| 6 | Changes of Temperature and Precipitation Extremes in Hengduan Mountains,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in 1961-2008显示文摘Variations and trends in extreme climate events are more sensitive to climate change than the mean values,and so have received much attention.In this study,twelve indices of temperature extremes and 11 indices of precipitation extremes at 32 meteorological stations in Hengduan Mountains were examined for the period 1961-2008.The results reveal statistically significant increases in the temperature of the warmest and coldest nights and in the frequencies of extreme warm days and nights.Decreases of the diurnal temperature range and the numbers of frost days and ice days are statistically significant.Regional averages of growing season length also display the trends consistent and significant with warming.At a large proportion of the stations,patterns of temperature extremes are consistent with warming since 1961:warming trends in minimum temperature indices are greater than those relating to maximum temperature.As the center of the Shaluli Mountain,the warming magnitudes decrease from inner to outer.Changes in precipitation extremes is low:trends are difficult to detect against the larger inter-annual and decadal-scale variability of precipitation,and only the wet day precipitation and the regional trend in consecutive dry days are significant at the 0.05 level.It can be concluded that the variation of extreme precipitation events is not obvious in the Hengduan Mountains,however,the regional trends generally decrease from the south to the north.Overall,the spatial distribution of temporal changes of all extreme climate indices in the Hengduan Mountains illustrated here reflects the climatic complexity in mountainous regions. | NING Baoying YANG Xiaomei CHANG Li | 2012 | Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,4: | 14 |

| 9 | Synoptic-scale variation of δ^(18)O in summer monsoon rainfall at Lijiang, China显示文摘Based on the daily δ^(18)O data in June―September 2003 at Lijiang and the daily mean NCEP/ NCAR reanalysis data, synoptic-scale variation of δ^(18)O in summer monsoon rainfall was investigated. The 'precipitation amount effect' is obvious for the daily δ^(18)O variation, whereas the 'temperature effect' is insignificant. Alternate occurrences of active phase and break phase of the southwest monsoon probably influence the synoptic-scale δ^(18)O variation prominently. Moreover, the isotopic composition in precipitation during the late monsoon months is presumably influenced significantly by recycling of monsoon precipitation. Both the above factors disturb the 'amount effect' of isotopic variation in the monsoon region. This study also indicates that the synoptic-scale rainfall δ^(18)O variation at Lijiang in summer is domi-nated by the Indian monsoon depression (low pressure) system at large scale. | 14 | DNA sensing and associated type 1 interferon signaling contributes to progression of radiation-induced liver injury显示文摘Liver damage upon exposure to ionizing radiation(IR),whether accidental or therapeutic,can contribute to liver dysfunction.Currently,radiotherapy(RT)is used for various cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC);however,the treatment dose is limited by radiation-induced liver disease(RILD)with a high mortality rate.Furthermore,the precise molecular mechanisms of RILD remain poorly understood.Here,we investigated RILD pathogenesis using various knockout mouse strains subjected to whole-liver irradiation.We found that hepatocytes released a large quantity of double-stranded DNA(dsDNA)after irradiation.The cGAS-STING pathway in non-parenchymal cells(NPCs)was promptly activated by this dsDNA,causing interferon(IFN)-I production and release and concomitant hepatocyte damage.Genetic and pharmacological ablation of the IFN-I signaling pathway protected against RILD.Moreover,clinically irradiated human peri-HCC liver tissues exhibited substantially higher STING and IFNβexpression than non-irradiated tissues.Increased serum IFNβconcentrations post-radiation were associated with RILD development in patients.These results delineate cGAS-STING induced type 1 interferon release in NPCs as a key mediator of IR-induced liver damage and described a mechanism of innate-immunity-driven pathology,linking cGAS-STING activation with amplification of initial radiation-induced liver injury. | Shisuo Du Genwen Chen Baoying Yuan Yong Hu Ping Yang Yixing Chen Qianqian Zhao Jian Zhou Jia Fan Zhaochong Zeng | 2021 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7: | 4 |

Autophagy is a form of cell death that also has neuroprotective effects. Cell Counting Kit assay, monodansylcadaverine staining, flow cytometry, western blotting, and real-time PCR were used to determine the effects of exogenous adenosine triphosphate treatment at different concentrations(2, 4, 6, 8, 10 mmol/L) over time(1, 2, 3, and 6 hours) on the apoptosis and autophagy of SH-SY5 Y cells. High concentrations of extracellular adenosine triphosphate induced autophagy and apoptosis of SH-SY5 Y cells. The enhanced autophagy first appeared, and peaked at 1 hour after treatment with adenosine triphosphate. Cell apoptosis peaked at 3 hours, and persisted through 6 hours. With prolonged exposure to the adenosine triphosphate treatment, the fraction of apoptotic cells increased. | 20 | Isolation and Characterization of Monkeypox Virus from the First Case of Monkeypox—Chongqing Municipality,China,2022显示文摘Introduction:The first imported case of monkeypox(MPX)from the mainland of China was reported in September 2022.Herein,the study reports the isolation and characterization of MPX virus(MPXV)in this case.Methods:Clinical specimens including skin blister fluid,oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs,and blood were collected and inoculated onto Vero cells.The isolated virus was identified as MPXV using quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),cytopathic effects(CPEs),immunofluorescence assay(IFA)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Plaque assays were employed to quantify infectious plaque-forming units(PFUs).The plaque reduction neutralization test(PRNT)was developed to determine the neutralizing antibody(nAb)against MPXV.Results:MPXV replication was confirmed with qPCR.Typical CPEs were observed 48 h postincubation.The isolated virus was named MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.IFA showed that MPXV reacted with serum of MPX case.Orthopoxvirus morphology was observed using TEM.The virus titer increased to>106 PFU/mL after three passages.The serum PRNT 50%neutralization titer(NT50)was 35 for the MPX patient 6 days after symptom onset.Discussion:The study successfully isolated the first MPXV strain in the mainland of China,MPXV-B.1-China-C-Tan-CQ01.Infectious titration and PRNT methods have been developed.The study provides key resources and technical platforms for further research as well as anti-viral drug and vaccine development against MPX. | Baoying Huang Hua Zhao Jingdong Song Li Zhao Yao Deng Wen Wang Roujian Lu Wenling Wang Jiao Ren Fei Ye Houwen Tian Guizhen Wu Hua Ling Wenjie Tan | 2022 | China CDC weekly2022,4,46: | 3 |
