1Superhydrophobic modification of ceramic membranes for vacuum membrane distillation显示文摘The hydrophobically modi fied ceramic membranes have great potential for energy-ef ficient membrane distillation.In this work,flat-sheet ceramic membranes with a superhydrophobic surface were fabricated by grafting 1H,1H,2H,2H-per fluorooctyltrichlorosilane or 1H,1H,2H,2H-per fluorodecyltriethoxysilane and followed by ultraviolet irradiation.The surface water contact angle was improved from 46° of original ceramic membrane to 159°,which exhibited a stable and excellent superhydrophobic effect.The modi fied membranes showed a high flux of 27.28 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) and simultaneously maintained an excellent retention rate of 99.99%,when used in vacuum membrane distillation process for treatment of a 1 wt% NaCl(75 °C) aqueous solution.These results suggested that superhydrophobic modi fication of ceramic surface is a facile and cost-effective way to achieve higher membrane distillation performance.The superhydrophobically-modi fied ceramic membrane with an excellent desalination capacity would show considerable potential in practical membrane distillation utilizations.Yanhui Yang Qianqian Liu Haizhi Wang Fusheng Ding Guoshan Jin Chunxi Li Hong Meng 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,10:9
2Experimental observation of coherent interaction between laser and erbium ions ensemble doped in fiber at sub 10 mK显示文摘Rare-earth ions doped in solid-state materials are considered promising candidates for quantum information applications,especially for photonic quantum memory.Among them,erbium ions doped in an optical fiber have attracted a lot of attentions due to their ability to provide efficient photon-atom interaction on a telecom-C band compatible transition.The coherent photon-atom interaction,which is crucial for quantum memory,has not yet been investigated for erbium ions doped in fiber at the temperature of sub 10 m K with the magnetic environment.In this paper,we experimentally observe optical nutation,which results from the coherent interaction between laser and erbium ions ensemble,in a piece of 9.5-m-long fiber with the erbium concentration of 200 ppm.We also extract the transition dipole moment from the results of optical nutation and further investigate its dependence on laser wavelength and magnetic field.A transition dipole moment of(3.424±0.019)×10^-32 C·m is obtained at the wavelength of 1537 nm and magnetic field of 0.2 T.Our results could pave the way for realizing solid-state quantum networks at telecom-C band.Qi XI Shihai WEI Chenzhi YUAN Xueying ZHANG You WANG Haizhi SONG Guangwei DENG Bo JING Daniel OBLAK Qiang ZHOU 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,8:3
3Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Wear-Resistant As-Cast Alloyed Bainite Ductile Iron显示文摘An as-cast bainite ductile iron with excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance was fabricated by alloying and centrifugal casting method, and the alloyed chemical composition was optimized by using the thermodynamic software Thermo-Calc. By using optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction, the microstructure of the as-fabricated bainite ductile cast iron was characterized pertinent to the elements distribution in matrix and features of ferrite and retained austenite. The results of mechanical properties test show that the hardness and compressive strength of this alloyed ductile iron are 52 HRC and 2,200 MPa, respectively. The ascast bainite ductile iron possesses highly abrasive wear resistance and the reason can be ascribed to the solid solution of the elements Si, Ni, Cu, and Mn in the austenite and the formation of carbides of elements Cr and Mo. 4Targeting lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) exerts antileukemic effects on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia显示文摘Background:T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(T-ALL)is an uncommon and aggressive subtype of acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL).In the serum of T-ALL patients,the activity of lactate dehydrogenase A(LDHA)is increased.We proposed that targeting LDHA may be a potential strategy to improve T-ALL outcomes.The current study was conducted to investigate the antileukemic effect of LDHA gene-targeting treatment on T-ALL and the underlying molecular mechanism.Methods:Primary T-ALL cell lines Jurkat and DU528 were treated with the LDH inhibitor oxamate.MTT,colony formation,apoptosis,and cell cycle assays were performed to investigate the effects of oxamate on T-ALL cells.Quantitative real-time PCR(qPCR)and Western blotting analyses were applied to determine the related signaling pathways.A mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(ROS)assay was performed to evaluate ROS production after T-ALL cells were treated with oxamate.A T-ALL transgenic zebrafish model with LDHA gene knockdown was established using CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology,and then TUNEL,Western blotting,and T-ALL tumor progression analyses were conducted to investigate the effects of LDHA gene knockdown on T-ALL transgenic zebrafish.Results:Oxamate significantly inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis of Jurkat and DU528 cells.It also arrested Jurkat and DU528 cells in G0/G1 phase and stimulated ROS production(all P<0.001).Blocking LDHA significantly decreased the gene and protein expression of c-Myc,as well as the levels of phosphorylated serine/threonine kinase(AKT)and glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta(GSK-3β)in the phosphatidylinositol 3′-kinase(PI3K)signaling pathway.LDHA gene knockdown delayed disease progression and down-regulated c-Myc mRNA and protein expression in T-ALL transgenic zebrafish.Conclusion:Targeting LDHA exerted an antileukemic effect on T-ALL,representing a potential strategy for T-ALL treatment.Haizhi Yu Yafei Yin Yifang Yi Zhao Cheng Wenyong Kuang Ruijuan Li Haiying Zhong Yajuan Cui Lingli Yuan Fanjie Gong Zhihua Wang Heng Li Hongling Peng Guangsen Zhang 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,10:2

15Fully Coupled Time-Domain Simulation of Dynamic Positioning Semi-Submersible Platform Using Dynamic Surface Control显示文摘A fully coupled 6-degree-of-freedom nonlinear dynamic model is presented to analyze the dynamic response of a semi-submersible platform which is equipped with the dynamic positioning(DP) system. In the control force design, a dynamic model of reference linear drift frequency in the horizontal plane is introduced. The dynamic surface control(DSC) is used to design a control strategy for the DP. Compared with the traditional back-stepping methods, the dynamic surface control combined with radial basis function(RBF) neural networks(NNs) can avoid differentiating intermediate variables repeatedly in every design step due to the introduction of a first order filter. Low frequency motions obtained from total motions by a low pass filter are chosen to be the inputs for the RBF NNs which are used to approximate the low frequency wave force. Considering the propellers' wear and tear, the effect of filtering frequencies for the control force is discussed. Based on power consumptions and positioning requirements, the NN centers are determined. Moreover, the RBF NNs used to approximate the total wave force are built to monitor the disturbances.
