SHRIMP U-Pb Zircon Geochronology of the Xiaotongguanshan and Shatanjiao Intrusions and Its Petrological Implications in the Tongling Area, Anhui显示文摘This paper determines the crystallization ages of the Xiaotongguanshan quartz monzodiorite and Shatanjiao quartz monzonite porphyry from the Tongling area using the SHRIMP zircon U-Pb method. The crystallization age of the former is 142.8±1.8 Ma; that of the latter is 151.8±2.6 Ma. These data indicate that they were formed during the Late Jurassic (142.8 to 151.8 Ma). Zoned magma chamber was formed because of double diffusive convection. Therefore, the intrusive sequence of magma is generally from quartz monzonite through quartz monzodiorite to pyroxene monzodiorite, i.e. an inverted sequence.DI Yongjun WU Ganguo ZHANG Da SONG Biao ZANG Wenshuan ZHANG Zhongyi LI Jinwen 2005Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2005,79,6:22
Cell–cell contact with proinflammatory macrophages enhances the immunotherapeutic effect of mesenchymal stem cells in two abortion models显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),which are pluripotent cells with immunomodulatory properties, have been considered good candidates for the therapy of several immune disorders, such as inflammatory bowel diseases, concanavalin A-induced liver injury, and graft-versus-host disease. The embryo is a natural allograft to the maternal immune system.A successful pregnancy depends on the timely extinction of the inflammatory response induced by embryo implantation, followed by the switch to a tolerant immune microenvironment in both the uterus and the system.Excessive infiltration of immune cells and serious inflammatory responses are triggers for embryo rejection, which results in miscarriage. Here,we demonstrated that adoptive transfer of MSCs could prevent fetal loss in a lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced abortion model and immune response-mediated spontaneous abortion model. The immunosuppressive MSCs alleviated excessive inflammation by inhibiting CD4+T cell proliferation and promoting the decidual macrophage switch to M2 in a tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene-6(TSG-6)-dependent manner.Cell-tocell contact with proinflammatory macrophages increased the TSG-6 production by the MSCs,thereby enhancing the suppressive regulation of T cells and macrophages. Moreover, proinflammatory macrophages in contact with the MSCs upregulated the expression of CD200 on the stem cells and facilitated the reprogramming of macrophages towards an anti-inflammatory skew through the interaction of CD200 with CD200R on proinflammatory macrophages. Therefore, the results demonstrate that a TSG-6-mediated paracrine effect, reinforced by cell-to-cell contact between MSCs and proinflammatory macrophages,is involved in the mechanism of MSC-mediated abortion relief through the induction of immune tolerance. Our study also indicates the potential application of MSCs in clinical recurrent miscarriages.Yanhong Li Di Zhang Ling Xu Lin Dong Ji Zheng Yikong Lin Jiefang Huang Yanyun Zhang Yu Tao Xingxing Zang Dajin Li Meirong Du 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,12:23
SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating of the intrusives in the Tongling metallogenic cluster and its dynamic setting显示文摘This paper selected five typical Mesozoic intrusives from the Tongling metallogenic cluster (Xiaotongguanshan, Fenghuangshan, Xinqiao, Dongguashan, and Shatanjiao plutons), and made a systemic SHRIMP zircon U-Pb dating for the five plutons, which produced an age range of 151.8±2.6- 142.8±1.8 Ma. This work put an accurate constraint on the formation age of the intrusives in the Tongling metallogenic cluster. These age data indicate that magmatic activity reached a peak during Late Jurassic. The intrusive sequence of magma is generally from quartz monzonite (porphyry) through monzonite to granodiorite to quartz monzodiorite to pyroxene monzodiorite to gabbro-diabase. The intrusives of different lithology differed in crystallization age, probably implying the intrusives in the Tongling area underwent an evolutional process of magma, which was closely related to geodynamical setting in the depths of the area. A dynamic model was presented for the origin of the igneous rocks in the study area as follows. The assembly between the Yangtze craton and the North China craton fini- shed at the end of T3, and then the stage of another compressional orogeny began in the Tongling area, i.e., Pacific dynamic system. Along with the subduction of the Izanagi plate underneath the Eurasian plate at J2-J3, NW-trending compression toward the East China continent was produced, and compres- sional deformation also took place, forming NE-trending fold and resulting in thickening of the crust in the Tongling area. High-density eclogite-facies rocks were produced in the low part of the