Pre-collision Granites and Post-collision Intrusive Assemblage of the Kelameili-Harlik Orogenic Belt显示文摘The main types of intrusive rocks in the Kelameili-Harlik Hercynian erogenic belt include calc-alkaline granites, diabase dykes, kaligranites and alkaline granites. Investigation in field geology, petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry shows that the calc-alkaline granites belong to the syntexis-type (or I-type) and were formed in a pre-collisional magmatic arc environment. In consideration of the fact that kaligranites have many features of alkaline granites with higher consolidation temperatures than the calc-alkaline granites and show a discontinuity of minor element and REE evolution in respect to the calc-alkaline granites, they could not have been derived by differentiation of magmas for the calc-alkaline granites, but are likely to have been generated in an environment analogous to that for alkaline granites. The triplet of basic dyke swarms, kaligranites and alkaline granites could be regarded as a prominent indication of the initial stage of post-collisional delamination and extension. | 2 | The long rather than the short allele of 5-HTTLPR predisposes Han Chinese to anxiety and reduced connectivity between prefrontal cortex and amygdala显示文摘The short allele of the serotonin-transporter gene is associated with higher risk for anxiety and depression in Caucasians, but this association is still unclear in Asians. Here, we addressed this issue using behavioral and multi-modal MRI approaches in a large group of healthy Han Chinese participants (n = 233). In contrast to findings in Caucasians, we found that long-allele (L) carriers had higher anxiety scores. In another group (n = 64) experiencing significant levels of depression or anxiety, the L-allele frequency was also significantly higher. In healthy participants, L-carriers had reduced functional and anatomical connectivity between the amygdala and prefrontal cortex (PFC), which was correlated with anxiety or depression scores. Our findings demonstrated that in Chinese Han participants, in contrast to Caucasians, the L-allele confers vulnerability to anxiety or depression and weakens top-down emotional control between the PFC and amygdala. Therefore, ethnic background should be taken into account in gene-related studies and their potential clinical applications. | Haixia Long Bing Liu Bing Hou Chao Wang Jin Li Wen Qin Dawei Wang Yuan Zhou Keith M. | 3 | A Systematic Characterization of Structural Brain Changes in Schizophrenia显示文摘A systematic characterization of the similarities and differences among different methods for detecting structural brain abnormalities in schizophrenia, such as voxel-based morphometry(VBM),tensor-based morphometry(TBM),and projection-based thickness(PBT),is important for understanding the brain pathology in schizophrenia and for developing effective biomarkers for a diagnosis of schizophrenia. However, such studies are still lacking. Here,we performed VBM,TBM,and PBT analyses on T1-weighted brain MR images acquired from 116 patients with schizophrenia and 116 healthy controls. We found that, although all methods detected wide-spread structural changes, different methods captured different information-only 10.35%of the grey matter changes in cortex were detected by all three methods, and VBM only detected 11.36%of the white matter changes detected by TBM.Further, pattern classification between patients and controls revealed that combining different measures improved the classification accuracy(81.9%),indicating that fusion of different structural measures serves as a better neuroimaging marker for the objective diagnosis of schizophrenia. | Wasana Ediri Arachchi Yanmin Peng Xi Zhang Wen Qin Chuanjun Zhuo Chunshui Yu Meng Liang | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,10: | 6
Relationship Between Perisylvian Essential Language Sites and Arcuate Fasciculus in the Left Hemisphere of Healthy Adults显示文摘Essential language sites and the arcuate fasciculus(AF) have been extensively researched. However, the relationship between them remains insufficiently studied, especially in healthy people. Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation(n TMS) is increasingly used in language mapping. While enjoying the advantage of non-invasiveness, it is also capable of inducing a virtual lesion in the brain. Thus, it offers the possibility of using the virtuallesion method to study the healthy brain. This study combined n TMS and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)tractography to investigate the relationship between essential language sites and the AF in 30 healthy right-handedvolunteers. A total of 143 essential language sites were identified using n TMS, and a total of 175 AF terminations were identified using DTI tractography. Sixty-six sites had a direct correlation with the AF, accounting for 46% of the total essential language sites. Forty-seven AF terminations harbored essential language sites, accounting for 27% of the total AF terminations. Upon data rendering to the cortical parcellation system, a region-related heterogeneity of the correlation rate was found. This study provides the first data on the relationship between essential language sites and the AF in healthy adults. | Yu Lin Kai Zhang Shuai Li Song Li Jingna Jin Fang Jin Wen Qin Long Hai Meng Zhu Chunshui Yu Zhipeng Liu Tao Yin Xuejun Yang | 2017 | Neuroscience Bulletin2017,33,6: | 3
