1Research Progress on Heat Stress of Rice at Flowering Stage显示文摘Global warming has caused frequent occurrence of heat stress at the flowering stage of single-season rice in the Yangtze River region of China, which results in declines of spikelet fertility and yield in rice. Rice flowering stage is the most sensitive period to high temperatures, and therefore, the key for heat stress happening is the flowering stage coinciding with high temperature, which causes spikelet fertility decreasing in heat-sensitive varieties, and is the major factor for heat injury differences among various rice planting regions. With the development of rice breeding, temperature indexes for heat stress has been converted from daily maximum temperature of 35 oC to 38 oC with the stress duration of more than 3 d. During the flowering stage, anther dehiscence inhibition and low pollen shedding onto the stigma are two main reasons for spikelet fertility reduction under high temperatures. At panicle initiation stage, high temperatures aggravate spikelet degeneration, and destroy floral organ development. Various types of rice varieties coexist in production, and indica-japonica hybrid rice demonstrates the highest heat resistance in general, followed by indica and japonica rice varieties. In production, avoiding high temperature is the main strategy of preventing heat stress, and planting suitable cultivars and adjustment of sowing date are the most effective measures. Irrigation is an effective real-time cultivation measure to decline the canopy temperature during the rice flowering stage. We suggested that further study should be focused on exploring heat injury differences among different rice variety types, and innovating rice-planting methods according to planting system changes in rice planting regions with extreme heat stress. 2Phugoid dynamic characteristic of hypersonic gliding vehicles显示文摘This paper focuses on the phugoid dynamic characteristic of hypersonic gliding vehicle. By regarding equilibrium glide as the fixed state of reentry trajectory, the dynamic equations are simplified and a hyper-geometric equation with a forcing function is deduced. Linearization theory is applied to analyze the characteristic of the motion, and the phugoid mode is found to be stable. An analytical solution of flight path angle as a function of speed is derived based on General Multiple Scale theory. The dynamic characteristic is analyzed, and the analytic solution is found to be in good agreement with the numerical simulation. When the initial states do not satisfy equilibrium glide condition or perturbation occurs, a damped oscillation along the equilibrium glide trajectory would occur. The damping diminishes as the speed decreases. 3Effects of two polybrominated diphenyl ethers(BDE-47,BDE-209) on the swimming behavior, population growth and reproduction of the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis显示文摘Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) are new kinds of persistent organic pollutants(POPs) and their potential threats to the equilibrium and sustainability of marine ecosystems have raised worldwide concerns. Here, two kinds of PBDEs, tetra-BDE(BDE-47)and deca-BDE(BDE-209) were applied, and their toxic effects on the swimming behavior,population growth and reproduction of Brachionus plicatilis were investigated. The results showed that:(1) The actual concentrations of BDE-47 and-209 in the seawater phase measured by GC–MS(Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer) were much lower than their nominal concentrations.(2) In accordance with the 24-hr acute tests, BDE-209 did not show any obvious swimming inhibition to rotifers, but a good correlation did exist between the swimming inhibition rate and BDE-47 concentration suggesting that BDE-47 is more toxic than BDE-209.(3) Both BDE-47 and-209 had a significant influence on the population growth and reproduction parameters of B. plicatilis including the population growth rate, the ratio of ovigerous females/non-ovigerous females(OF/NOF), the ratio of mictic females/amictic females(MF/AF), resting egg production and the mictic rate, which indicate that these parameters in B. plicatilis population were suitable for monitoring and assessing PBDEs. Our results suggest that BDE-47 and-209 are not acute lethal toxicants and may pose a low risk to marine rotifers at environmental concentrations for short-term exposure. They also accumulate differently into rotifers. 