1The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 2Magnetic nanoparticles based cancer therapy: current status and applications显示文摘Nanotechnology holds a promising potential for developing biomedical nanoplatforms in cancer therapy. The magnetic nanoparticles, which integrate uniquely appealing features of magnetic manipulation, nanoscale heat generator, localized magnetic field and enzyme-mimics, prompt the development and application of magnetic nanoparticles-based cancer medicine. Considerable success has been achieved in improving the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) sensitivity, and the therapeutic function of the magnetic nanoparticles should be given adequate attention. This work reviews the current status and applications of magnetic nanoparticles based cancer therapy. 3In-plane bistatic backward scattering from seabottom with randomly inhomogeneous sediment and rough interface显示文摘The in-plane bistatic backward scattering caused by seabottom with random inhomogeneities and rough interface is studied. This work combines the ray tube integral method of Ivakin et al. and the complex-ray/steepest descent method of Hines. For a given incident grazing angle, the theoretical expression can easily be used to calculate scattering strength for different backward scattering angles. (This is essential for modeling shallow water reverberation by the normal mode approach.) The model is tested against published scattering measurements. 4Analysis of combustion instability via constant volume combustion in a LOX/RP-1 bipropellant liquid rocket engine显示文摘Turbulent two-phase reacting flow in the chamber of LOX/RP-1 bipropellant liquid rocket engine is numerically investigated in this paper. The predicted pressure and mean axial velocity are qualitatively consistent with the experimental measurements. The self-excited pressure oscillations are obtained without any disturbance introduced through the initial and boundary conditions. It is found that amount of abrupt pressure peaks appear frequently and stochastically in the head regions of the chamber, which are the important sources to drive and strengthen combustion instability. Such abrupt pressures are induced by local constant volume combustion, because local combustible gas mixtures with high temperature are formed and burnt out suddenly due to some fuel droplets reaching their critical state in a rich oxygen surrounding. A third Damkhler number is defined as the ratio of the characteristic time of a chemical reaction to the characteristic time of a pressure wave expansion to measure the relative intensity of acoustic propagation and combustion process in thrusters. The analysis of the third Damkhler number distributions in the whole thrust chamber shows that local constant volume combustion happens in the head regions, while constant pressure combustion presents in the downstream regions. 6Failure behavior of soil-rock mixture slopes based on centrifuge model test显示文摘The stability of soil-rock mixtures(SRMs) that widely distributed in slopes is of significant concern for slope safety evaluation and disaster prevention. The failure behavior of SRM slopes under surface loading conditions was investigated through a series of centrifuge model tests considering various volumetric gravel contents. The displacement field of the slope was determined with image-based displacement system to observe the deformation of the soil and the movement of the block during loading in the tests. The test results showed that the ultimate bearing capacity and the stiffness of SRM slopes increased evidently when the volumetric block content exceeded a threshold value. Moreover, there were more evident slips around the blocks in the SRM slope. The microscopic analysis of the block motion showed that the rotation of the blocks could aggravate the deformation localization to facilitate the development of the slip surface. The high correlation between the rotation of the key blocks and the slope failure indicated that the blocks became the dominant load-bearing medium that influenced the slope failure. The blocks in the sliding body formed a chain to bear the load and change the displacement distribution of the adjacent matrix sand through the block rotation.WANG Teng ZHANG Ga 2019Journal of Mountain Science2019,16,8:3
7EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE MECHANISM OF THE RICHTMYERMESHKOV INSTABILITY AT A GAS-LIQUID INTERFACE显示文摘The mechanism of the Richtmyer-Meshkov instability was experimentally studied in a vertical rectangular shock tube.The velocity of the interface driven by the shock wave was measured by a self-designed measurement system,which consists of semiconductor lasers,signal amplification circuits,digital oscilloscope and computer.Tests were carried out at several shock wave Mach numbers.In addition,the movement of the interface and the variation of the mixed zone width with time were recorded by high-speed photography.The experimental results show that the interface velocity increases with the increase of the Mach number,and the distance of the interface's movement and the width of the mixed zone vary with time in a linear relationship.SHI Hong-hui ZHANG Ga DU Kai JIA Hui-xia 2009Journal of Hydrodynamics2009,21,3:3
