| 3 | Interval mapping for red/green skin color in Asian pears using a modified QTL-seq method显示文摘Pears with red skin are attractive to consumers and provide additional health benefits.Identification of the gene(s)responsible for skin coloration can benefit cultivar selection and breeding.The use of QTL-seq,a bulked segregant analysis method,can be problematic when heterozygous parents are involved.The present study modified the QTL-seq method by introducing a|Δ(SNP-index)|parameter to improve the accuracy of mapping the red skin trait in a group of highly heterozygous Asian pears.The analyses were based on mixed DNA pools composed of 28 red-skinned and 27 green-skinned pear lines derived from a cross between the‘Mantianhong’and‘Hongxiangsu’red-skinned cultivars.The‘Dangshansuli’cultivar genome was used as reference for sequence alignment.An average single-nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)index was calculated using a sliding window approach(200-kb windows,20-kb increments).Nine scaffolds within the candidate QTL interval were in the fifth linkage group from 111.9 to 177.1 cM.There was a significant linkage between the insertions/deletions and simple sequence repeat markers designed from the candidate intervals and the red/green skin(R/G)locus,which was in a 582.5-kb candidate interval that contained 81 predicted protein-coding gene models and was composed of two subintervals at the bottom of the fifth chromosome.The ZFRI 130-16,In2130-12 and In2130-16 markers located near the R/G locus could potentially be used to identify the red skin trait in Asian pear populations.This study provides new insights into the genetics controlling the red skin phenotype in this fruit. | Huabai Xue Ting Shi Fangfang Wang Huangkai Zhou Jian Yang Long Wang Suke Wang Yanli Su Zhen Zhang Yushan Qiao Xiugen Li | 2017 | Horticulture Research2017,4,1: | 5 |
| 4 | A chromosome-level genome assembly of rugged rose (Rosa rugosa) provides insights into its evolution, ecology, and floral characteristics显示文摘Rosa rugosa,commonly known as rugged rose,is a perennial ornamental shrub.It produces beautiful flowers with a mild fragrance and colorful seed pods.Unlike many other cultivated roses,R.rugosa adapts to a wide range of habitat types and harsh environmental conditions such as salinity,alkaline,shade,drought,high humidity,and frigid temperatures.Here,we produced and analyzed a high-quality genome sequence for R.rugosa to understand its ecology,floral characteristics and evolution.PacBio HiFi reads were initially used to construct the draft genome of R.rugosa,and then Hi-C sequencing was applied to assemble the contigs into 7 chromosomes.We obtained a 382.6Mb genome encoding 39,704 protein-coding genes.The genome of R.rugosa appears to be conserved with no additional whole-genome duplication after the gamma whole-genome triplication(WGT),which occurred~100 million years ago in the ancestor of core eudicots.Based on a comparative analysis of the high-quality genome assembly of R.rugosa and other high-quality Rosaceae genomes,we found a unique large inverted segment in the Chinese rose R.chinensis and a retroposition in strawberry caused by post-WGT events.We also found that floral development-and stress response signaling-related gene modules were retained after the WGT.Two MADS-box genes involved in floral development and the stress-related transcription factors DREB2A-INTERACTING PROTEIN 2(DRIP2)and PEPTIDE TRANSPORTER 3(PTR3)were found to be positively selected in evolution,which may have contributed to the unique ability of this plant to adapt to harsh environments.In summary,the high-quality genome sequence of R.rugosa provides a map for genetic studies and molecular breeding of this plant and enables comparative genomic studies of Rosa in the near future. | Fei Chen Liyao Su Shuaiya Hu Jia-Yu Xue Hui Liu Guanhua Liu Yifan Jiang Jianke Du Yushan Qiao Yannan Fan Huan Liu Qi Yang Wenjie Lu Zhu-Qing Shao Jian Zhang Liangsheng Zhang Feng Chen Zong-Ming(Max)Cheng | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2 |
| 5 | Effect of the Inclination Angle on Slippage Loss in Gas-Liquid Two-Phase Flow显示文摘The lifting efficiency and stability of gas lift well are affected by the socalled slippage-loss effect in gas-liquid two-phase flow.The existing studies on this subject have generally been based on vertical and horizontal wells.Only a few of them have considered inclined pipes.In the present work a new focused study is presented along these lines.More specifically,we use the non-slip pressure drop model with Flanigan’s fluctuation correction coefficient formula(together with the parameters of slippage density,slippage pressure drop and slippage ratio)to analyze the influence of the inclination angle on slippage loss for different conditions(different gas-liquid superficial velocity and pipe diameters).Moreover,the“standard regression coefficient method”is used for multi-factor sensitivity analysis.The experimental results indicate that slippage loss is affected by multiple factors,and the influence of the inclination angle on slippage loss is less significant than other factors.The change of the slippage pressure drop with the superficial velocity of gas-liquid is similar to that of the total pressure drop.The inclination angles of 45°and 60°have the greatest influence on slippage loss.The correlation between slippage density and slippage ratio is not obvious.Using the so-called slippage ratio seems to be a more accurate option to evaluate the degree of slippage loss. | Yushan Liu Yubin Su Zhenhua Wu Wei Luo Ruiquan Liao | 2020 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2020,16,3: | 2 |

