1Effectiveness and safety of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in real-world studies: a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background: To date, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) becomes increasingly fierce due to the emergence of variants. Rapid herd immunity through vaccination is needed to block the mutation and prevent the emergence of variants that can completely escape the immune surveillance. We aimed to systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of COVID-19 vaccines in the real world and to establish a reliable evidence-based basis for the actual protective effect of the COVID-19 vaccines, especially in the ensuing waves of infections dominated by variants.Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase and Web of Science from inception to July 22, 2021. Observational studies that examined the effectiveness and safety of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines among people vaccinated were included. Random-effects or fixed-effects models were used to estimate the pooled vaccine effectiveness (VE) and incidence rate of adverse events after vaccination, and their 95% confidence intervals (CI).Results: A total of 58 studies (32 studies for vaccine effectiveness and 26 studies for vaccine safety) were included. A single dose of vaccines was 41% (95%CI: 28-54%) effective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 infections, 52% (31-73%) for symptomatic COVID-19, 66% (50-81%) for hospitalization, 45% (42-49%) for Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admissions, and 53% (15-91%) for COVID-19-related death;and two doses were 85% (81-89%) effective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 infections, 97% (97-98%) for symptomatic COVID-19, 93% (89-96%) for hospitalization, 96% (93-98%) for ICU admissions, and 95% (92-98%) effective for COVID-19-related death, respectively. The pooled VE was 85% (80-91%) for the prevention of Alpha variant of SARS-CoV-2 infections, 75% (71-79%) for the Beta variant, 54% (35-74%) for the Gamma variant, and 74% (62-85%) for the Delta variant. The overall pooled incidence rate was 1.5% (1.4-1.6%) for adverse events, 0.4 (0.2-0.5) per 10 000 for severe adverse events, and 0.1 (0.1-0.2) per 10 000 for death after vaccination.Conclusions: SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have reassuring safety and could effectively reduce the death, severe cases, symptomatic cases, and infections resulting from SARS-CoV-2 across the world. 2Leaching of dissolved organic matter from seagrass leaf litter and its biogeochemical implications显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM) represents a significant source of nutrients that supports the microbial-based food web in seagrass ecosystems. However, there is little information on how the various fractions of DOM from seagrass leaves contributed to the coastal biogeochemical cycles. To address this gap, we carried out a 30-day laboratory chamber experiment on tropical seagrasses Thalassia hemprichii and Enhalus acoroides. After 30 days of incubation, on average 22% carbon(C), 70% nitrogen(N) and 38% phosphorus(P) of these two species of seagrass leaf litter was released. The average leached dissolved organic carbon(DOC), dissolved organic nitrogen(DON) and dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP) of these two species of seagrass leaf litter accounted for 55%, 95% and 65% of the total C, N and P lost, respectively. In the absence of microbes, about 75% of the total amount of DOC, monosaccharides(MCHO), DON and DOP were quickly released via leaching from both seagrass species in the first 9 days. Subsequently, little DOM was released during the remainder of the experiment. The leaching rates of DOC, DON and DOP were approximately 110, 40 and 0.70 μmol/(g·d). Leaching rates of DOM were attributed to the nonstructural carbohydrates and other labile organic matter within the seagrass leaf. Thalassia hemprichii leached more DOC, DOP and MCHO than E. acoroides. In contrast, E. acoroides leached higher concentrations of DON than T. hemprichii, with the overall leachate also having a higher DON: DOP ratio. These results indicate that there is an overall higher amount of DOM leachate from T. hemprichii than that of E. acoroides that is available to the seagrass ecosystem. According to the logarithmic model for DOM release and the in situ leaf litter production(the Xincun Bay, South China Sea), the seagrass leaf litter of these two seagrass species could release approximately 4×10~3 mol/d DOC, 1.4×10~3 mol/d DON and 25 mol/d DOP into the seawater. In addition to providing readily available nutrients for the microbial food web, the remaining particulate organic matter(POM)from the litter would also enter microbial remineralization processes. 