| 1 | Selective impairment in recognizing the familiarity of self faces in schizophrenia显示文摘The concept of self is a fundamental characteristic of the human mind,and the alteration of self is thought to be a core deficit of schizophrenia.Previous studies have demonstrated that patients with schizophrenia are deficient in self-face recognition.Because self faces are not only self-related but also highly familiar,it is unclear whether such deficit arises from the breakdown of the self-awareness or the failure of recognizing the familiarity of self faces.Here we directly tested these two alternatives by instructing patients with schizophrenia to recognize the identity of a morphed face created by blending face features between any of two identities from the self face,a familiar face,and a novel face.We found that there was no association between the recognition of the self and the recognition of the familiarity,suggesting these two component processes are independent in schizophrenia.Further,patients with schizophrenia were significantly worse in recognizing the familiarity of faces than normal participants,whereas no difference in the sense of self was found between the two groups.Taken together,our finding suggests that it is the sense of familiarity,not the sense of self,that is selectively impaired in self-face recognition in schizophrenia.Thus,our study challenges the hypothesis that the deficit in self-face recognition in schizophrenia reflects the breakdown of self-awareness. | ZHANG Lin ZHU Hong XU Miao JIA HongXiao LIU Jia | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012，57，15： | 9 |
| 2 | Substitute of Expensive Pt with Improved Electrocatalytic Performance and Higher Resistance to CO Poisoning for Methanol Oxidation: the Case of Synergistic Pt-Co_3O_4 Nanocomposite显示文摘In this paper, Pt-Co_3O_4 nanocomposite was synthesized by a sol gel process combined with electrodeposition method. Its electrocatalytic activity towards methanol oxidation was investigated at room temperature using cyclic voltammetry(CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and current density time curve. It is found that the resultant Pt-Co_3O_4 catalysts with minute amount of Pt exhibite attractive electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation reaction(MOR) but with a high resistance CO poisoning due to the synergistic effects from Pt and Co_3O_4. | 5 | Neuropsychological impairment: the disturbed effect of self-processing in patients with major depressive disorder显示文摘Neuropsychological impairment has long been established as a fundamental characteristic of depression,but a generally accepted, specific pattern of neuropsychological impairment has not been summarized. In this study,we examined the classic neuropsychological paradigm of self-face recognition, to explore whether the self was impaired in major depressive disorder(MDD). Eighteen MDD patients and 20 healthy subjects were recruited to participate in this study. By using a face morphing technique, we measured the size of processing bias in MDD patients during different face discrimination tasks relative to controls. Results of analysis of variance(ANOVA) showed a significant main effect of Group(F(1, 36)= 7.388, P =0.01). Subsequent independent t-tests further revealed that self bias(t = 2.636, P = 0.012) and self-recognition bias(t = 2.190, P = 0.035) observed in self-famous task and self-stranger task respectively for patients were significantly greater than that for controls. Both self-processing and selfrecognition were impaired in patients with MDD, indicating that MDD individuals might exist level of self-abnormalities. | 6 | Climate change in the Hongliujing area of Lop Nur over the past 200 years revealed by the stable oxygen isotopes of Tamarix cones显示文摘The layers of Tamarix cones within sedimentary deposits in arid regions have significant chronological and paleoenvironmental implications.Here,we compare the δ^(18)O values of Tamarix cones in the Hongliujing area of Lop Nur with meteorological data for the Ruoqiang meteorological station for 1960-2019 AD.Linear regression analysis was used to reconstruct the average temperature for April and the precipitation for November in the Hongliujing area over the past 200 years.The results showed that the δ^(18)O values were significantly negatively correlated with the temperature for February,April,May,August,December,and with the annual mean temperature;significantly negatively correlated with the precipitation for February and April;significantly negatively correlated with the sunshine hours for March and May;significantly positively correlated with the sunshine hours for February,July,August,October,and December,and with the annual mean values;and significantly correlated with the relative humidity for April,July,August,September,October,and November,and with the annual mean values.Based on the δ^(18)O record of the past 200 years,the Hongliujing area experienced two warm-wet periods(1874-1932 and 2004-2019 AD)and two cold-dry periods(1832–1873 and 1933-2003 AD).Thus,the climate was characterized by alternating warm-wet and cold-dry conditions.Wavelet analysis revealed three main cycles:45 years,29 years,and 14 years. | Zhiguang LI Yaqing DONG Haoyu ZHANG Hongxiao SUN Danyang JIA Shikai SONG Yuanjie ZHAO | 2023 | Frontiers of Earth Science2023，17，4： | 0 |
| 7 | Therapy of replenishing Yin and regulating Yang for manic episode in bipolar disorder:study protocol for a prospective,double-blind,randomized controlled trial显示文摘Bipolar disorder(BD) is a chronic and recurrent disorder characterized by biphasic mood episodes of mania or hypomania and depression.It affects more than 1% of the global population and is a leading cause of disability in young people.Currently available treatments for BD are still fairly limited in terms of efficacy,with high rates of non-adherence,non-response,and undesirable side effects.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has a long history and rich experience in stabilizing mania and improving quality of life.Aiming at rebalancing Yin and Yang in BD,therapy of replenishing Yin and regulating Yang(RYRY therapy) has been in clinical use for years in China.The present prospective,double-blind,randomized controlled trial is designed to investigate the efficacy and safety of RYRY therapy for bipolar mania and its possible mechanism from the point of regulating gut microbiota and anti-inflammation.A total of 60 eligible participants will be recruited from Beijing Anding Hospital.They will be randomized to either the study group or the control group in a ratio of 1∶1.Participants allocated to the study group will receive RYRY granule,while placebo granule will be applied in the control group.Participants in both groups will be prescribed conventional therapy for manic episode in BD.Four scheduled visits will be conducted over 4 weeks.Outcome measurements include Young Mania Rating Scale,TCM Symptom Pattern Rating Scale,Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale,levels of C-reactive protein,interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α and the gut microbial community profile of stool samples.Safety outcomes and adverse events will also be recorded.In this study,we set a number of scientific and objective assessments to evaluate the efficacy of RYRY therapy and study into its possible mechanism,hopefully offering clinicians an alternative approach to BD. | YANG Yang YUAN Haining JIA Hongxiao NING Yanzhe WANG Di ZHANG Lei YAN Kaijuan GUO Yumeng WANG Fei SUN Weishuang CHEN Pei | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023，43，3： | 0 |
