1How is mRNA expression predictive for protein expression? 2Macrophages in immunoregulation and therapeutics显示文摘Macrophages exist in various tissues,several body cavities,and around mucosal surfaces and are a vital part of the innate immune system for host defense against many pathogens and cancers.Macrophages possess binary M1/M2 macrophage polarization settings,which perform a central role in an array of immune tasks via intrinsic signal cascades and,therefore,must be precisely regulated.Many crucial questions about macrophage signaling and immune modulation are yet to be uncovered.In addition,the clinical importance of tumor-associated macrophages is becoming more widely recognized as significant progress has been made in understanding their biology.Moreover,they are an integral part of the tumor microenvironment,playing a part in the regulation of a wide variety of processes including angiogenesis,extracellular matrix transformation,cancer cell proliferation,metastasis,immunosuppression,and resistance to chemotherapeutic and checkpoint blockade immunotherapies.Herein,we discuss immune regulation in macrophage polarization and signaling,mechanical stresses and modulation,metabolic signaling pathways,mitochondrial and transcriptional,and epigenetic regulation.Furthermore,we have broadly extended the understanding of macrophages in extracellular traps and the essential roles of autophagy and aging in regulating macrophage functions.Moreover,we discussed recent advances in macrophages-mediated immune regulation of autoimmune diseases and tumorigenesis.Lastly,we discussed targeted macrophage therapy to portray prospective targets for therapeutic strategies in health and diseases.Shanze Chen Abdullah F.U.H.Saeed Quan Liu Qiong Jiang Haizhao Xu Gary Guishan Xiao Lang Rao Yanhong Duo 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:2
3Application of SrAl_2O_4:Eu^(2+) Down–conversion Powder in Flexible Dye–Sensitized Solar Cells显示文摘TiO2 nanotube(NT) was firstly prepared on titanium foil by an electrochemical anodization method, and then modified via subsequent deposition of a layer of SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphor embedded within TiO2 nanoparticles to fabricate photoanodes of dye–sensitized solar cells(DSSCs). The effect of doping down–conversion Sr Al2O4:Eu2+ phosphor in DSSCs was investigated. SrAl2O4:Eu2+ can effectively convert ultraviolet light to visible light within the range of the dye commonly used in DSSC to increase the photocurrent of DSSC, and enhance the open–circuit voltage by a p–type doping effect. 5Ran binding protein 9(RanBPM) binds IFN-λR1 in the IFN-λsignaling pathway显示文摘Like the type I interferons(IFNs),the recently discovered cytokine IFN-λ displays antiviral,antiproliferative,and proapoptotic activities,mediated by a heterodimeric IFN-λ receptor complex composed of a unique IFN-λR1 chain and the IL-10R2 chain.However,the molecular mechanism of the IFN-λ-regulated pathway remains unclear.In this study,we newly identified RAN-binding protein M(RanBPM) as a binding partner of IFN-λR1.The interaction between RanBPM and IFN-λRl was identified with a glutathione S-transferase pull-down assay and coimmunoprecipitation experiments.IFN-λ1 stimulates this interaction and affects the cellular distribution of RanBPM.However,the interaction between RanBPM and IFN-λR1 does not correlate with their conserved TRAF6-binding sites.Furthermore,we also found that RanBPM is a scaffolding protein with a modulatory function that regulates the activities of IFN-stimulated response elements.Therefore,RanBPM plays a novel role in the IFN-λ-regulated signaling pathway.Junwen Zhang XiaojieCong Jiajie Zhaoqiao Xia Yang Meng Li Hong Chen Ruifang Mi Guishan Jin Fusheng Liu Bing-Ren Huang 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,9:1

7Naringenin inhibits lipid accumulation by activating the AMPK pathway in vivo and in vitro显示文摘The aim of this study was to explore the lipid-lowering effect of naringenin and the underlying mechanism in high-fat-diet-fed SD rats and 3T3-L1 cells.In this study,SD rats were divided into the normal chow diet group(NCD),high fat diet group(HFD),three treatment groups feeding high-fat diet with naringenin(100,200,400 mg/kg)for 12 weeks.Results indicated that naringenin treatment decreased total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG)and the non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(non-HDL-C)levels in serum.Naringenin also alleviated hepatic steatosis and reduced the adipocyte size in the epididymis in