| 3 | Melt-and air-processed selenium thin-film solar cells显示文摘Elemental selenium(Se), as the world’s first but long-neglected photovoltaic material, has regained great interest recently in tandem solar cells as top cells due to its wide bandgap(~1.8 eV), simple, non-toxic and earth-abundant composition, and intrinsic environmental stability. In particular, Se possesses the lowest melting point of 217 °C among the photovoltaic absorbers reported so far, endowing Se with a unique advantage of film fabrication by blade coating the Se melt on substrate. However, the poor wettability of Se melt on widely-used photovoltaic functional layers such as TiO_(2) limits its melt processing. Here we introduce a wettability-modification strategy that decreases the contact angle of Se melt on substrate and improves the wettability by appropriately enhancing the heating temperature of molten Se while avoiding Se volatilization. We further reveal the mechanism of the inherent air stability of Se that originates from the high activation energy of oxygen chemisorption on Se(3.21 eV). This enables the realization of compact Se films through melt-based blade coating in ambient air. The resulting Se solar cells exhibit an efficiency of 3.5%. | 4 | Rehabilitative treatment for knee osteoarthritis in 28 hemiplegic patients after stroke显示文摘BACKGROUND:The pain of knee joint in the paralyzed leg of hemiplegic patients after stroke will affect the training of standing and walking,and delay the proceeding of rehabilitation. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effective method for relieving pain of knee osteoarthritis and improving the function of lower limbs in hemiplegic patients after stroke. DESIGN:A randomized controlled study. SETTING:Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine,Anhui Provincial Corps Hospital,Chinese People's Armed Police Forces. PARTICIPANTS:Twenty-eight hemiplegic patients after stroke with knee osteoarthritis were selected from the Department of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine,Anhui Provincial Corps Hospital,Chinese People's Armed Police Forces from January 2003 to December 2006,including 11 males and 17 females,aged 47- 77 years,they all conformed to the diagnostic criteria of stroke set by the Fourth National Academic Meeting for Cerebrovascular Disease in 1995,as well as the diagnostic standards of knee osteoarthritis. Informed consents were obtained from all the patients and their relatives. METHODS:The 28 patients were randomly divided into treatment group(n =14) and control group(n =14). All patients had received facilitative technique training,such as normal motor pattern exercising and knee joint control exercising after hospitalization,besides,the patients in the treatment group received an extra complex therapy of electro-acupuncture therapy,physical therapy and exercise therapy,once a day,and 10 days as a course. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:The evaluation and effectiveness of the visual analogue scale(VAS) and Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) score of lower limbs function before and after therapy in the two groups. RESULTS:① VAS results:The score of pain evaluation in the treatment group after therapy was significantly lower than that in the control group(P < 0.01),and the effectiveness of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P < 0.01). ② FMA score of lower limbs motor function:There were no significant differences between the two groups before and after therapy(P > 0.05). CONCLUSION:The complex therapy of electro-acupuncture therapy,physical therapy,and exercise therapy based on facilitative technique training is effective in relieving pain of knee osteoarthritis in hemiplegic patients after stroke,but it is similar to the single rehabilitative training in improving the function of lower limbs. | Youkui Lu Zongbao He | 2007 | Neural Regeneration Research2007,2,11: | 0 |
| 5 | Treatment of glutaric aciduria type I(GA-I)via intracerebroventricular delivery of GCDH显示文摘Glutaric aciduria type I(GA-I)is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder caused by a deficiency in glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenase(GCDH).Patients who do not receive proper treatment may die from acute encephalopathic crisis.Current treatments for GA-I include a low-lysine diet combined with oral supplementation of L-carnitine.A mouse model of Gcdh^(c.422_428del/c.422_428del)(Gcdh^(−/−))was generated in our laboratory using CRISPR/Cas9.Gcdh^(−/−)mice had significantly higher levels of glutaric acid(GA)in the plasma,liver,and brain than those in wild-type C57BL/6 mice.When given a high-protein diet(HPD)for two days,approximately 60%of Gcdh^(−/−)mice did not survive the metabolic stress.To evaluate whether GCDH gene replacement therapy could be used to provide sustained treatment for patients with GA-1,we prepared a recombinant adeno-associated virus(rAAV)carrying a human GCDH expression cassette and injected it into Gcdh^(−/−)neonates for a proof-of-concept(PoC)study.Our study demonstrated that delivering rAAV to the central nervous system(CNS),but not the peripheral system,significantly increased the survival rate under HPD exposure.Our study also demonstrated that rAAVPHP.eB mediated a higher efficiency than that of rAAV9 in increasing the survival rate.Surviving mice showed dose-dependent GCDH protein expression in the CNS and downregulation of GA levels.Our study demonstrated that AAV-based gene replacement therapy was effective for GA-I treatment and provided a feasible solution for this unmet medical need. | Lu Guo Zhikun Li Yuhuan Li Bin Qu Guanyi Jiao Chen Liang Zongbao Lu Xin-Ge Wang Cheng Huang Hongwei Du Jianmin Liang Qi Zhou Wei Li | 2022 | Fundamental Research2022,2,6: | 0 |
