Mechanism for the formation of the January 2013 heavy haze pollution episode over central and eastern China显示文摘In January 2013,a long-lasting episode of severe haze occurred in central and eastern China, and it attracted attention from all sectors of society. The process and evolution of haze pollution episodes were observed by the'Forming Mechanism and Control Strategies of Haze in China'group using an intensive aerosol and trace gases campaign that simultaneously obtained data at 11 ground-based observing sites in the CARE-China network. The characteristics and formation mechanism of haze pollution episodes were discussed.Five haze pollution episodes were identified in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(Jing-Jin-Ji)area;the two most severe episodes occurred during 9–15 January and 25–31 January.During these two haze pollution episodes, the maximum hourly PM2.5mass concentrations in Beijing were 680 and 530μg m 3,respectively.The process and evolution of haze pollution episodes in other major cities in the Jing-Jin-Ji area, such as Shijiazhuang and Tianjin were almost the same as those observed in Beijing. The external cause of the severe haze episodes was the unusual atmospheric circulation, the depression of strong cold air activities and the very unfavorable dispersion due to geographical and meteorological conditions. However, the internal cause was the quick secondary transformation of primary gaseous pollutants to secondary aerosols, which contributed to the'explosive growth'and'sustained growth'of PM2.5.Particularly,the abnormally high amount of nitric oxide(NOx)in the haze episodes, produced by fossil fuel combustion and vehicle emissions, played a direct or indirect role in the quick secondary transformation of coal-burning sulphur dioxide(SO2)to sulphate aerosols.Furthermore, gaseous pollutants were transformed into secondary aerosols through heterogeneous reactions on the surface of fine particles, which can change the particle’s size and chemical composition.Consequently, the proportion of secondary inorganic ions, such as sulphate and nitrate, gradually increased, which enhances particle hygroscopicity and thereby accelerating formation of the haze pollution. | WANG YueSi YAO Li WANG LiLi LIU ZiRui JI DongSheng TANG GuiQian ZHANG JunKe SUN Yang HU Bo XIN JinYuan | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,1: | 189

How many sutures in the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Insights from East Xinjiang-West Gansu(NW China)?显示文摘How ophiolitic mèlanges can be defined as sutures is controversial with regard to accretionary orogenesis and continental growth. The Chinese Altay,East junggar,Tianshan, and Beishan belts of the southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB) in Northwest China, offer a special natural laboratory to resolve this puzzle. In the Chinese Altay, the Erqis unit consists of ophiolitic melanges and coherent assemblages, forming a Paleozoic accretionary complex. At least two ophiolitic melanges(Armantai, and Kelameili) in East Junggar, characterized by imbricated ophiolitic melanges,Nb-enriched basalts, adakitic rocks and volcanic rocks, belong to a Devonian-Carboniferous intra-oceanic island arc with some Paleozoic ophiolites, superimposed by Permian arc volcanism. In the Tianshan, ophiolitic melanges like Kanggurtag,North Tianshan, and South Tianshan occur as part of some Paleozoic accretionary complexes related to amalgamation of arc terranes. In the Beishan there are also several ophiolitic melanges, including the Hongshishan,Xingxingxia-Shibangjing,Hongliuhe-Xichangjing,and Liuyuan ophiolitic units. Most ophiolitic melanges in the study area are characterized by ultramafic, mafic and other components, which are juxtaposed,or even emplaced as lenses and knockers in a matrix of some coherent units. The tectonic settings of various components are different, and some adjacent units in the same melange show contrasting different tectonic settings. The formation ages of these various components are in a wide spectrum, varying from Neoproterozoic to Permian. Therefore we cannot assume that these ophiolitic melanges always form in linear sutures as a result of the closure of specific oceans.Often the ophiolitic components formed either as the substrate of intra-oceanic arcs,or were accreted as lenses or knockers in subduction-accretion complexes.Using published age and paleogeographic constraints,we propose the presence of (1) a major early Paleozoic tectonic boundary that separates the Chinese Altay-East Junggar multiple subduction systems of the southern Siberian active margin from those of the northern Tarim;and (2) a major Permian suture zone that separates the Tianshan-Beishan from the northern active margin of the Tarim Craton. These new observations and interpretations have broad implications for the architecture and crustal growth of central Asia and other ancient orogens as well. | Wenjiao Xiao Chunming Han Wei Liu Bo Wan Ji'en Zhang Songjian Ao Zhiyong Zhang Dongfang Song Zhonghua Tian Jun Luo | 2014 | Geoscience Frontiers2014,5,4: | 31
