1Pathogen Spectrum of Hand,Foot,and Mouth Disease Based on Laboratory Surveillance—China,2018显示文摘What is already known about this topic?Enterovirus 71(EV-A71)is the main causative pathogen for severe and fatal patients with Hand,Foot,and Mouth Disease(HFMD)in China's Mainland from 2008 to 2017.Non-EV-A71 and non-CV-A16(other enterovirus)serotypes were the major causativeserotypes for mild HFMD in years of 2013,2015,and 2017.What is added by this report?In 2018,other enterovirus serotypes replaced EV-A71 for the first time as the major cause of severe HFMD with a proportion of 70.7%.However,at the national level,only a small proportion of the other enterovirus serotypes were further identified as CV-A6 and CVA10.What are the limitations for public health practice?Further identification of other enterovirus serotypes is highly recommended for provincial CDCs,especially for severe HFMD.Studies contributing to a multivalent vaccine for HFMD should be prioritized.Fengfeng Liu Minrui Ren Shumin Chen Taoran Nie Jinzhao Cui Lu Ran Zhongjie Li Zhaorui Chang 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,11:8
2Differentiation of neuron-like cells from mouse parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells显示文摘Parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have pluripotent differentiation potentials,akin to fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.The aim of this study was to compare the neuronal differentiation potential of parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Before differentiation,karyotype analysis was performed,with normal karyotypes detected in both parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Sex chromosomes were identified as XX.Immunocytochemistry and quantitative real-time PCR detected high expression of the pluripotent gene,Oct4,at both the mRNA and protein levels,indicating pluripotent differentiation potential of the two embryonic stem cell subtypes.Embryonic stem cells were induced with retinoic acid to form embryoid bodies,and then dispersed into single cells.Single cells were differentiated in N2 differentiation medium for 9 days.Immunocytochemistry showed parthenogenetic and fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells both express the neuronal cell markers nestin,βIII-tubulin and myelin basic protein.Quantitative real-time PCR found expression of neurogenesis related genes(Sox-1,Nestin,GABA,Pax6,Zic5 and Pitx1) in both types of embryonic stem cells,and Oct4 expression was significantly decreased.Nestin and Pax6 expression in parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells was significantly higher than that in fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Thus,our experimental findings indicate that parthenogenetic embryonic stem cells have stronger neuronal differentiation potential than fertilized embryo-derived embryonic stem cells.Xingrong Yan Yanhong Yang Wei Liu Wenxin Geng Huichong Du Jihong Cui Xin Xie Jinlian Hua Shumin Yu Liwen Li Fulin Chen 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,4:4
3Shifting from homogeneous to heterogeneous surfaces in estimating terrestrial evapotranspiration: Review and perspectives显示文摘Terrestrial evapotranspiration(ET)is a crucial link between Earth’s water cycle and the surface energy budget.Accurate measurement and estimation remain a major challenge in geophysical,biological,and environmental studies.Pioneering work,represented by Dalton and Penman,and the development of theories and experiments on turbulent exchange in the atmospheric boundary layer(ABL),laid the foundation for mainstream methodologies in ET estimation.Since the 1990s,eddy covariance(EC)systems and satellite remote sensing have been widely applied from cold to tropical and from arid to humid regions.They cover water surfaces,wetlands,forests,croplands,grasslands,barelands,and urban areas,offering an exceptional number of reports on diverse ET processes.Surface nocturnal ET,hysteresis between ET and environmental forces,turbulence intermittency,island effects on heterogeneous surfaces,and phase transition between underlying surfaces are examples of reported new phenomena,posing theoretical and practical challenges to mainstream ET methodologies.Additionally,based on non-conventional theories,new methods have emerged,such as maximum entropy production and nonparametric approaches.Furthermore,high-frequency on-site observation and aerospace remote sensing technology in combination form multi-scale observations across plant stomata,leaves,plants,canopies,landscapes,and basins.This promotes an insightful understanding of diverse ET processes and