1Understanding the spatial representativeness of air quality monitoring network and its application to PM_(2.5)in the China's Mainland显示文摘Air pollution has seriously endangered human health and the natural ecosystem during the last decades.Air quality monitoring stations(AQMS)have played a critical role in providing valuable data sets for recording regional air pollutants.The spatial representativeness of AQMS is a critical parameter when choosing the location of stations and assessing effects on the population to long-term exposure to air pollution.In this paper,we proposed a methodological framework for assessing the spatial representativeness of the regional air quality monitoring network and applied it to ground-based PM_(2.5)observation in the mainland of China.Weighted multidimensional Euclidean distance between each pixel and the stations was used to determine the representativeness of the existing monitoring network.In addition,the K-means clustering method was adopted to improve the spatial representativeness of the existing AQMS.The results showed that there were obvious differences among the representative area of 1820 stations in the mainland of China.The monitoring stations could well represent the PM_(2.5)spatial distribution of the entire region,and the effectively represented area(i.e.the area where the Euclidean distance between the pixels and the stations was lower than the average value)accounted for 67.32%of the total area and covered 93.12%of the population.Forty additional stations were identified in the Northwest,North China,and Northeast regions,which could improve the spatial representativeness by 14.31%.Ling Su Chanchan Gao Xiaoli Ren Fengying Zhang Shanshan Cao Shiqing Zhang Tida Chen Mengqing Liu Bingchuan Ni Min Liu 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3:3
2Numerical Study on Seasonal Transportation of the Suspended Sediments in the Modern Yellow River Mouth Effected by the Artificial Water and Sediment Regulation显示文摘Since 2002, an artificial water and sediment regulation(AWSR) has been carried out, which largely reduced water and sediment discharged from the Yellow River into the Bohai Sea. Although the sediment transport in the Yellow River Mouth(YRM) has been observed and modeled intensively since AWSR, but preferentially for the non-storm conditions. In this study, a three-dimensional current-wave-sediment coupled model, DHI-MIKE numerical model, was used to examine the seasonal suspended-sediment transport in the YRM after the AWSR. Results show that the seasonal distribution of suspended-sediments in the YRM is dominated by wind and wave rather than river input. The major transport pathway of suspended-sediments is from the western Laizhou Bay to the Bohai Strait during the winter monsoon, especially in storm events. In addition, about 66% of the river sediments deposit within 30 km of the YRM, which is smaller than previous estimations. 3High wave transmittance and low thermal conductivity Y-a-SiAlON porous ceramics for high-temperature radome applications显示文摘With the development of hypersonic vehicle technology,ceramic-based radome materials are highly demanded due to their high operating temperatures,good dielectric properties,and high mechanical properties.Althoughα-SiAlON is an ideal material for radome applications,its intrinsic low transmittance and high thermal conductivity limit its applications.Herein,we prepared Y-α-SiAlON porous ceramics through tert-butanol(TBA)gel-casting using the self-synthesizedα-SiAlON powder.The Y-α-SiAlON porous ceramics exhibited a uniform micron-level connected pore structure with the porosity(P)of 44.2%-58.6%.The real part of permittivity(s')was 3.13-4.18(8.2-12.4 GHz),which decreased significantly with the increasing porosity.The wave transmittance(|T|^(2))of the sample with porosity of 58.6%could exceed 80%in the thickness range of 6-10 mm.The thermal conductivity was maintained at a low level of 1.38-2.25 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1) owing to the introduction of the pore structure.The flexural strength was 44.73-88.33 MPa,which may be increased by rod-likeα-SiAlON grains.The results indicate that the prepared Y-α-SiAlON porous ceramics meet the requirements of high-temperature wave-transmitting materials for radome applications.Runwu Yang Jie Xu Jia Guo Xuanyu Meng Ping Zhang Fengying Fan Yanan Qu Feng Gao 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,6:1