4Jixuecao(Herba Centellae Asiaticae) alleviates mesangial cell proliferation in IgA nephropathy by inducing mitofusin 2 expression显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of mitofusin 2 (Mfn2) and its downstream signaling pathway on glomerular mesangial cells (GMCs) proliferation in IgA nephropathy (IgAN),as well as the mechanism of action of Jixuecao (Herba Centellae Asiaticae,HCA) in the treatment of IgAN.METHODS:Adenovirus-mediated Mfn2 gene transfection and Mfn2 expression were analyzed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western blotting.IgA1 induced the proliferation of GMCs,which were then treated with HCA.Cell proliferation was detected with cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8),and Mfn2 expression was analyzed by real-time PCR and western blotting.An IgAN animal model was also established and treated with HCA.GMCs proliferation was detected by hematoxylin-eosin staining,mitochondrial structure was analyzed by electron microscopy,mitochondrial function was determined by the Clark oxygen electrode method,and the expression of Mfn2,Phospho-extracellular regulated protein kinases1/2 (P-ERK1/2),Cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2),Phospho-p27 (p-p27),and cyclin A was analyzed by Western blotting.RESULTS:In vitro,HCA inhibited GMCs in a concentration-dependent manner in association with the upregulation of Mfn2 expression.The overexpression of Mfn2 inhibited IgA1-induced GMCs proliferation and elevated the effect of HCA.In vivo,treatment with HCA could alleviate albuminuria and creatinine and GMCs proliferation.These effects were related to the upregulation of Mfn2,p-p27 and inhibition of p-ERK1/2,CDK2,and cyclinA.Mitochondrial swelling,vacuolar degeneration,and reduction of respiratory control rate were identified in IgAN,but HCA could improve the mitochondrial structure and function.CONCLUSION:HCA inhibited GMCs proliferation via the upregulation Mfn2 and the inhibition of Ras-Raf-ERK/MAPK.We revealed that changes of mitochondrial structure and function are associated with IgAN,but that HCA can improve these mitochondrial features.Chen Hongyu Du Yuanyuan Li Yayu Zeng Jiali Miao Jianxia Jiang Xue 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,3:6
5Chaiqin Chengqi decoction inhibits inflammatory mediators and attenuates acute pancreatitis through deactivation of janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Chaiqin Chengqi decoction(CQCQD) on acute pancreatitis(AP) by janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription(JAK/STAT) signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo.METHODS: AP was induced by caerulein both in AR42J cells and in mice. AR42J cells were divided into five groups: the control group, the AP group, the CQCQD group, JAK/STAT signaling pathway inhibitor AG490 group, and the CQCQD and AG490 group.After induction, cellular supernatant of five groups were collected for measuring the concentrations of inflammatory cytokine amylase, interleukin 6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α), interleukin 1β(IL-1β), nuclear factor κB(NF-κB) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the expression of JAK-2,STAT-3 signaling transduction proteins by Western blot, respectively. Experiments in mice were performed similar to that of in AR42J cells.RESULTS: Treatment of AR42J cells with CQCQD reduced the pancreatic injury and negatively regulated the activities of amylase, as well as inhibited expression of several inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNF-α, IL-1β, NF-κB. 6Apoptotic extracellular vesicles are metabolized regulators nurturing the skin and hair显示文摘Over 300 billion of cells die every day in the human body,producing a large number of endogenous apoptotic extracellular vesicles(apoEVs).Also,allogenic stem cell transplantation,a commonly used therapeutic approach in current clinical practice,generates exogenous apoEVs.It is well known that phagocytic cells engulf and digest apoEVs to maintain the body’s homeostasis.In this study,we show that a fraction of exogenous apoEVs is metabolized in the integumentary skin and hair follicles.Mechanistically,apoEVs activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway to facilitate their metabolism in a wave-like pattern.The migration of apoEVs is enhanced by treadmill exercise and inhibited by tail suspension,which is associated with the mechanical force-regulated expression of DKK1 in circulation.Furthermore,we show that exogenous apoEVs promote wound healing and hair growth via activation of Wnt/β-catenin pathway in skin and hair follicle mesenchymal stem cells.This study reveals a previously unrecognized metabolic pathway of apoEVs and opens a new avenue for exploring apoEV-based therapy for skin and hair disorders.Lan Ma Chider Chen Dawei Liu Zhiqing Huang Jiaqi Li Haixiang Liu Ryan Tsz Kin Kwok Benzhong Tang Bingdong Sui Xiao Zhang Jianxia Tang Xueli Mao Weiying Huang Songtao Shi Xiaoxing Kou 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:3