crust, re- sulting in the delamination of mantle lithosphere and lower crust, and upwelling of materials in as- thenosphere. Decompression melting produced basaltic magma, and the materials in lower crust were heated by the underplating of the basaltic magma. Thus, melting of lower crust yielded granitic magma, which intruded along deep and large faults through various geological processes (J3-K1). The SHRIMP U-Pb zircon age of 151.8±2.6-142.8±1.8 Ma for intrusives in the Tongling area suggests that the de- lamination of lithosphere mantle and lower crust at least began at middle-late stage of Late Jurassic, resulting in sharp thinning of lithosphere and intense extension of middle-upper crust. Thus, a lot of decollements were produced between cover and cover, basement and cover, and middle and lower crust. This was structural layering or detachment of lithosphere in the Tongling area. Three concordant ages for old inherited cores of magmatic origin (747-823 Ma) indicated that there were obvious mag- matism in the Tongling area during Neoproterozoic, and a little more of the Neoproterozoic igneous source rocks participated in the formation of Mesozoic intrusives.GanGuo Wu Da Zhang YongJun Di WenShuan Zang XiangXin Zhang Biao Song ZhongYi Zhang 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,7:11
Neuroimage-Based Consciousness Evaluation of Patients with Secondary Doubtful Hydrocephalus Before and After Lumbar Drainage显示文摘Hydrocephalus is often treated with a cerebrospinal fluid shunt(CFS) for excessive amounts of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. However,it is very difficult to distinguish whether the ventricular enlargement is due to hydrocephalus or other causes, such as brain atrophy after brain damage and surgery. The non-trivial evaluation of the consciousness level, along with a continuous drainage test of the lumbar cistern is thus clinically important before the decision for CFS is made.We studied 32 secondary mild hydrocephalus patients with different consciousness levels, who received T1 and diffusion tensor imaging magnetic resonance scans before and after lumbar cerebrospinal fluid drainage. We applied a novel machine-learning method to find the most discriminative features from the multi-modal neuroimages. Then,we built a regression model to regress the JFK Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R) scores to quantify the level of consciousness. The experimental results showed that our method not only approximated the CRS-R scores but also tracked the temporal changes in individual patients. The regression model has high potential for the evaluation of consciousness in clinical practice.Jiayu Huo Zengxin Qi Sen Chen Qian Wang Xuehai Wu Di Zang Tanikawa Hiromi Jiaxing Tan Lichi Zhang Weijun Tang Dinggang Shen 2020Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,9:7
Uncertainty-optimized deep learning model for small-scale person re-identification显示文摘In recent years, deep learning has developed rapidly and is widely used in various fields, such as computer vision, speech recognition, and natural language processing. For end-to-end person re-identification,most deep learning methods rely on large-scale datasets. Relatively few methods work with small-scale datasets. Insufficient training samples will affect neural network accuracy significantly. This problem limits the practical application of person re-identification. For small-scale person re-identification, the uncertainty of person representation and the overfitting problem associated with deep learning remain to be solved.Quantifying the uncertainty is difficult owing to complex network structures and the large number of hyperparameters. In this study, we consider the uncertainty of pedestrian representation for small-scale person re-identification. To reduce the impact of uncertain person representations, we transform parameters into distributions and conduct multiple sampling by using multilevel dropout in a testing process. We design an improved Monte Carlo strategy that considers both the average distance and shortest distance for matching and ranking. When compared with state-of-the-art methods, the proposed method significantly improve accuracy on two small-scale person re-identification datasets and is robust on four large-scale datasets.Cairong ZHAO Kang CHEN Di ZANG Zhaoxiang ZHANG Wangmeng ZUO Duoqian MIAO 2019Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,12:6