Variability and reduction of atmospheric pollutants in Beijing and its surrounding area during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games显示文摘The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Network was established by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences. The goals of the network were to monitor and provide warnings of the atmospheric quality in Beijing and its surrounding area during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The results showed that the atmospheric complex pollution exhibited high concentrations of ozone and fine particles and oxidation in summer, with a ubiquitous regional source. The regional mean concentrations of SO2,PM2.5,NO2,and O3_8h max(the maximum daily 8 h mean) and Ox were 22±11,90±40,25±5,136±35 and 112±21 μg/m3 in summer, respectively.During the Olympic Games, the mean concentration of SO2,PM2.5,NO2,O3_8h max,and Ox were 12.5±4,56±28,23±4,114±29,95±17 μg/m3 in the region, respectively, and fell by 51.0%,43.7%,13%,20.2%,and 18.9%,respectively,compared to the prophase mean before the Olympic Games. The concentration of atmospheric pollutants declined significantly and achieved the 'Green Olympics' control goal of air quality. After the Olympic Games,SO2,PM2.5 and NOx increased significantly as the temporary atmospheric pollution control measures were terminated. | XIN JinYuan WANG YueSi TANG GuiQian WANG LiLi SUN Yang WANG YingHong HU Bo SONG Tao JI DongSheng WANG WeiFeng LI Liang LIU GuangRen | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18: | 30
Lung transplantation in China between 2015 and 2018显示文摘Background:Lung transplantation(LT)has been demonstrated as the only effective therapy for patients with end-stage lung diseases.Increasing listed lung transplant candidates and expanding volumes of lung transplant centers across China require wellorganized programs and registry data collection based on the large population. This study aimed to summarize and analyze the data of LT development in China. Methods:We retrospectively collected and analyzed data from the China Lung Transplantation Registry(CLuTR).Key data were reported from the registry with transplant types, indications, donor and recipient characteristics, outcomes and survival. The survival<30 days,1-year and 3-year survival rates were estimated with risk factors identified. Results:CLuTR contained data from 1053 lung transplants performed through January 1st,2015 to December 31st,2018 reported by 18 registered transplant centers. The largest category of diagnosis before transplantation was idiopathic interstitial pneumonitis. The total<30 days,1-year and 3-year survival rates in CLuTR were 81.45%,70.11%,and 61.16%with discrepancy by indications.Large proportion of recipients who were more than 60 years old required higher standard of care.Infection-related complications resulted in more death events in the early post-surgery periods.New York Heart Association grading at listing,extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation usage peri-transplantation,allograft dysfunction(primary graft dysfunction>Grade 0),renal insufficiency(estimated glomerular filtration rate<60 mL min_11.73 m^2),were independently associated with a higher risk for 3-year mortality in the entire cohort. Conclusions:Facing more end-stage of lung diseases and comorbidities, this study analyzed the outcomes and survival of LT recipients in China.Further prospectively stratified analyses with longer follow-up will be needed. | Chun-Xiao Hu Wen-Hui Ghen Jian-Xing He Ge-Ning Jiang Xiao-Shan Li Dong Wei Bo Wu Ji Zhang Chen Wang Jing-Yu Chen | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,23: | 25

Breast cancer development and progression:Risk factors, cancer stem cells, signaling pathways, genomics, and molecular pathogenesis显示文摘As the most commonly occurring cancer in women worldwide, breast cancer poses a formidable public health challenge on a global scale.Breast cancer consists of a group of biologically and molecularly heterogeneous diseases originated from the breast. While the risk factors associated with this cancer varies with respect to other cancers, genetic predisposition, most notably mutations in BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene,is an important causative factor for this malignancy.Breast cancers can begin in different areas of the breast, such as the ducts, the lobules,or the tissue in between.Within the large group of diverse breast carcinomas, there are various denoted types of breast cancer based on their invasiveness relative to the primary tumor