| 2 | SDF-1/CXCR4 axis modulates bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell apoptosis, migration and cytokine secretion显示文摘Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are considered as a promising cell source to treat the acute myocardial infarction.However,over 90%of the stem cells usually die in the first three days of transplantation.Survival potential,migration ability and paracrine capacity have been considered as the most important three factors for cell transplantation in the ischemic cardiac treatment.We hypothesized that stromal-derived factor-1(SDF-1)/CXCR4 axis plays a critical role in the regulation of these processes.In this study,apoptosis was induced by exposure of MSCs to H2O2 for 2 h.After re-oxygenation,the SDF-1 pretreated MSCs demonstrated a significant increase in survival and proliferation.SDF-1 pretreatment also enhanced the migration and increased the secretion of pro-survival and angiogenic cytokines including basic fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor.Western blot and RT-PCR demonstrated that SDF-1 pretreatment significantly activated the pro-survival Akt and Erk signaling pathways and up-regulated Bcl-2/Bax ratio.These protective effects were partially inhibited by AMD3100,an antagonist of CXCR4.We conclude that the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis is critical for MSC survival,migration and cytokine secretion. | Xiaolei Liu Biyan Duan Zhaokang Cheng Xiaohua Jia Lina Mao Hao Fu Yongzhe Che Lailiang Ou Lin Liu Deling Kong | 2011 | Protein & Cell2011,2,10: | 53 |

| 6 | Spatiotemporal characteristics of the expansion of an urban agglomeration and its effect on the eco-environment: Case study on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Urban agglomerations, which are highly integrated urban groups, form during the advanced stages of industrialization and urban development. The urban agglomeration on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains is one of the 19 urban agglomerations promoted by China’s 13th Five-Year Plan and a key area of urbanization in Xinjiang. Based on remote sensing data, we analyzed the expansion of construction land in the urban agglomeration on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains and its effect on ecological value in 1980–2015. The results show that the expansion of construction land significantly affected ecological value in the study area over the past 35 years. Among land use types, grassland was the dominant contributor to changes in ecological value;its contribution rate reached 66.27% with an interannual variation of only 5%. The contribution rate of urban and rural residential land along with industrial and mining lands was very low(0.82%), while the interannual variation was large(86%). The area of construction land in the urban agglomeration expanded from 1,067 to 2,586 km^2, and the conversions of different land use types had different effects on ecological value. Among land use types, the conversions of lowcoverage grassland and dry land made the largest contributions to changes in ecological value. During the study period, a total of 1,685 km^2 of ecological land, 69.91% of which belonged to cultivated land and grassland, was converted into construction land.A total area of 1,082 km^2 of dry land and low-coverage grassland was converted into construction land, accounting for 64.21% of the total ecological land that was converted into construction land. In 2000–2015, the area of urban construction land increased significantly along with the proportion of unused land, including gobi(172 km^2), bare land(65 km^2), and salt-affected land(65 km^2), being converted into construction land. In contrast, the area of construction land that was converted into ecological land was less than 166 km^2. The areas with the largest expansions of construction land were concentrated in Urumqi, Karamay,and Changji, where the areas of construction land increased by 399, 186, and 126 km^2, respectively. The areas with the most rapid expansions in construction land were concentrated in Kuytun, Toksun, and Usu. The environmental effects of construction land expansion and land use change were more positive in the late stage of urban agglomeration(2000–2015) compared to in the early stage(1980–2000). Kuytun City, Shihezi City, and Wujiaqu City showed large changes in ecological value caused by the expansion of construction land, whereas the changes in ecological value in the 14 other cities were relatively small, and the expansion of construction land slowed in 2000–2015 compared to in 1980–2000. In the future, further development of the urban agglomeration on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains should fully consider the sensitivity and carrying capacity of the vulnerable ecological environment in this area. | 9 | Differential Expressing of Centromere Protein CenpG in Breast Cancer显示文摘Using indirect immunofluorescence (IIF), an anti-centromere protein CenpG-serum was verified. Western blot of the protein extracts of 31 samples of breast cancer tissues and their normal (not cancerous ) tissues a little far away from them in the same individuals showed that, in the majority of the tests (71%), centromere protein CenpG over expressed in breast cancer tissues. And moreover, a kind of protein component whose molecular weight is 43 kd, and which can be recognized by anti-CenpG serum was found in two of the cancer samples. | 11 | Development of hydrophilicity gradient ultracentrifuga- tion method for photoluminescence investigation of separated non-sedimental carbon dots显示文摘Carbon nanodots (CDs) formed by hydrothermal dehydration occur as mixtures of differently sized nanoparticles with different degrees of carbonization. Common ultracentrifugation has failed in sorting