Trend of declining stroke mortality in China:reasons and analysis显示文摘Introduction There is a downward trend of stroke-related mortality in the USA.By reviewing all published articles on stroke mortality in China,we analysed its trend and possible factors that have influenced the trend. Methods Both English and Chinese literatures were searched on the mortality of stroke or cerebrovascular diseases in China.Potential papers related to this topic were identified from PubMed,Medline,Embase,Cochrane Library,Wanfang Database,SINOMED and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. Results Comparing the results from the most recent population-based epidemiological survey and databank from the national Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the age-adjusted stroke mortality rate has shown a downward trend among both urban and rural population in the past 30 years in China.Comparing with 30 years ago,the rate of stroke mortality has decreased by more than 31%in urban/suburban population and 11%in rural population. In men,the age-adjusted stroke mortality rate decreased by 18.9%and in women by 24.9%between 1994 and 2013.Factors that may have contributed to the trend of decreased stroke mortality rate include(1)improved healthcare coverage and healthcare environment;(2)improved treatment options and medical technology;(3)support by government to educate the public on stroke and stroke prevention;and(4)improved public knowledge on stroke. Conclusions The age-adjusted stroke mortality rate in China has shown a downward trend among both urban and rural population in the past 30 years. The major influencing factors that helped in reducing stroke mortality in China included improved healthcare coverage, healthcare environment, the updated treatment options and modern medical technology. | Wenzhi Wang David Wang Hongmei Liu Haixin Sun Bin Jiang Xiaojuan Ru Dongling Sun Zhenghong Chen Yongjun Wang | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,3: | 52
Genetic diversity of rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L.) in China and the temporal trends in recent fifty years显示文摘To understand geographical distribution of the genetic diversity of rice cultivars {Oryza sativa L.) and its trends in recent fifty years in China, 453 ’ accessions were analyzed by 36 microsatellites loci and 42 phenotypic traits. Results revealed that the genetic diversity by SSRs is highly consistent with that by phenotypic traits and the genetic diversity of indica cultivars was higher than that of japonica cultivars; the genetic diversity of cultivars declined from 1950s to 1980s and then increased greatly; among the six rice ecological zones (REZs), genetic diversity of REZTl was the highest and those of REZV and REZVT were the lowest at both DNA and phenotypic level. Jiangsu and Jiangxi provinces in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River and Sichuan province in southwest of China were the areas with the highest genetic diversity. Breeders in REZV which is an important japonica rice area but with very low genetic diversity should explore more gene resources to widen the genetic backgrounds of cultivars. | QI Yonawen ZHANG Dongling ZHANG Hongliang WANG Meixing SUN Junli WEI Xinghua QIU Zongen TANG Shengxiang CAO Yongsheng WANG Xiangkun LI Zichao | 2006 | Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,6: | 27

Chinese Stroke Association guidelines for clinical management of cerebrovascular disorders:executive summary and 2019 update of the management of high-risk population显示文摘Aim Cerebrovascular disease is the leading cause of death and disability in China, causing a huge burden among patients and their families.Hence, stroke prevention is critical, especially in the high-risk population. Here,we present the evidence-based guideline suitable for the Chinese population. Methods Literature search of PubMed and Cochrane library(from January 1964 to June 2019)was done. After thorough discussion among the writing group members, recommendations were listed and summarised. This guideline was reviewed and discussed by the fellow writing committees of the Chinese Stroke Association’s Stroke. Results This evidence-based guideline was written in three parts:controlling the risk factors of stroke, utilisation of antiplatelet agents and assessing the risks of first-ever stroke. All recommendations were listed along with the recommending classes and levels of evidence. Conclusions This guideline provides recommendations for primary prevention of cerebrovascular disease among high-risk population in China.Controlling related risk factors, appropriately using antiplatelet agents, assessing the risk of developing first-ever stroke should help reduce the rate of cerebrovascular disease in China. | Yilong Wang Shangrong Han Haiqiang Qin Huaguang Zheng Bin Jiang Yong Cao Yuan Gao Ling Guan Qian Jia Yong Jiang Yuming Jiao Shuya Li Yapeng Li Zixiao Li Wei Liu Xiaojuan Ru Dongling Sun Haixin Sun Penglian Wang Tingting Wang Lixia Zong Lei Guo Xuewei Xie Yuming Xu Yuyuan Xu Xiaomeng Yang Yingying Yang Mengyuan Zhou Wenzhi Wang Chinese Stroke Association Stroke Council Guideline Writing Committee | 2020 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2020,5,3: | 11
