2Ozone sensitivity analysis with the MM5-CMAQ modeling system for Shanghai显示文摘Ozone has become one of the most important air pollution issues around the world. This article applied both O 3 /(NOy-NOx) and H 2 O 2 /HNO 3 indicators to analyze the ozone sensitivity in urban and rural areas of Shanghai, with implementation of the MM5-CMAQ modeling system in July, 2007. The meteorological parameters were obtained by using the MM5 model. A regional emission inventory with spatial and temporal allocation based on the statistical data has been developed to provide input emission data to the MM5-CMAQ modeling system. Results showed that the ozone concentrations in Shanghai show clear regional differences. The ozone concentration in rural areas was much higher than that in the urban area. 4Kinetics of the accumulation of group 2 innate lymphoid cells in IL-33-induced and IL-25-induced murine models of asthma:a potential role for the chemokine CXCL16显示文摘ILC2s are implicated in asthma pathogenesis, but little is known about the mechanisms underlying their accumulation in airways.We investigated the time course of ILC2 accumulation in different tissues in murine models of asthma induced by a serial per-nasalchallenge with ovalbumin (OVA), house dust mice (HDM), IL-25 and IL-33 and explored the potential roles of ILC2-attractingchemokines in this phenomenon. Flow cytometry was used to enumerate ILC2s at various time points. The effects of cytokines andchemokines on ILC2 migration were measured in vitro using a chemotaxis assay and in vivo using small animal imaging. Comparedwith saline and OVA challenge, both IL-25 and IL-33 challenge alone induced significant accumulation of ILC2s in the mediastinallymph nodes, lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of challenged animals, but with a distinct potency and kinetics. In vitro,IL-33 and CXCL16, but not IL-25 or CCL25, directly induced ILC2 migration. Small animal in vivo imaging further confirmed that asingle intranasal provocation with IL-33 or CXCL16 was sufficient to induce the accumulation of ILC2s in the lungs followinginjection via the tail vein. Moreover, IL-33-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38, Akt, JNK and NF-κB, whileCXCL16-induced ILC2 migration involved the activation of ERK1/2, p38 and Akt. These data support the hypothesis that epitheliumderived IL-25 and IL-33 induce lung accumulation of ILC2s, while IL-33 exerts a direct chemotactic effect in this process. 5Percent free prostate-specific antigen for prostate cancer diagnosis in Chinese men with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL:Results from the Chinese Prostate Cancer Consortium显示文摘Objective:To test the diagnostic performance of percent free prostate-specific antigen(%fPSA)in predicting any prostate cancer(PCa)and high-grade prostate cancer(HGPCa)in a retrospective multi-center biopsy cohort with a PSA level of 4.0e10.0 ng/mL in China.Methods:Consecutive patients with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy were enrolled at 16 Chinese medical centers from January 1st,2010 to December 31st,2013.Total and free serum PSA determinations were performed using three types of electro-chemiluminescence immunoassays recalibrated to the World Health Organization(WHO)standard.The diagnostic accuracy of PSA,%fPSA,and %fPSA in combination with PSA(%fPSA t PSA)was determined using the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC).Results:A total of 2310 consecutive men with PSA levels between 4.0 and 10.0 ng/mL were included,and the detection rate of PCa was 25.1%.The AUC of%fPSA and %fPSA t PSA in predicting any PCa was superior to PSA alone in men aged≥60 years(0.623 vs.0.534,p<0.0001)but not in men aged 40e59 years(0.517 vs.0.518,p=0.939).Similar result was yield in predicting HGPCa.Conclusion:In a clinical setting of Chinese men with 4.0e10.0 ng/mL PSA undergoing initial prostate biopsy,adding %fPSA to PSA can moderately improve the diagnostic accuracy for any PCa and HGPCa compared with PSA alone in patients≥60 but not in patients aged 40-59 years.Rui Chen Liping Xie Xiaobing Cai Yiran Huang Liqun Zhou Lulin Ma Xu Gao Chuanliang Xu Shancheng Ren Pengfei Shao Danfeng Xu Kexin Xu Zhangqun Ye Chunxiao Liu Dingwei Ye Li Lu Qiang Fu Jianquan Hou Jianlin Yuan Dalin He Tie Zhou Fubo Wang Biming He Yinghao Sun 2015Asian Journal of Urology2015,2,2:8

