| 2 | Key techniques for 5G wireless communications:network architecture, physical layer,and MAC layer perspectives显示文摘The fourth generation(4G) mobile communication systems are offering service worldwide steadily.Although 4G systems could be loaded with much more services and data than previous systems, there is still a dramatic gap between the people's practical requirements and what can be offered by the 4G technologies.Consequently, the research and development for the fifth generation(5G) systems have already been started. This article presents an overview of potential network architecture and highlights several promising techniques which could be employed in the future 5G systems. These techniques include non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA),massive multiple input and multiple output(MIMO), cooperative communications and network coding, full duplex(FD), device-to-device(D2D) communications, millimeter wave communications, automated network organization, cognitive radio(CR), and green communications. | 3 | NEURO-COGNITIVE MECHANISMS UNDERLYING THE EMOTIONAL MODULATION OF WORD READING显示文摘A novel neural model for emotional modulation of word reading is proposed. This model has four principal hypotheses: the dominant activa-tion region hypothesis, the emotional modulation hypothesis, the attentional level hypothesis, and the interaction hypothesis. | 4 | Surface pollen assemblages of human-disturbed vegetation and their relationship with vegetation and climate in Northeast China显示文摘Pollen assemblages of 53 surface pollen samples from farmlands and wastelands in Northeast China were analyzed. Tree pollen percentages were usually higher than 30%, with Pinus (26.9%), Quercus (0.9%), Betula (0.9%) and Populus (0.7%) as the major types, and herb pollen percentages were usually higher than 50%, with weedy Poaceae (8.7%), Chenopodiaceae (7.1%), Artemisia (1.9%) and Compositae (3.5%) as the major taxa. Thus, the pollen assemblages were consistent with the regional vegetation compositions. However, there were differences in pollen assemblages among regions, especially among different geomorphological units. For example, in the mountains, there were more types of tree pollen and higher total percentages (average 42%) than in other areas, while cereal pollen percentages were lowest (11.2%). In the hills and high plains, herbs made up more than 60% of the pollens, with cereals (average 53.6%) the dominant type. In the low plains, pollen types were similar to those in the hills and high plains, but total pollen concentrations and the proportion of Concentricystes were much higher, while cereal pollen percentages were slightly lower (average 41.6%). Pollen assemblages in different land use types also differed. For example, in farmland, cereal pollen percentages were more than 40% and Chenopodiaceae was usually less than 2.5%, while in wasteland, weedy Poaceae was usually less than 10% and Chenopodiaceae was usually higher than 25%. Total pollen concentrations in farmland (average 3909 grains/g) were much lower than in wasteland (average 15074 grains/g). Redundancy analysis revealed that pollen assemblages were significantly negatively correlated with mean annual temperature (-0.73) and July mean temperature (-0.81) and significantly positively correlated with mean annual precipitation (0.48), indicating that pollen assemblages in the artificial or human-disturbed vegetation reflect regional climate well. Comparison of pollen assemblages in different areas of northern China showed that pollen concentrations reflect the intensities of human impact to some degree. For example, pollen concentrations decrease as human impacts increase in intensity. The cereal pollen proportions in farmland differed by area. | 5 | A Survey of Downlink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access for 5G Wireless Communication Networks显示文摘Non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA) has been recognized as a promising multiple access technique for the next generation cellular communication networks. In this paper, we first discuss a simple NOMA model with two users served by a single-carrier simultaneously to illustrate its basic principles. Then, a more general model with multicarrier serving an arbitrary number of users on each subcarrier is also discussed. An overview of existing works on performance analysis, resource allocation, and multiple-in-put multiple-output NOMA are summarized and discussed. | 6 | In vitro effect of iASPP on cell growth of oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘iASPP is an inhibitory member of the apoptosis-stimulating proteins of P53(ASPP) family. iASPP is over expressed in several malignant tumors and potentially affects cancer progression. However, the expression and potential role of iASPP in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma(OTSCC) have not been addressed. In our study, we detected iASPP expression in OTSCC by immunohistochemistry. iASPP expression