5Tailoring grain morphology in Ti-6Al-3Mo through heterogeneous nucleation in directed energy deposition显示文摘A common challenge in direct energy deposition(DED)is eliminating the anisotropy in mechanical performance associated with microstructure and the formation of coarse columnar grains.In this work,a heterogeneous nucleation mechanism was introduced into the melt pool,and,from this mechanism,an almost fully equiaxed grain morphology was obtained in the DED of Ti-6 Al-3 Mo.Three types of grain morphologies in DED Ti-6 Al-3 Mo,including full columnar grains,near-equiaxed grains and almost fully equiaxed grains were obtained from premixed and satellite powder blends from Ti,6 wt.%Al and 3 wt.%Mo,respectively.Combined with the analysis of the interactions between powder particles and the melt pool in DED,the formation mechanism of the equiaxed grains caused by the incomplete melting of high melting point Mo particles was revealed.As the prior-βgrains transformed from coarse columnar grains to fine-equiaxed grains,the strong<100>fiber texture along the deposition direction was weakened,while the size of theα-laths in the prior-βgrains slightly decreased,and the selection ofα-variants was weakened.Due to the transformation of the prior-βgrains from coarse columnar grains to fine-equiaxed grains,the tensile strength of the deposited samples increased from 982 MPa to 1082 MPa,while the yield strength increased from 840 MPa to 922 MPa,and the elongation of the as-deposited alloy also increased from 9.0%to 9.8%,which confirmed that the presence of fine-equiaxed grains is beneficial to the strength and plasticity of the DED alloy.This work further demonstrates the role that satelliting powders can play in terms of enhancing the columnar to equiaxed transition(CET)behavior associated with DED.Fengying Zhang Panpan Gao Hua Tan Yao Li Yongnan Chen Min Mei Adam T.Clare Lai-Chang Zhang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,29:1
6The study of selective primary culture and determination of a breast cancer cell line in vitro显示文摘Objective The successful establishment of a tumor cell bank is based on the premise that the target cells can be cultured by a legitimate approach.In this experiment,we used primary culture to select and detect breast cancer cells in vitro,which can provide experimental ideas and methods for the establishment of a living tumor tissue cell bank.Methods Fifty-two specimens were collected over a two-year period from people with breast cancer who needed surgical treatment in our hospital.Cells were isolated and used to establish successful cell culture.Cell activity and cell purity were measured before liquid nitrogen cryopreservation.Results(1)At the initial culture stage,cells grew with adherence.Cell multiplication could be seen after the cell medium was exchanged three times.Cell viability was above 86%,while the viability of the target cells was above 75%,as detected by hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining.(2)The number of breast cancer cells decreased,while the number of fibroblasts increased after five rounds of passage.(3)The success rate was 73.08%,which did not include polluted cells and those that were not successfully cryopreserved.Conclusion(1)breast cancer cells could be selected from primary culture in vitro through an appropriate method.(2)Exchange of the cell medium and further cell passage improved cell multiplication.(3)The experimental results could be monitored using trypan blue and HE staining.(4)The success of breast cancer cell culture in vitro could be used as a reference for other cell culture,so as to establish a tumor tissue cell bank.Meng Ren Huixia Xu Xiangji Lu Bingping Wang Rina Su Hao Zhang Song Jiang Fengying Gao Yanwei Gao 2020Oncology and Translational Medicine2020,6,2:1