synthesizes the common mechanisms of the processes between and across spatial and temporal scales.All the recent achievements in conception,model,and technology serve as the basis for breaking through the known difficulties in ET estimation.We expect that they will provide a rigorous,reliable scientific basis and experimental support to address theoretical arguments of global significance,such as the water-heat-carbon cycle,and solve practical needs of national importance,including agricultural irrigation and food security,precise management of water resources and eco-environmental protection,and regulation of the urban thermal environment and climate change adaptation.Yuanbo LIU Guoyu QIU Hongsheng ZHANG Yonghui YANG Yinsheng ZHANG Quan WANG Wenzhi ZHAO Li JIA Xibin JI Yujiu XIONG Chunhua YAN Ning MA Shumin HAN Yifan CUI 2022Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,2:2

10Mechanism of high-concentration electrolyte inhibiting the destructive effect of Mn(Ⅱ)on the performance of lithium-ion batteries显示文摘By optimizing electrolyte formulation to inhibit the deposition of transition metal ions(TMIs) on the surface of the graphite anode is an effective way to improve the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries.At present,it is generally believed the formation of an effective interfacial film on the surface of the anode electrode is the leading factor in reducing the dissolution of TMIs and prevent TMIs from being embedded in the electrode.It ignores the influence of the solvation structures in the electrolyte system with different composition,and is not conducive to the design of the electrolyte formulation from the perspective of changing the concentration and the preferred solvent to inhibit the degradation of battery performance caused by TMIs deposition.In this work,by analyzing the special solvation structures of the high-concentra tion electrolyte,we study the main reason why high-concentration electrolyte inhibits the destructive effect of Mn(Ⅱ) on the electrochemical performance of LIBs.By combining the potentialresolved in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technology(PRIs-EIS) and density functional theory(DFT) calculation,we find that Mn(Ⅱ) mainly exists in the form of contact ions pairs(CIPs) and aggregates(AGGs) in high-concentration electrolyte.These solvation structures can reduce the destructive effect of Mn(Ⅱ) on battery performance from two aspects:on the one hand,it can rise the lowest unoccupied orbital(LUMO) value of the solvation structures of Mn(Ⅱ),thereby reducing the chance of its reduction;on the other hand,the decrease of Mn2+ions reduction can reduce the deposition of metallic manganese in the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),thereby avoiding the continuous growth of the SEI.This study can be provided inspiration for the design of electrolytes to inhibit the destructive effect of TMls on LIBs.Xiaoling Cui Jinlong Sun Dongni Zhao Jingjing Zhang Jie Wang Hong Dong Peng Wang Junwei Zhang Shumin Wu Linhu Song Ningshuang Zhang Chunlei Li Shiyou Li 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:1

13Preparation of Polyclonal Antisera of Dairy Cow S100A12 Protein显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to prepare dairy cow anti-S100A12 antisera and develop a highly effective and sensitive immunological detection reagent for further investigation of the functions of dairy cow S100A12.[Method] Purified S100A12 protein was respectively emulsified with Freund's complete adjuvant and Freund's incomplete adjuvant as the antigen for immunizing New Zealand white rabbits to prepare the polyclonal antisera.The titer was detected using agar double diffusion assay and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the specificity was determined with Western Blot.[Result] The titer of anti-S100A12 antisera was 1∶8 as determined by agar double diffusion assay and over 1∶409 600 by ELISA.Western Blot result showed that the polyclonal antisera could be specifically combined with S100A12 protein.[Conclusion] The results indicated that anti-S100A12 polyclonal antibody with high titer and high specificity was successfully obtained, which provided a novel tool for further investigation of the functions of S100A12 gene.Suizhong CAO Yafei CUI Xueping YAO Kang YONG Jishang LI Shumin YU 2013Agricultural Biotechnology2013,2,3:0
