| 2 | Comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses uncover the molecular basis of high nitrogen-use efficiency in the wheat cultivar Kenong 9204显示文摘Studying the regulatory mechanisms that drive nitrogen-use efficiency(NUE)in crops is important for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection.In this study,we generated a high-quality genome assembly for the high-NUE wheat cultivar Kenong 9204 and systematically analyzed genes related to nitrogen uptake and metabolism.By comparative analyses,we found that the high-affinity nitrate transporter gene family had expanded in Triticeae.Further studies showed that subsequent functional differentiation endowed the expanded family members with saline inducibility,providing a genetic basis for improving the adaptability of wheat to nitrogen deficiency in various habitats.To explore the genetic and molecular mechanisms of high NUE,we compared genomic and transcriptomic data from the high-NUE cultivar Kenong 9204(KN9204)and the low-NUE cultivar Jing 411 and quantified their nitrogen accumulation under high-and low-nitrogen conditions.Compared with Jing 411,KN9204 absorbed significantly more nitrogen at the reproductive stage after shooting and accumulated it in the shoots and seeds.Transcriptome data analysis revealed that nitrogen deficiency clearly suppressed the expression of genes related to cell division in the young spike of Jing 411,whereas this suppression of gene expression was much lower in KN9204.In addition,KN9204 maintained relatively high expression of NPF genes for a longer time than Jing 411 during seed maturity.Physiological and transcriptome data revealed that KN9204 was more tolerant of nitrogen deficiency than Jing 411,especially at the reproductive stage.The high NUE of KN9204 is an integrated effect controlled at different levels.Taken together,our data provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of NUE and important gene resources for improving wheat cultivars with a higher NUE trait. | Xiaoli Shi Fa Cui Xinyin Han Yilin He Long Zhao Na Zhang Hao Zhang Haidong Zhu Zhexin Liu Bin Ma Shusong Zheng Wei Zhang Jiajia Liu Xiaoli Fan Yaoqi Si Shuiquan Tian Jianqing Niu Huilan Wu Xuemei Liu Zhuo Chen Deyuan Meng Xiaoyan Wang Liqiang Song Lijing Sun Jie Han Hui Zhao Jun Ji Zhiguo Wang Xiaoyu He Ruilin Li Xuebin Chi Chengzhi Liang Beifang Niu Jun Xiao Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,9: | 6 |
| 3 | Light-absorbing impurities on Keqikaer Glacier in western Tien Shan: concentrations and potential impact on albedo reduction显示文摘Light-absorbing impurities on glaciers are important factors that influence glacial surface albedo and accelerate glacier melt. In this study, the quantity of light-absorbing impurities on Keqikaer Glacier in western Tien Shan, Central Asia, was measured. We found that the average concentrations of black carbon was 2,180 ng/g, with a range from 250 ng/g to more than 10,000 ng/g. The average concentrations of organic carbon and mineral dust were 1,738 ng/g and 194 μg/g, respectively. Based on simulations performed with the Snow Ice Aerosol Radiative model simulations, black carbon and dust are responsible for approximately 64% and 9%, respectively, of the albedo reduction, and are associated with instantaneous radiative forcing of 323.18 W/m2(ranging from 142.16 to 619.25 W/m2) and 24.05 W/m2(ranging from 0.15 to69.77 W/m2), respectively. For different scenarios, the albedo and radiative forcing effect of black carbon is considerably greater than that of dust. The estimated radiative forcing at Keqikaer Glacier is higher than most similar values estimated by previous studies on the Tibetan Plateau, perhaps as a result of black carbon enrichment by melt scavenging. Light-absorbing impurities deposited on Keqikaer Glacier appear to mainly originate from central Asia, Siberia, western China(including the Taklimakan Desert) and parts of South Asia in summer, and from the Middle East and Central Asia in winter.A footprint analysis indicates that a large fraction(>60%) of the black carbon contributions on Keqikaer Glacier comes from anthropogenic sources. | 4 | A MXene-functionalized paper-based electrochemical immunosensor for label-free detection of cardiac troponin I显示文摘Convenient,rapid,and accurate detection of cardiac troponin I(cTnI)is crucial in early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction(AMI).A paper-based electrochemical immunosensor is a promising choice in this field,because of the flexibility,porosity,and cost-efficacy of the paper.However,paper is poor in electronic conductivity and surface functionality.Herein,we report a paper-based electrochemical immunosensor for the label-free detection of cTnI with the