| 1 | Circulating tumor cells:biology and clinical significance显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are tumor cells that have sloughed off the primary tumor and extravasate into and circulate in the blood.Understanding of the metastatic cascade of CTCs has tremendous potential for the identification of targets against cancer metastasis.Detecting these very rare CTCs among the massive blood cells is challenging.However,emerging technologies for CTCs detection have profoundly contributed to deepening investigation into the biology of CTCs and have facilitated their clinical application.Current technologies for the detection of CTCs are summarized herein,together with their advantages and disadvantages.The detection of CTCs is usually dependent on molecular markers,with the epithelial cell adhesion molecule being the most widely used,although molecular markers vary between different types of cancer.Properties associated with epithelial-tomesenchymal transition and stemness have been identified in CTCs,indicating their increased metastatic capacity.Only a small proportion of CTCs can survive and eventually initiate metastases,suggesting that an interaction and modulation between CTCs and the hostile blood microenvironment is essential for CTC metastasis.Single-cell sequencing of CTCs has been extensively investigated,and has enabled researchers to reveal the genome and transcriptome of CTCs.Herein,we also review the clinical applications of CTCs,especially for monitoring response to cancer treatment and in evaluating prognosis.Hence,CTCs have and will continue to contribute to providing significant insights into metastatic processes and will open new avenues for useful clinical applications. | Danfeng Lin Lesang Shen Meng Luo Kun Zhang Jinfan Li Qi Yang Fangfang Zhu Dan Zhou Shu Zheng Yiding Chen Jiaojiao Zhou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,12: | 8 |

| 3 | Neurotoxicity mechanism of aconitine in HT22 cells studied by microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry显示文摘Aconitine,a common and main toxic component of Aconitum,is toxic to the central nervous system.However,the mechanism of aconitine neurotoxicity is not yet clear.In this work,we had the hypothesis that excitatory amino acids can trigger excitotoxicity as a pointcut to explore the mechanism of neurotoxicity induced by aconitine.HT22 cells were simulated by aconitine and the changes of target cell metabolites were real-time online investigated based on a microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry system.Meanwhile,to confirm the metabolic mechanism of aconitine toxicity on HT22 cells,the levels of lactate dehydrogenase,intracellular Ca^(2+),reactive oxygen species,glutathione and superoxide dismutase,and ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 protein were detected by molecular biotechnology.Integration of the detected results revealed that neurotoxicity induced by aconitine was associated with the process of excitotoxicity caused by glutamic acid and aspartic acid,which was followed by the accumulation of lactic acid and reduction of glucose.The surge of extracellular glutamic acid could further lead to a series of cascade reactions including intracellular Ca^(2+)overload and oxidative stress,and eventually result in cell apoptosis.In general,we illustrated a new mechanism of aconitine neurotoxicity and presented a novel analysis strategy that real-time online monitoring of cell metabolites can provide a new approach to mechanism analysis. | Yingrui Zhang Shiyu Chen Fangfang Fan Ning Xu Xian-Li Meng Yi Zhang Jin-Ming Lin | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Fruit size control by a zinc finger protein regulating pericarp cell size in tomato显示文摘Fruit size is largely defined by the number and size of cells in the fruit.Endoreduplication–a specialized cell cycle–is highly associated with cell expansion during tomato fruit growth.However,how endoreduplication coupled with cell size is regulated remains poorly understood.In this study,we identified a zinc finger gene SlPZF1(Solanum lycopersicum PERICARP-ASSOCIATED ZINC FINGER PROTEIN 1)that was highly expressed in the pericarp of developing fruits.Plants with altered SlPZF1 expression produced smaller fruits due to the reduction in cell size associated with weakened endoreduplication.Overexpressing SlPZF1 delayed cell division phase by enhancing early expression of several key cell cycle regulators including SlCYCD3;1 and two plant specific mitotic cyclin-dependent protein kinase(SlCDKB1 and SlCDKB2)in the pericarp tissue.Furthermore,we identified 14 putative SlPZF1 interacting proteins(PZFIs)via yeast two hybrid screening.Several PZFIs,including Pre-mRNA-splicing factor(SlSMP1/PZFI4),PAPA-1-like conserved region family protein(PZFI6),Fanconi anemia complex components(PZFI3 and PZFI10)and bHLH transcription factor LONESOME HIGHWAY(SILHW/PZFI14),are putatively involved in cell cycle regulation.Our results demonstrate that fruit growth in tomato requires balanced expression of the novel cell size regulator SlPZF1. | Fangfang Zhao Jiajing Zhang Lin Weng Meng Li Quanhua Wang Han Xiao | 2021 | Molecular Horticulture2021,1,1: | 1 |

