1Confined van der Waals Epitaxial Growth of Two-Dimensional Large Single-Crystal In_(2)Se_(3) for Flexible Broadband Photodetectors显示文摘The controllable growth of two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors with large domain sizes and high quality is much needed in order to reduce the detrimental efect of grain boundaries on device performance but has proven to be challenging.Here,we analyze the precursor concentration on the substrate surface which signifcantly infuences nucleation density in a vapor deposition growth process and design a confned micro-reactor to grow 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with large domain sizes and high quality.Te uniqueness of this confned micro-reactor is that its size is∼102-103 times smaller than that of a conventional reactor.Such a remarkably small reactor causes a very low precursor concentration on the substrate surface,which reduces nucleation density and leads to the growth of 2D In_(2)Se_(3) grains with sizes larger than 200�m.Our experimental results show large domain sizes of the 2D In_(2)Se_(3) with high crystallinity.Te fexible broadband photodetectors based on the as-grown In_(2)Se_(3) show rise and decay times of 140 ms and 25 ms,efcient response(5.6 A/W),excellent detectivity(7×10^(10) Jones),high external quantum efciency(251%),good fexibility,and high stability.Tis study,in principle,provides an efective strategy for the controllable growth of high quality 2D materials with few grain boundaries.Lei Tang Changjiu Teng Yuting Luo Usman Khan Haiyang Pan Zhengyang Cai Yue Zhao Bilu Liu Hui-Ming Cheng 2019Research2019,,1:7

3JNK3 involvement in nerve cell apoptosis and neurofunctional recovery after traumatic brain injury显示文摘Increasing evidence has revealed that the activation of the JNK pathway participates in apoptosis of nerve cells and neurological function recovery after traumatic brain injury. However, which genes in the JNK family are activated and their role in traumatic brain injury remain unclear. Therefore, in this study, in situ end labeling, reverse transcription-PCR and neurological function assessment were adopted to investigate the alteration of JNK1, JNK2 and JNK3 gene expression in cerebral injured rats, and their role in cell apoptosis and neurological function restoration. Results showed that JNK3 expression significantly decreased at 1 and 6 hours and 1 and 7 days post injury, but that JNK1 and JNK2 expression remained unchanged. In addition, the number of apoptotic nerve cells surrounding the injured cerebral cortex gradually reduced over time post injury. The Neurological Severity Scores gradually decreased over 1, 3, 5, 14 and 28 days post injury. These findings suggested that JNK3 expression was downregulated at early stages of brain injury, which may be associated with apoptosis of nerve cells. 4Serological Investigation of Laboratory-Confirmed and Suspected Ebola Virus Disease Patients During the Late Phase of the Ebola Outbreak in Sierra Leone显示文摘This study aimed to investigate the serological characteristics of Ebola virus(EBOV) infection during the late phase of the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. In total, 877 blood samples from 694 suspected Ebola virus disease(EVD) cases assessed from March to December 2015, were analyzed via real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) for viral RNA and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and Luminex to detect antibodies against EBOV. Viral load and EBOV-specific IgM/IgG titers displayed a declining trend during March to December 2015. Viral RNA load decreased rapidly at earlier stages after disease onset, while EBOV-specific IgM and IgG still persisted in 58.1%(18/31) and 93.5%(29/31) of the confirmed EVD patients and in 3.8%(25/663) and 17.8%(118/663) of the RNA-negative suspected patients in the later phase, respectively. 