sites. It is important to distinguish between the various subtypes because they have different prognoses and treatment implications. As there are remarkable parallels between normal development and breast cancer progression at the molecular level,it has been postulated that breast cancer may be derived from mammary cancer stem cells.Normal breast development and mammary stem cells are regulated by several signaling pathways, such as estrogen receptors(ERs),HER2,and Wnt/b-catenin signaling pathways, which control stem cell proliferation, cell death, cell differentiation, and cell motility.Furthermore, emerging evidence indicates that epigenetic regulations and noncoding RNAs may play important roles in breast cancer development and may contribute to the heterogeneity and metastatic aspects of breast cancer, especially for triple-negative breast cancer. This review provides a comprehensive survey of the molecular, cellular and genetic aspects of breast cancer. | Yixiao Feng Mia Spezia Shifeng Huang Chengfu Yuan Zongyue Zeng Linghuan Zhang Xiaojuan Ji Wei Liu Bo Huang Wenping Luo Bo Liu Yan Lei Scott Du Akhila Vuppalapati Hue H.Luu Rex C.Haydon Tong-Chuan He Guosheng Ren | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,2: | 24
Small molecule inhibitors targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway显示文摘Tumor cells form immune escape and subsequently obtain unlimited proliferation ability due to the abnormal immune surveillance mediated by immune checkpoints.Among this class of immune checkpoints,PD-1/PD-L1 was recognized as an anticancer drug target for many years, and so far, several monoclonal antibodies have achieved encouraging outcome in cancer treatment by targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway.Due to the inherent limitations of antibodies, the development of small molecule inhibitors based on PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway is gradually reviving in decades. In this review,we summarized a number of small molecule inhibitors based on three different therapeutic approaches interfering PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway:(1)blocking direct interaction between PD-1 and PD-L1;(2)inhibiting transcription and translation of PD-L1;and(3)promoting degradation of PD-L1 protein. The development of these small molecule inhibitors opens a new avenue for tumor immunotherapy based on PD-1/PD-L1 signaling pathway. | Qian Wu Li Jiang Si-cheng Li Qiao-jun He Bo Yang Ji Cao | 2021 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1: | 22
Anatomy of composition and nature of plate convergence: Insights for alternative thoughts for terminal India-Eurasia collision显示文摘The pattern and timing of collision between India and Eurasia have long been a major concern of the international community. However, no consensus has been reached hitherto. To explore and resolve the disagreements in the Himalayan study,in this paper we begin with the methodology and basic principles for the anatomy of composition and nature of convergent margins, then followed by an effort to conduct a similar anatomy for the India-Eurasia collision. One of the most common patterns of plate convergence involves a passive continental margin, an active continental margin and intra-oceanic basins together with accreted terranes in between. The ultimate configuration and location of the terminal suture zone are controlled by the basal surface of the accretionary wedge, which may show fairly complex morphology with Z-shape and fluctuant geometry. One plausible method to determine the terminal suture zone is to dissect the compositions and structures of active continental margins. It requires a focus on various tectonic elements belonging to the upper plate, such as accretionary wedges, high-pressure(HP)-ultra-high-pressure(UHP) metamorphic rocks, Barrovian-type metamorphic rocks and basement nappes, together with superimposed forearc basins.Such geological records can define the extreme limits and the intervening surface separating active margin from the passive one, thus offering a general sketch for the surface trace of the terminal suture zone often with a cryptic feature. Furthermore, the occurrence of the cryptic suture zone in depth may be constrained by geophysical data, which, in combination with outcrop studies of HP-UHP metamorphic rocks, enables us to outline the terminal suture zone. The southern part of the Himalayan orogen records complicated temporal and spatial features, which are hard to be fully explained by the classic 'two-plate-one-ocean' template, therefore re-anatomy of the compositions and nature for this region is necessitated. Taking advantage of the methodology and basic principles of plate convergence anatomy and synthesizing previous studies together with our recent research, we may gain new insights into the evolution of the Himalayan orogeny.