| 14 | High Fe^(LS)(C)electrochemical activity of an iron hexacyanoferrate cathode boosts superior sodium ion storage显示文摘Sodium iron hexacyanoferrate(FeHCF)is one of the most promising cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to its low cost theoretical capacity.However,the low electrochemical activity of Fe^(LS)(C)in FeHCF drags down its practical capacity and potential plateau.Herein,FeHCF with high Fe^(LS)(C)electrochemical activity(C-FeHCF)is synthesized via a facile citric acid-assisted solvothermal method.As the cathode of SIBs,C-FeHCF shows superior cycling stability(ca.87.3%capacity retention for 1000 cycles at 10 C)and outstanding rate performance(ca.68.5%capacity retention at 50 C).Importantly,the contribution of Fe^(LS)(C)to the whole capacity was quantitatively analyzed via combining dQ/dV and discharge curve for the first time,and the index reaches 44.53%for C-FeHCF,close to the theoretical value.In-situ X-ray diffraction proves the structure stability of C-FeHCF during charge-discharge process,ensuring its superior cycling performance.Furthermore,the application feasibility of the C-FeHCF cathode in quasi-solid SIBs is also evaluated.The quasi-solid SIBs with the C-FeHCF cathode exhibit excellent electrochemical performance,delivering an initial discharge capacity of 106.5 mAh g^(−1) at 5 C and high capacity retention of 89.8%over 1200 cycles.This work opens new insights into the design and development of advanced cathode materials for SIBs and the beyond. | Junhong Guo Fan Feng Shiqiang Zhao Zhenhai Shi Rui Wang Meng Yang Fangfang Chen Suli Chen Zi-Feng Ma Tianxi Liu | 2023 | Carbon Energy2023,5,5: | 1 |

Methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, cyclohydrolase, and formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase 1 (MTHFD1) polymorphisms have important roles in neurodevelopment. However, the association ofMTHFD1 polymorphisms with children’s intelligence changes in endemic fluorosis areas has been rarely explored.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in four randomly selected primary schools in Tongxu County, Henan Province, from April to May in 2017. A total of 694 children aged 8 to 12 years were included in the study with the recruitment by the cluster sampling method. Urinary fluoride (UF) and urinary creatinine were separately determined using the fluoride ion-selective electrode and creatinine assay kit. Children were classified as the high fluoride group and control group according to the median of urinary creatinine-adjusted urinary fluoride (UFCr) level. Four loci ofMTHFD1 were genotyped, and the Combined Raven’s Test was used to evaluate children’s intelligence quotient (IQ). Generalized linear model and multinomial logistic regression model were performed to analyze the associations between children’s UFCr level,MTHFD1 polymorphisms, and intelligence. The general linear model was used to explore the effects of gene-environment and gene-gene interaction on intelligence.Results: In the high fluoride group, children’s IQ scores decreased by 2.502 when the UFCr level increased by 1.0 mg/L (β= –2.502, 95% confidence interval [CI]: –4.411, –0.593), and the possibility for having 'excellent' intelligence decreased by 46.3% (odds ratio = 0.537, 95% CI: 0.290, 0.994). Children with the GG genotype showed increased IQ scores than those with the AA genotype of rs11627387 locus in the high fluoride group (P < 0.05).
