2Ultrahigh-Q silicon racetrack resonators显示文摘An ultrahigh-Q silicon racetrack resonator is proposed and demonstrated with uniform multimode silicon photonic waveguides.It consists of two multimode straight waveguides connected by two multimode waveguide bends(MWBs).In particular,the MWBs are based on modified Euler curves,and a bent directional coupler is used to achieve the selective mode coupling for the fundamental mode and not exciting the higher-order mode in the racetrack.In this way,the fundamental mode is excited and propagates in the multimode racetrack resonator with ultralow loss and low intermode coupling.Meanwhile,it helps achieve a compact 180°bend to make a compact resonator with a maximized free spectral range(FSR).In this paper,for the chosen 1.6μm wide silicon photonic waveguide,the effective radius Reffof the designed 180°bend is as small as 29μm.The corresponding FSR is about 0.9 nm when choosing 260μm long straight waveguides in the racetrack.The present high-Q resonator is realized with a simple standard single-etching process provided by a multiproject wafer foundry.The fabricated device,which has a measured intrinsic Q-factor as high as 2.3×10~6,is the smallest silicon resonator with a>106Q-factor.LONG ZHANG LANLAN JIE MING ZHANG YI WANG YIWEI XIE YAOCHENG SHI DAOXIN DAI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,5:7
3Wavelength-selective 2 × 2 optical switch based on a Ge2Sb2Te5-assisted microring显示文摘A novel wavelength-selective 2×2 optical switch based on a Ge2Sb2Te5(GST)-assisted microring-resonator(MRR)is proposed.The present GST-assisted MRR consists of two access optical waveguides and an MRR coupled with a bent GST-loaded silicon photonic waveguide.The 2×2 optical switch is switched ON or OFF by modifying the GST state to be crystalline or amorphous.In particular,the microring waveguide and the bent GST-loaded waveguide are designed to satisfy the phase-matching condition when the GST is crystalline.As a result,the MRR becomes highly lossy and the resonance peak is depressed significantly.On the other hand,when it is off,there is little coupling due to the significant phase mismatching.Consequently,one has a low-loss transmission at the drop port for the resonance wavelength.In this paper,the simulation using the three-dimensional finite-difference method shows that the extinction ratio of the designed photonic switch is^20 d B at the resonance wavelength,while the excess losses at the through port and drop port are 0.9 d B and 2 d B.In particular,the resonance wavelength changes little between the ON and OFF states,which makes it suitable for multichannel wavelength-division-multiplexing systems.Changping Zhang Ming Zhang Yiwei Xie Yaocheng Shi Rajesh Kumar Roberto R.Panepucci Daoxin Dai 2020Photonics Research2020,8,7:3

5M0S2 dual-gate transistors with electrostatically doped contacts显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)such as molybdenum disulfide(M0S2)have been intensively investigated because of their exclusive physical properties for advaneed electronics and optoelectronics.In the present work,we study the M0S2 transistor based on a novel tri-gate device architecture,with dual-gate(Dual-G)in the channel and the buried side-gate(Side-G)for the source/drain regi ons.All gates can be in depe ndently con trolled without in terfere nee.For a MoS2 sheet with a thick ness of 3.6 nm,the Schottky barrier(SB)and non-overlapped channel region can be effectively tuned by electrostatically doping the source/drain regions with Side-G.Thus,the extri nsic resista nee can be effectively lowered,and a boost of the ON-state cur re nt can be achieved.Mean while,the cha nn el c ontrol remai ns efficient under the Dual-G mode,with an ON-OFF current ratio of 3 x 107 and subthreshold swing of 83 mV/decade.The corresponding band diagram is also discussed to illustrate the device operati on mechanism.This no vel device structure ope ns up a new way toward fabricati on of high-performance devices based on 2D-TMDs.Fuyou Liao Yaocheng Sheng Zhongxun Guo Hongwei Tang Yin Wang Lingyi Zong Xinyu Chen Antoine Riaud Jiahe Zhu Yufeng Xie Lin Chen Hao Zhu Qingqing Sun Peng Zhou Xiangwei Jiang Jing Wan Wenzhong Bao David Wei Zhang 2019Nano Research2019,12,10:2
6Investigation on High Power Diode Laser Cladding of Ni-Fe-Cr Based Alloy Coatings显示文摘Appropriate laser cladding processing parameters for a Ni-Fe-Cr based alloy coating with good quality were studied using 3.5 kW diode laser.The characterization of the coating was investigated,and the influence of each parameter was analyzed.The mechanical properties and wear resistance of the coating were compared with the corresponding chemical composition wrought and cast materials.The results showed that a coating with aspect ratio about 3,dilution ratio 8%-10%and wetting angle 35o-50°could be formed with the laser power 1200-1500 W,travelling speed 8-10 mm/s,powder feed rate 16-18 g/min and shield gas flow 15 l/min.The tensile strength of the coating reached 953 MPa which was higher than that of wrought material 918 MPa and cast material 830 MPa.The microhardness of multi-layer coating was higher than that of single layer coating.The wear resistance of the coating was at the same level with the wrought and cast materials.Zhang Yaocheng Jian, Huang Nie Pulin Liu Honggang Li Zhuguo Wu Yixiong 2012稀有金属材料与工程2012,41,S1:2

