1Genome analysis of Taraxacum kok-saghyz Rodin provides new insights into rubber biosynthesis显示文摘The Russian dandelion Taraxacum kok-saghyz Rodin(TKS), a member of the Composite family and a potential alternative source of natural rubber(NR) and inulin, is an ideal model system for studying rubber biosynthesis. Here we present the draft genome of TKS, the first assembled NR-producing weed plant. The draft TKS genome assembly has a length of 1.29 Gb, containing 46 731 predicted protein-coding genes and68.56% repeats, in which the LTR-RT elements predominantly contribute to the genome enlargement. We analyzed the heterozygous regions/genes, suggesting its possible involvement in inbreeding depression.Through comparative studies between rubber-producing and non-rubber-producing plants, we found that enzymes of the mevalonate(MVA) pathway and rubber elongation might be critical for rubber biosynthesis, and several key isoforms have been isolated and shown to be predominantly expressed in the latex, indicating their crucial functions in rubber biosynthesis. Moreover, for two important families in rubber elongation, the CPT/CPTL and REF/SRPP families, diverse evolutionary tracks have been revealed. 3The effects of coal blending on the formation and properties of particulate matter during combustion显示文摘The control of particulate matter (PM) emissions from coal combustion becomes an urgent work due to their adverse effects on human health. Coal blending is a promising option for submicron particulate (PM1) reduction. This study addressed the effects of coal blending on the formation and properties of particulate matter in combustion process. Coal blends from lignite and bituminous coal,with different blend ratios (9:1,7:3,5:5,3:7 and 1:9),were combusted in a drop tube furnace. The mass size distribution,concentration,elemental composition and morphology of the particulate matter generated under O2/N2 and O2/CO2 conditions were characterized. Particulate matter was collected by a low pressure impactor (LPI),which aerodynamically segregated particulates into thirteen fractions with sizes ranging from 0.03 to 9.8 μm. The results showed that coal blending reduced PM1 generation,compared with the calculated average values from the combustion of constituent coals. This indicated that the mineral interactions had a great effect on PM1 reduction. The blend ratio also played an important role in the suppression of PM1 genera-tion. In this experimental study,PM1 generation suffered a maximum suppression at the blend ratio of 7:3. The O2/CO2 atmos-phere affected the formation and properties of the PM1 during coal blends combustion. Compared with the O2/N2 combustion,the interaction of minerals was weakened under O2/CO2 combustion,thus the suppression of PM1 generation decreased after coal blending. Compared with the calculated values,the concentrations and percentages of Ca,Fe in PM1 decreased,but the concentra-tions of Ca,Fe,Si and Al in coarse particulates (PM10+) increased after coal blends combustion. 4Characteristics and composition of particulate matter from coal-fired power plants显示文摘Measurements of the characteristics of particulate matter(PM)were performed at the inlet and outlet of the electrostatic precipitators(ESP)of four boilers in two full-scale pulverized coal power plants.PM was collected with a 13-stages low-pressure-impactor(LPI)having aerodynamic cut-off diameter ranging from 10.0 to 0.03μm for a size-segregated collection.The properties of PM including its con-centration,mass size distribution,emission characteristics,percent penetration of PM through ESP and elemental composition were investigated.The experimental results indicate that,in all the cases the mass size distribution of PM10 had typical bimodal.PM1 contained up to 1.15wt% of the total particle(TP)generated in the boilers.PM2.5 contained about 2wt%―7wt% of the TP and PM10 contained about 4wt%―19wt% of the TP.When additive limestone used for desulphurization as sorbent besides PM generated from coal combustion,there was new PM generated from limestone.Penetration as a func-tion of particle diameter had a clear peak in particle size ranging from 0.2 to 0.6μm.Particles in the submicrometer size range were much more difficult to be collected with ESP than larger particles.Dis-tributions of individual elements within PM10 were different.LIU XiaoWei XU MingHou YAO Hong YU DunXi ZHANG ZhongHua LüDangZhen 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,6:7