3Fabrication of niobium doped titanate nanoflakes with enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity for efficient ibuprofen degradation显示文摘In this study,a novel class of niobium(Nb) doped titanate nanoflakes(TNFs) are fabricated through a onestep hydrothermal method.Nb doping affects the curving of titanate nanosheet,leading to the formation of nanoflake structure.In addition,Nb5+ filled in the interlayers of [TiO6] alters the light adsorption property of pristine titanate.The band gap of Nb-TNFs is narrowed to 2.85 eV,while neat titanate nano tubes(TNTs) is 3.4 eV.The enhanced visible light adsorption significantly enhances the visible-lightdriven activity of Nb-TNFs for ibuprofen(IBP) degradation.The pseudo-first order kinetics constant for Nb-TNFs is calculated to be 1.04 h^-1,while no obvious removal is observed for TNTs.Photo-generated holes(h^+) and hydroxyl radicals(·OH) are responsible for IBP degradation.The photocatalytic activity of Nb-TNFs depends on pH condition,and the optimal pH value is found to be 5.In addition,Nb-TNFs exhibited superior photo-stability during the reuse cycles.The results demonstrated Nb-TNFs are very promising in photocatalytic water purification.Wen Liu Wei Zhang Mushi Liu Penghui Du Chenyuan Dang Jialiang Liang Yunyi Li 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:3

5Overexpression of amplified in breast cancer 1 (AIB1) gene promotes lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness in vitro and in vivo by upregulating C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4显示文摘Background:We previously found that overexpression of the gene known as amplified in breast cancer 1(AIB1)was associated with lymph node metastasis and poor prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma.However,the role of AIB1 in that malignancy remains unknown.The present study aimed to investigate the function of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma cell metastasis.Methods:A series of in vivo and in vitro assays were performed to elucidate the function of AIB1,while real-time PCR and Western blotting were utilized to identify the potential downstream targets of AIB1 in the process of lung adenocarcinoma metastasis.Rescue experiments and in vitro assays were performed to investigate whether the invasive-ness of AIB1-induced lung adenocarcinoma was mediated by C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4).Results:The ectopic overexpression of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma cells substantially enhanced cell migration and invasive abilities in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo,whereas the depletion of AIB1 expression substantially inhibited lung adenocarcinoma cell migration and invasion.CXCR4 was identified as a potential downstream target of AIB1 in lung adenocarcinoma.The knockdown of AIB1 greatly reduced CXCR4 gene expression at both the transcription and protein levels,whereas the knockdown of CXCR4 in cells with AIB1 ectopic overexpression diminished AIB1-induced migration and invasion in vitro and tumor metastasis in vivo.Furthermore,we found a significant positive association between the expression of AIB1 and CXCR4 in lung adenocarcinoma patients(183 cases),and the co-overexpression of AIB1 and CXCR4 predicted the poorest prognosis.Conclusions:These findings suggest that AIB1 promotes the aggressiveness of lung adenocarcinoma in vitro and in vivo by upregulating CXCR4 and that it might be usable as a novel prognostic marker and/or therapeutic target for this disease.Liru He Haixia Deng Shiliang Liu Jiewei Chen Binkui Li Chenyuan Wang Xin Wang Yiguo Jiang Ningfang Ma Mengzhong Liu Dan Xie 2018Cancer Communications2018,38,1:2
6Active ammonia-oxidizing bacteria and archaea in wastewater treatment systems显示文摘Ammonia-oxidizing bacteria(AOB)and archaea(AOA)are two microbial groups mediating nitrification,yet little is presently known about their abundances and community structures at the transcriptional level in wastewater treatment systems(WWTSs).This is a significant issue,as the numerical abundance of AOA or AOB at the gene level may not necessarily represent their functional role in ammonia oxidation.Using amo A genes as molecular markers,this study investigated the transcriptional abundance and community structure of active AOA and AOB in 14 WWTSs.Quantitative PCR results indicated that the transcriptional abundances of AOB amo A(averaged:1.6×10^(8)copies g^(-1)dry sludge)were higher than those of AOA(averaged:3.4×10^(7)copies g^(-1)dry sludge)in all WWTSs despite several higher abundances of AOA amo A at the gene level.Moreover,phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that Nitrosomonas europaea and unknown clusters accounted for 37.66%and 49.96%of the total AOB amo A transcripts,respectively,suggesting their dominant role in driving ammonia oxidation.Meanwhile,AOA amo A transcripts were only successfully retrieved from 3 samples,and the Nitrosospaera sister cluster dominated,accounting for 83.46%.Finally,the substrate utilization kinetics of different AOA and AOB species might play a fundamental role in shaping their niche differentiation,community composition,and functional activity.This study provides a basis for evaluating the relative contributions of ammonia-oxidizing microorganisms(AOMs)to nitrogen conversions in WWTSs.Maosheng Zheng Shishi He Yueqi Feng Mingyuan Wang Yong-Xin Liu Chenyuan Dang Jiawen Wang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,4:2
