Modelling urban expansion using a multi agentbased model in the city of Changsha显示文摘Although traditional urban expansion simulation models can simulate dynamic features, these models fail to address complex changes produced by different agents' behaviors. The paper has built up a set of spatial-temporal land resource allocation rules and developed a dynamic urban expansion model based on a multi-agent system, which can simulate the interaction among different agents, such as residents, peasants, and governments. This model is applied to simulate urban expansion process taking Changsha City, in China as a study area. The results show that this model can not only reflect basic characteristics of urban expansion, but also help explain the reasons for urban expansion process and understand the effect of agents' behavior on the expansion process, and provide insights into the causing factors behind the expansion. In addition, in contrast to simulation results with land use classification map from remote sensing images, the precision of the simulation reached over 68% with higher precision than cellular automata model according to the cell-by-cell comparison. The results suggest that the model can help to provide land use decision making support to government and urban planners. | ZHANG Honghui ZENG Yongnian BIAN Ling YU Xijun | 2010 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2010,20,4: | 11
Tetrahymena Gene Expression Database (TGED):A resource of microarray data and co-expression analyses for Tetrahymena显示文摘Tetrahymena thermophila is a model eukaryotic organism. Functional genomic analyses in Tetrahymena present rich opportunities to address fundamental questions of cell and molecular biology. The Tetrahymena Gene Expression Database (TGED; available at http://gffzz5d146715fb2e495ehnqoxcononx606ff5.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn) is the first expression database of a ciliated protozoan. It covers three major physiological and developmental states: growth, starvation, and conjugation, and can be accessed through a user-friendly web interface. The gene expression profiles and candidate co-expressed genes for each gene can be retrieved using Gene ID or Gene description searches. Descriptions of standardized methods of sample preparation and the opportunity to add new Tetrahymena microarray data will be of great interest to the Tetrahymena research community. TGED is intended to be a resource for all members of the scientific research community who are interested in Tetrahymena and other ciliates. | XIONG Jie LU XingYi LU YuMing ZENG HongHui YUAN DongXia FENG LiFang CHANG Yue Josephine BOWEN Martin GOROVSKY FU ChengJie MIAO Wei | 2011 | Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,1: | 5
Methodology for fish biodiversity monitoring with environmental DNA metabarcoding:The primers, databases and bioinformatic pipelines显示文摘Environmental DNA(eDNA)originates from cellular material shed by organisms into aquatic or terrestrial environments and can be sampled and monitored using metabarcoding technology, which is revolutionizing fish biodiversity monitoring.Several reviews concerning fish eDNA have focused on standard sampling methods and its applications, though a systematic review focused on marker genes, databases, and bioinformatic pipelines has not yet been published. Here,we present a comprehensive literature review of studies applying metabarcoding technology to fish eDNA for the purpose of fish biodiversity monitoring. We systematically provide the available universal primers used to amplify barcoding sequences from fish eDNA,and then discuss reference barcoding databases, relevant bioinformatic analyses,as well as developed pipelines. The performances of universal primers and their relevant reference databases are summarized.Combined use of multiple primer pairs targeted for more than one gene marker(e.g.,12S,16S,Cytb,COI),and use of both local and public databases are recommended as approaches to improve the sensitivity and reliability of fish eDNA analyses. We also compare the effectiveness of eDNA metabarcoding to traditional approaches for monitoring fish biodiversity and highlight challenges and future perspectives associated with this new tool.Ultimately,we advocate for greater incorporation of eDNA analysis into fish biodiversity assessments to assist environmental managers. | Fan Xiong Lu Shu Honghui Zeng Xiaoni Gan Shunping He Zuogang Peng | 2022 | Water Biology and Security2022,1,1: | 3

Sinoatrial node pacemaker cells share dominant biological properties with glutamatergic neurons显示文摘Activation of the heart normally begins in the sinoatrial node(SAN).Electrical impulses spontaneously released by SAN pacemaker cells(SANPCs)trigger the contraction of the heart. However, the cellular nature of SANPCs remains controversial. Here,we report that SANPCs exhibit glutamatergic neuron-like properties.By comparing the single-cell transcriptome of SANPCs with that of cells from primary visual cortex in mouse,we found that SANPCs co-clustered with cortical neurons.Tissue and cellular imaging confirmed that SANPCs contained key elements of glutamatergic neurotransmitter system, expressing genes encoding glutamate synthesis pathway(G/s),ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors(Grina,Gria3,Grm1 and Grm5)t and glutamate transporters(Slc17a7).SANPCs highly expressed cell markers of glutamatergic neurons(Snap25 and S/-c17a7)t whereas Gad1,a marker of GABAergic neurons, was negative.Functional studies revealed that inhibition of glutamate receptors or transporters reduced spontaneous pacing frequency of isolated SAN tissues and spontaneous Ca2+transients frequency in single SANPC.Collectively, our work suggests that SANPCs share dominant biological properties with glutamatergic neurons, and the glutamatergic neurotransmitter system may act as an intrinsic regulation module of heart rhythm, which provides a potential intervention target for pacemaker cell-associated arrhythmias. | Dandan Liang Zhigang Xue Jinfeng Xue Duanyang Xie Ke Xiong Huixing Zhou Fulei Zhang Xuling Su Guanghua Wang Qicheng Zou Yi Liu Jian Yang Honghui Ma Luying Peng Chunyu Zeng Gang Li Li Wang Yi-Han Chen | 2021 | Protein & Cell2021,12,7: | 1