5Study on ultrasonic spray technology for the coating of vascular stent显示文摘The ultrasonic spray technology is studied by the method of theoretical derivation,CFD simulation,spray particle diameter detection and analysis,and experimental analysis. And the ultrasonic spray process for the coating of vascular stent is also optimized. Firstly,the ultrasonic atomization physical model is established and the equation of atomization particle diameter is derived. Secondly,the ultrasonic atomization process is simulated by the CFD method,and shows three atomization patterns:incomplete atomization pattern,critical atomization pattern and jet atomization pattern. The critical amplitude and power equation for ultrasonic atomization is derived. Thirdly,experiment is conducted to study the influence of parameters including power,gas pressure,and surface tension. The results show that the spray is stable though few particles are likely to collide each other during spray moving,and the droplet diameter is about 10-m. The Rosin-Rammler distribution equation for ultrasonic spray is created,and the uniform index number is between 7.11 and 11.48. The uniformity of spray particle diameter,the efficiency of adjustment and the energy consumption are better than traditional spray technology. 6Separation of nanocolloids driven by dielectrophoresis:A molecular dynamics simulation显示文摘The nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (MD) method was used to model the nanocolloids and the solvent particles. By introducing a non-uniform electric field, colloids were polarized to have opposite polarities. Separation of colloids driven by dielectrophoresis (DEP) could be seen clearly under a strong electric field at low temperatures. Analyzing the ratio of DEP velocities of colloids to thermal velocities of neutral solvent particles showed that when the ratio was correspondingly big, collision between colloids and solvent particles would be intense, making the DEP velocity of colloids fluctuate frequently. By changing the electric field strength, it was found that the enhancement of electric field strength would quicken the separation of colloids. But when the electric field strength increased to a certain degree, the separation motion would be slow because of the strong friction resistance of the solvent particles to the colloids. Moreover, studying the separation reason of colloids based on the potential energy showed that after colloids were polarized, the attractive potential energy among the colloids would be weaker than before, while the increase of temperature would reduce the attractive potential energy and increase the repulsive potential energy, which accorded with the DLVO theory.NI ZhongHua ZHANG XinJie YI Hong 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,7:5
7First results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from CDEX-1 experiment显示文摘We report the first results on ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay from stage one of the China dark-matter experiment(CDEX).A p-type point-contact high-purity germanium detector with a mass of 994 g has been installed to detect neutrinoless double beta decay events, as well as to directly detect dark matter particles. An exposure of 304 kg d has been analyzed over a wide spectral band from 500 keV to 3 MeV. The average event rate obtained was about 0.012 counts per keV per kg per day over the 2.039 MeV energy range. The half-life of ^(76)Ge neutrinoless double beta decay derived based on this result is T^(0ν)1/2>6.4×10^(22) yr(90% C.L.). 8Research on critical technology of micro/nano bioparticles manipulation platform based on light-induced dielectrophoresis显示文摘On the basis of the research on the status and problems of micro/nano bio-particles manipulation using dielectrophoresis, the theoretical basis and the model simulation of micro/nano bio-particles manipu-lation using light-induced dielectrophoresis were discussed. The space distribution of electric field and dielectrophoresis forces in different heights were also obtained. On this basis, the core component of the micro manipulation system, that is, photoconductive layer of the chip, was completed in the mate-rial selection, fabricating process and performance analysis testing. Then the voltage drop of the sus-pension and the effective voltage frequency spectrum were obtained. Finally, by combining the machine vision detection with real-time tracking system, the micro/nano bio-particles manipulation platform based on the light-induced dielectrophoreisis was established, and then the manipulations for micro/nano bio-particles, such as quick collection, transport, separation, were implemented. 