Association of emergency room visits for respiratory diseases with sources of ambient PM2.5显示文摘Previous studies have reported associations of short-term exposure to different sources of ambient fine particulate matter(PM2.5)and increased mortality or hospitalizations for respiratory diseases.Few studies, however, have focused on the short-term effects of source-specific PM2.5 on emergency room visits(ERVs)of respiratory diseases.Source apportionment for PM2.5 was performed with Positive Matrix Factorization(PMF)and generalized additive model was applied to estimate associations between source-specific PM2.5 and respiratory disease ERVs.The association of PM2.5 and total respiratory ERVs was found on lag4(RR=1.011,95%CI:1.002,1.020)per interquartile range(76μg/m3)increase.We found PM2.5 to be significantly associated with asthma, bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)ERVs,with the strongest effects on lag5(RR=1.072,95%CI:1.024,1.119),lag4(RR=1.104,95%CI:1.032,1.176)and lag3(RR=1.091,95%CI:1.047,1.135),respectively.The estimated effects of PM2.5 changed little after adjusting for different air pollutants.Six primary PM2.5 sources were identified using PMF analysis, including dust/soil(6.7%),industry emission(4.5%),secondary aerosols(30.3%),metal processing(3.2%),coal combustion(37.5%)and traffic-related source(17.8%).Some of the sources were identified to have effects on ERVs of total respiratory diseases(dust/soil,secondary aerosols, metal processing, coal combustion and traffic-related source),bronchitis ERVs(dust/soil)and COPD ERVs(traffic-related source, industry emission and secondary aerosols).Different sources of PM2.5 contribute to increased risk of respiratory ERVs to different extents, which may provide potential implications for the decision making of air quality related policies, rational emission control and public health welfare.Rui Chi Hongyu Li Qian Wang Qiangrong Zhai Daidai Wang Meng Wu Qichen Liu Shaowei Wu Qingbian Ma Furong Deng Xinbiao Guo 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12:8

Cardiorespiratory Effects of Indoor Ozone Exposure Associated with Changes in Metabolic Profiles among Children:A Repeated-Measure Panel Study显示文摘Ozone is one of the major gaseous pollutants associated with short-term adverse cardiopulmonary effects, even at concentrations below the current indoor air quality limits. However, the underlying biological mechanisms of cardiorespiratory changes with exposure to ozone remain unclear. To further explore molecular linkages between indoor ozone exposure and relevant cardiorespiratory effects,a repeated-measure panel study including 46 schoolchildren was conducted and real-time exposure measurements including ozone were performed inside classrooms every weekday during the study period.Repeated health measurements and urine sample collection were conducted in each participant.Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry and meet-in-metabolite approach were used in metabolomics analysis. Methods including mixed-effect models were adopted to identify metabolites associated with ozone exposure or health indices.Nine metabolites were found to be associated with ozone after mixed-effect model analysis, which are mainly involved in amino acid and bile acid metabolism.Boys may have a greater decrease in bile acid and RNA related metabolites.Four of the nine ozone-related metabolites were also associated with cardiorespiratory function indices.Furthermore,26.67%of the positive association between ozone and heart rate was mediated by cholestane-3,7,12,25-tetrol-3-glucuronide.Exposure to ozone below the current indoor standards was associated with the deteriorated cardiovascular function by disturbing bile acid and endogenous nitric oxide-related oxidation and inflammation, and associated with the exacerbated airway inflammation by reducing GPx-related anti-oxidation.The results provide metabolic evidence of the cardiorespiratory effects of indoor ozone exposure.Indoor ozone pollution should be controlled further, and more attention should be paid to preventing its adverse health effects, especially in children.Shan Liu Qingyu Huang Xi Zhang Wei Dong Wenlou Zhang Shaowei Wu Di Yang Bingru Nan Jie Zhang Heqing Shen Xinbiao Guo Furong Deng 2021The Innovation2021,2,1:1
A clique-superposition model for social networks显示文摘How does a social network evolve? Sociologists have studied this question for many years.According to some famous sociologists, social links are driven by social intersections.Actors who affiliate with the shared intersections tend to become interpersonally linked and form a cluster. In the social network,an actor cluster could be a clique or a group of several smaller-sized cliques. Thus we can conclude that a social network is composed of superposed cliques of different sizes. However, sociologists did not verify the theory in large scale data due to lack of computing ability.Motivated by this challenge, incorporated with the theory,we utilize data mining technologies to study the evolution patterns of large scale social networks in real world. Then,we propose a novel Clique-superposition generative model, which generates undirected weighted networks.By extensive experiments,we demonstrate that our model can generate networks with static and time evolving patterns observed not only in earlier literature but also in our work.YAN Fei CAI ShaoWei ZHANG Ming LIU GuoJun DENG ZhiHong 2013Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,5:1
Recent Progress of Carbon Nanotubes Reinforced MgO-C and Al_2O_3-C Refractories显示文摘Carbon nanotubes( CNTs) have been extensively studied over the last two decades since they possess excellent properties. CNTs have been considered as new promising reinforcements for carbon containing refractories( CCRs). Current research progress of the CNT-reinforced MgO- C and Al2O3- C refractories was summarized in this mini-review,and the CNT-reinforced CCRs possess remarkable mechanical properties and superior thermal shock resistance compared to CCRs without CNTs.WANG Junkai DENG Xiangong LI Faliang ZHANG Haijun ZHANG Shaowei 2014China's Refractories2014,23,4:1