14Function and clinical significance of SUMOylation in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma显示文摘Objective This study elucidated the function and role of SUMOylation in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma.Methods Fifty type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma cases and para-cancer tissue samples were collected.The expression levels of ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2I(Ube2 i,Ubc9) and small ubiquitin-like modifier 1(SUMO1)/sentrin-specific peptidase 1(SENP1) proteins were examined using immunohistochemistry and the correlation with clinicopathological parameters was analyzed.Results Ubc9 expression in type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in the para-cancer tissues;in contrast,the expression of the SENP1 protein was markedly lower than that in the para-cancer tissues.Ubc9 and SENP1 expression levels were negatively correlated and were associated with tumor differentiation,but not age,depth of invasion,tumor stage,and lymph node metastasis.Conclusion SUMOylation modification plays a major role in the pathogenesis and development of type Ⅰ endometrial carcinoma.Thus,it could be a potential target for the treatment of endometrial cancer.Xin Cui Caixin Zhang Yunhui Li Yongyun Qi Xiaoyan Ding Shumin Hei Weiqing Huang 2017Oncology and Translational Medicine2017,3,6:0
15Construction and Identification of Mammary Gland-specific Expression Vector of Bovine Tracheal Antimicrobial Peptide (TAP)显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to construct mammary gland-specific expression vector of bovine tracheal antimicrobial peptide (TAP) gene. [Method] TAP gene of dairy cattle was amplified from the mammary gland tissue by RT-PCR using a pair of primers which were designed according to bovine TAP cDNA sequence (NM_174776) in GenBank,and then cloned into pMD19-T Simple vector for sequencing. The recombinant plasmid was digested using EcoRⅠand KpnⅠ, the target gene fragment was recovered and inserted into general mammary gland-specific expression vector pBLG-EGFP harboring enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) ,and transfected into bovine mammary epithelial cells ( bMEC) ,COS-7 cells and lactating rabbit mammary gland tissue by lipofectin transfection. The expression of green fluorescent protein in transfected cells was detected under fluorescence microscopy,and the expression of TAP mRNA in rabbit mammary gland tissue was detected by semi-quantity RT-PCR. [Result] The constructed mammary gland-specific expression vector pBLG-EGFP-TAP specifically expressed EGFP in transfected bMECs. In addition,semi-quantitative RT-PCR result showed that the expression level of TAP mRNA in rabbit mammary gland tissue was significantly enhanced after transfected with pBLG-EGFP-TAP. 16Diversity,community structure,and quantity of eukaryotic phytoplankton revealed using 18S rRNA and plastid 16S rRNA genes and pigment markers:a case study of the Pearl River Estuary显示文摘Understanding consistencies and discrepancies in characterizing diversity and quantity of phytoplankton is essential for better modeling ecosystem change.In this study,eukaryotic phytoplankton in the Pearl River Estuary,South China Sea were investigated using nuclear 18S rRNA and plastid 16S or 23S rRNA genes and pigment analysis.It was found that 18S abundance poorly explained the variations in total chlorophyll a(Chl-a).However,the ratios of log-transformed 18S abundance to Chl-a in the major phytoplankton groups were generally environment dependent,suggesting that the ratio has potential as an indicator of the physiological state of phytoplankton.The richness of 18S-based operational taxonomic units was positively correlated with the richness of 16S-based amplicon sequence variants of the whole phytoplankton community,but insignifcant or weak for individual phytoplankton groups.Overall,the 18S based,rather than the 16S based,community structure had a greater similarity to pigment-based estimations.Relative to the pigment data,the proportion of haptophytes in the 18S dataset,and diatoms and cryptophytes in the 16S dataset,were underestimated.This study highlights that 18S metabarcoding tends to refect biomass-based community organization of eukaryotic phytoplankton.Because there were lower copy numbers of plastid 16S than 18S per genome,metabarcoding of 16S probably approximates cell abundance-based community organization.Changes in biomass organization of the pigment-based community were sensitive to environmental changes.Taken together,multiple methodologies are recommended to be applied to more accurately profle the diversity and community composition of phytoplankton in natural ecosystems.Shumin Xu Guihao Li Cui He Yi Huang Dan Yu Huiwen Deng Zhuyin Tong Yichong Wang Christine Dupuy Bangqin Huang Zhuo Shen Jie Xu Jun Gong 2023Marine Life Science & Technology2023,5,3:0