(1) The Yarlung-Zangbo ophiolite is composed of multiple tectonic units rather than a single terminal suture zone, and a group of different tectonic units were juxtaposed against each other in the backstop of the Gangdese forearc.(2) The Tethyan Himalayan Sequence(THS) contains mélanges with typical block-in-matrix structures, uniform southwards paleocurrents and age spectra of detrital zircons typical of Eurasia continent. All of these facts indicate that the THS belonged to Eurasia plate before the terminal collision, emplaced in the forearc of the Gangdese arc.(3) The Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex(GHC) and Lesser Himalayan Sequence(LHS) comprise complex components including eclogites emplaced into the GHC and the upper part of the LHS. Judging from the fact that HP-UHP metamorphic rocks are exhumed and emplaced in the upper plate, the GHC and the upper part of the LHS where eclogite occur should be assigned to the upper plate, lying above the terminal subduction zone surface. It is the very surface along which the continuous subduction of the India subcontinent occurred, therefore acting as the terminal, cryptic suture. From the suture further southward, the bulk rock associations of the LHS and Sub-Himalayan Sequence(Siwalik) show little affinity of mélange, probably belonging to the foreland system of the India plate. By the anatomy of tectonic features of all the tectonic units in the Himalayan orogen as well as the ages of the subduction-accretion related deformation, we conclude that the terminal India-Eurasia collision occurred after 14 Ma, the timing of the metamorphism of the eclogites emplaced into the upper plate. The development of rifts stretching in N-S direction in Tibet and tectonic events with the transition from sinistral to dextral movements in shear zones, such as the Ailaoshan fault in East Tibet, can coordinately reflect the scale and geodynamic influence of the India-Eurasia convergence zone.By conducting a detailed anatomy of the southern Himalayas, we propose a new model for the final collision-accretion of the Himalayan orogeny. Our study indicates that the anatomy of structures, composition, and tectonic nature is the key to a better understanding of orogenic belts, which may apply to all the orogenic belts around the world. We also point out that several important issues regarding the detailed anatomy of the structures, compositions and tectonic nature of the Himalayan orogeny in future. | XIAO WenJiao AO SongJian YANG Lei HAN ChunMing WAN Bo ZHANG Ji'En ZHANG ZhiYong LI Rui CHEN ZhenYu SONG ShuaiHua | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,6: | 20
Tectonically deformed coal types and pore structures in Puhe and Shanchahe coal mines in western Guizhou显示文摘To evaluate the effect of tectonic deformation on coal reservoir properties, we provide an analysis of the types of tectonically deformed coal, macroand microscopic deformation and discuss pore structural characteristics and connectivity based on samples from the Puhe and Shanchahe coal mines. Our research shows that the tectonically deformed coal mostly includes cataclastic structural coal, mortar structural coal and schistose structural coal of a brittle deformation series. The major pore structures of different types of tectonically deformed coal are transitional pores and micropores. The pore volumes of macropores and visible fracture pores produced by structural deformations vary over a large range and increase with the intensity of tectonic deformation. Mesopores as connecting passages develop well in schistose structural coal. According to the shapes of intrusive mercury curves, tectonically deformed coal can be divided into parallel, open and occluded types. The parallel type has poor connectivity and is relatively closed; the open type reflects uniformly developed open pores with good connectivity while the occluded type is good for coalbed methane enrichment, but has poor connectivity between pores. | Li Ming Jiang Bo Lin Shoufa Wang Jilin Ji Mingjun Qu Zhenghui | 2011 | Mining Science and Technology2011,21,3: | 19

