| 1 | Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China,has become a public health emergency of international concern.The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models.Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs,viral replication,chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response.Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs,anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema,notably,old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection. | Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1: | 22 |
| 2 | Direct-impact of sieving coal and gangue显示文摘Gangue from underground separation of coal can directly be used for filling mined out areas, saving transport capacity and reducing the amount of waste polluting the environment above the ground. We introduced a structure and operating principle of an underground direct-impact sieving device by which a separation experiment was carried out. By means of high speed conveyer belts, coal and gangue impacted the breaking board at high speeds ranging from 6 to 14 m/s. Given the differences of hardness between coal and gangue, after selective crushing, the gangue with the higher hardness was crushed less and coal with lower hardness crushed more, which could be separated by a 50 mm sieving plate. The material above the sieving plate was disposed of as gangue and the material below as coal. The results indicate that the crush ratio below the 50 mm sieving plate increases linearly with an increase in impact velocity and decays exponentially with an increase in hardness. Employing this equipment to separate coal and gangue, the hardness of coal f should be <2. | 3 | Bifurcation analyses and hardware experiments for bursting dynamics in non-autonomous memristive FitzHugh-Nagumo circuit显示文摘In this paper,a non-autonomous memristive Fitz Hugh-Nagumo(FHN)circuit is constructed using a second-order memristive diode bridge with LC network.For convenience of circuit implementation,an AC voltage source is adopted to substitute the original AC current stimulus.Stimulated by the slowly varying AC voltage source,the number,locations and stabilities of the equilibrium points slowly evolve with the time,which are thus indicated as the AC equilibrium points.Different sequences of fold and/or Hopf bifurcations are encountered in a full period of time series evolutions,leading to various kinds of chaotic or periodic bursting activities.To figure out the related bifurcation mechanisms,the fold and Hopf bifurcation sets are mathematically formulated to locate the critical bifurcation points.On this basis,the transitions between the resting and repetitive spiking states are clearly illustrated by the time series of the AC equilibrium points and state variables,from which Hopf/sub Hopf,Hopf/Hopf,and Hopf/fold bursting oscillations are identified in the specified parameter regions.Finally,based on a fabricated hardware circuit,the experimental measurements are executed.The results verify that the presented memristive FHN circuit indeed exhibits complex bursting activities,which enriches the family of memristor-based FHN circuits with bursting dynamics. | CHEN Mo QI JianWei WU HuaGan XU Quan BAO BoCheng | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,6: | 9 |
| 4 | Salt-assisted chemical vapor deposition of two-dimensional materials显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) materials with atomic thickness are promising candidates for the applications in future semiconductor devices, owing to their fascinating physical properties and superlative optoelectronic performance. Chemical vapor deposition(CVD) is considered to be an efficient method for large-scale preparation of 2D materials toward practical applications.However, the high melting points of metal precursors and the thermodynamics instabilities of metastable phases limit the direct CVD synthesis of plenty of 2D materials. The salt has recently been introduced into the CVD process, which proved to be effective to address these issues. In this review, we highlighted the latest progress in the salt-assisted CVD growth of 2D materials, including layered and non-layered crystals. Firstly, strategies of adding salts are summarized. Then, the salt-assisted growth of various layered materials is presented, emphasizing on the transition metal chalcogenides of stable and metastable phases. Furthermore, strategies to grow ultrathin non-layered materials are discussed. We provide viewpoints into the techniques of using salt, the effects of salt, and the growth mechanisms of 2D crystals. | 5 | Characterization of 500 Chinese patients with cervical esophageal cancer by clinicopathological and treatment outcomes显示文摘Objective: There are no comprehensive studies on survival outcomes and optimal treatment protocols for cervical esophageal cancer(CEC), due to its rare