Role of gut microbiota in cardiovascular diseases显示文摘The human gut is colonized by a community of microbiota, primarily bacteria, that exist in a symbiotic relationship with the host.Intestinal microbiota-host interactions play a critical role in the regulation of human physiology.Deleterious changes to the composition of gut microbiota, referred to as gut dysbiosis, has been linked to the development and progression of numerous diseases, including cardiovascular disease(CVD).Imbalances in host-microbial interaction impair homeostatic mechanisms that regulate health and can activate multiple pathways leading to CVD risk factor progression. Most CVD risk factors, including aging, obesity, dietary patterns, and a sedentary lifestyle, have been shown to induce gut dysbiosis.Dysbiosis is associated with intestinal inflammation and reduced integrity of the gut barrier, which in turn increases circulating levels of bacterial structural components and microbial metabolites, including trimethylamine-N-oxide and short-chain fatty acids, that may facilitate the development of CVD.This article reviews the normal function and composition of the gut microbiome, mechanisms leading to the leaky gut syndrome, its mechanistic link to CVD and potential novel therapeutic approaches aimed towards restoring gut microbiome and CVD prevention. As CVD is the leading cause of deaths globally, investigating the gut microbiota as a locus of intervention presents a novel and clinically relevant avenue for future research. | Marko Novakovic Amit Rout Thomas Kingsley Robert Kirchoff Amteshwar Singh Vipin Verma Ravi Kant Rahul Chaudhary | 2020 | World Journal of Cardiology2020,12,4: | 6
Novel targeting approaches and signaling pathways of colorectal cancer: An insight显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC) is the third most common cancer of mortality in the world. Chemotherapy based treatment leads to innumerable side effects as it delivers the anticancer drug to both normal cells besides cancer cells. Sonic Hedgehog(SHH), Wnt wingless-type mouse mammary tumor virus/β-catenin, transforming growth factor-β/SMAD, epidermal growth factor receptor and Notch are the main signaling pathways involved in the progression of CRC. Targeted therapies necessitate information regarding the particular aberrant pathways. Advancements in gene therapies have resulted in the recognition of novel therapeutic targets related with these signal-transduction cascades. CRC is a stepwise process where mutations occur over the time and activation of oncogenes and deactivation of tissue suppressor genes takes place. Genetic changes which are responsible for the induction of carcinogenesis include loss of heterozygosity in tumor suppressor genes such as adenomatous polyposis coli, mutation or deletion of genes like p53 and K-ras. Therefore, many gene-therapy approaches like gene correction, virusdirected enzyme-prodrug therapy, immunogenetic manipulation and virotherapy are currently being explored. Development of novel strategies for the safe and effective delivery of drugs to the cancerous site is the need of the hour. This editorial accentuates different novel strategies with emphasis on gene therapy and immunotherapy for the management of CRC. | Ankita Tiwari Shivani Saraf Amit Verma Pritish Kumar Panda Sanjay K Jain | 2018 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,39: | 6
Numerical study of fractional model of multi-dimensional dispersive partial differential equation显示文摘This article is devoted to a newly introduced numerical method for time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation in a multidimensional space. The time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation plays a great role in solving the problems arising in ocean science and engineering. The numerical technique comprises of Sumudu transform, homotopy perturbation scheme and He’s polynomial, namely homotopy perturbation Sumudu transform method(HPSTM)is efficiently used to examine time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third order in multi-dimensional space. The approximate analytic solution of the time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third-order in multi-dimensional space obtained by HPSTM is compared with exact solution as well as the solution obtained by using Adomain decomposition method. The results derived with the aid of two techniques are in a good agreement and consequently these techniques may be considered as an alternative and efficient approach for solving fractional partial differential equations.Several test problems are experimented to confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methods. | Vijay Verma Amit Prakash Devendra Kumar Jagdev Singh | 2019 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2019,4,4: | 2