working electrode modified by MXene(Ti_(3)C_(2))nanosheets.In order to immobilize the bio-receptor(anti-cTnI)on the MXene-modified working electrode,the MXene nanosheets were functionalized by aminosilane,and the functionalized MXene was immobilized onto the surface of the working electrode through Nafion.The large surface area of the MXene nanosheets facilitates the immobilization of antibodies,and the excellent conductivity facilitates the electron transfer between the electrochemical species and the underlying electrode surface.As a result,the paper-based immunosensor could detect cTnI within a wide range of 5-100 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.58 ng/mL.The immunosensor also shows outstanding selectivity and good repeatability.Our MXene-modified paper-based electrochemical immunosensor enables fast and sensitive detection of cTnI,which may be used in real-time and cost-efficient monitoring of AMI diseases in clinics. | Li Wang Yufeng Han Hongchen Wang Yaojie Han Jinhua Liu Gang Lu Haidong Yu | 2021 | Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,9: | 3 |
| 5 | The temporal and spatial variation of positive degree-day factors on the Koxkar Glacier over the south slope of the Tianshan Mountains, China, from 2005 to 2010显示文摘The degree-day model is one important method to estimate glacier melt, which is based on the specific relationship between glacial melting and the sum of daily mean temperatures above the melting point. According to the observation data on the Koxkar Glacier(KG) from 2005 to 2010, we analyzed the temporal and spatial variation of degree-day factors(DDF) and its influential factors. The results indicate that the average value of DDF was 7.2~10.4 mm/(°C·d) on the KG from 2005 to 2010. It showed a decreasing trend between 3,700 m and 4,200 m, and the deceasing trend was more obvious in the upper part of the KG. On a spatial scale, the DDF increased evidently with increasing altitude. The DDF ranged from3.6 to 9.3 mm/(°C·d) at 3,700 m a.s.l., with the average value of 9.3 mm/(°C·d). It varied from 6.9 to 13.0 mm/(°C·d) at4,000 m a.s.l., with the average value of 10.2 mm/(°C·d). | 6 | Structural and Magnetic Properties of Nanocomposite Nd Fe BPrepared by Rapid Thermal Processing显示文摘Nanoscale permanent magnetic materials,which possess excellent magnetic and mechanical properties,thermal stability,and corrosion resistance,have become a research hotspot for permanent magnets.In reality,however,the obtained maximum energy product,(BH)max,is not satisfactory in comparison with the theory limit,especially for exchange-coupled nanocomposite magnets.The construction of an ideal microstructure still remains a challenge in the synthesis and preparation of nanoscale permanent magnets.This work reported the impact of rapid thermal process(RTP)with electron-beam heating on the microstructures of Nd12.5-xFe80.8+xB6.2Nb0.2Ga0.3(x=0,2.5)nanocomposites.It was found that the crystallization time was greatly reduced,from 15 min under the conventional annealing conditions to 0.1 s under the RTP.For Nd2Fe14B single-phase materials,the crystallization temperature of the RTP ribbons decreased by about 248 C compared with that of the ribbons produced by the conventional annealing method.A synergetic crystallization of the Nd2Fe14B and a-Fe phases was observed under the RTP,which restrained not only the shape,size distribution,and compositions of the hard and the soft phases,but also the interface between them.This modification effect became more obvious as the fraction of Fe increased.Due to the improvement in the uniformity of the Nd2Fe14B and a-Fe phases,and their grain size distribution,better magnetic properties were achieved using RTP in comparison with the conventional annealing method. | Jinbo Yang Jingzhi Han Haidong Tian Liang Zha Xiongzuo Zhang Chol Song Kim Dong Liang Wenyun Yang Shunquan Liu Changsheng Wang | 2020 | Engineering2020,6,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Genome-wide differences in DNA methylation changes in caprine ovaries between oestrous and dioestrous phases显示文摘Background: DNA methylation plays a vital role in reproduction.Entire genome DNA methylation changes during the oestrous phase(ES) and dioestrous phase(DS) in the ovaries of Guanzhong dairy goats were investigated using bisulphite sequencing to understand the molecular biological mechanisms of these goats' oestrous cycle.Results: We discovered distinct genome-wide DNA methylation patterns in ES and DS ovaries.A total of 26,910 differentially methylated regions were upregulated and 21,453 differentially methylated regions were downregulated in the ES samples compared with the DS samples(P-values ≤0.05 and fold change of methylation ratios ≥2).Differentially methylated region analysis showed hypomethylation in the gene body regions and hypermethylation in the joining region between upstream regions and gene bodies.The methylation ratios of the STAR,FGF2,FGF12,BMP5 and SMAD6 genes in the ES samples were lower than those of the DS samples(P-values≤0.05 and fold change of methylation ratios ≥2).Conversely,the methylation ratios of the EGFR,TGFBR2,IGF2 BP1 and MMD2 genes increased in the ES samples compared with the DS samples.In addition,223 differentially methylated genes were found in the GnRH signalling pathway(KO04912),ovarian steroidogenesis pathway(KO04913),oestrogen signalling pathway(KO04915),oxytocin signalling pathway(KO04921),insulin secretion pathway(KO04911) and MAPK signalling pathway(KO04010).Conclusions: This study is the first large-scale comparison of the high-resolution DNA methylation landscapes of oestrous and dioestrous ovaries from dairy goats.Previous studies and our investigations have shown that the NR5 A2,STAR,FGF2 and BMP5 genes might have potential application value in regulating caprine oestrus. | Xiaopeng An Haidong Ma Peng Han Chao Zhu Binyun Cao Yueyu Bai | 2019 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019,10,1: | 1 |

Although the expression pattern of Avr genes has been tied to their functions for a long time, it is still not clear how Avr gene expression patterns impact plant-microbe interactions. Here, we selected Ps Avr3b, which shows a typical effector gene expression pattern from a soybean root pathogen Phytophthora sojae. To modulate gene expression, we engineered Ps Avr3b promoter sequences by in situ substitution with promoter sequences from Actin(constitutive expression), Ps XEG1(early expression), and Ps NLP1(later expression) using the CRISPR/Cas9. Ps Avr3b driven by different promoters resulted in distinct expression levels across all R the tested infection time points. Importantly, those mutants with low Ps Avr3b expression successfully colonized soybean plants carrying the cognate R gene Rps3b. To dissect the difference in plant responses to the Ps Avr3b expression level, we conducted RNA-sequencing of different infection samples at 24 h postinfection and found soybean immune genes,including a few previously unknown genes that are associated with resistance. | 14 | 中国冰川研究进展显示文摘Glacier inventory compilation during the past 20 years and modifications of that for the Eastern Pamir and Banggong Lake indicate that there are 46,342 modern glaciers with a total area and volume of 59415 km2 and 5601 km3 respectively in China. These glaciers can be classified into maritime and continental (including sub-continental and extremely continental) types. Researches show that glaciers in China have been retreating since the Little Ice Age and the mass wastage was accelerated during the past 30 to 40 years. Being an important part of glaciological studies in China,ice core climatic and environmental studies on Tibetan Plateau and in the Antarctica have provided abundant, high resolution information about past climatic and environmental evolution over the Tibetan Plateau and Antarctica. | 18 | Robust n-type doping of WSe2 enabled by controllable proton irradiation显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)are considered to be promising building blocks for the next generation electronic and optoelectronic devices.Various doping schemes and work function engineering techniques have been explored to overcome the intrinsic performance limits of 2D TMDs.However,a reliable and long-time air stable doping scheme is still lacking in this field.In this work,we utilize keV ion beams of H2+to irradiate layered WSe2 crystals and obtain efficient n-type doping effect for all irradiated crystals within a fluence of 1×1014 protons·cm−2(1e14).Moreover,the irradiated WSe2 remains an n-type semiconductor even after it is exposed to ambient conditions for a year.Localized ion irradiation with a focused beam can directly pattern on the sample to make high performance homogenous p-n junction diodes.Raman and photoluminescence(PL)spectra demonstrate that the WSe2 crystal lattice stays intact after irradiation within 1e14.We attribute the reliable electrondoping to the significant increase in Se vacancies after the proton irradiation,which is confirmed by our scanning transmission electron microscope(STEM)results.Our work demonstrates a reliable and long-term air stable n-type doping scheme to realize high-performance electronic TMD devices,which is also suitable for further integration with other 2D devices. | Haidong Liang Yue Zheng Leyi Loh Zehua Hu Qijie Liang Cheng Han Michel Bosman Wei Chen Andrew A.Bettiol | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,1: | 0 |