8Recent progress on lanthanide complexes/clay minerals hybrid luminescent materials显示文摘The unique luminescent performance of lanthanide complexes/clay minerals hybrid materials has been fascinating many researchers for recent decades.It not only retains the excellent luminescent characteristics of lanthanide complexes but also improves the poor stability of the complexes.In this article,we introduce the luminescence mechanism of lanthanide complexes and point out the necessity of their combination with clay minerals.After the analysis of the structure and interlayer environment differences of 1:1-type and 2:1-type clay minerals,the intercalation methods(covalent grafting and ion exchange)appropriate for different clay minerals are summarized with examples.Based on the luminescence characteristics of the hybrid materials,the applications of these materials as luminescent probes in recognition of specific metal cations and molecules,detection of pH value,and temperature are reviewed.Finally,the current problems in the preparation of lanthanide complexes/clay minerals hybrid luminescent materials and shortcomings that need improvement in their performance are analyzed,and the application prospect is forecast.Ga Zhang Lefu Mei Junjie Ding Ke Su Qingfeng Guo Guocheng Lv Libing Liao 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,9:2
9Tribological properties of polyimide composites reinforced with fibers rubbing against Al_(2)O_(3)显示文摘Reinforcing fillers are of great importance in tribological performance and tribofilm formation of polymeric composites.In this study,the tribological properties of aramid particle(AP)and short carbon fiber(SCF)reinforced polyimide(PI)composites were added to hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN),and silica(SiO_(2))nanoparticles sliding against alumina were comprehensively investigated.When sliding occurred with AP-reinforced PI composites,the tribological properties were not closely depended on the pressure×velocity(p×v)factors and the nanoparticles.The interactions between AP and its counterpart could not induce tribo-sintering of the transferred wear debris.As such,the tribofilm seemed to be in a viscous state,leading to higher friction and wear.However,the inclusion of hard SCF into the PI matrix changed the interfacial interactions with alumina.A robust tribofilm consisting of a high fraction of silica was generated when the SCF-reinforced PI was added to the SiO_(2) nanoparticles.It exhibited a high load-carrying capability and was easily sheared.This caused a significant decrease in the friction and wear of the PI composite at 8 MPa·1m/s.Moreover,due to their high melting point,few h-BN nanoparticles were observed in the tribofilm of the SCF-reinforced PI when hexagonal boron nitride was added.Huimin QI Ga ZHANG Zhiqin ZHENG Jiaxin YU Chao HU 2021Friction2021,9,2:2
10Centrifuge model tests on pile-reinforced slopes subjected to drawdown显示文摘Piles are generally an effective way to reduce the risk of slope failure.However,previous approaches for slope stability analysis did not consider the effect of the piles coupled with the decrease of the water level(drawdown).In this study,a series of centrifuge model tests was performed to understand the deformation and failure characteristics of slopes reinforced with various pile layouts.In the centrifuge model tests,the pile-reinforced slopes exhibited two typical failure modes under drawdown conditions:across-pile failure and through-pile failure.In the through-pile slope failure,a discontinuous slip surface was observed,implying that the assumption of the slip surface in previous stability analysis methods was unreasonable.The test results showed that drawdown led to instability of the piles in cohesive soil,as the saturated cohesive soil failed to provide sufficient constraint for piles.The slope exhibited progressive failure,from top to bottom,during drawdown.The deformation of the piles was reduced by increasing the embedment depth and row number of piles.In addition,the deformation of soils outside the piles was influenced by the piles and showed a similar distribution shape as the piles,and the similarity degree weakened as the distance from the piles increased.This study also found that the failure mechanism of unreinforced and pile-reinforced slopes induced by drawdown could be described by coupling between the deformation localization and local failure,and it revealed that pile-reinforced slopes could reduce slope deformation localization during drawdown.Sujia Liu Fangyue Luo Ga Zhang 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,6:2
