0.7)S_(0.3)/ZnS QDs as an emitter layer exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 15.2%with the electroluminescence peak of 532 nm,which was almost the highest record of InP-based pure green-emitting QLEDs.These results demonstrated the applicability and processability of inner shell component engineering in the preparation of high-quallity InP-based QLEDs. | Peng Yu Sheng Cao Yuliang Shan Yuhe Bi Yaqi Hu Ruosheng Zeng Bingsuo Zou Yunjun Wang Jialong Zhao | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7: | 1 |

In this paper, SC of MBT was prepared with wet-grinding technology, and the effect of surfactants,such as Morwet D425(D425) and Morwet EFW(EFW)(two kinds of dispersant), on the Zeta potential and rheology behavior of MBT SC were investigated. The results showed that the Zeta potential absolute value of MBT SC increased with the increasing content of D425, and it decreased with the increasing content of EFW at acidic solution(pH = 4.5). In the combination system of D425 and EFW, Zeta potential of MBT SC decreased first and then increased with the increasing content of EFW. The relationship between shear rate(γ) and viscosity(η) was studied according to Herschel–Bulkley model: η = η0+ k/γ, and the relationship between shear rate(γ) and shear force(τ) was investigated according to:τ = τ0+Kγ~n.
