| 1 | Methane and nitrous oxide concentration and emission flux of Yangtze Delta plain river net显示文摘Methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) saturation concentration and gas-water interface emission flux in surface water of the Yangtze Delta plain river net were investigated in summer at representative sites including the upper reaches of the Huangpu River and the rivers in the Chongming Island. The results show that the CH4 concentration in river water ranged from 0.30±0.03 to 6.66±0.14 μmol.L-1, and N2O concentration ranged from 13.8±2.33 to 435±116 nmol.L-1. River surface water had a very high satura- tion level of CH4 (from 468±49.0% to 11560±235%) and that of N2O (from 175±29.5% to 4914±1304%). Dissolved oxygen (DO) was the primary factor controlling the CH4 concentration in water. N2O concentration had significant negative correlation with salinity and a significant positive correlation with nitrate (NO3-), nitrite (NO2-), chemical oxygen demand (CODcr) concentration and pH of river water. CH4 and N2O of river water were brought about mainly by methanogenesis and denitrification in river bottom sediment that diffused through sediment-water interface into the water body and then into atmosphere through the gas-water interface. The emission flux of CH4 and N2O at river gas-water interface reached 778±59.8 and 236±63.6 μmol.m-2.h-1, respectively in summer. | 2 | An energy efficiency clustering routing protocol for WSNs in confined area显示文摘Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are important application for safety monitoring in underground coal mines, which are difficult to monitor due to natural conditions. Based on the characteristic of limited energy for WSNs in confined underground area such as coal face and laneway, we presents an energy- efficient clustering routing protocol based on weight (ECRPW) to prolong the lifetime of networks. ECRPW takes into consideration the nodes' residual energy during the election process of cluster heads. The constraint of distance threshold is used to optimize cluster scheme. Furthermore, the protocol also sets up a routing tree based on cluster heads' weight. | 3 | Biological Activity and Antibacterial Property of Nano-structured TiO_2 Coating Incorporated with Cu Prepared by Micro-arc Oxidation显示文摘Micro-arc oxidized Cu-incorporated TiO2 coatings(Cu—TiO2) were prepared in the Ca,P,Cu-containing electrolyte to obtain an implant material with superior biological activity and antibacterial property.The surface topography,phase,and element composition of the TiO2 and Cu—TiO2 coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDS),respectively.Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus) was selected to evaluate the antibacterial property of the Cu—TiO2 coatings,whereas osteoblastic MG63 cells were cultured on the coatings to investigate the biological activity.The obtained results demonstrated that Cu element was successfully incorporated into the porous nano-structured TiO2 coatings,which did not alter apparently the surface topography and phase composition of the coatings as compared to the Cu-free TiO2 coatings.Moreover,the antibacterial studies suggested that the Cu-incorporated TiO2 coatings could significantly inhibit the adhesion of S.aureus.In addition,the in vitro biological evaluation displayed that the adhesion,proliferation and differentiation of MG63 cells on the Cu-incorporated coatings were enhanced as compared to those on the Cu-free coatings and Ti plates.In conclusion,the innovative Cu-incorporated nano-structured TiO2 coatings on Ti substrate with excellent antibacterial property and biological activity are promising candidates for orthopedic implant. | Wei Zhu Zhenxiang Zhang Beibei Gu Junying Sun Lixian Zhu | 2013 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,3: | 8 |
| 4 | sLe^(x) expression in invasive micropapillary breast carcinoma is associated with poor prognosis and can be combined with MUC1/EMA as a supplementary diagnostic indicator显示文摘Objective: Mucin 1(MUC1/EMA) and sialyl Lewis X(sLe^(x)) indicate polarity reversal in invasive micropapillary carcinoma(IMPC). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the expression of MUC1/EMA and sLe^(x) and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic value in patients with IMPC.Methods: The expression of sLe^(x) and MUC1/EMA in 100 patients with IMPC and a control group of 89 patients with invasive ductal carcinoma not otherwise specified(IDC-NOS) were analyzed with IHC. Fresh tumor tissues were collected from patients with IMPC or IDC-NOS for primary culture and immunofluorescence analysis.Results: The rate of nodal metastasis was higher in patients with IMPC than those with IDC-NOS, and IMPC cells tended to express more sLe^(x) and MUC1/EMA in the cytomembranes(the stroma-facing surfaces of the micropapillary clusters) than IDC-NOS cells. In IMPC, high cytomembrane expression of sLe^(x), but not MUC1/EMA, indicated poor prognosis. In addition, among the 100 patients with IMPC, 10 patients had sLe^(x)+/EMA-expression patterns, and 8 patients had sLe^(x)-/EMA+ expression patterns. The primary IMPC cells were suspended, non-adherent tumor cell clusters, whereas the primary IDC cells were adherent tumor cells. | 5 | Redundant CAMTA Transcription Factors Negatively Regulate the Biosynthesis of Salicylic Acid and N-Hydroxypipecolic Acid by Modulating the Expression of SARD1 and CBP60g显示文摘Two signal molecules, salicylic acid (SA) and N-hydroxypipecolic acid (NHP), play critical roles in plant immunity. The biosynthetic genes of both compounds are positively regulated by master immune-regulating transcription factors SARD1 and CBP60g. However, the relationship between the SA and NHP pathways is unclear. CALMODULIN-BINDING TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR 1 (CAMTA1), CAMTA2, and CAMTA3 are known redundant negative regulators of plant immunity, but the underlying mechanism also remains largely unknown. In this study, through chromatin immunoprecipitation and electrophoretic mobility shift