| 1 | Comprehensive eco-environmental effects of the shelter-forest ecological engineering along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘In this work, we report a comprehensive study about the eco-environmental effects of the shelter forest along the Tarim Desert Highway, including the effects on aeolian environment, soil, micro-climate, biodiversity, and groundwater. The results show that: (1) The movement of windblown sand near the ground surface was affected by the shelter forest. The wind speed and sediment transport rate in the shelter forest decreased by 64%―80% and 87.45%―99.02%, respectively. In addition, there were also significant changes in the sand flux structure, the sand grain size, and the deflation and deposition on the ground surface. (2) Compared to the natural mobile sand, the soil bulk density in the forest area decreased while the total salt content, the total porosity, and the water content increased. In addition, the soil fertility was significantly improved in the forest area, and showed the 'first rapid, then slow' variation pattern. (3) The shelter forest showed positive effects on the micro-climate. Within the 6 m height above the ground, the air temperature in the shelter forest at different heights was lower than that in the mobile sand, while the air humidity was higher, while, the soil temperature was also lower in the shelter forest than mobile sand. (4) The number of soil microbial species increased significantly with the improvement of habitat in the shelterbelt. However, the population of different species was not distributed evenly across the surveyed area. (5) Currently, no significant effects of groundwater-pumping and forest-irrigation water have been found on the groundwater level and its salinity. The variation amplitude of both groundwater level and salinity was at the level of centimeters and 1g/L, respectively. | 2 | Classification and regionalization of the forming environment of windblown sand disasters along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘Through the systematic field survey and observations, the factor quantification as well as setting the criteria, the sand disaster-forming environment along the Tarim Desert Highway can be divided into four grades by the classification and regionalization based on fuzzy mathematics. The length of the regions with significant sand disaster accounted for 37.1% of the total highway length. Particularly, the area along the Tarim Desert Highway, based on the sand disaster-forming environment classification as well as the difference in the five basic landform units along the highway, combined with the difference of wind regime, can be divided into five regions, in which the length of the regions suffering severe sand damage occupied 64.3% of the total highway length. | 5 | Biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods for photothermo-chemotherapy and macrophage polarization modulation显示文摘Nanotechnology-based photothermal therapy has attracted great attention in the past decade. Nevertheless, photothermal therapy has some inherent drawbacks, such as the uneven heat production and limited laser penetration, often leading to insufficient treatment outcomes. Here, we developed a combination strategy to improve cancer therapy. The biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods(AuNRs) were prepared with incorporation of paclitaxel(PTX). This therapeutic system was characterized by several features. First, the albumin modification enhanced the biocompatibility and colloidal stability. Second, the surface-coated albumin promoted cellular uptake via the albumin-binding protein pathway. Third, PTX was incorporated via hydrophobic interaction between PTX and the albumin lipophilic domain. Fourth, the system can be used for combined photothermo-chemotherapy for yielding synergistic effects. The antitumor activity of the system was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo using the HCT116 colon cancer cell and tumor model. The combination therapy was found with an enhanced treatment efficiency and no obvious side effect. Most importantly, the thermal effect was also discovered with the ability to modulate the tumor microenvironments and suppress the macrophages polarization towards the M2 pro-tumor phenotype. It could be a mechanism for photothermal immunotherapy. | 7 | Preparation of 5-fluorouracil-loaded chitosan nanoparticles and study of the sustained release in vitro and in vivo显示文摘The sustained-release properties of the biodegradable nano-drug delivery systems were used to improve the residence time of the chemotherapeutic agent in the body. These drug delivery systems were widely used to deliver chemotherapeutic drugs. The 5-fluorouracil loaded chitosan nanoparticles prepared in this paper have the above advantage. Here, we found that when the mass ratio of 5-fluorouracil and chitosan was 1:1, the maximum drug loading of nanoparticles was 20.13 ± 0.007%, the encapsulation efficiency was 44.28 ± 1.69%, the particle size was 283.9 ± 5.25 nm and the zeta potential was 45.3 ± 3.23 mV. The prepared nanoparticles had both burst-release and sustained-release phases in vitro release studies.In addition, the inhibitory effect of the prepared nanoparticles on gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells was similar to that of 5-fluorouracil injection, and the blank vector had no obvious inhibitory effect on SGC-7901 cells. | 8 | Interfacial Bonding Mechanism and Mechanical Performance of Continuous Fiber Reinforced Composites in Additive Manufacturing显示文摘The additive manufacturing of continuous fiber composites has the advantage of a high-precision and efficient forming process,which can realize the lightweight and integrated manufacturing of complex structures.However,many void defects exist between layers in the printing process of additive manufacturing;consequently,the bonding performance between layers is poor.The bonding neck is considered a key parameter for representing the quality of interfacial bonding.In this study,the formation mechanism of the bonding neck was comprehensively analyzed.First,the influence of the nozzle and basement temperatures on the printing performance and bonding neck size was measured.Second,CT scanning was used to realize the quantitative characterization of bonding neck parameters,and the reason behind the deviation of actual measurements from theoretical calculations was analyzed.When the nozzle temperature increased from 180 to 220℃,CT measurement showed that the bonding neck diameter increased from 0.29 to 0.34 mm,and the cross-sectional porosity reduced from 5.48%to 3.22%.Finally,the fracture mechanism was studied,and the influence of the interfacial bonding quality on the destruction process of the materials was determined.In conclusion,this study can assist in optimizing the process parameters,which improves the precision of the printing parts and performance between the layers. | Congze Fan Zhongde Shan Guisheng Zou Li Zhan Dongdong Yan | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,1: | 4 |
