| 2 | Longitudinal non-vascular transport pathways originating from acupuncture points in extremities visualised in human body显示文摘A subcutaneous transport pathway in humans has been previously visualised by injection of a paramagnetic tracer into the specific region of skin.In the current study,we further investigated the behaviours of imaging tracers in the transport pathways using imaging techniques.Three types of imaging tracers,including Gd-DTPA,iodised oil,and fluorescein sodium,were hypodermically injected into different acupuncture points of healthy volunteers to visualise the transport pathways by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),X-ray,CT,and a digital fluorescein camera.Several longitudinal transport pathways in the arms and feet,which represent venous vessels and subcutaneous transport pathways(STPs) without well-defined boundaries,were visualised by MRI.Among the visualised veins,the partial walls of a few veins were enhanced by Gd-DTPA.The fluorescent images further indicated that STPs likely represent boundless pathways.The findings in this study suggested that specific anatomical structures within the subcutaneous tissues or the partial walls of certain veins werenot vascular conduits but rather represented unique transport pathways in humans that warrant extensive future studies. | Hongyi Li Jiabin Tong Weiguo Cao Min Chen Hua Li Hong Dai Liang Xu Xiaoliang Chen | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35: | 10 |
| 3 | Genetics and Molecular Marker Identification of a Resistance to Glomerella Leaf Spot in Apple显示文摘Apple Glomerella leaf spot(GLS) is a destructive fungal disease that damages apple leaves during the summer in China.Breeding new diseaseresistant varieties is considered to be the best way of controlling GLS.A genetic study of resistance to Glomerella leaf spot(GLS) in apple was conducted by using four F_1 hybrid groups(‘Fuji' בGolden Delicious',‘Golden Delicious' בFuji',‘Gala' בFuji',and ‘Fuji' בQF-2') generated from two highly resistant varieties or selections,‘Fuji' and ‘QF-2',and two highly susceptible varieties,‘Golden Delicious' and ‘Gala'.The results showed that the separation ratios of resistant plants to the susceptible ones in the four F_1 hybrid groups were statistically consistent with the theoretical ratios of 1:1,1:1,0:1,and 1:0.Comprehensive analysis enabled us to generate the following conclusions:GLS resistance in apple may be controlled by a single recessive gene.The genotype of the resistant plants was rr,whereas the genotypes of the susceptible ones were RR and Rr.By using ‘Golden Delicious' בFuji' F_1 hybrid groups and the bulked segregation analysis(BSA) method,the marker S0506206-243 bp associated with disease resistance character to GLS was identified through screening 500 SSR primers encompassing the entire apple genome with even coverage,and the genetic distance between the marker and the GLS resistance gene was 9.8 cM. | LIU Yuanxia LI Baohua WANG Caihong LIU Chunxiao KONG Xianghua ZHU Jun DAI Hongyi | 2016 | Horticultural Plant Journal2016,2,3: | 6 |

| 11 | Tuning the primary selective nanochannels of MOF thin-film nanocomposite nanofiltration membranes for efficient removal of hydrophobic endocrine disrupting compounds显示文摘Metal organic framework(MOF)incorporated thin-film nanocomposite(TFN)membranes have the potential to enhance the removal of endocrine disrupting compounds(EDCs).In MOF-TFN membranes,water transport nanochannels include(i)pores of polyamide layer,(ii)pores in MOFs and(iii)channels around MOFs(polyamide-MOF interface).However,information on how to tune the nanochannels to enhance EDCs rejection is scarce,impeding the refinement of TFN membranes toward efficient removal of EDCs.In this study,by changing the polyamide properties,the water transport nanochannels could be confined primarily in pores of MOFs when the polyamide layer became dense.Interestingly,the improved rejection of EDCs was dependent on the water transport channels of the TFN membrane.At low monomer concentration(i.e.,loose polyamide structure),the hydrophilic nanochannels of MIL-101(Cr)in the polyamide layer could not dominate the membrane separation performance,and hence the extent of improvement in EDCs rejection was relatively low.In contrast,at high monomer concentration(i.e.,dense polyamide structure),the hydrophilic nanochannels of MIL-101(Cr)were responsible for the selective removal of hydrophobic EDCs,demonstrating that the manipulation of water transport nanochannels in the TFN membrane could successfully overcome the permeability and EDCs rejection trade-off.Our results highlight the potential of tuning primary selective nanochannels of MOF-TFN membranes for the efficient removal of EDCs. | Ruobin Dai Hongyi Han Yuting Zhu Xi Wang Zhiwei Wang | 2022 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,4: | 0 |