9Exosomes secreted from cardiomyocytes suppress the sensitivity of tumor ferroptosis in ischemic heart failure显示文摘Heart failure(HF)patients in general have a higher risk of developing cancer.Several animal studies have indicated that cardiac remodeling and HF remarkably accelerate tumor progression,highlighting a cause-and-effect relationship between these two disease entities.Targeting ferroptosis,a prevailing form of non-apoptotic cell death,has been considered a promising therapeutic strategy for human cancers.Exosomes critically contribute to proximal and distant organ-organ communications and play crucial roles in regulating diseases in a paracrine manner.However,whether exosomes control the sensitivity of cancer to ferroptosis via regulating the cardiomyocyte-tumor cell crosstalk in ischemic HF has not yet been explored.Here,we demonstrate that myocardial infarction(MI)decreased the sensitivity of cancer cells to the canonical ferroptosis activator erastin or imidazole ketone erastin in a mouse model of xenograft tumor.Post-MI plasma exosomes potently blunted the sensitivity of tumor cells to ferroptosis inducers both in vitro in mouse Lewis lung carcinoma cell line LLC and osteosarcoma cell line K7M2 and in vivo with xenograft tumorigenesis model.The expression of miR-22-3p in cardiomyocytes and plasma-exosomes was significantly upregulated in the failing hearts of mice with chronic MI and of HF patients as well.Incubation of tumor cells with the exosomes isolated from post-MI mouse plasma or overexpression of miR-22-3p alone abrogated erastin-induced ferroptotic cell death in vitro.Cardiomyocyte-enriched miR-22-3p was packaged in exosomes and transferred into tumor cells.Inhibition of cardiomyocyte-specific miR-22-3p by AAV9 sponge increased the sensitivity of cancer cells to ferroptosis.ACSL4,a pro-ferroptotic gene,was experimentally established as a target of miR-22-3p in tumor cells.Taken together,our findings uncovered for the first time that MI suppresses erastin-induced ferroptosis through releasing miR-22-3p-enriched exosomes derived from cardiomyocytes.Therefore,targeting exosome-mediated cardiomyocyte/tumor pathological communication may offer a novel approach for the ferroptosis-based antitumor therapy.Ye Yuan Zhongting Mei Zhezhe Qu Guanghui Li Shuting Yu Yingqi Liu Kuiwu Liu Zhihua Shen Jiaying Pu Yanquan Wang Changhao Wang Zhiyong Sun Qian Liu Xiaochen Pang Ao Wang Zijing Ren Tong Wang Ying Liu Jinhuan Hong Jiajie Xie Xin Li Zhonghua Wang Weijie Du Baofeng Yang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:2

11OPTIMIZATION OF CORONARY STENT STRUCTURE DESIGN FOR MAXIMIZING THE ANTICOMPRESSION MECHANICAL PROPERTY显示文摘Excellent mechanical property of the anti-compression or high collapse pressure has become an essential feature of new coronary stents.How to determine the design parameters of stent becomes the key to improve the stent quality.An integrated approach using radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and genetic algorithm (GA) for the optimization of anti-compression mechanical property of stent is presented in this paper.First,finite element simulation and RBFNN are used to map the complex non-linear relationship between the collapse pressure and stent design parameters.Then GA is employed with the fitness function based on an RBFNN model for arriving at optimum configuration of the stent by maximizing the collapse pressure.The results of numerical experiment demonstrate that the combination of RBFNN and GA is an effective approach for the mechanical properties optimization of stent.SHEN Xiang YI Hong NI Zhonghua GU Xingzhong 2008Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,6:2

20A harlequin ichthyosis pig model with a novel ABCA12 mutation can be rescued by acitretin treatment显示文摘Harlequin ichthyosis (HI) is a severe genetic skin disorder and caused by mutation in the ATP-binding cassette A12 (ABCA12) gene. The retinoid administration has dramatically improved long-term survival of HI, but improvements are still needed. However, the ABCA12 null mice failed to respond to retinoid treatment, which impedes the development of novel cure strategies for HI. Here we generated an ethylnitrosourea mutagenic HI pig model (named Z9), which carries a novel deep intronic mutation IVS49-727 A>G in the ABCA12 gene, resulting in abnormal mRNA splicing and truncated protein production. Z9 pigs exhibit significant clinical symptom as human patients with HI. Most importantly, systemic retinoid treatment significantly prolonged the life span of the mutant pigs via improving epidermal maturation, decreasing epidermal apoptosis, and triggering the expression of ABCA6.
