1Perovskite light-emitting/detecting bifunctional fibres for wearable LiFi communication显示文摘Light fidelity(LiFi),which is emerging as a compelling technology paradigm shifting the common means of highcapacity wireless communication technologies,requires wearable and full-duplex compact design because of its great significance in smart wearables as well as the‘Internet of Things’.However,the construction of the key component of wearable full-duplex LiFi,light-emitting/detecting bifunctional fibres,is still challenging because of the conflicting process between carrier separation and recombination,as well as the highly dynamic film-forming process.Here,we demonstrate light-emitting/detecting bifunctional fibres enabled by perovskite QDs with hybrid components.The hybrid perovskite inks endow fibres with super-smooth QD films.This,combined with the small exciton binding energy and high carrier mobility of perovskite QDs,enables successful integration of electroluminescence and photodetection into monofilaments.The bifunctional fibres possess the narrowest electroluminescence full width at half maximum of ~19 nm and,more importantly,the capability for simultaneously transmitting and receiving information.The successful fabrication of narrow emission full-duplex LiFi fibres paves the way for the fabrication and integration of low crosstalk interoperable smart wearables.Qingsong Shan Changting Wei Yan Jiang Jizhong Song Yousheng Zou Leimeng Xu Tao Fang Tiantian Wang Yuhui Dong Jiaxin Liu Boning Han Fengjuan Zhang Jiawei Chen Yongjin Wang Haibo Zeng 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:7
2Improved Algorithms for Removing Isolated Non-Meteorological Echoes and Ground Clutters in CINRAD显示文摘Using China New Generation Weather Radar(CINRAD) level-II data, the original algorithms for removing isolated non-meteorological echoes and ground clutters in radar data, which have been applied to Weather Surveillance Radar-1988 Doppler(WSR-88 D) in the USA and Severe Weather Automatic Nowcast(SWAN) system in China, are modified and improved. To remove isolated non-meteorological echoes, the new algorithm introduces a constraint parameter(Po) to distinguish whether a window of 5 × 5 points is isolated as external echoes. A statistical analysis of150 radar scans(5 cases, with each case comprising 30 scans) under three different echo types(small-scale convection, typhoon, and large-scale synoptic system) shows that the constraint parameter Po ≤ 0.167 is suitable for removing isolated non-meteorological echoes while preserving the edge of meteorological echoes. A new parameter, NDZ,which promotes the ability of the algorithm to identify the ground clutters appearing at two adjacent elevation angles,is constructed based on the vertical continuity of reflectivity. These improved algorithms are tested for four cases(three cases of isolated non-meteorological echoes and one case of ground clutters). Based on the statistics of 232 volume scans of radar data(on a temporal resolution of 1 h) measured at Nanchang station from 0000 UTC 5 to 1600 UTC 14 March 2015, it is found that the improved algorithms not only eliminate most(over 95% under clear-sky conditions) of the isolated non-meteorological echoes and ground clutters(including those appearing at two adjacent elevation angles), but also well preserve the structure of meteorological echoes(storms).Haibo ZOU Shuwen ZHANG Xudong LIANG Xueting YI 2018Journal of Meteorological Research2018,32,4:6
3Analysis of a Convective Storm Crossing Poyang Lake in China显示文摘A convective storm crossing Poyang Lake(PL)in China during 1200-1600 UTC on 13 May 2015 is examined.The results show that this storm occurs ahead of a 500-hPa trough with weak low-level temperature advection and a convectively stable layer between 925 and 850 hPa,and the tail of the storm is enhanced when its spearhead sweeps over PL after the sunset.Due to the heating and moistening of PL,the convectively stable layer over PL is destabilized;and instead,a deep(below 700 hPa)convectively unstable layer is organized.Moreover,both the radiative cooling and the storm-induced cooling result in a rapid air(near-surface)and land temperature decrease in the surrounding areas.Thus,a large lake-land temperature difference(about 6℃)occurs,which is conducive to generating land-lake breeze and enhancing the convergence of the low-level wind.Finally,the PL-induced deep convectively unstable layer and the enhanced low-level convergence jointly strengthen the crossing storm.To further confirm this,two simulations(with or without PL)are conducted with the Weather Research and Forecast(WRF)model.The simulation with PL successfully reproduces the evolution of the storm crossing PL,while the simulation without PL fails.In the simulation with PL,a highμse tongue at 850 hPa associated with the storm moves eastward and downward,and merges with the PL-induced lake boundary layer,forming a deep convectively unstable layer under 700 hPa.However,in the simulation without PL,the stable layer constantly maintains under 900 hPa.In addition,the 900-hPa wind difference between the simulations with and without PL shows a land-lake breeze circulation that strengths the convergence of the low-level wind.Haibo ZOU Shuwen ZHANG Yanan LIU Weidong ZHANG Xixi YANG 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:3