10Legumain-induced intracerebrally crosslinked vesicles for suppressing efflux transport of Alzheimer’s disease multi-drug nanosystem显示文摘Brain barrier is both a protective permeability hurdle and a limitation site where therapeutic agents are excluded to enter the target region.Designing drug vehicle to overcome this notorious barrier bottle is challenging.Herein,we construct a stimuli-responsive self-assembled nanovesicle that delivers water-soluble drugs to prevent the efflux transport of brain barriers by responding to the endogenously occurring signals in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)brain microenvironment.Once stimuli-responsive vesicles are accumulated in intracerebrally,the intrinsically occurring legumain endopeptidase cleaves the Ac-Ala-Ala-Asn-Cys-Asp(AK)short peptide on the drug vesicles to expose the 1,2 thiol amino group to cyclize with the cyano groups on 2-cyano-6-aminobenzothiazole(CABT)of the chaperone vesicles,thus triggering the formation of cross-linked micrometre-scale vesicles.Such a structural alteration completely prevents further brain barriers efflux.The superior neuroprotective capacity of cross-linked vesicles is validated in senescence accelerated mouse prone 8(SAMP8).This smart multi-drug delivery vesicle is promising to serve as a powerful system for AD treatment and can be adapted for the therapy of other central nervous system(CNS)disorders.Fuxin Jiang Jian Ren Yachai Gao Jinna Wang Yiping Zhao Fengying Dai 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,6:0
11The Properties of the Sintered Copper Powder Liner显示文摘In order to study the properties of sintered copper powder shaped charge liner, the copper powder, whose particle size was below 20 μm, was chosen as the main material. The mixed powders were directly pressed into the desired shape of the shaped charge liner by the top direct-pressure way. The microscopic morphology of the spinning shaped charge liner, the sintered and non-sintered powder liners, and the particle properties of the copper powder were studied with scanning electron microscopy. The experimental results showed that the irregular copper powder could get together effectively and sintering could improve the compactness of the powder liner effectively. The wall thickness and density of the non-sintered and sintered liner were also tested, and it shows that sintering causes the wall thickness thinned and the density improved. 12A reference-guided TILLING by amplicon-sequencing platform supports forward and reverse genetics in barley显示文摘Barley is a diploid species with a genome smaller than those of other members of the Triticeae tribe,making it an attractive model for genetic studies in Triticeae crops.The recent development of barley genomics has created a need for a high-throughput platform to identify genetically uniform mutants for gene function investigations.In this study,we report an ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)-mutagenized population consisting of 8525M_(3) lines in the barley landrace“Hatiexi”(HTX),which we complement with a high-quality de novo assembly of a reference genome for this genotype.The mutation rate within the population ranged from 1.51 to 4.09 mutations per megabase,depending on the treatment dosage of EMS and the mutation discrimination platform used for genotype analysis.We implemented a three-dimensional DNA pooling strategy combined with multiplexed amplicon sequencing to create a highly efficient and cost-effective TILLING(targeting induced locus lesion in genomes)platform in barley.Mutations were successfully identified from 72 mixed amplicons within a DNA pool containing 64 individual mutants and from 56 mixed amplicons within a pool containing 144 individuals.We discovered abundant allelic mutants for dozens of genes,including the barley Green Revolution contributor gene Brassinosteroid insensitive 1(BRI1).As a proof of concept,we rapidly determined the causal gene responsible for a chlorotic mutant by following the MutMap strategy,demonstrating the value of this resource to support forward and reverse genetic studies in barley.Congcong Jiang Miaomiao Lei Yu Guo Guangqi Gao Lijie Shi Yanlong Jin Yu Cai Axel Himmelbach Shenghui Zhou Qiang He Xuefeng Yao Jinhong Kan Georg Haberer Fengying Duan Lihui Li Jun Liu Jing Zhang Manuel Spannagl Chunming Liu Nils Stein Zongyun Feng Martin Mascher Ping Yang 2022Plant Communications2022,3,4:0