Association of Dietary Pattern during Pregnancy and Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: A Prospective Cohort Study in Northern China显示文摘Objective To examine the association of maternal dietary patterns during pregnancy with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) in northern China. Methods The dietary intakes of pregnant women were recorded twice by 24‐hour dietary recalls for three days prior to having been diagnosed with GDM, at 5‐15 and 24‐28 gestational weeks, respectively.GDM was diagnosed, and serum glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) was measured at 24‐28 weeks.Dietary patterns were assessed by factor analysis. The association of the dietary pattern with GDM and HbA1c was examined by multiple logistic models. Results Of 753 participants, 64(8.5%) were diagnosed with GDM. Four dietary patterns were identified: Western pattern(dairy, baked/fried food and white meat), traditional pattern(light‐colored vegetables, fine grain, red meat and tubers), mixed pattern(edible fungi, shrimp/shellfish and red meat)and prudent pattern(dark‐colored vegetables and deep‐sea fish). Compared with the prudent pattern, both the Western pattern and the traditional pattern were associated with an increased risk of GDM(a OR = 4.40, 95% CI: 1.58‐12.22; a OR = 4.88, 95% CI: 1.79‐13.32) and a high level of HbA1c(a OR = 12.37,95% CI: 1.47‐103.91; a OR = 26.23, 95% CI: 2.54‐270.74). Compared to the lowest quartile(Q), Q3 of the Western pattern scores and Q3‐Q4 of the traditional pattern scores were associated with a higher risk of GDM.Conclusion The consumption of the Western pattern or the traditional pattern during pregnancy may increase the risk of GDM. | DU Hong Yi JIANG Hong O Karmin CHEN Bo XU Lin Ji LIU Shu Ping YI Jian Ping HE Geng Sheng QIAN Xu | 2017 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,12: | 16
COVID-19 Outbreak Caused by Contaminated Packaging of Imported Cold-Chain Products—Liaoning Province,China,July 2020显示文摘Summary What is known about this topic?Few major outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)have occurred in China after major nonpharmaceutical interventions and vaccines have been deployed and implemented. However, sporadic outbreaks that had high possibility to be linked to cold chain products were reported in several cities of China..What is added by this report? In July 2020,a COVID-19 outbreak occurred in Dalian,China. The investigations of this outbreak strongly suggested that the infection source was from COVID-19 virus-contaminated packaging of frozen seafood during inbound unloading personnel contact. What are the implications for public health practice?Virus contaminated paper surfaces could maintain infectivity for at least 17–24 days at-25℃.Exposure to COVID-19 virus-contaminated surfaces is a potential route for introducing the virus to a susceptible population.Countries with no domestic transmission of COVID-19 should consider introducing prevention strategies for both inbound travellers and imported goods.Several measures to prevent the introduction of the virus via cold-chain goods can be implemented. | Huilai Ma1 Jianqun Zhang Ji Wang Ying Qin Cao Chen Yang Song Liang Wang Jun Meng Lingling Mao Fengqin Li Ning Li Jian Cai Yong Zhang Dayan Wang Yunting Xia Hong Wang Shaofeng Jiang Xiang Zhao Peihua Niu Wenjie Tan Tao Ma Yecheng Yao Naiying Mao Zhen Zhu Tianjiao Ji Qian Yang Baoying Huang Li Zhao Jianxing Yu Li Bai Shuangli Zhu Dongyan Wang Yan Zhang Yingwei Sun Mingchun Luan Yanhai Wang Haibo Sun Shihong Yang Zhijian Bo Xiang Ren Zhongjie Li George Fu Gao Wei Yao Wenqing Yao Zijian Feng Wenbo Xu | 2021 | China CDC weekly2021,3,21: | 16
Accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt:Advances and perspectives显示文摘As one of the largest Phanerozoic orogens in the world, the Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)is a natural laboratory for studies of continental dynamics and metallogenesis. This paper summarizes the research progresses of the accretionary processes and metallogenesis of the CAOB since the Peopled Republic of China was founded, and puts forward the prospect for future research.During the early period(1950s-1970s),several geological theories were applied to explain the geological evolution of Central Asia.In the early period of China's reform and opening-up,the plate tectonics theory was applied to explain the evolution of the northern Xinjiang and Xingmeng regions, and the opinion of subduction-collision between Siberian Kazakhstan and China-North Korea-Tarim plates was proposed. The idea of the Solonker-Yanbian suture zone was established. In the 1990s,the study of the CAOB entered a period of rapid development. One school of scholars including geologists from the former Soviet Union proposed a multi-block collision model for the assemblage of the CAOB.In contrast, another school of scholars, led by a Turkish geologist,Celal Sengor, proposed that the Altaids was formed through the growth and strike-slip duplicates of a single island arc,and pointed out that the Altaids is a special type of collisional orogen.During this period,Chinese geologists carried out a lot of pioneering researches on ophiolites and high-pressure metamorphic rocks in northern China, and confirmed the main suture zones accordingly. In 1999,the concept of'Central Asian metallogenic domain'was proposed, and it became one of the three major metallogenic domains in the world.Since the 21st century, given the importance for understanding continental accretion and metallogenic mechanism, the