In thisstudy, we prepared S, Se-codoped CDs via a hydrothermal method anddemonstrated that the doping resulted in excitation wavelength-independentnear-infrared (NIR) emissions of the CDs, with peaks at 731 and 820 nm.Significantly, the CDs exhibited a photothermal conversion efficiency of -58.2%,which is the highest reported value for C nanostructures and is comparable tothat of Au nanostructures. Moreover, the CDs had a large two-photon absorptioncross section (-30,045 GM), which allowed NIR emissions and the photothermalconversion of the CDs through the two-photon excitation (TPE) mechanism. | 4 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 5 | Enhanced mechanical properties of 6082 aluminum alloy via SiC addition combined with squeeze casting显示文摘In order to improve mechanical properties of 6082 aluminum alloy,the SiC_(p)/Al 6082 composites were prepared by the addition of the micron-sized SiC_(p)articles combined with the squeeze casting.The effects of the SiC_(p)content and squeeze casting on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the 6082 aluminum alloy were investigated by SEM,EDS,TEM,tensile testing and hardness testing analysis methods.Research results exhibited that the SiC_(p)content and squeeze casting had a significant impact on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the 6082 aluminum alloy.The addition of the SiC_(p)refined the grain size of the 6082 aluminum alloy while caused the increase of the porosity with increasing the SiC_(p)content,especially in the permanent mold casting condition.Compared to the permanent mold casting,the squeeze casting obviously reduced pore defects,refined grain size and made the SiC_(p)distribute evenly as well as bond tightly with the Al matrix.The tensile strength,yield strength,elongation,elastic modulus and hardness of the 6082 aluminum alloy obtained with the SiC_(p)and squeeze casting were remarkably improved,and the optimal mechanical properties were obtained with a 2 wt.%SiC_(p),and they increased 10.73%,72.7%,193.9%,23.5%and 25.2%,respectively,compared to those of the6082 aluminum alloy obtained without SiC_(p)and squeeze casting.The fracture surface of the SiC_(p)/Al 6082 composites obtained with the squeeze casting was dense and exhibited a ductile fracture mode. | Wenming Jiang Junwen Zhu Guangyu Li Feng Guan Yang Yu Zitian Fan | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29: | 6 |

| 8 | Case study of longwave contribution to dust radiative effects over East Asia显示文摘In order to evaluate the impacts of LW contribution to aerosol radiative effects over East Asia,a dust longwave radiative parameterization scheme is integrated into the online mesoscale dust forecasting model GRAPES_CUACE/dust.A case modeling study shows that about half at surface and one third at TOA of the dust negative shortwave radiative forcing are cancelled by its positive longwave forcing over the dust affected area.In the dust layer,longwave radiation emitting by dust cools the atmosphere,which counteracts about 17%of shortwave heating of atmosphere during daytime and results in cooling of atmosphere simply during nighttime.At the same time,the atmosphere beyond the dust layer is warmed because of absorbing the LW radiation emitted by dust layer.Dust longwave contribution exerts more evident impact on the air temperature in lower atmosphere and surface.The surface air temperature cooling rate resulting from the dust solar radiation is cancelled about 40%by dust longwave warming at daytime.At nighttime,dust longwave contribution warms land and sea surface.The online calculation of dust LW radiation reduces about 15%relative errors of predicted AOD based on the dust model with only SW radiative feedback.This case study result suggests that dust longwave contribution has important impacts on the earth-atmosphere energy process,especially on the surface and in the lower atmosphere and should not be neglected in the study of dust radiation effects. | WANG Hong SHI GuangYu ZHU Jing CHEN Bin CHE HuiZheng ZHAO TianLiang | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,30: | 4 |

| 11 | Solitary beam propagation in periodic layered Kerr media enables high-efficiency pulse compression and mode self-cleaning显示文摘Generating intense ultrashort pulses with high-quality spatial modes is crucial for ultrafast and strong-field science and can be achieved by nonlinear supercontinuum generation(SCG)and pulse compression.In this work,we propose that the generation of quasi-stationary solitons in periodic layered Kerr media can greatly enhance the nonlinear lightmatter interaction and fundamentally improve the performance of SCG and pulse compression in condensed media.With both experimental and theoretical studies,we successfully identify these solitary modes and reveal their unified condition for stability.Space-time coupling is shown to strongly influence the stability of solitons,leading to variations in the spectral,spatial and temporal profiles of femtosecond pulses.Taking advantage of the unique characteristics of these solitary modes,we first demonstrate single-stage SCG and the compression of femtosecond pulses from 170 to 22 fs with an efficiency>85%.The high spatiotemporal quality of the compressed pulses is further confirmed by highharmonic generation.We also provide evidence of efficient mode self-cleaning,which suggests rich spatiotemporal self-organization of the laser beams in a nonlinear resonator This work offers a route towards highly efficient,simple,stable and highly flexible SCG and pulse compression solutions for state-of-the-art ytterbium laser technology. | Sheng Zhang Zongyuan Fu Bingbing Zhu Guangyu Fan Yudong Chen Shunjia Wang Yaxin Liu Andrius Baltuska Cheng Jin Chuanshan Tian Zhensheng Tao | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,4: | 3 |

| 14 | Relations between man and nature reflected by the evolution of the Neolithic production tools in the Three Gorges region of Yangtze River,China显示文摘The relations between man and nature reflected by evolution of Neolithic production tools in the Three Gorges region of Yangtze River is discussed in this paper.Our results show that there is a good correlation between the percentage vibration of cutting tool types and the environmental evolution indicated by the natural profile nearby.It is possible for ancestors from the Three Gorges region to learn the advantage of mortise and tenon in the early Neolithic Age because they used the stones as vital tools for processing woods.The hunting method in the early Neolithic is throwing,which was inherited in the mid-Neolithic Age when hunting with arrow and bow was developed.Fishing tools are found at the same period.Numbers of net sinkers and spinning wheels unearthed from the strata of the Western Zhou Dynasty from Zhongba Site reveal the fact of fishing with net,while a mass of fishbone pits indi- cate the powerful productivity brought by new production tools.Quantity of stone spades and stone hoes proves that cultivation agriculture by hoe is extremely attached importance by the ancestors in the Three Gorges region.Moreover,the developed agriculture in Daxi Culture at Zhongbao Island benefits from the landform,climate,traffic location,etc.Otherwise,the reason that the farming tools declined in the late Neolithic Age is related to the extreme flood during the early Xia Dynasty and the fishing hunting preference of some ancient settlements.This research shows that ancestors of the Three Gorges region during the Neolithic Age attached importance to fish hunting and cultivation, fought against the natural environment by production tools,constantly created and improved them, then comprehensively utilized them to evolve the relations between man and nature. | GuangYao Zhu Cheng Zhu GuangYue Shi ZhiBin Sun | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S1: | 2 |