is up-regulated in OTSCC tissues. Moreover, in clinical pathology specimens, we found that increased iASPP expression correlates with poor differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Using multicellular tumor spheroids(MTS) and flow cytometry, we demonstrated that iASPP down-regulation arrests OTSCC cells at the G0/G1 phase, induces OTSCC cell apoptosis and inhibits OTSCC cell proliferation. | 7 | Joint resource allocation for hybrid NOMA-assisted MEC in 6G networks显示文摘Multi-access Edge Computing(MEC)is an essential technology for expanding computing power of mobile devices,which can combine the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)in the power domain to multiplex signals to improve spectral efficiency.We study the integration of the MEC with the NOMA to improve the computation service for the Beyond Fifth-Generation(B5G)and the Sixth-Generation(6G)wireless networks.This paper aims to minimize the energy consumption of a hybrid NOMA-assisted MEC system.In a hybrid NOMA system,a user can offload its task during a time slot shared with another user by the NOMA,and then upload the remaining data during an exclusive time duration served by Orthogonal Multiple Access(OMA).The original energy minimization problem is non-convex.To efficiently solve it,we first assume that the user grouping is given,and focuses on the one group case.Then,a multilevel programming method is proposed to solve the non-convex problem by decomposing it into three subproblems,i.e.,power allocation,time slot scheduling,and offloading task assignment,which are solved optimally by carefully studying their convexity and monotonicity.The derived solution is optimal to the original problem by substituting the closed expressions obtained from those decomposed subproblems.Furthermore,we investigate the multi-user case,in which a close-to-optimal algorithm with lowcomplexity is proposed to form users into different groups with unique time slots.The simulation results verify the superior performance of the proposed scheme compared with some benchmarks,such as OMA and pure NOMA. | Haodong Li Fang Fang Zhiguo Ding | 2020 | Digital Communications and Networks2020,6,3: | 3 |

| 19 | Active device detection and performance analysis of massive non-orthogonal transmissions in cellular Internet of Things显示文摘This paper investigates multiple access schemes for uplink and downlink transmissions in cellular networks with massive Internet of Things(IoT) devices. Recall that single-carrier frequency division multiple access and orthogonal frequency division multiple access, which are orthogonal multiple access(OMA) schemes, have been conventionally adopted for uplink and downlink transmissions in narrow-band IoT, respectively. Unlike these OMA schemes, we propose two non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)schemes for cellular IoT with short-packet transmissions. Especially, a generalized expectation consistent signal recovery-based algorithm is proposed to estimate active devices, channel state information and data in uplink transmission, where all of the active devices are allowed to transmit their pilots and data through the same resource block without authorization. On the other hand, the active devices estimated during uplink transmission are grouped for downlink transmission with a trade-off between performance and detection complexity. Additionally, the data error rates are analysed for both uplink and downlink transmissions with low-resolution analog-to-digital converters(ADCs), where the effects of critical parameters such as the estimation error, ADC bits, packet length, and message bits are revealed. Both simulation and analytical results are provided to demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed NOMA schemes and algorithms, especially for active device, channel, and data estimations. | 20 | Spectral and energy efficiency analysis for massive MIMO multi-pair two-way relaying networks under generalized power scaling显示文摘In this work, we investigate the spectral efficiency(SE) and energy efficiency(EE) for a massive multiple-input multiple-output multi-pair two-way amplify-and-forward relaying system, where multi-pair users exchange information via a relay station equipped with large scale antennas. We assume that imperfect channel state information is available and maximum-ratio combining/maximum-ratio transmission beamforming is adopted at the relay station. Considering constant or scaled transmit power of pilot sequences, we quantify the asymptotic SE and EE under general power scaling schemes, in which the transmit power at each user and relay station can both be scaled down, as the number of relay antennas tends to infinity. In addition, a closed-form expression of the SE has been obtained approximately. Our results show that by using massive relay antennas, the transmit power at each user and the relay station can be scaled down, with a non-vanishing signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR).
