1Mechanism on impact of internal-electrolysis pretreatment on biodegradability of yeast wastewater显示文摘The internal-electrolysis (IE) process can be used as pretreatment to improve the biodegradability of yeast wastewater. The water before and after IE pretreatment was analyzed by UV, GPC, GC-MS to determine the changes in its chemical composition. The mechanism on the improvement of biodegradability by the IE process was discussed in two aspects according to the changes of chemical composition. (i) Some reactions occurred during the IE process, such as hydrolytic reaction, cracking, and redox reaction. Thus, the cyclic structure opened and changed into chains, and the macromolecular compounds were spilt to small molecule substances. All these reactions tended to simplify the structure of molecules and increase the donating electron groups so as to improve the biodegradability. (ii) The small molecule acids and alcohols in raw water or produced by the internal electrolysis process could be removed through volatilization and electrochemical adhesion, which was conducive to the removal of COD and the improvement of biodegradability of yeast wastewater.SHI Yu LIU Hui ZHOU Xuan XIE An HU ChaoYong 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,12:6

4Speleothem annual layers revealed by seasonal SIMS δ^(18)O measurements显示文摘In-situ seasonalδ18O measurements of section 236.3–235.6 cm of speleothem HS4,from Qingjiang Valley of the Middle reaches of Yangtze River,China,were performed by an Secondary Ionization Mass Spectrometry(SIMS)with Oka(Chinese primary calcite standard GBW04481)and UWC-3(international calcite standard from University of Wisconsin).The potential of using SIMSδ18O measurements to establish speleothem time series has been explored and the differences between conventional and SIMSδ18O values have been discussed.During a 3-day period,UWC-3δ18O has been measured on Cameca IMS1280 Ion Microprobe Mass Spectrometer against'Oka'external standard.The measured mean value of UWC-3(δ18OVPDB=?17.85‰±0.22‰,1SD)matches well with its recommended value(δ18OVPDB=?17.83‰?0.08‰),suggesting that the instrument was stable.The same method applied on HS4 producedδ18O measurements at seasonal resolution with distinct annual cycles and the total cycle number in agreement with that from Mg/Ca cycles and lamination layer counting of the same section,so it offers an alternative for accessing speleothem time series.However,compared with conventionalδ18O values of HS4,SIMSδ18O values are more negative by 0.90‰with larger seasonal variation.The main reasons might come from the micro-cracks,micro-pores or liquid inclusions existing in HS4,and organic materials in the speleothem might be another factor affecting the SIMSδ18O values,indicating that to obtain reliable speleothem SIMSδ18O values,both compaction and purity of samples are crucial.LIU YuHui TANG GuoQiang LING XiaoXiao HU ChaoYong LI XianHua 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,10:3

6Antibody-engineered red blood cell interface for high-performance capture and release of circulating tumor cells显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs),as important liquid biopsy target,can provide valuable information for cancer progress monitoring and individualized treatment.However,current isolation platforms incapable of balancing capture efficiency,specificity,cell viability,and gentle release have restricted the clinical applications of CTCs.Herein,inspired by the structure and functional merits of natural membrane interfaces,we established an antibody-engineered red blood cell(RBC-Ab)affinity interface on microfluidic chip for high-performance isolation and release of CTCs.The lateral fluidity,pliability,and anti-adhesion property of the RBC microfluidic interface enabled efficient CTCs capture(96.5%),high CTCs viability(96.1%),and high CTCs purity(average 4.2-log depletion of leukocytes).More importantly,selective lysis of RBCs by simply changing the salt concentration was utilized to destroy the affinity interface for efficient and gentle release of CTCs without nucleic acid contamination.Using this chip,CTCs were successfully detected in colon cancer samples with 90%sensitivity and 100%specificity(20 patients and 10 healthy individuals).After the release process,KRAS gene mutations of CTCs were identified from all the 5 cancer samples,which was consistent with the results of tissue biopsy.We expect this RBC interface strategy will inspire further biomimetic interface construction for rare cell analysis.Haicong Shen Rui Su Jiao Peng Lin Zhu Kunyue Deng Qi Niu Yanling Song Liu Yang Lingling Wu Zhi Zhu Chaoyong Yang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,5:1

8Nucleic acids analysis显示文摘Nucleic acids are natural biopolymers of nucleotides that store, encode, transmit and express genetic information, which play central roles in diverse cellular events and diseases in living things. The analysis of nucleic acids and nucleic acids-based analysis have been widely applied in biological studies, clinical diagnosis, environmental analysis, food safety and forensic analysis.During the past decades, the field of nucleic acids analysis has been rapidly advancing with many technological breakthroughs.In this review, we focus on the methods developed for analyzing nucleic acids, nucleic acids-based analysis, device for nucleic acids analysis, and applications of nucleic acids analysis. The representative strategies for the development of new nucleic acids analysis in this field are summarized, and key advantages and possible limitations are discussed. 10Effects of Molecular Crowding on G-Quadruplex-hemin Mediated Peroxidase Activity显示文摘The concentration of macromolecules in cells can reach up to 50-400 mg/mL.They occupy 40%(volume fraction)of the whole cellar space,known as molecular crowding.The diluted solution condition in vitro is different from the crowded physiological condition in vivo.Therefore,the simulation of the physiological condition is necessary for obtaining the reliable results.It has been reported that G-quadruplex can bind to hemin to enhance its catalytic function for generating oxygen radicals,which can oxidize the lipids,proteins and DNA,thus leading to the damage of cells and tissues.In this paper,we chose PEG400 as molecular crowding reagent to simulate the molecular crowding environment in vivo.The catalytic characteristics of G-quadruplex-hemin complex in H202-ABTS system have been investigated[ABTS=2,2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate)].The results showed that the binding affinity of G-quadruplex and hemin was decreased with the increasing of PEG400 concentration.They even lose their binding affinity in the presence of 40%PEG400.As a result,the peroxidase activity of G-quadruplex-hemin also reduced.Therefore,in physiological condition,hemin might not bind to G-quadruplex and it might not be the main reason to cause the damages of cells and tissues.LIU Lu LIN Jingfang SONG Yanling YANG Chaoyong ZHU Zhi 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,2:0

12Study on Strengthening Supervision of the Third-party Laboratory by Suzhou Municipal Government显示文摘As public service testing structure of testing products,the quality of product testing report issued by the third-party laboratory has a great impact on the healthy development of market economy.In the face of the new situation of rapid economic development,the third-party laboratory develops rapidly,but the government supervision is not in place,which restricts the healthy and orderly development of the third-party laboratory.Therefore,it is very necessary to study how the government effectively supervises the third-party laboratory.This paper takes Suzhou as an example.On the basis of in-depth investigation,using the theory of service government,this paper analyzes the current situation of Suzhou municipal government’s supervision of third-party laboratories,and probes into the problems existing in the supervision and management system,the supervision is not comprehensive,and the independence of the supervision team is not strong.Based on the advanced experience of foreign countries in supervising the third-party laboratory,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to promote the Suzhou municipal government to strengthen the supervision of the third-party laboratory from the aspects of improving the implementation rules of laws and regulations,increasing the investment,strengthening the equipment update and team building,increasing the punishment for violations of laws and regulations,and giving full play to the masses and industry supervision.Chaoyong Liu Yucai Wu 2021Macro Management & Public Policies2021,3,2:0