7Understanding the role of interface in advanced semiconductor nanostructure and its interplay with wave function overlap显示文摘As the proportion of interfaces increases rapidly in nanomaterials,properties and quality of interfaces hugely impact the performance of advanced semiconductors.Here,the effect of interfaces is explored by comparatively studying two InAs/AlSb superlattices with and without the thin InAsSb layers inserted inside each InAs layers.Through strain mapping,it indicates that the addition of interfaces leads to an increase of local strain both near interfaces and inside layers.Meantime,owing to the creation of hole potential wells within the original electron wells,the charge distribution undergoes an extra electron-hole alternating arrangement in the structure with inserted layers than the uninserted counterpart.Such a feature is verified to enhance electron-hole wave function overlap by theoretical simulations,which is a must for better optical performance.Furthermore,with an elaborate design of the inserted layers,the wave function overlap could be boosted without sacrificing other key device performances.Chenyuan Cai Yunhao Zhao Faran Chang Xuebing Zhao Liting Yang Chongyun Liang Guowei Wang Zhichuan Niu Yi Shi Xianhu Liu Yuesheng Li Renchao Che 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:1
8Trends of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Rural Area in Sentinel Community-Based Surveillance——China,December 2022 to January 2023显示文摘Introduction:In late 2022,a rapid transmission of Omicron variants of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)occurred throughout China.The purpose of this study was to provide the latest data and evaluate trends of SARS-CoV-2 infection in rural China among the community population.Methods:Data on SARS-CoV-2 infection among approximately 90,000 participants in rural China were collected by the National Sentinel Community-Based Surveillance(NSCS)system.Participants were tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection(defined as positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid or antigen)twice weekly from December 16,2022 to January 12,2023.The daily average of newly positive rate and its estimated daily percentage change were calculated to describe the national and regional trends of SARS-CoV-2 infection in rural China.Results:In rural China,the daily average new positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection peaked at 4.79%between December 20–22,2022 and then decreased to 0.57%between January 10–12,2023,with an average decrease of 29.95%per round.The peak of new SARS-CoV-2 infection was slightly earlier and lower in North China(5.28%between December 20–22,2022)than in South China(5.63%between December 23–26,2022),and then converged from December 30,2022 to January 2,2023.The peak of 6.09%occurred between December 20–22,2022 in eastern China,while the peak of 5.99%occurred later,between December 27–29,2022,in central China.Conclusions:Overall,the epidemic wave in rural China peaked between December 20–22,2022,and passed quickly following the optimization of prevention and control measures.Currently,SARSCoV-2 infection in community populations in rural China is sporadic.Wenzhan Jing Fan Ding Yanping Zhang Guoqing Shi Jue Liu Yu Wu Fangyuan Li Wenxin Yan Chenyuan Qin Min Liu Qun Li Wannian Liang 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,11:1

11High dispersion of heteropolyacid nanoparticles on hydrothermally Cs-modified three-dimensionally ordered macroporous SiO2 with excellent selectivity in methacrolein oxidation显示文摘Heteropolyacid nanoparticles(NPs)were supported on Cs-modified three-dimensionally ordered macroporous(3DOM)SiO2 and used as the catalyst for the oxidation of methacrolein(MAL)to methacrylic acid(MAA).Hydrothermal treatment and incipient wetness impregnation were employed respectively for the Cs-modification.It was found that hydrothermal Cs-modification of 3DOM SiO2 promoted the dispersion of the supported heteropolyacid,which showed an average particle size of 5.2 nm,much smaller than that(17.6 nm)on the Csmodified 3DOM SiO2 prepared by incipient wetness impregnation.The effects of hydrothermal treatment on the structure and catalytic performance of the catalyst were investigated.Results showed that the ion exchange between Cs+and the surface silanol groups on 3DOM SiO2 was promoted with the increase of the hydrothermal temperature.Meanwhile,Cs-modification helped the heteropolyacid to retain intact Keggin structure,inhibiting the formation of MoO3.Highly dispersed heteropolyacid NPs with enhanced structural stability exhibited excellent selectivity to MAA in the oxidation of MAL.Heng Zhang Junqi Liu Chenyuan Liu Tingting Wang Wancheng Zhu 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,11:1
