1Arctic sea ice volume export through the Fram Strait from combined satellite and model data:1979–2012显示文摘By combing satellite-derived ice motion and concentration with ice thickness fields from a popular model PIOMAS we obtain the estimates of ice volume flux passing the Fram Strait over the 1979–2012 period. Since current satellite and field observations for sea ice thickness are limited in time and space, the use of PIOMAS is expected to fill the gap by providing temporally continued ice thickness fields. Calculated monthly volume flux exhibits a prominent annual cycle with the peak record in March(roughly 145 km3/month) and the trough in August(10 km^3/month). Annual ice volume flux(1 132 km^3) is primarily attributable to winter(October through May) outflow(approximately 92%). Uncertainty in annual ice volume export is estimated to be 55 km^3(or 5.7%). Our results also verified the extremely large volume flux appearing between late 1980 s and mid-1990 s. Nevertheless, no clear trend was found in our volume flux results. Ice motion is the primary factor in the determination of behavior of volume flux. Ice thickness presented a general decline trend may partly enhance or weaken the volume flux trend. Ice concentration exerted the least influences on modulating trends and variability in volume flux. Moreover, the linkage between winter ice volume flux and three established Arctic atmospheric schemes were examined. 2PtNi-W/C with Atomically Dispersed Tungsten Sites Toward Boosted ORR in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Devices显示文摘The performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells is heavily dependent on the microstructure of electrode catalyst especially at low catalyst loadings.This work shows a hybrid electrocatalyst consisting of PtNi-W alloy nanocrystals loaded on carbon surface with atomically dispersed W sites by a two-step straightforward method.Single-atomic W can be found on the carbon surface,which can form protonic acid sites and establish an extended proton transport network at the catalyst surface.When implemented in membrane electrode assembly as cathode at ultra-low loading of 0.05 mgPt cm^(−2),the peak power density of the cell is enhanced by 64.4%compared to that with the commercial Pt/C catalyst.The theoretical calculation suggests that the single-atomic W possesses a favorable energetics toward the formation of*OOH whereby the intermediates can be efficiently converted and further reduced to water,revealing a interfacial cascade catalysis facilitated by the single-atomic W.This work highlights a novel functional hybrid electrocatalyst design from the atomic level that enables to solve the bottle-neck issues at device level.Huawei Wang Jialong Gao Changli Chen Wei Zhao Zihou Zhang Dong Li Ying Chen Chenyue Wang Cheng Zhu Xiaoxing Ke Jiajing Pei Juncai Dong Qi Chen Haibo Jin Maorong Chai Yujing Li 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,9:3

4Large-scale assembly of Cu/CuO nanowires for nano-electronic device fabrication显示文摘To improve the efficiency of nano-electronic device fabrication,a new method named floating electrical potential assembly is proposed to realize large-scale assembly of Cu/CuO nanowires.The simulation of floating electrical potential distribution on the micro-electrode chip is performed by COMSOL software,and the simulation result shows that the coupled electrical potential on the floating drain electrodes is very close to the original electrical potential applied on the gate electrode,which means that the method can provide di-electrophoresis(DEP)force for all the electrode pairs at one time,thus realizing large-scale assembly at one time.With Cu/CuO nanowires well dispersed and micro-electrode chip fabrication,nanowires assembly experiments are performed and the experimental results show that Cu/CuO nanowires are assembled at hundreds of micro-electrodes pairs at one time,and the success rate of nanowires assembly also reaches 90%.XU Ke TIAN XiaoJun YU HaiBo YANG Yang ZHOU Lei LIU LianQing 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:2
5Excess heat capacity in glass-forming liquid systems containing molecules显示文摘Excess heat capacities at glass transition temperature in two types of glass-forming systems of [xNaNO3(1x)KNO3]60·[Ca(NO3)2]40(0x1) and Ca(NO3)2yH2O(4y13) are studied.In the former system,with the replacement of K + cation with Na + cation,the excess heat capacity is around 65.1 J mol-1·K-1,while the excess increases by 38.9 J mol-1·K-1 upon one molar H2O content in latter system.A quantitative description to the excess heat capacity is built up with the thermal effects of atomic and molecular translational motion in liquids.The results might offer a further understanding to the glass transition.KE HaiBo WEN Ping WANG WeiHua 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:1