7Comparison of efficacy, safety, and quality of life between sorafenib and sunitinib as first.line therapy for Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background: Sorafenib and sunitinib are widely used as first-line targeted therapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC) in China.This study aimed to compare the efficacy, safety, and quality of life(QoL) in Chinese mRCC patients treated with sorafenib and sunitinib as first-line therapy.Methods: Clinical data of patients with mRCC who received sorafenib(400 mg twice daily; 4 weeks) or sunitinib(50 mg twice daily; on a schedule of 4 weeks on treatment followed by 2 weeks off) were retrieved. Primary outcomes were overall survival(OS), progression-free survival(PFS), adverse events(AEs), and QoL(SF-36 scores), and secondary outcomes were associations of clinical characteristics with QoL.Results: Medical records of 184 patients(110 in the sorafenib group and 74 in the sunitinib group) were reviewed.PFS and OS were comparable between the sorafenib and sunitinib groups(both P > 0.05).The occurrence rates of leukocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, and hypothyroidism were higher in the sunitinib group(36.5% vs. 10.9%,P< 0.001; 40.5% vs. 10.9%, P < 0.001; 17.6% vs. 3.6%, P = 0.001), and that of diarrhea was higher in the sorafenib group(62.7% vs. 35.2%, P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in SF-36 scores between the two groups. Multivariate analysis indicated that role-physical and bodily pain scores were associated with the occurrence rate of grade 3 or 4 AEs(P = 0.017 and 0.005).Conclusions: Sorafenib has comparable efficacy and lower toxicity profile than sunitinib as first-line therapy for mRCC. 8LSD1 inhibition suppresses the growth of clear cell renal cell carcinoma via upregulating P21signaling显示文摘Histone lysine-specific demethylase 1(LSD1) has been implicated in the disease progression of several types of solid tumors. This study provides the first evidence showing that LSD1 overexpression occurred in 62.6%(224/358) of clear cell renal cell carcinomas(ccRCC). LSD1 expression was associated with the progression of ccRCC, as indicated by TNM stage(P ? 0.006), especially tumor stage(P ? 0.017) and lymph node metastasis(P ? 0.030). High LSD1 expression proved to be an independent prognostic factor for poor overall survival(Po0.001) and recurrence-free survival(Po0.001) of ccRCC patients. We further show that LSD1 inhibition by siRNA knockdown or using the small molecule inhibitor SP2509 suppressed the growth of ccRCC in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, inhibition of LSD1 decreased the H3 K4 demethylation at the CDKN1 A gene promoter, which was associated with P21 upregulation and cell cycle arrest at G1/S in ccRCC cells. 9Characterization of VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in the Pearl River Delta of China显示文摘Speciated characterization of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),including oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs),from construction machinery and river ships in China is currently lacking.In this regard,we conducted field measurement on speciated VOC (including OVOC) emissions from six construction machinery and five river ships in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region to identify VOC emission characteristics.We noticed that OVOC emissions from construction machinery and ships accounted for more than 50%of the total VOC emissions,followed by alkenes,aromatics and alkanes.Formaldehyde and acetaldehyde were the most emission species,accounting for 61.8%-83.2%of OVOCs.For construction machinery,the fuel-based emission factors of roller,grader and pile driver were 3.12,3.12 and 7.36 g/kg,respectively.With the rigorous restraint by the national emission standards,VOC emissions of construction machinery had decreased considerably,especially during stageⅢ.Ozone formation potential was also significantly reduced due to the significant decrease in emissions of OVOCs and alkenes with higher reactivity.For river ships,the fuel-based emission factors of cargo ships and speedboat were 1.46 and 0.44 g/kg,respectively.VOC emissions from construction machinery and river ships in Guangdong Province in 2017 were 8851.0 and 4361.0 ton,respectively.This study filled the knowledge gaps of reactive gas emissions from different kinds of non-road mobile sources over the PRD,and more importantly,highlighted the necessity in adding OVOC measurement to give a complete and accurate depiction of reactive gas emissions from non-road mobile sources.Richao Wang Zibing Yuan Junyu Zheng Cheng Li Zhijiong Huang Wenshi Li Yan Xie Yiran Wang Kaiyang Yu Lejun Duan 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:5

11Adjuvant hormone therapy after radical prostatectomy in highrisk localized and locally advanced prostate cancer: First multicenter, observational study in China显示文摘Objective: Potential of combined androgen blockade(CAB) has not been explored extensively in Chinese males with prostate cancer(PCa). Therefore, this study evaluated the 2-year prostate-specific antigen(PSA) recurrence rate and quality of life(Qo L) in patients with high-risk localized and locally advanced PCa receiving adjuvant hormone therapy(HT) after radical prostatectomy(RP).Methods: This prospective, multicenter, observational study conducted in 18 centers across China enrolled patients with high-risk factor(preoperative PSA>20 ng/m L or Gleason score >7) or locally advanced PCa. Different adjuvant HT were administered after RP according to investigator’s decision in routine clinical practice.Relationship of baseline and postoperative characteristics was assessed with recurrence rate. PSA recurrence rate and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Prostate(FACT-P) Qo L scores were recorded at 12 months and 24 months. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to construct the PSA recurrence rate during follow-up.Results: A total of 189 patients(mean age: 66.9±6.5 years) were recruited, among which 112(59.3%) patients showed serum PSA>20 ng/m L preoperatively. The highest postoperative pathological advancement noticed was from clinical T2(c T2) to pathological T3(p T3)(43.9%) stage. The majority of the patients(66.1%) received CAB as adjuvant HT, for a median duration of 20.0 months. The least recurrence(15.2%) was noticed in patients treated with CAB, followed by those treated with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist(LHRHa)(16.1%), and antiandrogen(19.0%), with non-significant difference noted among the groups. None of the baseline or postoperative characteristics was related with PSA recurrence in our study. The 24-month FACT-P Qo L score of119 patients treated for >12 months showed significant improvement above baseline compared with those treated for ≤12 months.Conclusions: Adjuvant CAB therapy after RP showed reduction trend in 2-year PSA recurrence rate in highrisk Chinese patients with localized and locally advanced PCa, compared with adjuvant anti-androgens(AA) or LHRHa therapy. 12Epidemiological and Virological Surveillance of Seasonal Influenza Viruses—China,2020–2021显示文摘Introduction:During the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,the circulation of seasonal influenza virus declined globally and remained below previous seasonal levels.We analyzed the results of the epidemiology,antigenic,and genetic characteristics,and antiviral susceptibilities of seasonal influenza viruses isolated from the mainland of China during October 5,2020 through September 5,2021,to better assess the risk of influenza during subsequent influenza season in 2021–2022.Methods:Positive rates of influenza virus detection during this period were based on real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)detection by the Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network laboratories,and isolated viruses from influenza positive samples were submitted to the Chinese National Influenza Center.Antigenic analyses for influenza viruses were conducted using the hemagglutination inhibition assay.Next-generation sequencing was used for genetic analyses.Viruses were tested for resistance to antiviral medications using a phenotypic assay and next-generation sequencing.Results:In southern China,the influenza positivity rate was elevated especially after March 2021 and was higher than the same period the previous year with the COVID-19 pandemic.In northern China,influenza positive rate peaked at Week 18 in 2021 and has declined since then.Nearly all isolated viruses were B/Victoria lineage viruses during the study period,and 37.3%of these viruses are antigenically similar to the reference viruses representing the vaccine components for the 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 Northern Hemisphere influenza season.All seasonal influenza viruses were susceptible to neuraminidase inhibitors and endonuclease inhibitors.Conclusions:Influenza activity has gradually increased in the mainland of China in 2021,although the intensity of activity is still lower than before the COVID-19 pandemic.The diversity of circulating influenza types/subtypes decreased,with the vast majority being B/Victoria lineage viruses.The surveillance data from this study suggest that we should strengthen influenza surveillance during the upcoming traditional influenza season.It also provided evidence for vaccine recommendations and prevention and control of influenza and clinical use of antiviral drugs.Weijuan Huang Xiyan Li Minju Tan Yanhui Cheng Tao Chen Hejiang Wei Xiaoxu Zeng Yiran Xie Jia Liu Ning Xiao Lei Yang Dayan Wang 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,44:4
13Building a model-based personalised recommendation approach for tourist attractions from geotagged social media data显示文摘When travelling,people are accustomed to taking and uploading photos on social media websites,which has led to the accumulation of huge numbers of geotagged photos.Combined with multisource information(e.g.weather,transportation,or textual information),these geotagged photos could help us in constructing user preference profiles at a high level of detail.Therefore,using these geotagged photos,we built a personalised recommendation system to provide attraction recommendations that match a user’s preferences.Specifically,we retrieved a geotagged photo collection from the public API for Flickr(Flickr.com)and fetched a large amount of other contextual information to rebuild a user’s travel history.We then created a model-based recommendation method with a two-stage architecture that consists of candidate generation(the matching process)and candidate ranking.In the matching process,we used a support vector machine model that was modified for multiclass classification to generate the candidate list.In addition,we used a gradient boosting regression tree to score each candidate and rerank the list.Finally,we evaluated our recommendation results with respect to accuracy and ranking ability.Compared with widely used memory-based methods,our proposed method performs significantly better in the cold-start situation and when mining‘long-tail’data.Xiaoyu Sun Zhou Huang Xia Peng Yiran Chen Yu Liu 2019International Journal of Digital Earth2019,12,6:4