12Trends of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Sentinel Community-Based Surveillance After the Optimization of Prevention and Control Measures—China,December 2022-January 2023显示文摘Introduction:On December 7,2022,China implemented the“Ten New Measures”to optimize its prevention and control measures for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).To provide the latest data after the optimization,we evaluated trends of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection among the community population in China.Methods:We utilized data from the National Sentinel Community-Based Surveillance(NSCS)system in China to assess trends of SARS-CoV-2 infection.NSCS is a national community-based surveillance cohort with 0.42 million participants from all 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(XPCC).Participants were tested for infection twice a week(a total of eight rounds)from December 16,2022 to January 12,2023.SARS-CoV-2 infection was defined as testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid or antigen.We calculated the daily average of newly positive rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection.Results:In this national cohort,the daily average newly positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased from 4.13% in Round 1(December 16-19,2022)to 0.69% in Round 8(January 10-12,2023).The epidemic peak occurred in Round 2(December 20-22,2022).Similar trends were observed in urban areas(decreasing from 4.65% to 0.73%),rural areas(decreasing from 2.83% to 0.57%),the eastern region(decreasing from 4.18% to 0.67%),the central region(decreasing from 5.43% to 0.61%),and the western region(decreasing from 3.01%to 0.77%).Conclusions:NSCS data showed that the peak of SARS-CoV-2 infection in China had passed.SARSCoV-2 infection in community populations in China is currently at a low epidemic level.Jue Liu Fan Ding Yu Wu Wenzhan Jing Wenxin Yan Chenyuan Qin Fangyuan Li Yanping Zhang Min Liu Wannian Liang Qun Li 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,7:0
13Efficient adsorption of europium(Ⅲ)and uranium(Ⅵ)by titanate nanorings:Insights into radioactive metal species显示文摘Radioactive wastewater containing high concentration of radionuclides poses severe threats to ecosystem and human health,so efficient removal of these toxic heavy metals is urgently needed.Titanate nanomaterials have been demonstrated good adsorbents for heavy metals due to ion exchange property.In this study,titanate nanorings(TNRs)were synthesized using the facile hydrothermal-cooling method.The TNRs were composed of sodium trititanate,with a chemical formula of Na_(0.66)H_(1.34)-Ti_(3)O_(7)·0.27H_(2)O and a Na content of 2.38 mmol/g.The TNRs demonstrated sufficient adsorption performance to radionuclides europium(Eu)and uranium(U)ions.Specifically,even at a high initial concentration of 50 mg/L,86.5% and 92.6% of the two metal ions can be rapidly adsorbed by the TNRs within 5 min,and equilibrium was reached within 60 min at pH 5.The maximum adsorption capacity(Qmax)obtained by the Langmuir isotherm model was 115.3 mg/g for Eu(Ⅲ)and 282.5 mg/g for uranium U(Ⅵ)at pH 5,respectively.The adsorption capacities of the two metals under various water chemical conditions were highly related to their species.Ion exchange between metal cations and Na^(+) in the TNR interlayers was the dominant adsorption mechanism,and adsorption of U(Ⅵ)was more complicated because of the co-existence of various uranyl(UO_(2)^(2+))and uranyl-hydroxyl species.The spent TNRs were effectively regenerated through an acid-base or ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA)treatment and reused.Considering the large adsorption capacity and quick kinetic,TNRs are promising materials to remove radionuclides in environmental purification applications,especially emergent treatment of leaked radionuclides.Maosheng Zheng Haodong Ji Jun Duan Chenyuan Dang Xingmin Chen Wen Liu 2020Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2020,,2:0