8Arctic sea ice thickness changes in terms of sea ice age显示文摘In this study, changes in Arctic sea ice thickness for each ice age category were examined based on satellite observations and modelled results. Interannual changes obtained from Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite(ICESat)-based results show a thickness reduction over perennial sea ice(ice that survives at least one melt season with an age of no less than 2 year) up to approximately 0.5–1.0 m and 0.6–0.8 m(depending on ice age) during the investigated winter and autumn ICESat periods, respectively. Pan-Arctic Ice Ocean Modeling and Assimilation System(PIOMAS)-based results provide a view of a continued thickness reduction over the past four decades. Compared to 1980 s, there is a clear thickness drop of roughly 0.50 m in 2010 s for perennial ice. This overall decrease in sea ice thickness can be in part attributed to the amplified warming climate in north latitudes. Besides, we figure out that strongly anomalous southerly summer surface winds may play an important role in prompting the thickness decline in perennial ice zone through transporting heat deposited in open water(primarily via albedo feedback) in Eurasian sector deep into a broader sea ice regime in central Arctic Ocean. 10Structural origin of magnetic softening in a Fe-based amorphous alloy upon annealing显示文摘The underlying structural origin of magnetic properties is still elusive in Fe-based amorphous alloys.In this study,distinctive soft magnetic properties were developed in Fe_(76)Si_(9)B_(10)P_(5)amorphous ribbons through systematic design of annealing process.Combining with synchrotron radiation,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and first principle ab initio molecular dynamic simulation,it is found that the atomic structural evolution both in short range order and medium range order is responsible for the magnetic softness at proper annealing temperature.In short range,formation of separated and densely coordinated Fe-metalloid clusters is instigated to adapt energy minimization,resulting in strengthening of ferromagnetic exchange interaction locally.In medium range,a homogeneous exchangecoupling from the uniformly strong and weak ferromagnetic regions is generated,which significantly weakens magnetic heterogeneity and leads to the excellent magnetic softness.Our findings may provide an effective/promising pathway to modulate the magnetic properties for Fe-based amorphous alloys,and give a comprehensive and quantitative understanding of the structure-properties relationship in amorphous materials.Xing Tong Yan Zhang Yaocen Wang Xiaoyu Liang Kai Zhang Fan Zhang Yuanfei Cai Haibo Ke Gang Wang Jun Shen Akihiro Makino Weihua Wang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,1:1

12Renin--angiotensin system inhibitor is associated with the reduced risk of all-cause mortality in COVID-19 among patients with/without hypertension显示文摘Consecutively hospitalized patients with confirmed coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in Wuhan,China were retrospectively enrolled from January 2020 to March 2020 to investigate the association between the use of renin–angiotensin system inhibitor(RAS-I)and the outcome of this disease.Associations between the use of RAS-I(angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI)or angiotensin receptor blocker(ARB)),ACEI,and ARB and in-hospital mortality were analyzed using multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression models in overall and subgroup of hypertension status.A total of 2771 patients with COVID-19 were included,with moderate and severe cases accounting for 45.0%and 36.5%,respectively.A total of 195(7.0%)patients died.RAS-I(hazard ratio(HR)=0.499,95%confidence interval(CI)0.325–0.767)and ARB(HR=0.410,95%CI 0.240–0.700)use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19.For patients with hypertension,RAS-I and ARB applications were also associated with a reduced risk of mortality with HR of 0.352(95%CI 0.162–0.764)and 0.279(95%CI 0.115–0.677),respectively.RAS-I exhibited protective effects on the survival outcome of COVID-19.ARB use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19.Huai-yu Wang Suyuan Peng Zhanghui Ye Pengfei Li Qing Li Xuanyu Shi Rui Zeng Ying Yao Fan He Junhua Li Liu Liu Shuwang Ge Xianjun Ke Zhibin Zhou Gang Xu Ming-hui Zhao Haibo Wang Luxia Zhang Erdan Dong 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,1:0
13Status of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt for portal hypertension in China:A national survey analysis显示文摘Aim:The transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)procedure has been performed in China for 30 years,but our understanding of the status and difficulties associated with the use of TIPS for portal hypertension is incomplete.This study aims to investigate the current situation of the use of TIPS for portal hypertension,which should aid the development of TIPS in China.Methods:This study involved a questionnaire survey,initiated by the China Portal Hypertension Alliance(CHESS)to investigate the use of TIPS for portal hypertension in China.Questionnaires were released on the Internet between August 16,2022 and September 16,2022.Detailed information was collected from 545 hospitals contracted by the CHESS in China,which performed TIPS surgery in 2021.Results:The 545 hospitals covers the majority of hospitals in China that conduct TIPS intervention.In the survey,a total of 13,527 TIPS interventions were carried out with 