5The circFASN/miR-33a pathway participates in tacrolimusinduced dysregulation of hepatic triglyceride homeostasis显示文摘Dyslipidemia exhibits a high incidence after liver transplantation,in which tacrolimus,a widely used immunosuppressant,plays a fundamental role.MicroRNAs and related circRNAs represent a class of noncoding RNAs that have been recognized as important regulators of genes associated with lipid metabolism.However,their transcriptional activities and functional mechanisms in tacrolimus-related dyslipidemia remain unclear.In this study,we observed that tacrolimus could induce triglyceride accumulation in hepatocytes by stimulating sterol response element-binding proteins(SREBPs)and miR-33a.Our in silico and experimental analyses identified miR-33a as a direct target of circFASN.Tacrolimus could downregulate circFASN and result in elevated miR-33a in vivo and in vitro.Overexpression of circFASN or silencing of miR-33a decreased the promoting effects of tacrolimus on triglyceride accumulation.Clinically,the incidence of dyslipidemia in liver transplant recipients with elevated serum miR-33a after liver transplantation was higher than that in patients without elevated serum miR-33a(46.3%vs.18.8%p=0.012,n=73).Our results showed that the circFASN/miR-33a regulatory system plays a distinct role in tacrolimus-induced disruption of lipid homeostasis.MiR-33a is likely a risk factor for tacrolimus-related dyslipidemia,providing a potential therapeutic target to combat tacrolimus-induced dyslipidemia after liver transplantation.Chenzhi Zhang Kangchen Chen Rongli Wei Guanghan Fan Xuechun Cai Li Xu Beini Cen Jianguo Wang Haiyang Xie Shusen Zheng Xiao Xu 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:2
6Visualizing large-scale high-dimensional data via hierarchical embedding of KNN graphs显示文摘Visualizing intrinsic structures of high-dimensional data is an essential task in data analysis.Over the past decades,a large number of methods have been proposed.Among all solutions,one promising way for enabling effective visual exploration is to construct a k-nearest neighbor(KNN)graph and visualize the graph in a low-dimensional space.Yet,state-of-the-art methods such as the LargeVis still suffer from two main problems when applied to large-scale data:(1)they may produce unappealing visualizations due to the non-convexity of the cost function;(2)visualizing the KNN graph is still time-consuming.In this work,we propose a novel visualization algorithm that leverages a multilevel representation to achieve a high-quality graph layout and employs a cluster-based approximation scheme to accelerate the KNN graph layout.Experiments on various large-scale datasets indicate that our approach achieves a speedup by a factor of five for KNN graph visualization compared to LargeVis and yields aesthetically pleasing visualization results.Haiyang Zhu Minfeng Zhu Yingchaojie Feng Deng Cai Yuanzhe Hu Shilong Wu Xiangyang Wu Wei Chen 2021Visual Informatics2021,5,2:2

11A Plasmonic Mass Spectrometry Approach for Detection of Small Nutrients and Toxins显示文摘Nutriology relies on advanced analytical tools to study the molecular compositions of food and provide key information on sample quality/safety. Small nutrients detection is challenging due to the high diversity and broad dynamic range of molecules in food samples, and a further issue is to track low abundance toxins. Herein, we developed a novel plasmonic matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI MS)approach to detect small nutrients and toxins in complex biological emulsion samples. Silver nanoshells(SiO_2@-Ag) with optimized structures were used as matrices andachieved direct analysis of ~ 6 n L of human breast milk without any enrichment or separation. We performed identification and quantitation of small nutrients and toxins with limit-of-detection down to 0.4 pmol(for melamine) and reaction time shortened to minutes, which is superior to the conventional biochemical method currently in use. 16Mitochondrial dysfunction in a rat model and the related risk of metabolic disorders显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore whether kidney Yang deficiency(KYD)is prone to metabolic disorders may be linked to impaired mitochondrial function in thermogenesis and metabolic tissues.METHODS:A rat model of KYD was used,which was established using Sprague Dawley rat dams with warm preference subjected to herbal treatment that can improve kidney Yang.The human relevance was confirmed by reduced serum corticosterone levels,and increased preference for warm location.RESULTS:KYD Rats were underdeveloped.Adenosinetriphosphate(ATP)production was reduced in the brown fat,but increased in the muscle.However,oxidative phosphorylated complexes to generate ATP and mitochondrial biogenesis marker were reduced in both tissues.When the second insult of high-fat diet(HFD)was