clinical prevalence. Our objective was to determine the relationship between pathological characteristics, treatment protocols, and survival outcomes in Chinese CEC patients.Methods: A total of 500 Chinese CEC patients were selected from our 500,000 esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma database(1973–2018). There were two main groups: patients treated with surgery, and patients receiving non-surgical treatments(radiotherapy, radiochemotherapy, and chemotherapy). The Chi-square test and Kaplan–Meier method were used to compare the continuous variables and survival.Results: Among the 500 CEC patients, 278(55.6%) were male, and the median age was 60.9 ± 9.4 years. A total of 496 patients(99.2%) were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. In 171(34.2%) patients who received surgery, 22(12.9%) had undergone laryngectomy. In 322(64.4%) patients who received non-surgical treatments, 245(76.1%) received radiotherapy. Stratified survival analysis showed that only T stage was related with survival outcomes for CEC patients in the surgical group, and the outcomes between laryngectomy and non-laryngectomy patients were similar. It was noteworthy that the 5-year survival rate was similar in CEC patients among the different groups treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or radiochemotherapy(P = 0.244). Conclusions: The CEC patients had similar survival outcomes after curative esophagectomy and radiotherapy, including those with or without total laryngectomy. | 15 | Turning a hot spot into a cold spot:polarization-controlled Fano-shaped local-field responses probed by a quantum dot显示文摘Optical nanoantennas can convert propagating light to local fields.The local-field responses can be engineered to exhibit nontrivial features in spatial,spectral and temporal domains,where local-field interferences play a key role.Here,we design nearly fully controllable local-field interferences in the nanogap of a nanoantenna,and experimentally demonstrate that in the nanogap,the spectral dispersion of the local-field response can exhibit tuneable Fano lineshapes with nearly vanishing Fano dips.A single quantum dot is precisely positioned in the nanogap to probe the spectral dispersions of the local-field responses.By controlling the excitation polarization,the asymmetry parameter q of the probed Fano lineshapes can be tuned from negative to positive values,and correspondingly,the Fano dips can be tuned across a broad spectral range.Notably,at the Fano dips,the local-field intensity is strongly suppressed by up to ~50-fold,implying that the hot spot in the nanogap can be turned into a cold spot.The results may inspire diverse designs of local-field responses with novel spatial distributions,spectral dispersions and temporal dynamics,and expand the available toolbox for nanoscopy,spectroscopy,nano-optical quantum control and nanolithography. | Juan Xia Jianwei Tang Fanglin Bao Yongcheng Sun Maodong Fang Guanjun Cao Julian Evans Sailing He | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Multifunctional anchoring of O-ligands for high-performance and stable inverted perovskite solar cells显示文摘Functional additives have recently been regarded as emerging candidates to improve the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Herein,nicotinamide(N),2-chloronicotinamide(2Cl),and 6-chloronicotinamide(6Cl)were employed as O-ligands to facilitate the deposition of MAPbI_(3)(MA=methylammonium)and MA-free FA_(0.88)Cs_(0.12)PbI_(2.64)Br_(0.36)(FA=formamidinium)perovskite films by multifunctional anchoring.By density functional theory(DFT)calculations and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy(UPS)measurements,it is identified that the highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)level for additive modified MAPbI_(3)perovskite could reduce the voltage deficit for hole extraction.Moreover,due to the most favorable charge distribution and significant improvements in charge mobility and defect passivation,the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 2Cl-MAPbI_(3)PSCs was significantly improved from 19.32%to 21.12%.More importantly,the two-dimensional grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering(GIWAXS)analysis showed that PbI_(2) defects were effectively suppressed and femtosecond transient absorption(TA)spectroscopy demonstrated that the trap-assisted recombination at grain boundaries was effectively inhibited in the 2Cl-MA-free film.As a result,the thermally stable 2Cl-MA-free PSCs achieved a remarkable PCE of 23.13%with an open-circuit voltage(V_(oc))of 1.164 V and an ultrahigh fill factor(FF)of 85.7%.Our work offers a practical strategy for further commercializing stable and efficient PSCs. | Lisha Xie Xuhong Zhao Jianwei Wang Jun Li Chang Liu Shurong Wang Qinye Bao Mengjin Yang Xiaobin Niu Feng Hao Ziyi Ge | 2023 | InfoMat2023,5,2: | 0 |
