| 7 | Soil Microbial Community and Enzyme Activity Responses to Herbaceous Plant Expansion in the Changbai Mountains Tundra, China显示文摘As one of the most sensitive regions to global climate change, alpine tundra in many places around the world has been undergoing dramatic changes in vegetation communities over the past few decades.Herbaceous plant species in the Changbai Mountains area have significantly expanded into tundra shrub communities over the past 30 yr.Soil microbial communities, enzyme activities, and soil nutrients are intertwined with this expansion process.In order to understand the responses of the soil microbial communities to such an expansion, we analyzed soil microbial community structures and enzyme activities in shrub tundra as well as areas with three different levels of herbaceous plant expansion.Our investigation was based on phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA) analysis and 96-well microtiter plates.The results showed that herbs have expanded greatly in the tundra, and they have become the dominant species in herbaceous plant expansion areas.There were differences for community composition and appearance among the shrub tundra and the mild expansion, moderate expansion, and severe expansion areas.Except for soil organic matter, soil nutrients were increased in herbaceous plant expansion areas, and the total nitrogen(TN), total phosphorus(TP), available nitrogen(AN), and available phosphorus(AP) were greatest in moderate expansion areas(MOE), while soil organic matter levels were highest in the non-expanded areas(CK).The total soil PLFAs in the three levels of herbaceous plant expansion areas were significantly higher than those in the non-expanded areas, and total soil PLFAs were highest in the moderately expanded area and lowest in the severely expanded area(SEE).Bacteria increased significantly more than fungi and actinomycetes with herbaceous plant expansion.Soil hydrolase activities(β-1,4-glucosidase(βG) activity, β-1, 4-N-acetylglucosaminidase(NAG) activity, and acid phosphatase(aP) activity) were highest in MOE and lowest in the CK treatment.Soil oxidase activities(polyphenol oxidase(PPO) activities and peroxidase(PER) activities) were also highest in MOE, but they were lowest in the SEE treatment.The variations in total soil PLFAs with herbaceous plant expansion were mostly correlated with soil organic matter and available phosphorus concentrations, while soil enzyme activities were mostly correlated with the total soil nitrogen concentration.Our results suggest that herbaceous plant expansion increase the total soil PLFAs and soil enzyme activities and improved soil nutrients.However, soil microorganisms, enzyme activity, and nutrients responded differently to levels of herbaceous plant expansion.The soil conditions in mild and moderate expansion areas are more favorable than those in severe expansion areas. | JIN Yinghua ZHANG Yingjie XU Zhiwei GU Xiaonan XU Jiawei TAO Yan HE Hongshi WANG Ailin LIU Yuxia NIU Liping | 2019 | Chinese Geographical Science2019,29,6: | 4 |

| 10 | Comparative Assessment of Tundra Vegetation Changes Between North and Southwest Slopes of Changbai Mountains, China, in Response to Global Warming显示文摘Vegetation in high altitude areas normally exhibits the strongest response to global warming. We investigated the tundra vegetation on the Changbai Mountains and revealed the similarities and differences between the north and the southwest slopes of the Changbai Mountains in response to global warming. Our results were as follows: 1) The average temperatures in the growing season have increased from 1981 to 2015, the climate tendency rate was 0.38℃/10 yr, and there was no obvious change in precipitation observed. 2) The tundra vegetation of the Changbai Mountains has changed significantly over the last 30 years. Specifically, herbaceous plants have invaded into the tundra zone, and the proportion of herbaceous plants was larger than that of shrubs. Shrub tundra was transforming into shrub-grass tundra. 3) The tundra vegetation in the north and southwest slopes of the Changbai Mountains responded differently to global warming. The southwest slope showed a significantly higher degree of invasion from herbaceous plants and exhibited greater vegetation change than the north slope. 