| 1 | Molecular screening of patients with nonsyndromic hearing loss from Nanjing city of China显示文摘Hearing loss is the most frequent sensory disorder involving a multitude of factors,and at least 50% of cases are due to genetic etiology.To further characterize the molecular etiology of hearing loss in the Chinese population,we recruited a total of 135 unrelated patients with nonsyndromic sensorineural hearing loss (NSHL) for mutational screening of GJB2,GJB3,GJB6,SLC26A4,SLC26A5 IVS2-2A>G and mitochondrial 12SrRNA,tRNA Ser(UCN) by PCR amplification and direct DNA sequencing.The carrier frequencies of deafness-causing mutations in these patients were 35.55% in GJB2,3.70% in GJB6,15.56% in SLC26A4 and 8.14% in mitochondrial 12SrRNA,respectively.The results indicate the necessity of genetic screening for mutations of these causative genes in Chinese population with nonsyndromic hearing loss. | Yajie Lu Dachun Dai Zhibin Chen Xin Cao Xingkuan Bu Qinjun Wei Guangqian Xing | 2011 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2011，25，5： | 30 |
| 2 | Hypermethylation and aberrant expression of secreted fizzled-related protein genes in pancreatic cancer显示文摘AIM:To determine the methylation status and aberrant expression of some secreted frizzled-related protein(SFRP) genes in pancreatic cancer and explore their role in pancreatic carcinogenesis.METHODS:Methylation status and expression of SFRP genes were detected by methylation-specific PCR(MSPCR) and reverse-transcription PCR(RT-PCR) respectively.RESULTS:The frequencies of methylation for SFRP genes 1,2,4,5 were 70%,48.3%,60% and 76.7% in pancreatic cancer samples,and 21.7%,20%,10% and 36.7% in matched cancer adjacent normal tissue samples,respectively(χ2 = 28.23,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 1;χ2 = 10.71,P = 0.001 for SFRP gene 2;χ2 = 32.97,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 4;χ2 = 19.55,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 5).Expression loss of SFRP genes 1,2,4 and 5 was found in 65%,40%,55% and 71.7% of 60 pancreatic cancer samples,and 25%,15%,18.3% and 31.7% of matched cancer adjacent normal tissue samples,respectively(χ2 = 19.39,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 1;χ2 = 9.40,P = 0.002 for SFRP gene 2;χ2 = 17.37,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 4;χ2 = 19.22,P < 0.0001 for SFRP gene 5).SFRP gene 1 was methylated but not expressed in PC-3 and PANC-1,SFRP gene 2 was methylated but not expressed in PANC-1 and CFPAC-1,SFRP gene 4 was methylated but not expressed in PC-3,and SFRP gene 5was methylated but not expressed in CFPAC-1. | Xian-Min Bu Cheng-Hai Zhao Ning Zhang Feng Gao Shuai Lin Xian-Wei Dai | 2008 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2008，14，21： | 8 |

| 5 | The heterogeneity of islet autoantibodies and the progression of islet failure in type 1 diabetic patients显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobin A1 c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1 DM patients(duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1 DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. | 7 | Is delayed gastric emptying so terrible after pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy? Prevention and management显示文摘AIM: To explore some operative techniques to prevent the occurrence of delayed gastric emptying (DGE) after pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy (PPPD). METHODS: One hundred and eighty-six patients in a single medical center who accepted PPPD were retrospectively studied. The incidence of DGE was investigated and the influence of some operative techniques on the prevention of DGE was analyzed. RESULTS: During the operative process of PPPD, the methods of detached drainage of pancreatic fluid and bile and gastric fistulization were used. Postoperatively, six patients suffered DGE among the 186 cases; the incidence was 3.23% (6/186). One of them was complicated with intraabdominal infection at the same time, and two with pancreatic leakage. CONCLUSION: Appropriate maneuvers during operation are essential to avoid postoperative DGE in PPPD. The occurrence of DGE is avoidable.