CAOB has become the international academic forefront.China has laid out a series of scientific research projects in Central Asia.A large number of important scientific research achievements have been spawned, including the tectonic attribution of micro-continents,timing and tectonic settings of ophiolites, magmatic arcs, identification and anatomy of accretionary wedges, regional metamorphism-deformation,(ultra)high-pressure metamorphism, ridge subduction plume-plate interaction archipelagic paleogeography and spatio-temporal framework of multiple accretionary orogeny, continental growth accretionary metallogenesis, structural superposition and transformation etc. These achievements have made important international influences. There still exist the following aspects that need further study:(1)Early evolution history and subduction initiation of the Paleo-Asian Ocean;(2)The accretionary mechanism of the extroversion Paleo-Asian Ocean;(3)The properties of the mantle of the Paleo-Asian Ocean and their spatiotemporal distribution;(4)The interaction between the Paleo-Asian Ocean and the Tethys Ocean;(5)Phanerozoic continental growth mechanism and its global comparison;(6)Accretionary metallogenic mechanism of the Central Asian metallogenic domain;and(7)Continental transformation mechanism. | Wenjiao XIAO Dongfang SONG Brian FWINDLEY Jiliang LI Chunming HAN Bo WAN Ji'en ZHANG Songjian AO Zhiyong ZHANG | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,3: | 16
Radiofrequency ablation for hepatic hemangiomas: A consensus from a Chinese panel of experts显示文摘Recent studies have shown that radiofrequency(RF) ablation therapy is a safe, feasible, and effective procedure for hepatic hemangiomas, even huge hepatic hemangiomas. RF ablation has the following advantages in the treatment of hepatic hemangiomas: minimal invasiveness, definite efficacy, high safety, fast recovery, relatively simple operation, and wide applicability. It is necessary to formulate a widely accepted consensus among the experts in China who have extensive expertise and experience in the treatment of hepatic hemangiomas using RF ablation, which is important to standardize the application of RF ablation for the management of hepatic hemangiomas, regarding the selection of patients with suitable indications to receive RF ablation treatment, the technical details of the techniques, therapeutic effect evaluations, management of complications, etc. A final consensus by a Chinese panel of experts who have the expertise of using RF ablation to treat hepatic hemangiomas was reached by means of literature review, comprehensive discussion, and draft approval. | Jun Gao Rui-Fang Fan Jia-Yin Yang Yan Cui Jian-Song Ji Kuan-Sheng Ma Xiao-Long Li Long Zhang Chong-Liang Xu Xin-Liang Kong Shan Ke Xue-Mei Ding Shao-Hong Wang Meng-Meng Yang Jin-Jin Song Bo Zhai Chun-Ming Nin Shi-Gang Guo Zong-Hai Xin Jun Lu Yong-Hong Dong Hua-Qiang Zhu Wen-Bing Sun | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,39: | 15

The main updates include a replacement of the water-only lake module by the common land model lake module(Co LM-lake) with a more realistic snow–ice–water–soil framework, a parameterization scheme for rice paddies added in the vegetation module, renewed parameterizations of snow cover fraction and snow surface albedo to accommodate the varied snow aging effect during different stages of a snow season, a revised parameterization to calculate the threshold temperature to initiate freeze(thaw) of soil water(ice) rather than being fixed at 0°C in BCC_AVIM1.0, a prognostic phenology scheme for vegetation growth instead of empirically prescribed dates for leaf onset/fall, and a renewed scheme to depict solar radiation transfer through the vegetation canopy. The above updates have been implemented in BCC_AVIM2.0 to serve as the land component of the BCC Climate System Model(BCC_CSM). Preliminary results of BCC_AVIM in the ongoing Land Surface, Snow, and Soil Moisture Model Intercomparison Project(LS3 MIP) of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6) show that the overall performance of BCC_AVIM2.0 is better than that of BCC_AVIM1.0 in the simulation of surface energy budgets at the seasonal timescale. Comparing the simulations of annual global land average before and after the updates in BCC_AVIM2.0 reveals that the bias of net surface radiation is reduced from-12.0 to-11.7 W m-2 and the root mean square error(RMSE) is reduced from 20.6 to 19.0 W m-2;the bias and RMSE of latent heat flux are reduced from 2.3 to-0.1 W m-2 and from 15.4 to14.3 W m-2, respectively;the bias of sensible heat flux is increased from 2.5 to 5.1 W m-2 but the RMSE is reduced from 18.4 to 17.0 W m-2. | Weiping LI Yanwu ZHANG Xueli SHI Wenyan ZHOU Anning HUANG Mingquan MU Bo QIU Jinjun JI | 2019 | Journal of Meteorological Research2019,33,5: | 14 |