Geographical genetic diversity and divergence of common wild rice (O. rufipogon Griff.) in China显示文摘Using 36 SSR markers and 889 accessions of common wild rice in China, the genetic diversity and the divergence among different geographical populations are investigated. Guangdong Province has the largest number of alleles, which account for 84% of the total alleles detected in the study, followed by Guangxi Province. The Nei's gene diversity indices, from high to low, are in the sequence of Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Yunnan provinces. Two genetic diversity centers of Chinese common wild rice are detected on the basis of geographic analysis, i.e., the region covering Boluo, Zijin, Lufeng, Haifeng, Huidong and Huiyang counties of Guangdong Province and the region covering Yongning, Longan, Laibin and Guigang counties of Guangxi Province. The common wild rice in Yunnan, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Fujian provinces are diverged into respectively independent populations with relatively large genetic distances, whereas, those in Hainan, Guangdong and Guangxi provinces have relatively low genetic divergence. Under the condition of geographic separation, natural selection is considered as one of the primary forces contributing to the divergence of common wild rice in China. | WANG MeiXing ZHANG HongLiang ZHANG DongLing PAN DaJian LI DaoYuan FAN ZhiLan QI YongWen SUN JunLi YANG QingWen LI Chen LI ZiChao | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,22: | 8
Assessing indica-japonica differentiation of improved rice varieties using microsatellite markers显示文摘To assess the indica-japonica differentiation of improved rice varieties, a total of 512 modern varieties including 301 indica and 211 japonica accessions were analyzed using 36 microsatellites. The Fst coefficients ranged from 0.002 to 0.730 among the loci with an average of 0.315. Significant differentiation was detected at 94.4% of the loci studied (P<0.05, pairwise Fst tests), indicating that there was a high level of indica-japonica differentiation within the improved varieties. At 18 loci, about 74%-98% of the alleles of indica and japonica accessions were distributed in two ranges of amplicon length. Linkage disequilibrium analysis showed that the distribution trends were significantly nonrandomly associated. Using the differentiation trends at the 18 loci, microsatellite index (MI) was proposed for discrimination of the two subspecies. When rice accessions with MI value greater than zero were classified as indica, and those with MI value smaller than zero were classified as japonica, about 96.1% of the accessions could be classified. This result agrees with the classification based on morphological-physiological characters, indicating that this method is feasible and effective. | Yongwen Qi Hongliang Zhang Dongling Zhang Meixing Wang Junli Sun Li Ding Fenghua Wang Zichao Li | 2009 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2009,36,5: | 5
Genetic structure and diversity of Oryza sativa L. in Guizhou,China显示文摘Preserving many kinds of rice resources and rich variations, Guizhou Province is one of the districts with the highest genetic diversity of cultivated rice (Oryza sativa L.) in China. In the current research, genetic diversity and structure of 537 accessions of cultivated rice from Guizhou were studied using 36 microsatellite markers and 39 phenotypic characters. The results showed that the model-based genetic structure was the same as genetic-distance-based one using SSRs but somewhat different from the documented classification (mainly based on phenotype) of two subspecies. The accessions being classified into indica by phenotype but japonica by genetic structure were much more than that being classified into japonica by phenotype but indica by genetic structure. Like Ding Ying’s taxonomic sys- tem of cultivated rice, the subspecific differentiation was the most distinct differentiation within culti- vated rice. But the differentiation within indica or japonica population was different: japonica presented clearer differentiation between soil-watery ecotypes than indica, and indica presented clearer differen- tiation between seasonal ecotypes than japonica. Cultivated rices in Guizhou revealed high genetic diversity at both DNA and phenotypic levels. Possessing the highest genetic diversity and all the nec- essary conditions as a center of genetic diversity, region Southwestern of Guizhou was suggested as the center of genetic diversity of O. sativa L. from Guizhou. | ZHANG DongLing ZHANG HongLiang WEI XingHua QI YongWen WANG Meixing SUN JunLi DING Li TANG ShengXiang QIU Zong'En CAO YongSheng WANG XiangKun LI ZiChao | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,3: | 5