| 9 | Surfactant-Encapsulated Polyoxometalate Complex as a Cathode Interlayer for Nonfullerene Polymer Solar Cells显示文摘An alcohol-soluble,environmentally friendly,and low-cost surfactant-encapsulated polyoxometalate complex[(C8H17)4N]4[SiW_(12)O40](TOASiW_(12))as a cathode interlayer(CIL)has exhibited excellent universality for various active layers and cathodes in nonfullerene polymer solar cells(NF-PSCs).In particular,incorporating TOASiW_(12) as the CIL enhanced power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)of the PM6:Y6-based NF-PSCs with Al or Ag cathode to 16.14%and 15.89%,respectively,and the PCEs of PM6:BTP-BO4Cl-based NF-PSCs with Al or Ag cathode to 17.04%and 17.00%,respectively.More importantly,the performances of the devices with TOASiW_(12) were insensitive to the TOASiW_(12) thickness from 3 to 33 nm.Furthermore,the NF-PSCs with TOASiW_(12) exhibited better device stability.Combined characterization of the photocurrent density versus effective voltage,capacitance versus voltage and electron mobility demonstrated that TOASiW_(12) as the CIL effectively promoted exciton dissociation,charge-carrier extraction,built-in potential,charge-carrier density,and electron mobility in the NF-PSCs.These findings suggest that TOASiW_(12) is a promising,competitive CIL for NF-PSCs fabricated by roll-to-roll processing. | Jing Qiu Yue Zhang Yan Liu Huiru Liu Dongdong Xia Fan Yang Chaowei Zhao Weiwei Li Lixin Wu Fenghong Li | 2022 | CCS Chemistry2022,4,3: | 3 |
| 10 | Protective effects of catalpol and rhein in murine experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis via regulation of T helper (Th)1, Th2,Th17, and regulatory T cell responses显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To examine the effects of catalpol and rhein on pro-and anti-inflammatory responses in C57 BL/6 mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE),a model of multiple sclerosis.METHODS:Female C57 BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups(n=30):(a)normal salinecontrol,(b)EAE control,(c)EAE+prednisone acetate(PA,6 mg/kg),and(d)EAE+catalpol(40 mg/kg)and rhein(5 mg/kg).EAE was induced by injection of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein 35-55 plus pertussis toxin.Treatments were orally administered daily for 40 d.Disease progression and neurological function were assessed using a semi-quantitative scale of tail and limb paralysis.Brains and spinal cords were collected on Days 6,20,and 40 and assessed for histopathological changes by hematoxylin and eosin staining.Production of interleukin(IL)-2,IL-4,IL-10,and IL-17 A protein was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Expression of the T helper(Th)1-,Th2-,Th17-,and regulatory T cell(Treg)-specific transcription factors T-bet,GATA3,ROR-γt,and Foxp3,respectively,were analyzed by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis.RESULTS:Combination treatment with catalpol and rhein significantly alleviated the clinical disability and neurological dysfunction of mice with EAE.Catalpol and rhein treatment also reduced the infiltration of pro-inflammatory T cells into pathological lesions;significantly increased the expression of the anti-inflammatory factors GATA3,Foxp3,IL-4,and IL-10;and significantly decreased the expression of the pro-inflammatory factors T-bet,ROR-γt,IL-2,and IL-17 A.CONCLUSION:Catalpol and rhein reduced the neurological disabilities of mice with EAE,at least in part by rebalancing the pro-and anti-inflammatory environment in the brains and spinal cords. | Wei Mingyan Yang Tao Li Qian Zhou Dongdong Du Zongpan Fan Yongping | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6: | 3 |

| 18 | Spatiotemporal variations of carbon flux and nitrogen deposition flux linked with climate change at the centennial scale in China显示文摘The spatial and temporal variations of the vegetation carbon flux in China from 1901 to 2005 were studied using the vegetation net primary production(NPP)values from seven Earth-system models.In addition,the temporal and spatial changes in the nitrogen deposition flux in China were studied using the NHx and NOy fluxes from 1901 to 2005.The relationship between changes in the carbon flux,nitrogen flux and climate was analyzed.The results show that(1)over the past 100 years,NPP in China has shown an upward trend.The average trend coefficient is 0.88 and the NPP distribution trend is generally low in the north and high in the south,with a gradual increase from the northwest to the southeast.Temperature,precipitation and radiation are all conducive to plant growth in the direction of the gradient.The correlation coefficients between the ensemble model mean NPP and temperature,precipitation,longwave radiation and shortwave radiation are 0.88,0.73,0.91 and 0.67,respectively.(2)In the past 100 years,the NHx and NOy fluxes in China have shown an upward trend,with trend coefficients of 0.98 and 0.98,respectively,which pass the 99.9%confidence level of the t-test.NHx and NOy fluxes are also generally low in the north and high in the south,with a gradual increase from the northwest to the southeast in a step-like pattern.(3)The spatial distribution of the correlation coefficients between the NHx and NOy fluxes and air temperature is similar,with only slight differences in values.The spatial distribution of the correlation coefficients between the NHx and NOy fluxes and precipitation is similar in overall pattern,but the pattern is relatively complicated,with a positive-negative-positive-negative-positive pattern occurring across the monsoon region from north to south,and a negative-positive-negative-positive pattern occurring beyond the monsoon region from east to west.(4)The spatial distribution of the correlation coefficients between the NHx and NOy fluxes and NPP shows a generally consistent pattern,but the pattern is relatively uneven.The average distribution of the ensemble model mean is positive correlation in northeast China and southwest China,and alternating positive and negative correlation in other regions. | Dongdong GAO Li DAN Guangzhou FAN Hanqin TIAN Jing PENG Xiujing YANG Fuqiang YANG Yueyue LI | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,5: | 1 |
