| 2 | Three-dimensional-printed individualized porous implants:A new“implant-bone”interface fusion concept for large bone defect treatment显示文摘Bone defect repairs are based on bone graft fusion or replacement.Current large bone defect treatments are inadequate and lack of reliable technology.Therefore,we aimed to investigate a simple technique using three-dimensional(3D)-printed individualized porous implants without any bone grafts,osteoinductive agents,or surface biofunctionalization to treat large bone defects,and systematically study its long-term therapeutic effects and osseointegration characteristics.Twenty-six patients with large bone defects caused by tumor,infection,or trauma received treatment with individualized porous implants;among them,three typical cases underwent a detailed study.Additionally,a large segmental femur defect sheep model was used to study the osseointegration characteristics.Immediate and long-term biomechanical stability was achieved,and the animal study revealed that the bone grew into the pores with gradual remodeling,resulting in a long-term mechanically stable implant-bone complex.Advantages of 3D-printed microporous implants for the repair of bone defects included 1)that the stabilization devices were immediately designed and constructed to achieve early postoperative mobility,and 2)that osseointegration between the host bone and implants was achieved without bone grafting.Our osseointegration method,in which the“implant-bone”interface fusion concept was used instead of“bone-bone”fusion,subverts the traditional idea of osseointegration. | Teng Zhang Qingguang Wei Hua Zhou Zehao Jing Xiaoguang Liu Yufeng Zheng Hong Cai Feng Wei Liang Jiang Miao Yu Yan Cheng Daoyang Fan Wenhao Zhou Xinhong Lin Huijie Leng Jian Li Xinyu Li Caimei Wang Yun Tian Zhongjun Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 9 |
| 3 | Dynamic Analysis of Propulsion Mechanism Directly Driven by Wave Energy for Marine Mobile Buoy显示文摘Marine mobile buoy(MMB) have many potential applications in the maritime industry and ocean science.Great progress has been made,however the technology in this area is far from maturity in theory and faced with many difficulties in application.A dynamic model of the propulsion mechanism is very necessary for optimizing the parameters of the MMB,especially with consideration of hydrodynamic force.The principle of wave-driven propulsion mechanism is briefly introduced.To set a theory foundation for study on the MMB,a dynamic model of the propulsion mechanism of the MMB is obtained.The responses of the motion of the platform and the hydrofoil are obtained by using a numerical integration method to solve the ordinary differential equations.A simplified form of the motion equations is reached by omitting terms with high order small values.The relationship among the heave motion of the buoy,stiffness of the elastic components,and the forward speed can be obtained by using these simplified equations.The dynamic analysis show the following:The angle of displacement of foil is fairly small with the biggest value around 0.3 rad;The speed of mobile buoy and the angle of hydrofoil increased gradually with the increase of heave motion of buoy;The relationship among heaven motion,stiffness and attack angle is that heave motion leads to the angle change of foil whereas the item of speed or push function is determined by vertical velocity and angle,therefore,the heave motion and stiffness can affect the motion of buoy significantly if the size of hydrofoil is kept constant.The proposed model is provided to optimize the parameters of the MMB and a foundation is laid for improving the performance of the MMB. | YU Zhenjiang ZHENG Zhongqiang YANG Xiaoguang CHANG Zongyu | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2016,29,4: | 8 |
| 4 | Estimation of the Type of Low Energy Discharge in GIS Adopting Characteristic Gas显示文摘In order to guarantee safe operations, low energy discharge within gas insulated switchgear (GIS) should be detected as soon as possible before they develop severely and cause final breakdown failures. This paper aims to present a GIS discharge diagnosis technique adopting gaseous decompositions. To reach this aim, needle-plate electrode and the sphere-plate electrode with metallic particles on the plate are designed to simulate two kinds of low energy discharge, namely, corona discharge and spark discharge, respectively. After sampling and analyzing the gases, different yields of gaseous by-products under different types of low energy discharge are obtained. | 6 | Crystal orientation and morphology of a lamellae in wrought titanium alloys: On the role of microstructure evolution in b processing显示文摘To obtain high-quality aviation forgings of titanium alloys, b forging is an essential processing step which must be considered throughout a production process. In this work, the effect of b forging on the crystal orientation and morphology of lamellar a was experimentally investigated in a two-phase titanium alloy. Strong dynamic recovery during b working resulted in the formation of low-angle grain boundary(LAGBb) inside b grains. The lamellar a can penetrate through the LAGBb, leading to similar intra a LAGBs on subgrain boundaries. Deformation banding occurs at high strain rates, and both diffusive and sharp