Genetic structure and eco-geographical differentiation of cultivated Hsien rice(Oryza sativa L.subsp.indica) in China revealed by microsatellites显示文摘Indica is not only an important rice subspecies widely planted in Asia and the rest of the world, but it is also the genetic background of the majority of hybrid varieties in China.Studies on genetic structure and genetic diversity in indica germplasm resources are important for the classification and utilization of cultivated rice in China.Using a genetically representative core collection comprising 1482 Chinese indica landraces,we analysed the genetic structure, geographic differentiation and diversity.Model-based structure analysis of varieties within three ecotypes revealed nine eco-geographical types partially accordant with certain ecological zones in China.Differentiation of eco-geographical types was attributed to local ecological adaption and physical isolation. These groups may be useful for developing heterotic groups of indica. To facilitate the identification of different ecotypes and eco-geographical types,we identified characteristic SSR alleles of each ecotype and eco-geographical type and a rapid index of discrimination based on characteristic alleles. The characteristic alleles and rapid discrimination index may guide development of heterotic groups, and selection of hybrid parents. | ZHANG DongLing ZHANG HongLiang QI YongWen WANG MeiXing SUN JunLi DING Li LI ZiChao | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,3: | 3
Earth-abundant coal-derived carbon nanotube/carbon composites as efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts for rechargeable zinc-air batteries显示文摘The exploration of active and robust electrocatalysts for both the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the bottleneck to realize the commercialization of rechargeable metal-air batteries and regenerative fuel cells. Here we report facile synthesis of three-dimensional(3 D)carbon nanotube(CNT)/carbon composites using earth-abundant coal as the carbon source, hydrogen reductant and heteroatom dopant to grow CNTs.The prepared composite featuring 3 D structural merits and multiple active sites can efficiently catalyze both ORR and OER,affording high activity, fast kinetics, and long-term stability. With the additional incorporation of manganese, the developed catalyst afforded a potential difference of 0.80 V between ORR at the half wave potential and OER at a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2).The optimized sample has presented excellent OER performance within a constructed solar-powered water splitting system with continuously generating oxygen bubbles at anode.Notably,it can be further used as a durable air-electrode catalyst in constructed Zn-air battery, delivering an initial discharge/charge voltage gap of 0.73 V,a remained voltaic efficiency of 61.2%after 160 cycles and capability to power LED light for at least 80 h.This study provides an efficient approach for converting traditional energy resource i.e.coal to value-added alternative oxygen electrocatalysts in renewable energy conversion systems. | Zhenjie Lu Songdong Yao Yanzeng Dong Dongling Wu Haoran Pan Xinning Huang Tao Wang Zhenyu Sun Xingxing Chen | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5: | 1

Translocation and Distribution of Carbon-Nitrogen in Relation to Rice Yield and Grain Quality as Affected by High Temperature at Early Panicle Initiation Stage显示文摘Due to climate change, extreme heat stress events have become more frequent, adversely affecting rice yield and grain quality. The accumulation and translocation of dry matter and nitrogen substances are essential for rice yield and grain quality. To assess the impact of high temperature stress(HTS) at the early panicle initiation(EPI) stage on the accumulation, transportation, and distribution of dry matter and nitrogen substances in various organs of rice, as well as the resulting effects on rice yield and grain quality, pot experiments were conducted using an indica rice cultivar Yangdao 6(YD6) and a japonica rice cultivar Jinxiangyu 1(JXY1) under both normal temperature(32 ℃/26 ℃) and high temperature(38 ℃/29 ℃) conditions. The results indicated that exposure to HTS at the EPI stage significantly decreased rice yield by reducing spikelet number per panicle, grain-filling rate, and grain weight. However, it improved the nutritional quality of rice grains by increasing protein and amylose contents. The reduction in nitrogen and dry matter accumulation accounted for the changes in spikelet number per panicle, grain-filling rate, and grain size. Under HTS, the decrease in nitrogen accumulation accompanied by the reduction in dry matter may be due to the down-regulation of leaf net photosynthesis and senescence, as evidenced by the decrease in nitrogen content. Furthermore, the decrease in sink size limited the translocation of dry matter and nitrogen substances to grains, which was closely related to the reduction in grain weight and the deterioration of grain quality. These findings significantly contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms of HTS on grain yield and quality formation from the perspective of dry matter and nitrogen accumulation and translocation. Further efforts are needed to improve the adaptability of rice varieties to climate change in the near future. | JI Dongling XIAO Wenhui SUN Zhiwei LIU Lijun GU Junfei ZHANG Hao Matthew Tom HARRISON LIU Ke WANG Zhiqin WANG Weilu YANG Jianchang | 2023 | Rice science2023,30,6: | 0