ASAF: altered spontaneous activity fingerprinting in Alzheimer’s disease based on multisite fMRI显示文摘Several monocentric studies have noted alterations in spontaneous brain activity in Alzheimer's disease (AD), although there is no consensus on the altered amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in AD patients. The main aim of the present study was to identify a reliable and reproducible abnormal brain activity pattern in AD. The amplitude of local brain activity (AM), which can provide fast mapping of spontaneous brain activity across the whole brain, was evaluated based on multisite rs-fMRI data for 688 subjects (215 normal controls (NCs), 221 amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) 252 AD). Two-sample t-tests were used to detect group differences between AD patients and NCs from the same site. Differences in the AM maps were statistically analyzed via the Stouffer's meta-analysis. Consistent regions of lower spontaneous brain activity in the default mode network and increased activity in the bilateral hippocampus/parahippocampus, thalamus, caudate nucleus, orbital part of the middle frontal gyrus and left fusiform were observed in the AD patients compared with those in NCs. Significant correlations (P?0.05, Bonferroni corrected) between the normalized amplitude index and Mini-Mental State Examination scores were found in the identified brain regions, which indicates that the altered brain activity was associated with cognitive decline in the patients. Multivariate analysis and leave-one-site-out cross-validation led to a 78.49% prediction accuracy for single-patient classification. The altered activity patterns of the identified brain regions were largely correlated with the FDG-PET results from another independent study. These results emphasized the impaired brain activity to provide a robust and reproducible imaging signature of AD. | Jiachen Li Dan Jin Ang Li Bing Liu Chengyuan Song Pan Wang Dawei Wang Kaibin Xu Hongwei Yang Hongxiang Yao Bo Zhou Alexandre Bejanin Gael Chetelat Tong Han Jie Lu Qing Wang Chunshui Yu Xinqing Zhang Yuying Zhou Xi Zhang Tianzi Jiang Yong Liu Ying Han | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,14: | 3

A potential ethnic difference in the association between 5-HTTLPR polymorphisms and the brain default mode network显示文摘The serotonin-transporter-linked polymorphic region(5-HTTLPR)is associated with mood disorders. This association is thought to be due to amygdala hyperresponsiveness to negative emotional stimuli as a result of reduced frontal cortical control. In Caucasians, the short form is associated with this effect, but in Han Chinese we recently found that the long form is involved.Serotonin receptors have rich expression in default mode network(DMN)regions and the recent studies have found an association between the short form of the 5-HTTLPR and DMN functional connectivity(FC)in Caucasians. The present study has investigated whether there may also be anethnic difference in this influence of 5-HTTLPR on the DMN.We recruited 233 young Han Chinese subjects and calculated the resting-state default-network FC.Our study found that the L carriers had decreased FC in the bilateral medial prefrontal cortex, right parahippocampal gyrus, left middle temporal gyrus, and increased FC in left precuneus(Pcu)compared to SS.The PCC-Pcu FC in L carriers was significantly negatively correlated with the depression scores. Our findings, therefore, suggest that there is also a difference between Caucasian and Han Chinese subjects in the association between the different forms of the5-HTTLPR and DMN functional connectivity. | Haixia Long Bing Liu Bing Hou Chao Wang Keith M. | 14 | Reproducible Abnormalities and Diagnostic Generalizability of White Matter in Alzheimer’s Disease显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is associated with the impairment of white matter(WM)tracts. The current study aimed to verify the utility of WM as the neuroimaging marker of AD with multisite diffusion tensor imaging datasets[321 patients with AD,265 patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI),279 normal controls(NC)],a unified pipeline, and independent site cross-validation.Automated fiber quantification was used to extract diffusion profiles along tracts.Random-effects meta-analyses showed a reproducible degeneration pattern in which fractional anisotropy significantly decreased in the AD and MCI groups compared with NC.Machine learning models using tract-based features showed good generalizability among independent site cross-validation.The diffusion metrics of the altered regions and the AD probability predicted by the models were highly correlated with cognitive ability in the AD and MCI groups. We highlighted the reproducibility and generalizability of the degeneration pattern of WM tracts in AD. | Yida Qu Pan Wang Hongxiang Yao Dawei Wang Chengyuan Song Hongwei Yang Zengqiang Zhang Pindong Chen Xiaopeng Kang Kai Du Lingzhong Fan Bo Zhou Tong Han Chunshui Yu Xi Zhang Nianming Zuo Tianzi Jiang Yuying Zhou Bing Liu Ying Han Jie Lu Yong Liu Multi-Center Alzheimer’s Disease Imaging(MCADI)Consortium | 2023 | Neuroscience Bulletin2023,39,10: | 0
Study on Vip protein expression in psoriatic epidermis with the topical treatment of capsaicin ointment显示文摘Objective: To investigate the mechanism of capsaicin in treating active psoriasis vulgaris. Methods: VIP protein in active psoriatic lesions before and 30 days after the treatment of capsaicin ointment was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: There was positive expression of VIP in all layers of psoriatic lesions epidermis (95.5%), but after the treatment of capsaicin ointment, there was nearly no expression of VIP protein in epidermis(22.2%). Conclusion: Capsaicin inhibits proliferation and induces the differentiation of keratinocytes through down-regulating the expression of VIP in psoriatic epidermis. | Chunshui Yu Yanping Xi Shengshun Tan | 2006 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2006,20,2: | 0