introduced,KYD rats gained less weight yet developed more severe lipid and glucose metabolic disorders.This may be driven by disregulated liver gluconeogenesis marker forkhead box protein O1 and lipid metabolic regulator cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase.CONCLUSION:KYD rats exhibited reduced mitochondrial function in the brown fat,but were partially compensated by skeletal muscle,associated with the phenotype of warm preference and metabolic disorder,which was further exacerbated by additional HFD consumption.Future studies can focus on treatment targetting mitochondria function to reverse this phenotype.LI Han HUANG Xiaomin CAI Haiyang HEROK George HE Jing SU Yixun LI Weihong YI Chenju OLIVER Brian G CHEN Hui 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1:0
17Analysis of results of two kinds of hemi-pelvic arthroplasty after wide resection of pelvic tumors显示文摘Objective The Patients with pelvic tumors were treated with tumor resection,hemi-pelvic allografting or artificial hemi-pelvic replacement for the improvement of their life quality.Methods Seven cases of pelvic tumor were treated with wide resection and hemi-pelvic allografting,and 35 cases with resection of pelvic tumors and artificial hemi-pelvic replacement.Results These 42 cases were all successfully operated upon without operative mortality.The results of long term following-up of 2.5 to 12 years(mean 5.4 years)showed that the increased and satisfactory functional recovery(50.0%).Conclusion Hemi-pelvic allografting or artificial hemi-pelvic replacement after wide resection of pelvic tumors can improve the survival rate of patients,as well as reconstruction of the pelvis and the hip joint with satisfactory function.Gong Haiyang Zheng Longpo Tao Yingying Cai Zhengdong 2011Journal of Medical Colleges of PLA(China)2011,26,3:0
18Correlation between boson peak and thermal expansion manifested by physical aging and high pressure显示文摘We investigate the effects of high pressure and physical aging on the boson peak and thermal expansion of a typical metallic glass. Specifically, the thermal expansion coefficient and boson peak intensity monotonically decrease during physical aging.With the increase of high pressure, the boson peak intensity and the thermal expansion coefficient coincidently experience an incipient decrease and then a subsequent increase. The boson peak intensity shows an approximately linear relationship with the thermal expansion coefficient. The thermal expansion can be affected by structural relaxation or rejuvenation, which can reflect the flow units variation and atomic packing of a metallic glass. 19VAMP726 from maize and Arabidopsis confers pollen resistance to heat and UV radiation by influencing lignin content of sporopollenin显示文摘Sporopollenin in the pollen cell wall protects male gametophytes from stresses.Phenylpropanoid derivatives,including guaiacyl(G)lignin units,are known to be structural components of sporopollenin,but the exact composition of sporopollenin remains to be fully resolved.We analyzed the phenylpropanoid derivatives in sporopollenin from maize and Arabidopsis by thioacidolysis coupled with nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(GC–MS).The NMR and GC–MS results confirmed the presence of p-hydroxyphenyl(H),G,and syringyl(S)lignin units in sporopollenin from maize and Arabidopsis.Strikingly,H units account for the majority of lignin monomers in sporopollenin from these species.We next performed a genome-wide association study to explore the genetic basis of maize sporopollenin composition and identified a vesicle-associated membrane protein(ZmVAMP726)that is strongly associated with lignin monomer composition of maize sporopollenin.Genetic manipulation of VAMP726 affected not only lignin monomer composition in sporopollenin but also pollen resistance to heat and UV radiation in maize and Arabidopsis,indicating that VAMP726 is functionally conserved in monocot and dicot plants.Our work provides new insight into the lignin monomers that serve as structural components of sporopollenin and characterizes VAMP726,which affects sporopollenin composition and stress resistance in pollen.Wenqi Yang Dongdong Yao Haiyang Duan Junli Zhang Yaling Cai Chen Lan Bing Zhao Yong Mei Yan Zheng Erbing Yang Xiaoduo Lu Xuehai Zhang Jihua Tang Ke Yu Xuebin Zhang 2023Plant Communications2023,4,6:0