8Effect of Precipitation on the Microhardness Distribution of Diode Laser Epitaxially Deposited IN718 Alloy Coating显示文摘The microhardness distribution of the diode laser epitaxially deposited IN718 alloy coating was investigated.The Laves concentration in different regions of the coating was measured by binarization processing.The strengthening phase of the coating was characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results showed that the microhardness increased along the depth of the coating.Part of Laves dissolved into austenitic matrix during the successive laser deposition.A little amount of strengthening phase was precipitated in the bottom region of the coating.It was attributed to the heat effect from the thermal cycle of successive deposition on the microstructure in the bottom region of the epitaxially deposited coating.Yaocheng Zhang Zhuguo Li Pulin Nie Yixiong Wu 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,4:1

10Reconfigurable multichannel amplitude equalizer based on cascaded silicon photonic microrings显示文摘A compact on-chip reconfigurable multichannel amplitude equalizer based on cascaded elliptical microrings is proposed and demonstrated experimentally.With the optimized structure of the elliptical microring with adiabatically varied radii/widths,the average excess loss for each channel in the initialized state is measured to be less than 0.5 d B,while the attenuation dynamic range can be over 20 d B.Flexible tunability through the overlapping of the resonance peaks of adjacent wavelength-channels enables even higher attenuation dynamic ranges up to50 d B.Leveraging the thermo-optic effect and fine wavelength-tuning linearity,precise tuning of the resonance peak can be implemented,enabling dynamic power equalization of each wavelength-channel in wavelengthdivision-multiplexing(WDM)systems and optical frequency combs.The proposed architecture exhibits excellent scalability,which can facilitate the development of long-haul optical transport networks and high-capacity neuromorphic computing systems,while improving the overall performance of optical signals in WDM-related systems.CHANGPING ZHANG SHUJUN LIU HAO YAN DAJIAN LIU LONG ZHANG HUAN LI YAOCHENG SHI LIU LIU DAOXIN DAI 2023Photonics Research2023,11,5:0
113D Bounding Box Proposal for on-Street Parking Space Status Sensing in Real World Conditions显示文摘Vision-based technologies have been extensively applied for on-street parking space sensing,aiming at providing timely and accurate information for drivers and improving daily travel convenience.However,it faces great challenges as a partial visualization regularly occurs owing to occlusion from static or dynamic objects or a limited perspective of camera.This paper presents an imagery-based framework to infer parking space status by generating 3D bounding box of the vehicle.A specially designed convolutional neural network based on ResNet and feature pyramid network is proposed to overcome challenges from partial visualization and occlusion.It predicts 3D box candidates on multi-scale feature maps with five different 3D anchors,which generated by clustering diverse scales of ground truth box according to different vehicle templates in the source data set.Subsequently,vehicle distribution map is constructed jointly from the coordinates of vehicle box and artificially segmented parking spaces,where the normative degree of parked vehicle is calculated by computing the intersection over union between vehicle’s box and parking space edge.In space status inference,to further eliminate mutual vehicle interference,three adjacent spaces are combined into one unit and then a multinomial logistic regression model is trained to refine the status of the unit.Experiments on KITTI benchmark and Shanghai road show that the proposed method outperforms most monocular approaches in 3D box regression and achieves satisfactory accuracy in space status inference.Yaocheng Zheng Weiwei Zhang Xuncheng Wu Bo Zhao 2019Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2019,,6:0