| 15 | Effect modifications of BMI transition and trajectory in the associations of adverse childhood experiences with new-onset dementia and its subtypes in older US adults显示文摘Background Adverse childhood experiences(ACEs)and dementia are associated and comorbid with obesity.However,according to emerging research,the role of obesity in the association between ACEs and dementia seems controversial.Aims This analysis aimed to explore the associations between ACEs and different dementia subtypes and the effect modification of long-term body mass index(BMI).Methods Data were obtained from the US Health and Retirement Study.Six ACEs were categorised as 0,1 and 2 or more.All-cause dementia,Alzheimer’s disease(AD)and other dementias were defined by self-reported or proxy-reported physician diagnosis.Cox proportional hazards regression was used to explore the associations of ACEs with new-onset all-cause dementia,AD and other dementias from 2010 to 2020.Effect modification of BMI in 2010 and BMI transition and trajectory(fitted by group-based trajectory modelling)from 2004 to 2010 were assessed.Results 15282 participants with a mean age of 67.0 years(58.0–75.0)were included in the 2010 data analysis.Significant interactions of ACEs with baseline BMI,BMI transition and BMI trajectory in their associations with new-onset all-cause dementia and AD were observed(all p<0.05).For instance,positive associations of two or more ACEs(vs none)with all-cause dementia and AD were found in those with a BMI trajectory of maintaining≥30 kg/m2(maintain obesity)rather than a decline to or maintaining<25 kg/m2(decline to or maintain normal weight),with hazard ratios(HRs)of 1.87(95%confidence interval(CI):1.45 to 2.42)and 1.85(95%CI:1.22 to 2.80),respectively.Conclusions ACEs were associated with dementia and AD in US adults with long-term abnormally elevated BMI but not with long-term normal or decreasing BMI.Integrated weight management throughout life could prevent dementia among those with childhood adversity. | Ziyang Ren Binbin Su Yushan Du Tianjing Zhou Xiaoying Zheng Jufen Liu | 2023 | General Psychiatry2023,36,4: | 0 |
| 16 | The joint driving effects of climate and weather changes caused the Chamoli glacier-rock avalanche in the high altitudes of the India Himalaya显示文摘Ice avalanches are one of the most devastating mountain hazards,and can pose a great risk to the security of the surrounding area.Although ice avalanches have been widely observed in mountainous regions around the world,only a few ice avalanche events have been studied comprehensively,due to the lack of available data.In this study,in response to the recent catastrophic rock-ice avalanche(7 February 2021)at Chamoli in the India Himalaya,we used high-resolution satellite images and found that this event was actually a glacier-rock landslide,where the collapse of the rock-ice body was caused by the sliding of the bedrock beneath the glacier,for which the source area and volume loss were about 2.89×10^(5) m^(2) and 2.46×10^(7) m^(3),respectively,corresponding to an average elevation change of about−85 m.Furthermore,visual analysis of the dense time-series satellite images shows that the overall downward sliding of the collapsed rock-ice body initiated around the summer of 2017,and thereafter exhibited clear seasonality(mainly in summer).Meteorological analysis reveals a strong rainfall anomaly in the initiation period of the sliding and a remarkable winter warming anomaly in the 40 days before the collapse.Comparisons of multi-temporal digital elevation models(DEMs)further suggest that the glacier geometry in the collapsed areas was likely changing(i.e.,accelerated surface thinning in the lower part of the glaciers and insignificant change in the upper part),which is consistent with the region-wide climate warming.Finally,by combining the above findings and a geomorphic analysis,we conclude that the rock-ice avalanche event was mainly caused by the joint effects of climate and weather changes acting on a steeply sloping and fracture-prone geological condition.The findings of this study provide new and valuable evidence for the study of slope/glacier instability at high altitudes.This study also highlights that,for the Himalaya and other high mountain ranges,there is an urgent need to identify the glaciers that have a high risk of ice avalanches. | Yushan ZHOU Xin LI Donghai ZHENG Zhiwei LI Baosheng AN Yingzheng WANG Decai JIANG Jianbin SU Bin CAO | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,11: | 0 |