12Genomes of 12 fig wasps provide insights into the adaptation of pollinators to fig syconia显示文摘Figs and fig pollinators are one of the few classic textbook examples of obligate pollination mutualism.The specific dependence of fig pollinators on the relatively safe living environment with sufficient food sources in the enclosed fig syconia implies that they are vulnerable to habitat changes.However,there is still no extensive genomic evidence to reveal the evolutionary footprint of this long-term mutually beneficial symbiosis in fig pollinators.In fig syconia,there are also non-pollinator species.The non-pollinator species differ in their evolutionary and life histories from pollinators.We conducted comparative analyses on 11 newly sequenced fig wasp genomes and one previously published genome.The pollinators colonized the figs approximately 66.9 million years ago,consistent with the origin of host figs.Compared with nonpollinators,many more genes in pollinators were subject to relaxed selection.Seven genes were absent in pollinators in response to environmental stress and immune activation.Pollinators had more streamlined gene repertoires in the innate immune system,chemosensory toolbox,and detoxification system.Our results provide genomic evidence for the differentiation between pollinators and nonpollinators.The data suggest that owing to the long-term adaptation to the fig,some genes related to functions no longer required are absent in pollinators.Jinhua Xiao Xianqin Wei Yi Zhou Zhaozhe Xin Yunheng Miao Hongxia Hou Jiaxing Li Dan Zhao Jing Liu Rui Chen Liming Niu Guangchang Ma Wenquan Zhen Shunmin He Jianxia Wang Xunfan Wei Weihao Dou Zhuoxiao Sui Haikuan Zhang Shilai Xing Miao Shi Dawei Huang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,3:1

19Adversarial Neural Collaborative Filtering with Embedding Dimension Correlations显示文摘Recently,convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have achieved excellent performance for the recommendation system by extracting deep features and building collaborative filtering models.However,CNNs have been verified susceptible to adversarial examples.This is because adversarial samples are subtle non-random disturbances,which indicates that machine learning models produce incorrect outputs.Therefore,we propose a novel model of Adversarial Neural Collaborative Filtering with Embedding Dimension Correlations,named ANCF in short,to address the adversarial problem of CNN-based recommendation system.In particular,the proposed ANCF model adopts the matrix factorization to train the adversarial personalized ranking in the prediction layer.This is because matrix factorization supposes that the linear interaction of the latent factors,which are captured between the user and the item,can describe the observable feedback,thus the proposed ANCF model can learn more complicated representation of their latent factors to improve the performance of recommendation.In addition,the ANCF model utilizes the outer product instead of the inner product or concatenation to learn explicitly pairwise embedding dimensional correlations and obtain the interaction map from which CNNs can utilize its strengths to learn high-order correlations.As a result,the proposed ANCF model can improve the robustness performance by the adversarial personalized ranking,and obtain more information by encoding correlations between different embedding layers.Experimental results carried out on three public datasets demonstrate that the ANCF model outperforms other existing recommendation models.Yi Gao Jianxia Chen Liang Xiao Hongyang Wang Liwei Pan Xuan Wen Zhiwei Ye Xinyun Wu 2023Data Intelligence2023,5,3:0
20Gaussian process regression for prediction and confidence analysis of fruit traits by near-infrared spectroscopy显示文摘Detection of fruit traits by using near-infrared(NIR)spectroscopy may encounter out-of-distribution samples that exceed the generalization ability of a constructed calibration model.Therefore,confidence analysis for a given prediction is required,but this cannot be done using common calibration models of NIR spectroscopy.To address this issue,this paper studied the Gaussian process regression(GPR)for fruit traits detection using NIR spectroscopy.The mean and variance of the GPR were used as the predicted value and confidence,respectively.To show this,a real NIR data set related to dry matter content measurements in mango was used.Compared to partial least squares regression(PLSR),GPR showed approximately 14%lower root mean squared error(RMSE)for the in-distribution test set.Compared with no confidence analysis,using the variance of GPR to remove abnormal samples made GPR and PLSR showed approximately 58%and 10%lower RMSE on the mixed distribution test set,respectively(when the type 1 error rate was set to 0.1).Compared with traditional one-class classification methods,the variance of the GPR can be used to effectively eliminate poorly predicted samples.Xiaojing Chen Jianxia Xue Xiao Chen Xinyu Zhao Shujat Ali Guangzao Huang 2023Food Quality and Safety2023,7,1:0