4Prostate cancer tends to metastasize in the bone-mimicking microenvironment via activating NF-κB signaling显示文摘Prostate cancer preferentially metastasizes to the bone. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms are still unclear. To explore the effects of a bone-mimicking microenvironment on PC3 prostate cancer cell growth and metastasis, we used osteoblast differentiation medium(ODM; minimal essential medium alpha supplemented with L-ascorbic acid) to mimic the bone microenvironment. PC3 cells grown in ODM underwent epithelial-mesenchymal transition and showed enhanced colony formation, migration, and invasion abilities compared to the cells grown in normal medium. PC3 cells grown in ODM showed enhanced metastasis when injected in mice. A screening of signaling pathways related to invasion and metastasis revealed that the NF-κB pathway was activated, which could be reversed by Bay 11-7082, a NF-κB pathway inhibitor. 5High-definition colorful perovskite narrowband photodetector array enabled by laser-direct-writing显示文摘Narrowband photodetectors as specific spectral sensing pixels have drawn intense attention in multispectral detection due to their distinct characteristic of filter-free spectrum discrimination,in which the emerging halide lead perovskites witness a booming development in their performance and wavelength-selectivity from blue to near-infrared light.However,the challenge in integrating perovskite narrowband photodetectors on one chip imposes an impediment on practical application.In this work,the combination of laser-direct-writing and ion exchange is proposed as an efficient way to fabricate high-definition colorful sensing array with perovskite narrowband photodetector unit as pixel.Under laser irradiation,the photolysis of halocarbon solvent(CHCl_(3),CH_(3)CH_(2)I,etc)releases the halide ions,which brings the ion exchange and gives rise to slow-varying bandgap in single perovskite photoactive film.This ion exchange can be controlled via laser irradiation time and focus point,thus enabling precisely engineerable bandgap.By optimizing the process,it is successfully applied to develop patterned perovskite narrow blue and green photodetectors array with a high-definition of~53 ppi.We believe this result will make a great step forward to integrate multifunctional perovskite devices on one chip,which will pave the way for perovskite optoelectronic device to the commercial application.Xiaobao Xu Yuhang Dong Yuanzhou Zhang Zeyao Han Jiaxin Liu Dejian Yu Yi Wei Yousheng Zou Bo Huang Jun Chen Haibo Zeng 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:2
6Techniques for postmortem tenderisation in meat processing:effectiveness,application and possible mechanisms显示文摘Developing efficient and promising tenderising techniques for postmortem meat is a heavily researched topic among meat scientists as consumers are willing to pay more for guaranteed tender meat.However,emerging tenderising techniques are not broadly used in the meat industry and,to some degree,are controversial due to lack of theoretical support.Thus,understanding the mechanisms involved in postmortem tenderisation is essential.This article first provides an overview of the relationship of ageing tenderisation and calpain system,as well as proteomics applied to identify protein biomarkers characterizing tenderness.In general,the ageing tenderisation is mediated by multiple biochemical activities,and it can exhibit better palatability and commercial benefit by combining other interventions.The calpain system plays a key role in ageing tenderisation functions by rupturing myofibrils and regulating proteolysis,glycolysis,apoptosis and metabolic modification.Additionally,tenderising techniques from different aspects including exogenous enzymes,chemistry,physics and the combined methods are discussed in depth.Particularly,innovation of home cooking could be recommended to prepare relatively tender meat due to its convenience and ease of operation by consumers.Furthermore,the combined interventions provide better performance in controlled tenderness.Finally,future trends in developing new tenderising techniques,and applied consideration in the meat processing industry are proposed in order to improve meat quality with higher economical value.Haibo Shi Fereidoon Shahidi Jiankang Wang Yan Huang Ye Zou Weimin Xu Daoying Wang 2021Food Production, Processing and Nutrition2021,3,1:2