94.1%(498/545)of them had a system of routine follow‐up after TIPS.The majority(42.6%[232/545])believed that the main indication of TIPS was the control of acute bleeding.Overall,48.1%(262/545)carried out early or pre‐emptive TIPS,53.0%(289/545)carried out TIPS for cavernous transformation of the portal vein,and 81.0%(441/545)chose routine embolization of collateral circulation during operation.Most used coils(97.0%[475/490])and biological glue(72.0%[353/490])as embolic materials,and 78.5%(428/545)routinely performed intraoperative portal pressure gradient measurements.When selecting TIPS stents,57.1%(311/545)chose viator‐specific stents,and 57.2%(312/545)chose conventional anticoagulation after TIPS.Conventional anticoagulation after TIPS is over a time interval of 3–6 months(55.4%[173/312]).The limitation of TIPS surgery is mainly its cost(72.3%[394/545])and insufficient understanding of the procedure by doctors in other related departments(77.4%[422/545]).Most of the hospital teams accept the use of domestic instruments in TIPS surgery(92.7%[505/545]).Conclusions:This survey shows that TIPS is an essential part of the treatment of portal hypertension in China.TIPS is widely used in Chinese patients with portal hypertension,and this survey presents a more comprehensive picture of the options and difficulties encountered in the implementation of TIPS.In the future,it is necessary to promote TIPS technology and further standardize surgical indications,routine operations,and instrument application.Haibo Shao Xinwei Han Jianbo Zhao Junhui Sun Zhuting Fang Bin Xiong Xiaoli Zhu Weixin Ren Min Yuan Shiping Yu Meng Niu Weifu Lv Xueqiang Zhang Chunqing Zhang Lei Li Xuefeng Luo Yusheng Song Yilong Ma Tong Dang Hua Xiang Yun Jin Hui Xue Guiyun Jin Xiao Li Jiarui Li Shi Zhou Changlu Yu Song He Lei Yu Hongmei Zu Jun Ma Yanming Lei Ke Xu Xiaolong Qi 2023Portal Hypertension & Cirrhosis2023,2,1:0
14Anisotropy of crack initiation strength and damage strength of coal reservoirs显示文摘The crack volume strain method and acoustic emission(AE)method are used to analyze the anisotropy of the crack initiation strength,damage strength,the failure mode and the AE characteristics of coal reservoir.The results show that coal reservoirs show obvious anisotropic characteristics in compressive strength,cracking initiation strength and damage strength.The compressive strength of coal reservoirs decreases with the increase of bedding angle,but the reservoirs with bedding angles of 450 and 900 differ little in compressive strength.The crack initiation strength and damage strength decrease first and then increase with the increase of bedding angle.The crack initiation strength and damage strength are the highest,at the bedding angle of 0°,moderate at the bedding angle of 90°,and lowest at the bedding angle of 45°.When the bedding angle is 0°,the failure of the coal reservoirs is mainly steady propagation of large-scale fractures.When the bedding angle is 45°,one type of failure is caused by steady propagation of small-scale fractures,and the other type of failure is due to a sudden instability of large-scale fractures.When the bedding angle is 90°,the failure is mainly demonstrated by a sudden-instability of small-scale fractures.Compared with the cumulative count method of the AE,the cumulative energy method is more suitable for determining crack initiation strength and damage strength of coal reservoirs.HAO Xianjie WEI Yingnan YANG Ke SU Jian SUN Yingfeng ZHU Guangpei WANG Shaohua CHEN Haibo SUN Zhuowen 2021Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,1:0
15Boosting the performance of deep-ultraviolet photodetector arrays based on phase-transformed heteroepitaxial β-Ga_(2)O_(3) films for solar-blind imaging显示文摘Solar-blind imaging has attracted considerable interest in both military and civilian applications,spurring the development of high-performance deep-ultraviolet photodetector arrays(PDAs) with wide-bandgap semiconductor materials.Herein,we present a novel method to enhance the performance of solar-blind PDAs(SBPDs) using β-Ga_(2)O_(3) films obtained by the phase transition of heterogeneous epitaxial sub-stable ε-Ga_(2)O_(3),achieved through high-temperature rapid annealing.Metal-semiconductor-metaltype SBPDs based on phase-transformed β-Ga_(2)O_(3) films exhibited superior performance,including an ultrahigh responsivity of 459.38 A/W,detectivity of 10^(14)–10^(15) Jones,external quantum efficiency of 10^(4)%–10^(5)%,rejection ratio(R_(254)/R_(365)) of 10^(5)–10^(6),photo-to-dark current ratio of 10^(4)–10^(6),fast response speed of 1.01 s/0.06 s,and favorable stability.Notably,the ultrahigh responsivity of β-Ga_(2)O_(3)-film-based devices was approximately 222-fold higher than that of ε-Ga_(2)O_(3) film-based devices.The assembled 4×5 β-Ga_(2)O_(3) film-based PDAs exhibited favorable uniformity,repeatability,and high spatial resolution for solarblind imaging.Our study offers a promising approach for the development of high-performance β-Ga_(2)O_(3)-based PDAs for solarblind ultraviolet imaging with potential applications in both military and civilian fields.ZHENG QiQi CHEN LingRui LI XuDong DING Ke PANG Di LI HongLin XIONG YuanQiang RUAN HaiBo FANG Liang LI WanJun YE LiJuan ZHANG Hong KONG ChunYang 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,9:0