A homologous and molecular dual-targeted biomimetic nanocarrier for EGFR-related non-small cell lung cancer therapy显示文摘The abnormal activation of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)drives the development of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).The EGFR-targeting tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib is frequently used to clinically treat NSCLC and exhibits marked efficacy in patients with NSCLC who have an EGFR mutation. However, free osimertinib administration exhibits an inadequate response in vivo, with only~3%patients demonstrating a complete clinical response.Consequently,we designed a biomimetic nanoparticle(CMNP^(@Osi))comprising a polymeric nanoparticle core and tumor cell-derived membrane-coated shell that combines membrane-mediated homologous and molecular targeting for targeted drug delivery, thereby supporting a dual-target strategy for enhancing osimertinib efficacy. After intravenous injection,CMNP^(@Osi)accumulates at tumor sites and displays enhanced uptake into cancer cells based on homologous targeting.Osimertinib is subsequently released into the cytoplasm, where it suppresses the phosphorylation of upstream EGFR and the downstream AKT signaling pathway and inhibits the proliferation of NSCLC cells. Thus, this dual-targeting strategy using a biomimetic nanocarrier can enhance molecular-targeted drug delivery and improve clinical efficacy.Bin Xu Fanjun Zeng Jialong Deng Lintong Yao Shengbo Liu Hengliang Hou Yucheng Huang Hongyuan Zhu Shaowei Wu Qiaxuan Li Weijie Zhan Hongrui Qiu Huili Wang Yundong Li Xianzhu Yang Ziyang Cao Yu Zhang Haiyu Zhou 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,9:1
Experimental exploration of five-qubit quantum error-correcting code with superconducting qubits显示文摘Quantum error correction is an essential ingredient for universal quantum computing.D espite tremendous experimental efforts in the study of quantum error correction,to date, there has been no demonstration in the realis ation of universal quantum error-correcting code, with the subsequent verification of all key features including the identification of an arbitrary physical error, the capability for transversal manipulation of the logical state and state decoding. To address this challenge,we experimentally realise the [5,1,3]code,the so-called smallest perfect code that permits corrections of generic single-qubit errors. In the experiment, having optimised the encoding circuit,we employ an array of superconducting qubits to realise the [5,1,3] code for several typical logical states including the magic state,an indispensable resource for realising non-Clifford gates. The encoded states are prepared with an average fidelity of 57.1(3)% while with a high fidelity of 98.6(1)% in the code space. Then, the arbitrary single-qubit errors introduced manually are identified by measuring the stabilisers. We further implement logical Pauli operations with a fidelity of 97.2(2)% within the code space. Finally,we realise the decoding circuit and recover the input state with an overall fidelity of 74.5(6)%,in total with 92 gates. Our work demonstrates each key aspect of the [5,1,3] code and verifies the viability of experimental realisation of quantum error-correcting codes with superconducting qubits.Ming Gong Xiao Yuan Shiyu Wang Yulin Wu Youwei Zhao Chen Zha Shaowei Li Zhen Zhang Qi Zhao Yunchao Liu Futian Liang Jin Lin Yu Xu Hui Deng Hao Rong He Lu Simon C.Benjamin Cheng-Zhi Peng Xiongfeng Ma Yu-Ao Chen Xiaobo Zhu Jian-Wei Pan 2022National Science Review2022,9,1:1

Two antibodies show broad, synergistic neutralization against SARS-CoV-2 variants by inducing conformational change within the RBD显示文摘Continual evolution of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)virus has allowed for its gradual evasion of neutralizing antibodies(nAbs)produced in response to natural infection or vaccination. The rapid nature of these changes has incited a need for the development of superior broad nAbs(bnAbs)and/or the rational design of an antibody cocktail that can protect against the mutated virus strain. Here,we report two angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 competing nAbs—8H12 and 3E2—with synergistic neutralization but evaded by some Omicron subvariants.Cryo-electron microscopy reveals the two nAbs synergistic neutralizing virus through a rigorous pairing permitted by rearrangement of the 472-489 loop in the receptor-binding domain to avoid steric clashing.Bispecific antibodies based on these two nAbs tremendously extend the neutralizing breadth and restore neutralization against recent variants including currently dominant XBB.1.5.Together,these findings expand our understanding of the potential strategies for the neutralization of SARS-CoV-2 variants toward the design of broad-acting antibody therapeutics and vaccines.Hui Sun Tingting Deng Yali Zhang Yanling Lin Yanan Jiang Yichao Jiang Yang Huang Shuo Song Lingyan Cui Tingting Li Hualong Xiong Miaolin Lan Liqin Liu Yu Li Qianjiao Fang Kunyu Yu Wenling Jiang Lizhi Zhou Yuqiong Que Tianying Zhang Quan Yuan Tong Cheng Zheng Zhang Hai Yu Jun Zhang Wenxin Luo Shaowei Li Qingbing Zheng Ying Gu Ningshao Xia 2024Protein & Cell2024,15,2:0