7Fabrication of Waterproof Artificial Compound Eyes with Variable Field of View Based on the Bioinspiration from Natural Hierarchical Micro–Nanostructures显示文摘Planar and curved microlens arrays(MLAs)are the key components of miniaturized microoptical systems.In order to meet the requirements for advanced and multipurpose applications in microoptical field,a simple manufacturing method is urgently required for fabricating MLAs with unique properties,such as waterproofness and variable field-of-view(FOV)imaging.Such properties are beneficial for the production of advanced artificial compound eyes for the significant applications in complex microcavity environments with high humidity,for instance,miniature medical endoscopy.However,the simple and effective fabrication of advanced artificial compound eyes still presents significant challenges.In this paper,bioinspired by the natural superhydrophobic surface of lotus leaf,we propose a novel method for the fabrication of waterproof artificial compound eyes.Electrohydrodynamic jet printing was used to fabricate hierarchical MLAs and nanolens arrays(NLAs)on polydimethylsiloxane film.The flexible film of MLAs hybridized with NLAs exhibited excellent superhydrophobic property with a water contact angle of 158°.The MLAs film was deformed using a microfluidics chip to create artificial compound eyes with variable FOV,which ranged from 0°to 160°.Peilin Zhou Haibo Yu Ya Zhong Wuhao Zou Zhidong Wang Lianqing Liu 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,12:2
8Preparation and characterization of dense lanthanum-doped bismuth titanate ceramics显示文摘In this work, we present an effective way to increase the density of lanthanum-doped bismuth titanate ceramics (Bi4?xLaxTi3O12; BLT). Dense BLT ceramics with formula Bi4?xLaxTi3O12 (when x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0) are prepared by using nanocrystalline powders fabricated by the sol-gel method and high-pressure technique. The thermal decomposition and phase transformation process of the gel precursors are studied by using DTA, infrared spectroscopy (IRS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microstructures of BLT ceramics are investigated by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The experimental results indicate that the phase compositions of all samples with various La substitutes at 900°C possess the layer-structure of Bi4Ti3O12 (BTO). The green pellets are pressed under 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 GPa, separately. It is found that the density of BLT ceramics is significantly increased due to the decreasing of porosity in the green compacts by the high-pressure process. The samples are sintered at temperatures between 900 and 1100°C and it is found that the optimum sintering temperature is 1100°C. 17Radar Quantitative Precipitation Estimation Based on the Gated Recurrent Unit Neural Network and Echo-Top Data显示文摘The Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU) neural network has great potential in estimating and predicting a variable. In addition to radar reflectivity(Z), radar echo-top height(ET) is also a good indicator of rainfall rate(R). In this study, we propose a new method, GRU_Z-ET, by introducing Z and ET as two independent variables into the GRU neural network to conduct the quantitative single-polarization radar precipitation estimation. The performance of GRU_Z-ET is compared with that of the other three methods in three heavy rainfall cases in China during 2018, namely, the traditional Z-R relationship(Z=300R1.4), the optimal Z-R relationship(Z=79R1.68) and the GRU neural network with only Z as the independent input variable(GRU_Z). The results indicate that the GRU_Z-ET performs the best, while the traditional Z-R relationship performs the worst. The performances of the rest two methods are similar.To further evaluate the performance of the GRU_Z-ET, 200 rainfall events with 21882 total samples during May–July of 2018 are used for statistical analysis. Results demonstrate that the spatial correlation coefficients, threat scores and probability of detection between the observed and estimated precipitation are the largest for the GRU_Z-ET and the smallest for the traditional Z-R relationship, and the root mean square error is just the opposite. In addition, these statistics of GRU_Z are similar to those of optimal Z-R relationship.
