| 4 | Activation of β-catenin signaling in aggrecan-expressing cells in temporomandibular joint causes osteoarthritis-like defects显示文摘β-Catenin plays a critical role in cartilage formation and development. To further understand the role of β-catenin in osteoarthritis(OA) development in temporomandibular joint(TMJ), we have generated β-catenin conditional activation mice(β-cat(ex3)^(Agc1CreER))by breeding Agc1-CreER mice with β-catenin^(flox(ex3)/+)mice. Results of histologic analysis showed the progressive TMJ defects in 3-and 6-month-old β-cat(ex3)^(Agc1CreER)mice(tamoxifen induction was performed at 2 weeks of age), including decreased chondrocyte numbers in the superficial layer associated with less Alcian blue staining, increased numbers of hypertrophic chondrocytes in deep layers, and rough articular surface. Compared to the TMJ phenotype of β-cat(ex3)^(Col2CreER)mice, β-cat(ex3)^(Agc1CreER)mice showed much severe morphological defects in the superficial layer of TMJ. This may reflect that Agc1-CreER mice could efficiently target cells in the superficial layer of TMJ. Results of immunostaining showed significantly increased expression of MMP13, Col-X, Adamts4,and Adamts5 in TMJ of β-cat(ex3)^(Agc1CreER)mice. Results of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA), Ki67, and terminal deoxinucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP-fluorescein nick end labeling(TUNEL) staining further demonstrated that cell proliferation was decreased and cell apoptosis was increased in condylar cartilage of β-cat(ex3)^(Agc1CreER)mice. Further cost minimization and efficiency maximization, through reduction of material consumption, simplification of device fabrication as well as optimization of device structure and geometry, are required. The usage of 1D nanomaterials is attractive due to the outstanding light coupling effect, the ease of fabrication, and integration with one-dimensional(1-D) semiconductor materials. The light absorption efficiency can be enhanced significantly, and the corresponding light-toelectricity conversion efficiency can be as high as their bulk counterparts. Also, the amount of active materials used can be reduced. This review summarizes the recent development of 1-D nanomaterials for photovoltaic applications, including the anti-reflection, the light absorption,the minority diffusion, and the semiconductor junction properties. | 11 | A New Globally Reconstructed Sea Surface Temperature Analysis Dataset since 1900显示文摘A new globally reconstructed sea surface temperature(SST)analysis dataset developed by the China Meteorological Administration(CMA-SST),available on 2°×2°and monthly resolutions since 1900,is described and assessed in this study.The dataset has been constructed from a newly developed integrated dataset with denser and wider sampling of in situ SST observations and follows similar analysis techniques to the Extended Reconstructed SST,version 5(ERSST.v5).Assessments show that the larger observation quantity of the input data source is beneficial to making the reconstructed SSTs more realistic than those reconstructed with ICOADS 3.0+GTS(International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Dataset 3.0 and Global Telecommunication System),especially in China’s offshore sea area.Besides,a specific parameter for bias correction has been upgraded to be self-adaptive to the input data source,and serves as a mediator to improve the accuracy of the reconstructed SSTs.Generally,the reconstructed CMA-SST dataset is comparable to currently congeneric products.Its biases are similar to those of ERSST.v5,the Centennial Observation-Based Estimates of SST version 2(COBE-SST2),the Hadley Centre Sea Ice and SST dataset version 2(Had ISST2),and the Hadley Centre SST dataset version 3(Had SST3);and more specifically,they are closest to ERSST.v5 and lower than Had ISST2 and Had SST3 at high latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere where in situ observations are limited.Moreover,its temporal characteristics,such as the year-to-year variations of globally averaged SST anomalies and time series of the Nino-3.4,Atlantic multidecadal oscillation,and Pacific decadal oscillation indices are also a good match to those of congeneric products.Although the warming rates of CMA-SST are a little higher in many regions over the periods 1900-2019 and 1950-2019,they are found to be acceptable and within the quantified uncertainties of ERSST.v5.However,there are noticeable differences in the strength and stability of spatial standard deviations among the various datasets,as well as low correlations between CMA-SST and the other products around 60°S where in situ sampling is very limited.These aspects necessitate further investigation and improvement of CMA-SST. | Lifan CHEN Lijuan CAO Zijiang ZHOU Dongbin ZHANG Jie LIAO | 2021 | Journal of Meteorological Research2021,35,6: | 1 |

| 16 | The bright star survey telescope for the planetary transit survey in Antarctica显示文摘Transiting extrasolar planets(exoplanets),especially those orbiting bright stars, are desired for study of the diversity of planetary compositions, internal structures and atmospheres beyond our solar system. Dome A at Antarctica is a promising site for planetary transit surveys,where the continuous darkness and the large clear-sky fraction in the winter months greatly enhance the detection efficiency. The Chinese Small Telescope ARray and the Antarctic Survey Telescopes are the first facilities that have been operated at Dome A for use in exoplanet surveys. To increase the sky coverage, a low-temperature-resistant wide-field robotic telescope, named the bright star survey telescope(BSST), has been developed to join the ongoing planetary transit survey in Antarctica. The BSST has an aperture size of 300 mm and is equipped with a largeframe 4K×4K CCD camera to receive starlight from a 3.°4×3.°4 field of view. The BSST was operated at Lijiang observatory in April and May 2015 for a test run.Photometric precision of 3.5 mmag was achieved for stars with V~11 mag using 75 s exposures.
