| 1 | Spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the Three-River Headwaters Region during 2000-2011显示文摘The Three-River Headwaters Region(TRHR), which is the source area of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and Lancang River, is of key importance to the ecological security of China. Because of climate changes and human activities, ecological degradation occurred in this region. Therefore, 'The nature reserve of Three-River Source Regions' was established, and 'The project of ecological protection and construction for the Three-River Headwaters Nature Reserve' was implemented by the Chinese government. This study, based on MODIS-NDVI and climate data, aims to analyze the spatiotemporal changes in vegetation coverage and its driving factors in the TRHR between 2000 and 2011, from three dimensions. Linear regression, Hurst index analysis, and partial correlation analysis were employed. The results showed the following:(1) In the past 12 years(2000–2011), the NDVI of the study area increased, with a linear tendency being 1.2%/10a, of which the Yangtze and Yellow River source regions presented an increasing trend, while the Lancang River source region showed a decreasing trend.(2) Vegetation coverage presented an obvious spatial difference in the TRHR, and the NDVI frequency was featured by a bimodal structure.(3) The area with improved vegetation coverage was larger than the degraded area, being 64.06% and 35.94%, respectively during the study period, and presented an increasing trend in the north and a decreasing trend in the south.(4) The reverse characteristics of vegetation coverage change are significant. | 5 | Analysis of genetic architecture and favorable allele usage of agronomic traits in a large collection of Chinese rice accessions显示文摘Genotyping and phenotyping large natural populations provide opportunities for population genomic analysis and genome-wide association studies(GWAS). Several rice populations have been re-sequenced in the past decade;however, many major Chinese rice cultivars were not included in these studies. Here, we report large-scale genomic and phenotypic datasets for a collection mainly comprised of 1,275 rice accessions of widely planted cultivars and parental hybrid rice lines from China. The population was divided into three indica/Xian and three japonica/Geng phylogenetic subgroups that correlate strongly with their geographic or breeding origins. We acquired a total of 146 phenotypic datasets for 29 agronomic traits under multi-environments for different subpopulations. With GWAS, we identified a total of 143 significant association loci, including three newly identified candidate genes or alleles that control heading date or amylose content. Our genotypic analysis of agronomically important genes in the population revealed that many favorable alleles are underused in elite accessions, suggesting they may be used to provide improvements in future breeding efforts. | 9 | Performance of different drought indices for agriculture drought in the North China Plain显示文摘The Palmer drought severity index(PDSI), standardized precipitation index(SPI), and standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPEI) are used worldwide for drought assessment and monitoring. However, substantial differences exist in the performance for agricultural drought among these indices and among regions. Here, we performed statistical assessments to compare the strengths of different drought indices for agricultural drought in the North China Plain. Small differences were detected in the comparative performances of SPI and SPEI that were smaller at the long-term scale than those at the short-term scale. The correlation between SPI/SPEI and PDSI considerably increased from 1-to 12-month lags, and a slight decreasing trend was exhibited during 12-and 24-month lags, indicating a 12-month scale in the PDSI, whereas the SPI was strongly correlated with the SPEI at 1-to 24-month lags. Interestingly, the correlation between the trend of temperature and the mean absolute error and its correlation coefficient both suggested stronger relationships between SPI and the SPEI in areas of rapid climate warming. In addition, the yield–drought correlations tended to be higher for the SPI and SPEI than that for the PDSI at the station scale, whereas small differences were detected between the SPI and SPEI in the performance on agricultural systems. However, large differences in the influence of drought conditions on the yields of winter wheat and summer maize were evident among various indices during the crop-growing season. | 10 | Broadband quasi-phase matching in a MgO:PPLN thin film显示文摘Future quantum information networks operated on telecom channels require qubit transfer between different wavelengths while preserving quantum coherence and entanglement. Qubit transfer is a nonlinear optical process,but currently the types of atoms used for quantum information processing and storage are limited by the narrow bandwidth of upconversion available. Here we present the first experimental demonstration of broadband and high-efficiency quasi-phase matching second-harmonic generation(SHG) in a chip-scale periodically poled lithium niobate thin film. We achieve a large bandwidth of up to 2 THz for SHG by satisfying quasi-phase matching and group-velocity matching simultaneously. Furthermore, by changing the film thickness, the central wavelength of the quasi-phase matching SHG bandwidth can be modulated from 2.70 μm to 1.44 μm. | 15 | Embedding ultrasmall Ag nanoclusters in Luria-Bertani extract via light irradiation for enhanced antibacterial activity显示文摘Ultrasmall silver nanoclusters(Ag NCs)with rich surface chemistry and good biocompatibility are promising in antibacterial application,however,further development of Ag NCs for practical settings has been constrained by their relatively weak antibacterial activity.Using the nutritionally-rich medium for bacteria(e.g.,Luria-Bertani(LB)medium)to coat active Ag NCs could further improve their antibacterial activity.Here,we provide a delicate design of a highly efficient Ag NCs@ELB antibacterial agent(ELB denotes the extract of LB medium)by anchoring Ag NCs inside the ELB species via light irradiation.The as-designed Ag NCs with bacterium-favored nutrients on the surface can be easily swallowed by the bacteria,boosting the production of the intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS,about 2-fold of that in the pristine Ag NCs).Subsequently,a higher concentration of ROS generated in Ag NCs@ELB leads to enhanced antibacterial activity,and enables to reduce the colony forming units(CFU)of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria with 3–4 orders of magnitude less than that treated with the pristine Ag NCs.In addition,the Ag NCs@ELB also shows good biocompatibility.This study suggests that surface engineering of active species(e.g.,Ag NCs)with nutritionally-rich medium of the bacteria is an efficient way to improve their antibacterial activity. | Ziping Wang Yushuang Fang Xianfeng Zhou Zhibo Li Haiguang Zhu Fanglin Du Xun Yuan Qiaofeng Yao Jianping Xie | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,1: | 1 |

| 19 | Insight to the enhanced microwave absorption of porous N-doped carbon driven by ZIF-8:Competition between graphitization and porosity显示文摘Porous carbon-based materials are promised to be lightweight dielectric microwave absorbents.Deeply understanding the influence of graphitization grade and porous structure on the dielectric parameters is urgently required.Herein,utilizing the low boiling point of Zn,porous N-doped carbon was fabricated by carbonization of ZIF-8(Zn)at different temperature,and the microwave absorption performance was investigated.The porous N-doped carbon inherits the high porosity of ZIF-8 precursor.By increasing the carbonization temperature,the contents of Zn and N elements are decreased;the graphitization degree is improved;however,the specific surface area and porosity are increased first and then decreased.When the carbonization temperature is 1000°C,the porous N-doped carbon behaves enhanced microwave absorption.With an ultrathin thickness of 1.29 mm,the ideal RL reaches-50.57 dB at 16.95 GHz and the effective absorption bandwidth is 4.17 GHz.The mechanism of boosted microwave absorption is ascribed to the competition of graphitization and porosity as well as N dopants,resulting in high dielectric loss capacity and good impedance matching.The porous structure can prolong the pathways and raise the contact opportunity between microwaves and porous carbon,causing multiple scattering,interface polarization,and improved impedance matching.Besides,the N dopants can induce electron polarization and defect polarization.These results give a new insight to construct lightweight carbon-based microwave absorbents by regulating the graphitization and porosity. | You Zhou Hongpeng Wang Dan Wang Xianfeng Yang Hongna Xing Juan Feng Yan Zong Xiuhong Zhu Xinghua Li Xinliang Zheng | 2023 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2023,30,3: | 1 |