15Sieving carbons promise practical anodes with extensible low-potential plateaus for sodium batteries显示文摘Non-graphitic carbons are promising anode candidates for sodium-ion batteries,while their variable and complicated microstructure severely limits the rational design of high-energy carbon anodes that could accelerate the commercialization of sodium-ion batteries,as is the case for graphite in lithium-ion batteries.Here,we propose sieving carbons,featuring highly tunable nanopores with tightened pore entrances,as high-energy anodes with extensible and reversible low-potential plateaus(<0.1 V).It is shown that the tightened pore entrance blocks the formation of the solid electrolyte interphase inside the nanopores and enables sodium clustering to produce the plateau.Theoretical and spectroscopic studies also show that creating a larger area of sodiophilic pore surface leads to an almost linearly increased number of sodium clusters,and controlling the pore body diameter guarantees the reversibility of sodium cluster formation,producing a sieving carbon anode with a record-high plateau capacity of 400 mAh g.More excitingly,this approach to preparing sieving carbons has the potential to be scalable for modifying different commercial porous carbons.Qi Li Xiangsi Liu Ying Tao Jianxing Huang Jun Zhang Chunpeng Yang Yibo Zhang Siwei Zhang Yiran Jia Qiaowei Lin Yuxuan Xiang Jun Cheng Wei Lv Feiyu Kang Yong Yang Quan-Hong Yang 2022National Science Review2022,9,8:3

17A phase 3,double-blind,randomized placebo-controlled efficacy and safety study of abiraterone acetate in chemotherapynaı¨ve patients with mCRPC in China,Malaysia,Thailand and Russia显示文摘Objective:This double-blind,placebo-controlled phase 3 study was designed to compare efficacy and safety of abiraterone acetate+prednisone(abiraterone)to prednisone alone in chemotherapy-naı¨ve,asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic metastatic castrationresistant prostate cancer(mCRPC)patients from China,Malaysia,Thailand and Russia.Methods:Adult chemotherapy-naı¨ve patients with confirmed prostate adenocarcinoma,Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)performance status(PS)grade 0e1,ongoing androgen deprivation(serum testosterone<50 ng/dL)with prostate specific antigen(PSA)or radiographic progression were randomized to receive abiraterone acetate(1000 mg,QD)t prednisone(5 mg,BID)or placebo t prednisone(5 mg,BID),until disease progression,unacceptable toxicity or consent withdrawal.Primary endpoint was improvements in time to PSA progression(TTPP).Results:Totally,313 patients were randomized(abiraterone:n Z 157;prednisone:n Z 156);and baseline characteristics were balanced.At clinical cut-off(median follow-up time:3.9 months),80% patients received treatment(abiraterone:n Z 138,prednisone:n Z 112).Median time to PSA progression was not reached with abiraterone versus 3.8 months for prednisone,attaining 58%reduction in PSA progression risk(HR=0.418;p<0.0001).Abirateronetreated patients had higher confirmed PSA response rate(50%vs.21%;relative odds=2.4;p<0.0001)and were 5 times more likely to achieve radiographic response than prednisonetreated patients(22.9%vs.4.8%,p=0.0369).Median survival was not reached.Most common(≥10% abiraterone vs.prednisone-treated)adverse events:bone pain(7%vs.14%),pain in extremity(6%vs.12%),arthralgia(10%vs.8%),back pain(7%vs.11%),and hypertension(15%vs.14%).Conclusion:Interim analysis confirmed favorable benefit-to-risk ratio of abiraterone in chemotherapy-naı¨ve men with mCRPC,consistent with global study,thus supporting use of abiraterone in this patient population.Dingwei Ye Yiran Huang Fangjian Zhou Keji Xie Vsevolod Matveev Changling Li Boris Alexeev Ye Tian Mingxing Qiu Hanzhong Li Tie Zhou Peter De Porre Margaret Yu Vahid Naini Hongchuan Liang Zhuli Wu Yinghao Sun 2017Asian Journal of Urology2017,4,2:3