Role of carbon in modifying solidification and microstructure of a Ni?based superalloy with high Al and Ti contents显示文摘The effect of carbon ranging from 0.014 to 0.071 wt.%on the solidification and microstructure of a Ni-based superalloy with high Al and Ti contents was studied. The results show that the increase in carbon addition significantly increases the size and volume fraction of MC carbides and promotes the change of their morphology from blocky to elongated shape. However, the carbon addition obviously decreases the size and volume fraction of eutectic(γ+γ′)and reducesηphase and borides formation. The change in carbide characteristics is mainly because of the increasing carbide-forming element and carbides precipitation temperature with the increase in carbon which favors the growth of them along the interdendritic liquid film.MC carbides are formed at an earlier solidification stage than the eutectic(γ+γ′).The increased carbide formation consumes more Ti,which delays and reduces the eutectic(γ+γ′)precipitation. The delay of eutectic(γ+γ′)precipitation leads to a deeper undercooling, which significantly decreases the critical Ti concentration for its precipitation. This,in turn, lowers Ti/Al ratio in residual liquids ahead of the eutectic(γ+γ′)and hence reducesηformation subsequently.B and Zr are slightly enriched in the carbides, which are considered during discussing how carbon influences the eutectic(γ+γ′)precipitation.Guang‑di Zhao Xi‑min Zang Wen‑ru Sun 2021Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2021,28,1:2
Orbital-regulated interfacial electronic coupling endows Ni3N with superior catalytic surface for hydrogen evolution reaction显示文摘The interstitial structure and weak Ni-N interaction of Ni3N lead to high unoccupied d orbital energy and unsuitable orbital orientation, which consequently results in weak orbital coupling with H2O and slow water dissociation kinetics for alkaline hydrogen evolution catalysis.Herein,we successfully lower the unoccupied d orbital energy of Ni3N to strengthen the interfacial electronic coupling by employing the strong electron pulling capability of oxygen dopants. The prepared O-Ni3N catalyst delivers an overpotential of 55 mV at 10 mA cm−2,very close to the commercial Pt/C.Refined structural characterization indicates the oxygen incorporation can decrease the electron densities around the Ni sites. Moreover, density functional theory calculation further proves the oxygen incorporation can create more unoccupied orbitals with lower energy and superior orientation for water adsorption and dissociation. The concept of orbital-regulated interfacial electronic coupling could offer a unique approach for the rational design of hydrogen evolution catalysts and beyond.Yanyan Fang Da Sun Shuwen Niu Jinyan Cai Yipeng Zang Yishang Wu Linqin Zhu Yufang Xie Yun Liu Zixuan Zhu Amirabbas Mosallanezhad Di Niu Zheng Lu Junjie Shi Xiaojing Liu Dewei Rao Gongming Wang Yitai Qian 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,11:1
Changes in the Photosynthetic Pigment Contents and Transcription Levels of Phycoerythrin-Related Genes in Three Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis Strains Under Different Light Intensities显示文摘Three Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis strains, including wild type and high-temperature-resistant cultivars 981 and 2007,were studied with the changes in their photosynthetic pigment contents and related gene transcription levels under different light intensities(10,60,100,and 200μmolm^(−2)s^(−1)).The three G.lemaneiformis strains had the following photosynthetic pigments with high-to-low contents:phycoerythrin(PE),phycocyanin(PC),allophycocyanin(APC),and chlorophyll a(Chl a).Among the three strains, cultivar 981 had the highest PE content, followed by cultivar 2007.The PC and APC contents were similar among the three strains, but they were higher in cultivars 981 and 2007 than in the wild type. The Chl a contents in the three G.lemaneiformis strains were equal.A low light intensity(10μmolm^(−2)s^(−1))promoted photosynthetic pigment accumulation in G.lemaneiformis and improved the relative PE gene transcription(peA and peB)in a short period(≤6 d).A high light intensity decreased the PE content.PebA and PebB,which catalyzed phycoerythrobilin synthesis, showed no compensatory upregulation at a low light intensity among the strains except for the wild type.At a high light intensity, transcription levels of pebA and pebB in the three strains were upregulated. This study provided an experimental basis for elucidating the photosynthesis of G.lemaneiformis.As key genes of algal growth,photo-synthesis-related genes served as useful gene markers for screening elite varieties with good traits in breeding.Cultivar 2007 was superior to cultivar 981 in terms of maintaining high pigment levels in a wide range of light intensities, which is the most suitable for aquaculture.CAO Xuexue WANG Haitao ZANG Xiaonan LIU Zhu XU Di JIN Yuming ZHANG Feng WANG Zhendong 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,3:1