them, owing to their extremely high colloidal stability. Here, we introduce an ultracentrifugation method using a hydrophilicity gradient to sort such non-sedimental CDs. CDs, synthesized from citric acid and ethylenediamine, were pre-treated by acetone to form clusters. Such clusters "de-clustered" as media comprising gradients of ethanol they were forced to sediment through and water with varied volume ratios. Primary CDs with varied sizes and degrees of carbonization detached from the clusters to become well dispersed in the corresponding gradient layers. Their settling level was highly dependent on the varied hydrophilicity and solubility of the environmental media. Thus, the proposed hydrophilicity-triggered sorting strategy could be used for other nanoparticles with extremely high colloidal stability, which further widens the range of sortable nanoparticles. | 13 | Dual pH-responsive “charge-reversal like” gold nanoparticles to enhance tumor retention for chemo-radiotherapy显示文摘The strategy of pH-responsive aggregation in tumor micro-environment(TME)provides an intriguing platform for enhancing tumor retention and exerting therapeutic effects sufficiently.In this work,we have designed an intelligent dual pH-responsive self-aggregating nano gold system(Au@PAH-Pt/DMMA)for the combined chemo-radiotherapy,in which a“charge-reversal like”strategy was utilized to realize irreversible stable aggregation and pH-specific release of cisplatin prodrug in TME.Responsive aggregation increases the cellular uptake of Au@PAH-Pt/DMMA by 55%–60%,and the cellular uptake of Pt after X-ray irradiation can be further enhanced by 80%.Additionally,responsive aggregation greatly slows down the rate of efflux from tumor in vivo.This system not only promotes B16 cell apoptosis as a chemotherapeutic agent(30.4%),it also enhances the effect of chemo-radiotheray(CRT)by promoting apoptosis as a radiosensitizer(55.3%).The colony formation assay results were fitted to cell survival curve of B16 cells and the sensitization enhancement ratio(SER)was calculated to be 1.29,which shows a good radiosensitizing ability.When exposed to X-ray,this nanoplatform reached the ideal therapeutic effect,and the tumor inhibition rate of Au@PAH-Pt/DMMA reached 91.6%with low drug administration frequency and dose of X-ray.Overall,the dual pH-responsive nanoparticles Au@PAH-Pt/DMMA could effectively enhance tumor therapeutic efficiency by combined chemo-radiotherapy,which provides a potential method for clinical transformation of cancer treatment. | Xiaolei Zhang Chuangnian Zhang Mingbo Cheng Yahui Zhang Wei Wang Zhi Yuan | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,11: | 2 |
| 14 | Ingeniously designed Ni-Mo-S/ZnIn_(2)S_(4) composite for multi-photocatalytic reaction systems显示文摘Molybdenum disulfide (MoS_(2)) with low cost, high activity and high earth abundance has been found to be a promising catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), but its catalytic activity is considerably limited due to its inert basal planes. Here, through the combination of theory and experiment, we propose that doping Ni in MoS_(2) as catalyst can make it have excellent catalytic activity in different reaction systems. In the EY/TEOA system, the maximum hydrogen production rate of EY/Ni-Mo-S is 2.72 times higher than that of pure EY, which confirms the strong hydrogen evolution activity of Ni-Mo-S nanosheets as catalysts. In the lactic acid and Na_(2)S/Na_(2)SO_(3) systems, when Ni-Mo-S is used as co-catalyst to compound with ZnIn_(2)S_(4) (termed as Ni-Mo-S/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)), the maximum hydrogen evolution rates in the two systems are 5.28 and 2.33 times higher than those of pure ZnIn_(2)S_(4), respectively. The difference in HER enhancement is because different systems lead to different sources of protons, thus affecting hydrogen evolution activity. Theoretically, we further demonstrate that the Ni-Mo-S nanosheets have a narrower band gap than MoS_(2), which is conducive to the rapid transfer of charge carriers and thus result in multi-photocatalytic reaction systems with excellent activity. | 16 | A virus-derived siRNA activates plant immunity by interfering with ROS scavenging显示文摘Virus-derived small interference RNAs(vsiRNAs)not only suppress virus infection in plants via induction of RNA silencing but also enhance virus infection by regulating host defensive gene expression.However,the underlying mechanisms that control vsiRNA-mediated host immunity or susceptibility remain largely unknown.In this study,we generated several transgenic wheat lines using four artificial microRNA expression vectors carrying vsiRNAs from Wheat yellow mosaic virus(WYMV)RNA1.Laboratory and field tests showed that two transgenic wheat lines expressing amiRNAI were highly resistant to WYMV infection.Further analyses showed that vsiRNAI could modulate the expression of a wheat thioredoxin-like gene(TaAAEDI),which encodes a negative regulator of reactive oxygen species(ROS)production in the chloroplast.The function of TaAAEDI in ROS scavenging could be suppressed by vsiRNAI in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,transgenic expression of amiRNAI in wheat resulted in broad-spectrum disease resistance to Chinese wheat mosaic virus,Barley stripe mosaic virus,and Puccinia striiformis f.sp.tritici infection,suggesting that vsiRNAI is involved in wheat immunity via ROS signaling.Collectively,these findings reveal a previously unidentified mechanism underlying the arms race between viruses and plants. | Peng Liu Xiaoxiang Zhang Fan Zhang Miaoze Xu Zhuangxin Ye Ke Wang Shuang Liu Xiaolei Han Ye Cheng Kaili Zhong Tianye Zhang Linzhi Li Youzhi Ma Ming Chen Jianping Chen Jian Yang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,7: | 1 |