assays, we uncovered that CBP60g is a direct target of CAMTA3, which also negatively regulates the expression of SARD1, presumably via an indirect effect. The autoimmunity of camta3-1 is suppressed by sard1 cbp60g double mutant as well as ald1 and fmo1, two single mutants defective in NHP biosynthesis. Interestingly, a suppressor screen conducted in the camta1/ 2/ 3 triple mutant background yielded various mutants blocking biosynthesis or signaling of either SA or NHP, leading to nearly complete suppression of the extreme autoimmunity of camta1/ 2/ 3, suggesting that the SA and NHP pathways can mutually amplify each other. | 8 | TAA family contributes to auxin production during de novo regeneration of adventitious roots from Arabidopsis leaf explants显示文摘Many differentiated plant organs have the ability to regenerate into a new plant after detachment via de novo organogenesis. During de novo root organogenesis from Arabidopsis thaliana leaf explants, wounding first induces endogenous auxin production in mesophyll cells. Auxin is then polar transported to, and accumulates in, regenerationcompetent cells near the wound to trigger the cell-fate transition. The TRYPTOPHAN AMINOTRANSFERASE OF ARABIDOPSIS(TAA) family proteins and the YUCCA(YUC) family proteins catalyze two successive biochemical steps in auxin biogenesis, and YUCs have been shown to be involved in auxin production in mesophyll cells during de novo root organogenesis. In thisstudy, we show that the TAA family is also required for adventitious rooting. Inhibition of TAA blocked adventitious root formation from leaf explants. Intriguingly,whereas YUC1 and YUC4 have been shown to be highly induced by wounding, TAA genes retained consistent expression levels before and after leaf detachment.Therefore, we suggest that TAAs and YUCs are both required for auxin biogenesis in leaf explants, but they play different roles in regeneration. | 9 | Design of near-α Ti alloys via a cluster formula approach and their high-temperature oxidation resistance显示文摘The multi-component composition characteristics of high-temperature near-α Ti alloys were investigated in the present work by means of a cluster formula approach. The uniform cluster formula [CN12 cluster](glue atom)3 for the hexagonal close-packed α solid solution was first obtained based on the Friedel oscillation theory, with a total atom number in the formula of Z = 16. Then it was analyzed that the Z values in the cluster composition formulas of typical near-α Ti alloys are within the range of Z = 16.0016.30, being perfectly consistent with the ideal Z = 16. Based on it, a series of new alloys with Z = 16 and with Nb/Ta substitution for Mo in Ti1100 alloy were designed, suction-cast into φ 6 mm rods, and then heat-treated with solid solution and aging. It was found that the alloy with co-addition of Mo, Ta and Nb has a high strength and good ductility at both room and high temperatures. More importantly, the additions of Nb and Ta can contribute to the formation of continuous and compact Al2O3 scales, resulting in an obvious improvement of oxidation resistances at both 923 K and 1073 K. | 19 | Genotypes Diversity of Acute Gastroenteritis Outbreaks Caused by Human Sapovirus-Beijing Municipality,China,2015-2021显示文摘Introduction:Human sapovirus(HuSaV)is an enteric virus responsible for sporadic cases and outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis(AGE)globally.A seven-year active surveillance study was conducted to investigate the molecular epidemiology of HuSaVs associated with AGE outbreaks in Chaoyang District of Beijing Municipality,China from January 2015 to December 2021.Methods:Fecal and anal swab samples were obtained from patients experiencing AGE outbreaks.HuSaVs were identified through reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),and partial viral protein 1(VP1)sequences(approximately 434 base pairs)were utilized for genotyping,single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)analysis,and phylogenetic examination.Results:HuSaVs were identified in 71 AGE outbreaks,demonstrating a detection rate of 10.5%,second only to norovirus.The primary demographic affected by HuSaV were children under the age of 5 in kindergarten settings.Infection rates tended to peak during two distinct periods:May to June and September to December.Upon genotyping,seven distinct genotypes emerged.GII.3 was the most prevalent,accounting for 54.9%of cases,followed by GI.1(12.7%),GI.2(9.9%),GII.5(7.0%),GI.5(2.8%),GI.6(1.4%),GII.1(1.4%),and untyped cases(9.9%).A phylogenetic analysis of GII.3 identified three distinct groups,with 15 notable SNPs observed.Conclusions:This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the persistent prevalence of HuSaV outbreaks in Chaoyang District,Beijing Municipality,China.Over time,the diversity of HuSaV subtypes has shifted,and it is now recognized as the second leading viral agent responsible for AGE outbreaks.This highlights the importance of ongoing surveillance in the future. | Yang Jiao Taoli Han Xiao Qi Yan Gao Jianhong Zhao Yue Zhang Beibei Li Zheng Zhang Jialiang Du Lingli Sun | 2023 | China CDC weekly2023,5,28: | 1 |
| 20 | Combined zero valent iron and hydrogen peroxide conditioning significantly enhances the dewaterability of anaerobic digestate显示文摘The importance of enhancing sludge dewaterability is increasing due to the considerable impact of excess sludge volume on disposal costs and on overall sludge management. This study presents an innovative approach to enhance dewaterability of anaerobic digestate(AD) harvested from a wastewater treatment plant. The combination of zero valent iron(ZVI, 0–4.0 g/g total solids(TS)) and hydrogen peroxide(HP, 0–90 mg/g TS) under pH 3.0 significantly enhanced the AD dewaterability. The largest enhancement of AD dewaterability was achieved at 18 mg HP/g TS and 2.0 g ZVI/g TS, with the capillary suction time reduced by up to 90%. Economic analysis suggested that the proposed HP and ZVI treatment has more economic benefits in comparison with the classical Fenton reaction process.