Lyase Activities of Heterologous CpcS and CpcT for Phycocyanin Holo-β-subunit from Arthrospira platensis in Escherichia coli显示文摘Arthrospira platensis is an economically important cyanobacterium; and it has been used widely in food and pharmaceutical industries. The phycocyanin(PC) from A. platensis is extremely valuable in medicine and molecular biology due to its antioxidation and anti-tumoring activity and applicability as fluorescence protein tag. In present study, two recombinant plasmids, one contained the phycocyanobilin(PCB)-producing genes(hox1 and pcyA) while the other contained the phycobiliprotein gene(cpcB) and the lyase gene(either cpcS/U or cpcT), were constructed and synchronically transferred into E. coli in order to test the the activities of relevant lyases for catalysing PCB addition to CpcB during synthesizing fluorescent PC holo-β-subunit(β-PC) of A. platensis. As was evidenced by the fluorescence emitted at a peak specific for PC, CpcB was successfully synthesized in E. coli, to which co-expressed PCBs attached though at a relatively low efficiency. The results showed that the attachment of PCBs to CpcB were carried out mainly by co-expressed CpcS/U but CpcB also showed some autocatalytic activity. Currently, no CpcT activity was detected in this E. coli expression system. Further studies will be conducted to improve the efficiency of fluorescent PC synthesis in E. coli.YI Junjie XU Di ZANG Xiaonan YUAN Dingyang ZHAO Bingran TANG Li TAN Yanning ZHANG Xuecheng 2014Journal of Ocean University of China2014,13,3:1

Accelerating water dissociation kinetics of Ni3N by tuning interfacial orbital coupling显示文摘The high unoccupied d band energy of Ni_(3)N basically results in weak orbital coupling with water molecule, consequently leading to slow water dissociation kinetics.Herein,we demonstrate Cr doping can downshift the unoccupied d orbitals and strengthen the interfacial orbital coupling to boost the water dissociation kinetics. The prepared Cr-Ni_(3)N/Ni displays an impressive overpotential of 37 mV at 10 mA·cmgeo-2,close to the benchmark Pt/C in 1.0 M KOH solution.Refined structural analysis reveals the Cr dopant exists as the Cr-N_(6)states and the average d band energy of Ni_(3)N is also lowered.Density functional theory calculation further confirms the downshifted d band energy can strengthen the orbital coupling between the unpaired electrons in O 2p and the unoccupied state of Ni 3d,which thus facilitates the water adsorption and dissociation. The work provides a new concept to achieve on-demand functions for hydrogen evolution catalysis and beyond,by regulating the interfacial orbital coupling.Yishang Wu Yufang Xie Shuwen Niu Yipeng Zang Jinyan Cai Zenan Bian Xuanwei Yin Yanyan Fang Da Sun Di Niu Zheng Lu Amirabbas Mosallanezhad Huijuan Wang Dewei Rao Hongge Pan Gongming Wang 2021Nano Research2021,14,10:1
Bioresorbable Multilayer Photonic Cavities as Temporary Implants for Tether-Free Measurements of Regional Tissue Temperatures显示文摘Objective and Impact Statement.Real-time monitoring of the temperatures of regional tissue microenvironments can serve as the diagnostic basis for treating various health conditions and diseases.Introduction.Traditional thermal sensors allow measurements at surfaces or at near-surface regions of the skin or of certain body cavities.Evaluations at depth require implanted devices connected to external readout electronics via physical interfaces that lead to risks for infection and movement constraints for the patient. Also, surgical extraction procedures after a period of need can introduce additional risks and costs.Methods.Here,we report a wireless, bioresorbable class of temperature sensor that exploits multilayer photonic cavities, for continuous optical measurements of regional,deep-tissue microenvironments over a timeframe of interest followed by complete clearance via natural body processes.Results.The designs decouple the influence of detection angle from temperature on the reflection spectra,to enable high accuracy in sensing,as supported by in vitro experiments and optical simulations.Studies with devices implanted into subcutaneous tissues of both awake, freely moving and asleep animal models illustrate the applicability of this technology for in vivo measurements.Conclusion.The results demonstrate the use of bioresorbable materials in advanced photonic structures with unique capabilities in tracking of thermal signatures of tissue microenvironments, with potential relevance to human healthcare.Wubin Bai Masahiro Irie Zhonghe Liu Haiwen Luan Daniel Franklin Khizar Nandoliya Hexia Guo Hao Zang Yang Weng Di Lu Di Wu Yixin Wu Joseph Song Mengdi Han Enming Song Yiyuan Yang Xuexian Chen Hangbo Zhao Wei Lu Giuditta Monti Iwona Stepien Irawati Kandela Chad R.Haney Changsheng Wu Sang Min Won Hanjun Ryu Alina Rwei Haixu Shen Jihye Kim Hong-Joon Yoon Wei Ouyang Yihan Liu Emily Suen Huang-yu Chen Jerry Okina Jushen Liang Yonggang Huang Guillermo A.Ameer Weidong Zhou John A.Rogers 2021Biomedical Engineering Frontiers2021,2,1:0