14Effects of Color on the Buildup and Resolution of Proactive Interference in Working Memory显示文摘The“color superiority effect”was confirmed by the research of color on forgetting,which showed that proactive interference(PI)has less impact on colored items than gray ones.Color could directly affect the buildup of PI,leading to reduced levels of interference,or controlled processes that resolve PI.However,the effects of red and green on memory were inconsistent.Using Recent-Probes task,the current study explored how the red and green color influenced to the buildup phase(i.e.,200ms after the onset of probe)and resolution phase(i.e.800ms after the onset of probe)of PI.Results revealed that the reaction times of green words were significantly shorter than the red words under 200ms.There were no significant differences between the red and green words under 500ms and 800ms.It indicated that green might shortened the reaction times for the PI buildup,while red prolonged it.However,on the resolution phase of PI,green words were less effective than red words.These findings offered some new information for the underlying mechanisms that modulate the interactions between color and memory.Rong Liu Weichun Du Lixuan Feng Chenyuan Zhao Fengxia Su Sixu Qiao 2020Journal of Psychological Research2020,2,4:0
15Organic room-temperature phosphorescent polymers for efficient X-ray scintillation and imaging显示文摘Materials that exhibit visible luminescence upon X-ray irradiation show great potential in the medical and industrial fields.Pure organic materials have recently emerged as promising scintillators for X-ray detection and radiography,due to their diversified design,low cost,and facile preparation.However,recent progress in efficient radioluminescence has mainly focused on small molecules,which are inevitably associated with processability and repeatability issues.Here,a concise strategy is proposed to prepare radioluminescent polymers that exhibit multiple emission colors from blue to yellow with high brightness in an amorphous state by the radical copolymerization of negatively charged polyacrylic acid and different positively charged quaternary phosphonium salts.One of the obtained polymers exhibits excellent photostability under a high X-ray irradiation dosage of 27.35 Gy and has a detection limit of 149 nGy s^(−1).This performance is superior to that of conventional anthracene-based scintillators.Furthermore,by simply drop-casting a polymer methanol solution on a quartz plate,a transparent scintillator screen was successfully fabricated for X-ray imaging with a resolution of 8.7 line pairs mm^(−1).The pure organic phosphorescent polymers with a highly efficient radioluminescence were demonstrated for the first time,and the strategy reported herein offers a promising pathway to expand the application range of amorphous organic scintillators.Juan Wei Yangyang Jiang Chenyuan Liu Jiayu Duan Shanying Liu Xiangmei Liu Shujuan Liu Yun Ma Qiang Zhao 2022Advanced Photonics2022,4,3:0

18Trends of SARS-CoV-2 Infection Among Couriers in Risky Business After the Optimization of Prevention and Control Measures——China,December 2022 to January 2023显示文摘Introduction:On December 7,2022,China implemented“Ten New Measures”to optimize prevention and control measures for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The purpose of this study was to evaluate the national and regional trends of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection among couriers in China from December 2022 to January 2023.Methods:Data from the National Sentinel Community-based Surveillance in China was utilized,including participants from 31 provincial-level administrative divisions and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.Participants were tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection twice a week from December 16,2022 to January 12,2023.Infection was defined as a positive result for SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid or antigen.The daily average newly positive rate of SARSCoV-2 infection and the estimated daily percentage change(EDPC)were calculated.Results:In this cohort,8 rounds of data were collected.The daily average newly positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection decreased from 4.99%in Round 1 to 0.41%in Round 8,with an EDPC of−33.0%.Similar trends of the positive rate were also observed in the eastern(EDPC:−27.7%),central(EDPC:−38.0%)and western regions(EDPC:−25.5%).Couriers and community population showed a similar temporal trend,with the peak daily average newly positive rate of couriers being higher than that of community population.After Round 2,the daily average newly positive rate of couriers decreased sharply,becoming lower than that of community population in the same period.Conclusions:The peak of SARS-CoV-2 infection among couriers in China has passed.As couriers are a key population for SARS-CoV-2 infection,they should be monitored continuously.Yu Wu Fan Ding Jue Liu Wenzhan Jing Wenxin Yan Chenyuan Qin Fangyuan Li Yanping Zhang Guoqing Shi Wannian Liang Qun Li Min Liu 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,11:0