16Safety and feasibility of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal and gastric cancer under the Chinese multi-site practice policy:admittance standards of competence are needed显示文摘Background:The multi-site practice(MSP)policy has been practiced in China over 10 years.This study aimed to investigate the safety and feasibility of performing laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer(LSCRC)and gastric cancer(LSGC)under the Chinese MSP policy.Methods:We collected and analysed the data from 1,081 patients who underwent LSCRC or LSGC performed by one gastrointestinal surgeon in his original hospital(n=573)and his MSP institutions(n=508)between January 2017 and December 2020.Baseline demographics,intraoperative outcomes,post-operative recovery,and pathological results were compared between the original hospital and MSP institutions,as well as between MSP institutions with and without specific competence(surgical skill,operative instrument,perioperative multi-discipline team).Results:In our study,690 patients underwent LSCRC and 391 patients underwent LSGC.The prevalence of post-operative complications was comparable for LSCRC(11.5%vs 11.1%,P=0.89)or LSGC(15.2%vs 12.6%,P=0.46)between the original hospital and MSP institutions.However,patients in MSP institutions without qualified surgical assistant(s)and adequate instruments experienced longer operative time and greater intraoperative blood loss.The proportion of patients with inadequate lymph-node yield was significantly higher in MSP institutions than in the original hospital for both LSCRC(11.5%vs 21.2%,P<0.01)and LSGC(9.8%vs 20.5%,P<0.01).Conclusion:For an experienced gastrointestinal surgeon,performing LSCRC and LSGC outside his original hospital under the MSP policy is safe and feasible,but relies on the precondition that the MSP institutions are equipped with qualified surgical skills,adequate operative instruments,and complete perioperative management.Zhenghao Cai Haiqin Song Zhenfeng Huang Abraham Fingerhut Ximo Xu Hao Zhong Zhigang Li Yingjie Zhang Dachong Sha Dandan Bao Haibo Wang Binghua Cai Shangbo Hua Yanhui Zhang Jianguang Sun Ke Ye Jianwen Li Yong Lu Bo Feng 2022Gastroenterology Report2022,10,1:0
17Intensified Impact of the Equatorial QBO in August–September on the Northern Stratospheric Polar Vortex in December–January since the Late 1990s显示文摘This study reveals an intensified impact of the equatorial quasi-biennial oscillation(QBO)in August–September(QBO_AS)on the northern stratospheric polar vortex(SPV)in December–January(SPV_DJ)since the late 1990s.The unstable relationship may be related to the differences in the deep convection anomaly over the tropical western Pacific and Indian Oceans in October–November(ON)related to the QBO_AS prior to and after the late 1990s.During 1998–2017,the easterly phase of the QBO_AS is accompanied by a colder tropical tropopause in ON,which enhances the deep convective activity over the tropical western Pacific and suppresses it over the Indian Ocean.The deep convection anomaly generates anomalous Rossby waves that propagate into the northern mid-to-high latitudes to constructively interfere with the climatological wavenumber-1 and wavenumber-2 components,thereby resulting in enhanced upward-propagating tropospheric planetary-scale waves and a weakened SPV_DJ anomaly.During1979–1997,however,the deep convection anomaly over the tropical western Pacific and Indian Oceans in ON related to the easterly phase of the QBO_AS is weaker and shifts eastward,which excites the anomalous Rossby waves to constructively/destructively interfere with the climatological wavenumber-1 component in the midlatitudes/high latitudes,thereby weakening the upward-propagating planetary-scale waves and leading to a weaker linkage with the SPV_DJ.Further analyses reveal that the unstable relationship may be associated with the interdecadal differences in deep convection over the tropical western Pacific and Indian Oceans and the upward-propagating tropospheric planetary-scale waves in ON.Haibo ZHOU Ke FAN 2022Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,5:0

205-25 Application of the DRS Chip for Fast Waveform Digitizing显示文摘The maximum information of a pulse from a detector can be acquired by digitizing a fast signal directly. Analternative to flash ADCs is the usage of SCA (switched-capacitor arrays)[1??2]. The input signal is sampled andstored in a series of capacitors at high sample rates under the control of a shift register, and digitized with acommercial ADC operating at lower sample rate. The DRS (Domino Ring Sample) chip developed by the PaulScherrer Institute, Switzerland, has been designed for maximum flexibility. We choose DRS4 chip to design awaveform sampling digitizing board. Each DRS4 chip contains 9 channels, and there are 1 024 sampling capacitorsin each channel. The Domino wave is generated by a series of inverters, whose speed is controlled by an analoguevoltage. The DRS4 waveform digitizing board records the input signal with a high sample rate between 0.7 and 5GS/s.