Maternal aging increases offspring adult body size via transmission of donut-shaped mitochondria显示文摘Maternal age at childbearing has continued to increase in recent decades. However, whether and how it influences offspring adult traits are largely unknown. Here, using adult body size as the primary readout,we reveal that maternal rather than paternal age has an evolutionarily conserved effect on offspring adult traits in humans,Drosophila, and Caenorhabditis elegans.Elucidating the mechanisms of such effects in humans and other long-lived animals remains challenging due to their long life course and difficulties in conducting in vivo studies. We thus employ the short-lived and genetically tractable nematode C.elegans to explore the mechanisms underlying the regulation of offspring adult trait by maternal aging.By microscopic analysis,we find that old worms transmit aged mitochondria with a donut-like shape to offspring. These mitochondria are rejuvenated in the offspring’s early life, with their morphology fully restored before adulthood in an AMPK-dependent manner.Mechanistically,we demonstrate that early-life mitochondrial dysfunction activates AMPK,which in turn not only alleviates mitochondrial abnormalities but also activates TGFβsignaling to increase offspring adult size.Together, our findings provide mechanistic insight into the ancient role of maternal aging in shaping the traits of adult offspring.Runshuai Zhang Jinan Fang Ting Qi Shihao Zhu Luxia Yao Guicun Fang Yunsheng Li Xiao Zang Weina Xu Wanyu Hao Shouye Liu Dan Yang Di Chen Jian Yang Xianjue Ma Lianfeng Wu 2023Cell Research2023,33,11:0
Effect of extrusion temperature on microstructure and tensile properties of Mg-Gd-Er-Zn-Zr alloy containing LPSO phase显示文摘The Mg-1Gd-0.75Er-0.5Zn-0.18Zr(at.%)alloy with long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase was prepared by metal mold casting and hot extrusion. The extruded samples had a typical bimodal microstructure. The different fractions of equiaxed grains were observed in annealed samples. The percentage of fine grains decreased in the extruded Mg alloys with and without annealing treatment when the extrusion temperature was increased. The LPSO phases promote recrystal-lization behavior in the samples through particle-stimulated nucleation(PSN)mechanism. The Mg alloys extruded at 300℃ with or without annealing treatment obtained the best tensile properties. At the low extrusion temperature, more finely equiaxed grains with random texture are formed through PSN,and more LPSO phase kink bands are formed, which could improve the mechanical properties of the extruded Mg alloys.Si-shu Wang Qian-hao Zang Hong-mei Chen Yu-hang Guo Feng-jian Shi Di Feng 2023Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2023,30,8:0
Cooling and wetting of soil decelerated ground freezingethawing processes of the active layer in Xing'an permafrost regions in Northeast China显示文摘The accelerated or decelerated freezingethawing processes of the active layer in Xing'an permafrost regions are crucial for the protection of permafrost. To better understand the freezingethawing processes of the active layer and its driving factors, according to the observation from 2017 to 2020 of soil temperature and water content in the active layer of forest and peatland in two representative hemiboreal ecosystems in the Da Xing'anling Mountains,Northeast China, the study explored in detail the effects of climatic conditions and local factors on the hydrothermal and freezingethawing processes of active layer soils. The results showed that during the freezingethawing cycles of 2017-2020,freezing and thawing start times in the peatland and forest ecosystems soils were generally delayed, and it took longer for the active layer soil to completely thaw than to freeze. The annual average soil temperature in the peatland's active layer(5-80 cm)was 0.7-2.0℃ lower than that in the forest, and the annual average soil moisture content on the peatland was 5.5%-26.7%higher than that in the forest.Compared with the forest ecosystem soils, the ground surface freezing time of the peatland was delayed by 3e10 d,and the freezing rate decreased by 1.1-1.5 cm d1,while the beginning time of thawing was advanced by 22-27 d,and the thawing rate decreased by 1.3-1.4 cm d^(-1).In the process of decreasing soil temperature and increasing soil moisture content, the freezing and thawing rate of the active layer would be reduced, decelerating the freezingethawing processes of the active layer in the process of decreasing soil temperature and increasing soil moisture content. The results provide the key original data for studying the formation and evolution of active layer and permafrost in the Xing'an permafrost regions in Northeast China and can be used to validate the prediction of ecosystem succession under the combined influences of climate change and permafrost degradation.Bo-Quan LU Shu-Ying ZANG Li-Quan SONG Li SUN Miao LI Di BING 2023Advances in Climate Change Research2023,14,1:0