4) The species diversity of plant communities on the tundra zone of the north slope changed unimodally with altitude, while that on the tundra zone of the southwest slope decreased monotonously with altitude. Differences in the degree of invasion from herbaceous plants resulted in differences in species diversity patterns between the north and southwest slopes. | 11 | SOCS3 Attenuates GM-CSF/IFN-γ-Mediated Inflammation During Spontaneous Spinal Cord Regeneration显示文摘SOCS3,a feedback inhibitor of the JAK/STAT signal pathway,negatively regulates axonal regrowth and inflammation in the central nervous system(CNS).Here,we demonstrated a distinct role of SOCS3 in the injured spinal cord of the gecko following tail amputation.Severing the gecko spinal cord did not evoke an inflammatory cascade except for an injury-stimulated elevation of the granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor(GM-CSF) and interferon gamma(IFN-γ) cytokines.Simultaneously,the expression of SOCS3 was upregulated in microglia,and unexpectedly not in neurons.Enforced expression of SOCS3 was sufficient to suppress the GMCSF/IFN-γ-driven inflammatory responses through its KIR domain by attenuating the activities of JAK1 and JAK2.SOCS3 was also linked to GM-CSF/IFN-y-induced crosstolerance.Transfection of adenovirus overexpressing SOCS3 in the injured cord resulted in a significant decrease of inflammatory cytokines.These results reveal a distinct role of SOCS3 in the regenerating spinal cord,and provide new hints for CNS repair in mammals. | Xuejie Zhang Bingqiang He Hui Li Yingjie Wang Yue Zhou Wenjuan Wang Tiancheng Song Nan Du Xingxing Gu Yi Luo Yongjun Wang | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,7: | 3 |

| 13 | Designing heterostructured FeP–CoP for oxygen evolution reaction:Interface engineering to enhance electrocatalytic performance显示文摘It is significant to develop highly efficient electrocatalysts for energy conversion systems.Interface engineering is one of the most feasible approaches to effectively enhance the electrocatalytic activity.Herein,the density functional theory(DFT)calculations predict that the potential barriers of Fe sites at the interface of FeP–CoP heterostructures are lower than that of Fe sites in FeP nanoparticles(NPs),Co sites in CoP NPs,or Co sites in heterostructures.Motivated by the DFT calculation results,FeP–CoP heterostructures have been designed and synthesized by a metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)confined-phosphorization method.The FeP–CoP exhibits the lowest overpotential of 230 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for oxygen evolution reaction(OER),compared with FeP(470 mV)and CoP(340 mV),which outperforms most of transition metal-based catalysts.The Tafel analysis of FeP–CoP heterostructures shows an improved reaction kinetic pathway with the smallest slope of 90.3 mV·dec^(−1),as compared to the Tafel slopes of FeP NPs(137 mV·dec^(−1))and CoP NPs(114 mV·dec^(−1)).And the FeP–CoP shows extraordinary long-term stability over 24 h.The excellent activity and long-term stability of FeP–CoP derive from the synergistic effect between FeP and CoP. | Shuang Hou Ansai Zhang Qi Zhou Yingjie Wen Sixie Zhang Linfeng Su Xinjie Huang Tian Wang Kun Rui Cheng Wang Huiling Liu Zhiyi Lu Peilei He | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 2 |
| 14 | Degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride by ultrafine TiO_(2) nanoparticles modified g-C_(3)N_(4) heterojunction photocatalyst:Influencing factors,products and mechanism insight显示文摘The unique heterojunction photocatalyst of graphite carbon nitride (g-C_(3)N_(4)) modified ultrafine TiO_(2) (g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2)) was successfully fabricated by electrochemical etching and co-annealing method. However, the effects of various environmental factors on the degradation of TC by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) and the internal reaction mechanism are still unclear. In this study, the effects of initial pH, anions, and cations on the photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) were systematically explored, and the scavenging experiment and intermediate detection were conducted to better reveal the mechanism on photocatalytic degradation of TC. The results showed that the removal efficiency of photocatalytic degradation of TC by g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) could reach 99.04% under Xenon lamp irradiation within 120 min. The unique