Influence of tool rotation speeds on mechanical and morphological properties of friction stir processed nano hybrid composite of MWCNT-Graphene-AZ31 magnesium显示文摘The ever-increasing demand for light weighted hard materials for transportation industries encouraged researchers to develop composites with excellent mechanical properties which can transform it into more economical and eco-friendly.Reinforcing the metals with carbonaceous nanomaterials are progressively in focus due to their excellent capability to inculcate and tailor the properties of MMCs.In the present research,a hybrid nanocomposite of MWCNT-Graphene-AZ31 Mg alloy has been developed by using variable tool rotation speeds with friction stir processing(FSP).Optimized reinforcement ratio of 1.6%vol.MWCNT and 0.3%vol.of graphene have been used with variable tool rotation speeds, whereas other processing parameters are kept constant. The developed specimens were investigated using standard testing equipment for evaluating and comparing the mechanical properties on the basis of the microstructure of the processing regions and their morphological analysis, according to the ASTM standards. The obtained results revealed an improvement of 19.72%in microhardness and 77.5% of compressive strength in comparison with the base metal AZ 31 Magnesium alloy, with a tool rotational speed of 1400rpm.The values of tensile stress and percentage area reduction were recorded as less than that of the base metal matrix, but an increasing trend has been observed in the values of both with the improvement on rotational speeds of the tool. The effectual strengthening mechanisms are analyzed on the bases of SEM images and observed that discussed and found that grain refinement strengthening is the major contributor to the strength of the nanocomposite. | Sanjay Sharma Amit Handa Sahib Sartaj Singh Deepak Verma | 2019 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019,7,3: | 1
Influence of rooftop telecommunication tower on set back-step back building resting on different ground slopes显示文摘In the hilly region due to scarcity of the plain area, buildings like set back-step back are more often used and also as a big surge in the telecommunication industries, rooftop tower adaptation is very common story nowadays. In the present study an analogy has been drawn to find out the influence of the rooftop telecommunication tower on the setback-step back building resting on ground at 20° and 30° slopes. A dynamic analysis has been performed and compared on the 4 legged angled section telecommunication tower which is located on the roof top of set back-step back building by varying positions of tower with the existing host structure built up on ground slope of 20° and 30° in both directions(X and Y). | Amit Thakur Deepankar Kumar Ashish Surender Kumar Verma | 2019 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2019,18,2: | 1
Free fatty acid-induced miR-22 inhibits gluconeogenesis via SIRT-1-mediated PGC-1α expression in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘Background and aims:Free fatty acids(FFAs)are one of the important regulators of the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The FFAs are shown to modulate the metabolic status of the liver by modulating several cellular pathways in hepatocytes. Here,we elucidated the role of miR-22 in modulating FFAs-mediated gluconeogenesis.Methods:Huh7 and WRL68 cells were transfected with nonspecific miRNA,miR-22 premiRs or anti-miR-22 oligos followed by incubation with palmitic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid(300μM each)for 48 and 72 h after transfection. The expression of miR-22 was performed using real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blots were performed for SIRT-1,PGC-1α,PEPCK,and glucose-6-phosphatase.Three groups of C57BL/6 mice(6 mice per group)were fed with standard diet, choline sufficient L-amino acid defined diet or choline-deficient L-amino acid defined(CDAA)diet for 6,18,32,or 54 weeks.Triglycerides content was measured in the serum.Expression of miR-22 and the protein expression of gluconeogenic enzymes were analyzed in the tissue samples. Results:Incubation of miR-22-transfected cells with FFAs inhibited the expression of SIRT-1,PGC-1α,PEPCK,and glucose-6-phosphatase,while miR-22 expression was increased. These changes were reversed when the cells were transfected with anti-miR-22 oligos.CDAA-fed mice showed the significant increase in triglycerides content and miR-22 expression, while there was an inhibition of SIRT-1,PGC-1α,PEPCK,and glucose-6-phosphatase expression in CDAA-fed mice. | Ajay K.Yadav Teja Naveen Sata Daksh Verma Amrendra K.Sah Amit K.Mishra Mrinalini Md.Musa Hossain Kishor Pant Senthil K.Venugopal | 2023 | iLIVER2023,2,1: | 1