Study on the Urban Heat Island Effects and Its Relationship with Surface Biophysical Characteristics Using MODIS Imageries显示文摘This study assesses surface urban heat island (UHI) and its associated surface physical characteristics using remote sensing approaches. TERRA/MODIS images acquired in 2005 in three different seasons were selected to generate land surface tem-perature and surface characteristics for the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area in China. The intensity of urban heat is-land effects and its seasonal variations were examined. The result showed that UHI effects were significant both in the summer and the spring. Land surface temperatures in the city were 8 ℃ to 10℃ warmer than those in surrounding rural areas in the spring and the summer seasons. Although UHI effects exist in winter, they are not significant. Land surface temperature in the city was 4℃ warmer than that in surrounding rural areas in winter. This study uses normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and normal-ized difference built-up index (NDBI) as indicators of surface physical characteristics and investigates the relationship among land surface temperature (LST), NDVI and NDBI. The results from this study indicate that, while the relationship between LST and NDVI changes in different seasons, there is a strong positive linear relationship between NDBI and LST for all seasons. The amount of slope and intercept of the linear relationship between NDBI and LST can indicate the magnitude of UHI for different seasons. This finding suggests that NDBI provides an alternative physical indicator for analyzing LST quantitatively over different seasons, and therefore providing a useful way to study UHI effects using remote sensing. | ZENG Yongnian HUANG Wei ZHAN E Benjamin ZHANG Honghui LIU Huimin | 2010 | Geo-Spatial Information Science2010,13,1: | 1

Preparation of cinnamic hydroxamic acid collector and study on flotation characteristics and mechanism of scheelite显示文摘In this paper, using methyl cinnamate as raw material, the new cinnamic hydroxamic acid collector(CIHA)was synthesized by the hydroxylamine method. The collector performance of hydroxamic acid was investigated for scheelite and gangue calcite, and the flotation separation test of scheelite and calcite was carried out with CIHA as the collector. The interaction mechanism between hydroxamic acid and scheelite minerals has also been investigated through zeta potential,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)experiments,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)experiments, and density functional theory(DFT)calculation. The single mineral flotation test and artificially mixed ore showed that CIHA had an excellent collection effect and selectivity.Zeta potential,FTIR,and XPS showed that CIHA was adsorbed on the scheelite surface by strong chemical adsorption. The active group of CIHA was analyzed through quantum chemical calculation. It was speculated that C=O and N-O bonds could synthesize a five-membered chelated hydroxamic acid group with Ca element chelate on scheelite surface, changing hydrophobicity and making it more likely to emerge from the pulp. | Xiang Yao Xinyang Yu Liping Wang Yuhui Zeng Linghan Mao Shanming Liu Honghui Xie Guichun He Zhiqiang Huang Zhilin Liu | 2023 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,6: | 1

A New Species of the Genus Boulenophrys(Anura,Megophryidae)from Eastern Guangdong,China显示文摘A new horned toad species,Boulenophrys elongata sp.nov.,is described from Mt.Lianhua,Huidong County, eastern Guangdong,China. The new species is phylogenetically closest to B.brachykolos, which is restricted to the east of the Pearl River Estuary(i.e.,Shenzhen City and Hong Kong SAR).The new species can be distinguished from all recognized congeners by a combination of morphological characters and genetic divergences in the combined mitochondrial 16S,12S and CO1 genes. We recommend the new species be listed as Data Deficient(DD)in the IUCN categorization, pending further investigation. | Zhaochi ZENG Jian WANG Honghui CHEN Weiwen XIAO Binbin ZHAN Yuanhang LI Shishi LIN | 2024 | Asian Herpetological Research2024,15,1: | 0
SB1 Encoding RING-Like Zinc-Finger Protein Regulates Branch Development as a Transcription Repressor显示文摘Inflorescence structure of rice, including the number and length of branches, and the density of the spikelet, can greatly affect the number of grains per panicle, which is one of the key factors in yield compositions. Here we identified five allelic mutants sb1-1/2/3/4/5 that related to branch development of rice.In these mutants, the branch meristem fate was prolonged sharply, resulting in delay of transition from branches to spikelets, and then increased the numbers of branches and spikelets per panicle.SB1 encodes a nuclear RING-like domain protein of SHI/LRP/SRS family and strongly expressed in branch meristems. The results of protein interaction and chromatin immunoprecipitation further suggested that SB1 directly repressed the expression of DEP1,TAW1,MOC1 and IPA1 by interacting with a co-repressor complex to affect acetylation level of histone H3 on target regions. Thus,we proposed that SB1 is a transcription repressor of branch meristem activity by widely and negatively regulating a series of genes that maintain branch meristem fate. | ZENG Xiaoqin ZHUANG Hui CHENG Qinglan TANG Jun YANG Fayu HUANG Mingjiang WANG Ziyi LI Zhongcheng ZHU Honghui CHEN Rui HE Guanghua LI Yunfeng | 2021 | Rice science2021,28,3: | 0