g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) heterojunction photocatalyst showed excellent photocatalytic performance for the degradation of TC at pH 3~7, and possesses outstanding anti-interference ability to NO_(3)^(-), Cl^(-), Na^(+), Ca^(2+) and Mg^(2+) ions in natural waters during the photocatalytic degradation TC process. Superoxide radicals (O_(2)^(·-)) and hydroxyl radicals (^(·)OH) were proved as the main reactive species for TC degradation, and the possible mechanism of the unique photocatalytic system for g-C_(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2) was also proposed. | 17 | Strengthening mechanism of B_4C@APC/Al matrix composites reinforced with bimodal-sized particles prepared by hydrothermal carbonized deposition on chips显示文摘A B_(4)C@amorphous carbon(APC)/Al matrix composite was fabricated by using hydrothermal carbonized deposition on chips(HTCDC)process and solid-state synthesis process.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the B_(4)C@APC/Al matrix composite were investigated.After HTCDC process,nano-B_(4)C particles(50 nm)and micron-sized B_(4)C@APC core-shell spheres with a diameter of 2μm were found in the composites.The microhardness of the micron-sized B_(4)C@APC spheres is 1.66 GPa,which is greater than that of theα-Al matrix(1.06 GPa).Dislocation accumulation is observed around the micron-sized B_(4)C@APC spheres,indicating that the micron-sized B_(4)C@APC spheres have a strengthening effect on theα-Al matrix.Due to the formation of micron-sized B_(4)C@APC spheres,the reinforcement of nano-B_(4)C particles into the composites is transformed from single-sized particle enhancement to bimodal-sized particle enhancement.The strengthening mechanism for B_(4)C@APC/Al matrix composites with bimodalsized particles of nano-B_(4)C and micron-sized B_(4)C@APC spheres were analyzed,which includes thermal mismatch strengthening generated by the mismatch of coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)between micron-sized B_(4)C@APC core-shell spheres andα-Al matrix,Orowan strengthening produced by nano-B_(4)C particles,Hall-Petch strengthening and load transfer strengthening produced by the bimodal-sized enhancement from nano and microspheres.A relationship model between the yield strength(YS)increment and the conversion rate(x)of micron-sized B_(4)C@APC core-shell spheres was estimated. | Yingjie He Hongyu Xu Yang Liu Yihan Chen Zesheng Ji | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,28: | 1 |
| 18 | Model construction of micro-pores in shale: A case study of Silurian Longmaxi Formation shale in Dianqianbei area, SW China显示文摘Based on scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption experiment at low temperature, the pore types and structures of the Longmaxi Formation shale in the Dianqianbei area, SW China were analyzed, and a molecular model was built. According to mathematical statistics, the validation of the model was solved by converting it into a mathematical formula. It is found by SEM that the pores in clay mineral layers and organic pores occupy most of the pores in shale; the nitrogen adsorption experiment at low temperature reveals that groove pores formed by flaky particles and micro-pores are the main types of pores, and the results of the two are in good agreement. A molecular model was established by illite and graphene molecular structures. Moreover, based on the fractal theory and the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill formula, a modified Frenkel-Halsey-Hill formula was proposed. The reliability of the molecular model was verified to some extent by obtaining parameters such as the fractal dimension, replacement rate and fractal coefficients of correction, and mathematical calculation. | 19 | An in-situ DRIFTS study in the reaction between NO_x and soot on BaAl_2O_4显示文摘The interactions between NO, O2 and their mixture on BaAl2O4, as well as the reaction of NOx with soot in the presence of O2, have been investigated using Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (DRIFTS). NO adsorption produces only nitrites species in the absence of O2. NO2 ad- sorption produces nitrates species besides nitrites species. The produced nitrites will further react with O2, O-su rf and O l2-att ice to form nitrates. The reaction of NOx with soot begins with the reaction of ni- trates with soot oxygenated complex (C(O)), which is regarded as the key and rate determining step.