13Pseudo-crown ether having AIE and PET effects from a TPE-CD conjugate for highly selective detection of mercury ions显示文摘A new tetraphenylethylene-cyclodextrin (TPE-CD) conjugate with a linkage composed of long triethylene glycol chain and triazole ring on the CD rim has been designed and synthesized. The TPE-CD conjugate exists in a stretched form in DMSO and enhances its fluorescence after addition of a small amount of water due to aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect. However, in the presence of a large amount of water, the TPE unit will enter the cyclodextrin cavity to form a folded self-inclusion compound. In the self-inclusion compound, not only nitrogen-containing pseudo-crown ether is formed but also arouses photo-induced electron transfer (PET) process from nitrogen atoms of triazole ring to TPE unit and quenches the fluorescence although more aggregation occurs in more water. This is the first finding that TPE-macrocycle conjugate can form pseudo-crown ether and has both the AIE phenomenon and the PET effect. Interestingly, only mercury ion arouses the fluorescence recover of the self-inclusion compound by entering the pseudo-crown ether cavity and blocking the PET process by binding to the nitrogen atoms, while other tested metal ions almost have no effect on the fluorescence. 14Effect of Microstructural Characteristics on Fracture Toughness in Direct Energy Deposited Novel Ti-6Al-4V-1Mo Alloy显示文摘Meeting the damage tolerance requirements for engineering-grade titanium alloys pose a significant challenge in achieving high fracture toughness in direct energy deposition(DED)titanium alloys.This work primarily investigated the relationship between the microstructure and the fracture toughness of DED new Ti-6Al-4V-1Mo alloy.Two types of microstructures were designed via two process strategies:high-line energy density(HE)and low-line energy density(LE).Relative to LE samples,HE samples possess larger-sized microstructural characteristics(coarser grain boundaryα(α_(GB)),largerαcolonies,and coarserαlaths).Lessα/βphase boundaries were formed by coarserαlaths in the HE samples,increasing the movement of dislocations,resulting in tensile strength decreasing from 1007.1 MPa(LE)to 930.8 MPa(HE)and elongation increasing from 10.8%(LE)to 15.7%(HE).Also,HE samples exhibited an excellent fracture toughness of 114.0 MPa m^(1/2),significantly higher than that of LE samples(76.8 MPa m^(1/2)).An analysis of crack propagation paths was conducted to investigate the factors contributing to toughening.The primary factor enhancing toughness is the frequent obstruction of cracks by coarseαGB and largeαcolonies in HE samples.Particularly,the pretty large-angle deflections induced by the superposition effect of coarseαGB and largeαcolonies play a vital of significant role.These factors induced the long and tortuous high-energy pathways,which resulted in ultimately improved fracture toughness.The discovered microstructural toughening mechanisms can serve as a reference for future studies involving titanium alloys,offering insights on how to enhance fracture toughness by achieving similar characteristics.Chao Xia Kexin Zhao Xin Zhou Yuqi He Panpan Gao Hengxin Zhang Guangrui Gao Fengying Zhang Hua Tan 2024Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2024,37,1:0
15Engineering Strategies for Suppressing the Shuttle Effect in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries显示文摘Lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries are supposed to be one of the most potential next-generation batteries owing to their high theoretical capacity and low cost.Nevertheless,the shuttle effect of firm multi-step two-electron reaction between sulfur and lithium in liquid electrolyte makes the capacity much smaller than the theoretical value.Many methods were proposed for inhibiting the shuttle effect of polysulfide,improving corresponding redox kinetics and enhancing the integral performance of Li–S batteries.Here,we will comprehensively and systematically summarize the strategies for inhibiting the shuttle effect from all components of Li–S batteries.First,the electrochemical principles/mechanism and origin of the shuttle effect are described in detail.Moreover,the efficient strategies,including boosting the sulfur conversion rate of sulfur,confining sulfur or lithium polysulfides(LPS)within cathode host,confining LPS in the shield layer,and preventing LPS from contacting the anode,will be discussed to suppress the shuttle effect.Then,recent advances in inhibition of shuttle effect in cathode,electrolyte,separator,and anode with the aforementioned strategies have been summarized to direct the further design of efficient materials for Li–S batteries.Finally,we present prospects for inhibition of the LPS shuttle and potential development directions in Li–S batteries.Jiayi Li Li Gao Fengying Pan Cheng Gong Limeng Sun Hong Gao Jinqiang Zhang Yufei Zhao Guoxiu Wang Hao Liu 2024Nano-Micro Letters2024,16,1:0