high-fat-diet-induced SD rats.In addition,naringenin(25−75μg/mL)decrease TG and TC levels in 3T3 mature adipocytes.The molecular mechanism of naringenin in the treatment of obesity were predicted by using network pharmacology.Real-time PCR analysis results showed that naringenin regulated the expression of lipid metabolism genes.Meanwhile,naringenin increased the AMPK(AMP-activated protein kinase)activity and the expression of AMPK phosphorylated protein in 3T3 mature adipocytes.And the inhibitory effect of naringenin on lipid accumulation in 3T3 adipocytes was abolished by Compound C.Molecular docking results indicated that naringenin could bind to AMPK protein.These results indicated naringenin reduced lipid accumulation through AMPK pathway.Xiaoyu Cai Songxue Wang Huali Wang Suwen Liu Guishan Liu Huibin Chen Ji Kang Hao Wang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,4:0
8Berberine inhibits the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells by targeting pancreatic cancer stem cells through regulating EMT signaling pathway显示文摘Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is universally acknowledged as the cancer with the highest mortality rate.Berberine has high medicinal value and has been used as an anti-cancer agent.Hence the purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-cancer effect of berberine in PDAC.Berberine was shown to have a selective anti-cancer effect on PDAC by MTT assay in vitro.Pancreatic cancer stem cells(PCSCs),regulated by epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),could promote the proliferation of PDAC cells.However,berberine suppressed the proliferation and stemness of PCSCs through immunofluorescence staining,stem cell sphere assays and so forth in vitro.In vivo,berberine reduced tumor size and decreased the expression levels of Ki67,a marker of cellular proliferation,in orthotopic pancreatic tumors.In addition,berberine inhibited the EMT signaling pathway by RT-PCR and Western blotting methods both in vitro and in vivo.Our study indicates that berberine inhibits the proliferation of PDAC cells both in vivo and in vitro.The mechanism of the anti-cancer effect of berberine likely involves the inhibition of EMT.Therefore,berberine may be a novel antineoplastic drug with clinical efficacy in PDAC.MENGMENG LIU YUE PAN XUFENG TAO WENLI KANG YINGJIE LIU YONGJIE YANG GARY GUISHAN XIAO 2022BIOCELL2022,46,10:0
9Synthesis of Copillar[5]arenes and Their Host-Guest Complexation with Two Types of Guests显示文摘A series of novel copillar[5]arenes 1a-1f containing different substituents were synthesized.And their com-plexation with two types of guests was investigated.For symmetrical guests,1,4-dibromobutane(DBB)could thread in the cavity of copillar[5]arenes to form inclusion complexes.But for the unsymmetrical guests,copillar-[5]arene 1f bearing 4-(naphthalen-1-yloxy)butoxy could not complex with sec-butyl iodide(SBI)and sec-butyl bromide(SBB)at all,while 1f showed weak interaction with sec-butylamine•HCl(SBA)outside the cavity.These results indicated that the modified group of copillar[5]arene and the symmetry of guest played an important role in the complexation model and selectivity.Hongfei Huang Luzhi Liu Wengui Duan Yan Huang Guishan Lin 2015Chinese Journal of Chemistry2015,33,3:0
10WC/Co_(7)Fe_(3)heterojunction embedded in N,P co-doped hierarchical carbon enables rechargeable/flexible Zn-air battery显示文摘Rational design and synthesis of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts with high activity and stability are key challenges in the development of rechargeable Zn-air batteries(ZABs).In this paper,tungsten carbide(WC)and Co_(7)Fe_(3)embedded in N,P co-doped hierarchical carbon(WC/Co_(7)Fe_(3)-NPHC)was prepared by using zeolite imidazolate frameworks as precursor.Density functional theory demonstrates that the mutual adjustment among the WC,Co_(7)Fe_(3),and N,P co-doped carbon at the three-phase heterojunction interface makes the catalyst possess moderate adsorption strength,and greatly improves the conductivity and electron transfer rate of the catalyst.As a result,the WC/Co_(7)Fe_(3)-NPHC exhibits a low overall oxygen redox potential difference of 0.72 V,while the ZAB assembled by WC/Co_(7)Fe_(3)-NPHC as an air cathode exhibits ultra-long cycle stability of over 550 h.Futhermore,WC/Co_(7)Fe_(3)-NPHC can keep good charge and discharge stability at different bending angles when applied to flexible solid ZAB.Huimin Mao Xiaobin Liu Siqi Wu Yixin Fu Guishan Liu Guizhong Zhou Lei Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