18Association of post.treatment hypoalbuminemia and survival in Chinese patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:Hypoalbuminemia adversely affects the clinical outcomes of various cancers.The purpose of this study was to estimate the prognostic value of hypoalbuminemia 3-5 weeks after treatment in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC) who received sorafenib or sunitinib as first-line treatment.Methods:In this single-center,retrospective study,we assessed the progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) of 184 mRCC patients who received first-line sorafenib or sunitinib treatment.PFS and OS were compared between patients with post-treatment hypoalbuminemia(post-treatment albumin level <36.4 g/L) and those with normal post-treatment albumin level(albumin level≥36.4 g/L).The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center(MSKCC)risk model stratified mRCC patients into three risk categories.Prognostic values of all patient characteristics including MSKCC risk category were determined by using univariate and multivariate Cox regression models.Prognostic value was further determined using the Harrell concordance index and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.Results:The median PFS and OS of the 184 patients were 11 months(95%confidence interval[CI]9-12 months)and 23 months(95%CI 19-33 months),respectively.Patients with post-treatment hypoalbuminemia had significantly shorter median PFS(6 months[95%CI 5-7 months]) and OS(11 months[95%CI 9-15 months]) than patients who had normal post-treatment albumin levels(PFS:12 months[95%CI 11-16 months],P < 0.001;OS:31 months[95%CI24-42 months],P < 0.001),respectively.Multivariate analysis showed that post-treatment hypoalbuminemia was an independent predictor of PFS(hazard ratio[HR],2.113;95%CI 1.390-3.212;P < 0.001) and OS(HR,2.388;95%CI 1.591-3.585;P < 0.001).Post-treatment hypoalbuminemia could also be combined with the MSKCC risk category for better prediction about OS.The model that included post-treatment hypoalbuminemia and MSKCC risk category improved the predictive accuracy for PFS and OS(c-index:0.68 and 0.73,respectively) compared with the basic MSKCC risk model(c-index:0.67 and 0.70,respectively).The prognostic values for PFS and OS of the integrated MSKCC risk model involving post-treatment hypoalbuminemia were significantly more accurate than the basic MSKCC risk model using likelihood ratio analysis(both P < 0.001).Conclusions:Post-treatment hypoalbuminemia can be considered an independent prognostic factor for patients with mRCC who undergo first-line treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors.Additionally,integrating post-treatment serum albumin level into the basic MSKCC risk model can improve the accuracy of this model in predicting patient overall survival and progression-free survival.Wen Cai Jin Zhang Yonghui Chen Wen Kong Yiran Huang Jiwei Huang Lixin Zhou 2017Chinese Journal of Cancer2017,36,7:3

20Characterization of Influenza Viruses-China, 2019−2020显示文摘Introduction:Influenza surveillance is necessary for detection of emerging variants of influenza viruses and determining their epidemiological and clinical significance.Vaccination and antiviral drugs remain the most useful ways to protect against seasonal influenza and its potentially severe consequences.This study describes the epidemiology,antigenic and genetic characteristics,and antiviral susceptibilities of influenza viruses isolated from the mainland of China during the April 1,2019 through October 4,2020.Methods:All viruses analyzed were isolated and submitted by Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network laboratories.The Chinese National Influenza Center performed antigenic analysis,sequencing,and antiviral resistance testing after propagation of the viruses.Antigenic characterizations were determined by hemagglutinin inhibition assay;next-generation sequencing was used for genetic analyses;phenotypic assay and next-generation sequencing were used for determining antiviral resistance.Results:The influenza positivity rate declined significantly starting in late January 2020 and has remained low.There was no summer influenza peak season in south China.Influenza A(H3N2)and B/Victoria lineage viruses were the dominant subtype/lineage during April 1,2019 through October 4,2020.The majority of influenza viruses were antigenically and genetically similar to reference viruses representing components of vaccines for the 2020–2021 northern hemisphere influenza season.Nearly all seasonal influenza viruses were susceptible to oseltamivir and zanamivir.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:Since the outbreak of COVID-19,the influenza positivity rate declined with implementation of strong COVID-19 control measures.The majority of circulating viruses are well matched with the current 2020–2021 northern hemisphere influenza vaccine viruses.Circulating seasonal influenza viruses were sensitive to neuraminidase inhibitors and Baloxavir marboxil.This study provided evidence for World Health Organization(WHO)recommendations for vaccine viruses,for prevention and control of influenza,and for clinical use of antiviral medications.Weijuan Huang Yanhui Cheng Tao Chen Xiyan Li Minju Tan Hejiang Wei Xiaoxu Zeng Yiran Xie Jia Liu Ning Xiao Lei Yang Dayan Wang 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,44:2