boundaries of deformation bands can be observed.A continuous change of the b orientation in diffusive boundaries results in the formation of fine and disordered a lamellae without intra-lamellar boundary to hold the Burgers orientation relationship(OR). On sharp boundaries, it is prone to producing continuous grain boundary a(aGB) with a highly similar orientation along the boundaries. | 11 | Heteroepitaxial Growth and Characterization of 3C-SiC Films on Si Substrates Using LPVCVD显示文摘3C-SiC films have been deposited on Si (111) substrates by the Iow-pressure vertical chemical vapor deposition (LPVCVD) with gas mixtures of SiH4, C3H8 and Ha. The growth mechanism of SiC films can be obtained through the observations using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). It is found that the growth process varies from surface control to diffusion control when the deposition temperature increases from 1270 to 1350℃. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show that the SiC films have good crystallinity and strong preferred orientation.The results of the high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) image and the transmission electron diffraction (TED) pattern indicate a peculiar superlattice structure of the film. Herein, we reported the use of Co tetra(phenyl)porphyrin 1 and Co tetra(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin 2 as models to probe the role of Co-N_4/C sites for oxygen electrocatalysis. We showed that Co porphyrin 1 is more efficient than its structural analogue 2 for oxygen electrocatalysis in alkaline aqueous solutions, indicating that the electronrich Co-N_4/C site is more favored when noncovalently adsorbed on carbon supports. | 17 | lncRNA NEAT1 prompts autophagy and apoptosis in MPTP-induced Parkinson’s disease by impairing miR-374c-5p显示文摘Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play biological roles in brain disorder and neurodegenerative diseases.As the functions of lncRNA NEAT1 in Parkinson’s disease(PD)remain unknown,in the present study,we aimed to explore the roles and underlying molecular mechanisms of NEAT1 in PD.A PD mouse model induced by 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP)and a cell model of SH-SY5Y induced by N-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium(MPP+)were established.The ratio of tyrosine hydroxylase(TH+)cells was determined by immunofluorescence assay,and the behavioral changes in mice were observed using pole tests and rotarod tests.The cellular viability and apoptosis of SH-SY5Y were detected by MTT assay and flow cytometric analysis,respectively,and the number of autophagosomes was subsequently measured by transmission electron microscopy.High-performance liquid chromatography was performed to detect the content of dopamine,and a dual-luciferase reporter assay was used to clarify the target of NEAT1 simultaneously.The results demonstrated that the level of NEAT1 was upregulated in the MPTP-induced PD mice,dopamine neurons,and the SH-SY5Y cells treated with MPP+,whereas the level of miR-374c-5p was downregulated.NEAT1 level was positively correlated with MPP+in a concentration-dependent manner.NEAT1 inhibition efficiently facilitated cell proliferation but inhibited apoptosis and autophagy in the MPP+-treated SH-SY5Y cells.Additionally,silencing of NEAT1 increased the TH+rate of neurons and suppressed autophagy greatly in PD mice.As a possible target of NEAT1,miR-374c-5p could impact on the apoptosis and autophagy of the SH-SY5Y cells.NEAT1 inhibition upregulated the expression of miR-374c-5p,enhanced SH-SY5Y cell viability,and repressed autophagy and apoptosis in MPTP-induced PD mice.These findings indicated a potential therapeutic role of NEAT1 in treating PD. | Li Dong Yumin Zheng Lianbo Gao Xiaoguang Luo | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,7: | 3 |
| 18 | Influence of size and distribution of W phase on strength and ductility of high strength Mg-5.1Zn-3.2Y-0.4Zr-0.4Ca alloy processed by indirect extrusion显示文摘A high strength Mg-5.1Zn-3.2Y-0.4Zr-0.4Ca(wt%) alloy containing W phase(Mg_3Y_2Zn_3) prepared by permanent mold direct-chill casting is indirectly extruded at 350?C and 400?C, respectively. The extruded alloys show bimodal grain structure consisting of fine dynamic recrystallized(DRXed) grains and unrecrystallized coarse regions containing fine W phase and β2' precipitates. The fragmented W phase particles induced by extrusion stimulate nucleation of DRXed grains, leading to the formation of fine DRXed grains, which are mainly distributed near the W particle bands along the extrusion direction. The alloy extruded at 350?C exhibits yield strength of 373 MPa, ultimate tensile strength of 403 MPa and elongation to failure of 5.1%. While the alloy extruded at 400?C shows lower yield strength of 332 MPa,ultimate tensile strength of 352 MPa and higher elongation to failure of 12%. The mechanical properties of the as-extruded alloys vary with the distribution and size of W phase. A higher fraction of DRXed grains is obtained due to the homogeneous distribution of micron-scale broken W phase particles in the alloy extruded at 400?C, which can lead to higher ductility. In addition, the nano-scale dynamic W phase precipitates distributed in the un DRXed regions are refined at lower extrusion temperature.
