| 1 | Prediction analysis of long-term memory effect for calamity gray series显示文摘It is adequate to use the gray theory for modeling and forecasting short-term calamity series. The forecast of calamity gray series is equivalent to predicting an extraordinary event in nature. In order to look for the regularity, the calamity date series, created from the threshold for a fixed time-interval series, are studied. In this paper, the Hurst exponent is applied to defining the long-term memory effect of the simulated calamity series, and is tested for the feasibility of using it as pre-requisite information before the gray modeling and forecasting. Based on the fractional Brownian motion (fBm) model, the time series with a definite length or quantity of data are derived assuming that various kinds of memory effect exist. Different threshold values are defined to yield or to analogize the calamity date series that are required in the prediction of the gray calamity events. After case study, both of the simulated and real seismic data show that the Hurst exponents are greater than 0.5 and, therefore, indicate that the long-term memory ef-fect exists. | 3 | Synergistic effects of silver nanoparticles and cisplatin in combating inflammation and hyperplasia of airway stents显示文摘Anti-inflammatory and antihyperplasia activities are essential requirements for the successful use of airway stents.In this work,silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)and cisplatin(DDP)were combined in a synergistic modification strategy to improve the surface function of airway stents.Using polycaprolactone(PCL)as a drug carrier,a dual-functional PCL-AgNPs-DDP fiber film-coated airway stent was fabricated by electrospinning.The physicochemical and biological properties of the obtained fiber films were examined.The ATR-FTIR,XPS,SEM-EDS and TEM results suggested that AgNPs and DDP could be successfully immobilized onto the airway stent surface.The drug release and surface degradation results revealed that AgNPs and DDP can undergo sustained release from films for 30 d,and the weight loss was approximately 50%after 35 d.In addition,the dual-functional fiber film suppressed human embryonic lung fibroblast growth and exhibited excellent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans.Furthermore,the effectiveness of the dual-functional fiber film-coated airway stent was evaluated by application to the trachea of New Zealand rabbits.The in vivo results indicated that PCL-AgNPs-DDP fiber film-coated airway stent can significantly inhibit granulation tissue formation and collagen deposition,reduced the expression of IL-8,TNF-α,IL-1α,PCNA,α-SMA and CD68,and ultimately achieved anti-inflammatory and antihyperplasia effects.Hence,this study provides a dual-functional surface-coated airway stent to address the clinical complications associated with respiratory tract inflammation and granulation tissue hyperplasia,thus inhibiting tracheal stenosis. | Zhaonan Li Chuan Tian Dechao Jiao Jing Li Yahua Li Xueliang Zhou Huiping Zhao Yanan Zhao Xinwei Han | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,3: | 1 |
| 4 | Evaporation and drying characteristics of the sessile ferrofluid droplet under a horizontal magnetic field显示文摘In this study,the evaporation characteristics and drying patterns of various sessile ferrofluid droplets on certain substrate under horizontal magnetic fields of controlled intensities are reported.The effects of droplet concentration and magnetic field intensity on the duration of each evaporation stage and drying patterns of droplets have been systematically investigated.It turned out that a plateau appears at the initial stage of evaporation in the absence of magnetic field and it was found that the plateau value is positively correlated with the concentration of ferrofluid droplets.Under the external magnetic field,the evaporation time of droplets decreases,the stage of contact line retreat extends,the stage of late pinning mode shortens,and the deposition area of ferrofluid droplet decreases compared to that of without magnetics field.The deposition area increases gradually and becomes more uniform with the increase of magnetic field.The decrease of friction force which is due to the decrease of the number of nanoparticles at the contact line under external magnetic field is the main reason for the observed phenomena.We found that the coffee ring and the uniform deposition inside the droplet will be destroyed when the magnetic field intensity is higher than a critical value.Our work has a significant reference value for the evaporation of sessile magnetic fluid droplets under the applied magnetic field,especially when the drying pattern needs to be precisely controlled,such as in spray or biomedicine. | Zhaonan Liu Jiandong Zhou Yang Li Xin Zhuo Xiujuan Shi Dengwei Jing | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,2: | 0 |
| 5 | FvWRKY50 is an important gene that regulates both vegetative growth and reproductive growth in strawberry显示文摘The WRKY transcription factors play important roles in plant growth and resistance,but only a few members have been identified in strawberry.Here we identified a WRKY transcription factor,FvWRKY50,in diploid strawberry which played essential roles in strawberry vegetative growth,and reproductive growth.Knocking out FvWRKY50 by genome editing accelerated flowering time and leaf senescence but delayed anthocyanin accumulation in fruit.Further analysis showed that FvWRKY50 acted as a transcriptional repressor to negatively regulate the expression of flowering-and leaf senescence-related genes,including FvFT2,FvCO,FvFT3,and FvSAUR36.Notably,FvWRKY50 directly upregulated the expression of FvCHI and FvDFR by binding their promoter under normal conditions,but at low temperature FvWRKY50 was phosphorylated by FvMAPK3 and then induced protein degradation by ubiquitination,delaying anthocyanin accumulation.In addition,the homozygous mutant of FvWRKY50 was smaller while the biallelic mutant showed normal size.These new findings provide important clues for us to further reveal the regulatory mechanisms of strawberry growth and fruit ripening. | Yating Chen Liping Liu Qianqian Feng Chuang Liu Yujuan Bao Nan Zhang Ronghui Sun Zhaonan Yin Chuanfei Zhong Yuanhua Wang Qian Li Bingbing Li | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,7: | 0 |

The authors model the distributions of the unobserved covariates and the regression errors via the Dirichlet processes. Moreover, the authors extend the Bayesian Lasso approach to our semiparametric model for variable selection. The authors develop the Markov chain Monte Carlo strategies for posterior calculation. Simulation studies are conducted to show the performance of the proposed method. | 11 | Risk factors for disease severity in COVID-19 patients: A single-center retrospective study显示文摘Background:The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a huge threat to human health.However,little is known regarding the risk factors associated with COVID-19 severity.We aimed to explore early-stage disease risk factors associated with eventual disease severity.Methods:This study enrolled 486 hospitalized,non-intensive care unit(ICU)-admitted adult patients with COVID-19(age≥18 years)treated at Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital,who were divided into three groups according to disease severity.The demographic,clinical,and laboratory data at admission and clinical outcomes were compared among severity groups,and the risk factors for disease severity were identified by multiple regression analysis.Results:Of 486 patients with COVID-19,405(83.33%)were discharged,33(6.71%)died outside of the ICU,and 48(7.20%)were still being treated in the ICU by the time the study period ended.Significant differences in age,lymphocyte counts,and the levels of procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer(P<0.001 for all)among the three groups.Further analysis showed that older age,decreased lymphocyte counts,and increased procalcitonin,aspartate aminotransferase,and D-dimer levels were significantly associated with disease progression.Conclusion:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)may impair the immune system,the blood coagulation system,and hepatic and cardiac function.Some clinical characteristics and laboratory findings can help identify patients with a high risk of disease severity,which can be significant for appropriate resource allocation during the COVID-19 pandemic. | Jingqing Xu Yanping Cai Min Li Qing Li Yingrui Zhang Ying Jiang Wanli Yan Xuemei Chen Hongxuan Zhang Zhaonan Zeng Fayang Lian Xiuling Shang Rongguo Yu | 2021 | Journal of Intensive Medicine2021,1,2: | 0 |
