| 3 | Isolation and Characterization of Bacillus Amyloliquefaciens L-1 for Biocontrol of Pear Ring Rot显示文摘Considering the heavy losses caused by pear ring rot(Botryosphaeria berengeriana) disease, the potential biocontrol agent against B. berengeriana was isolated and characterized in this work. Bacteria, isolated from pear orchard rhizosphere soil, were screened for the biological control of pear ring rot caused by B. berengeriana. Among them, strain L-1 showed noticeable inhibitory activities against B. berengeriana and six other commonly occurring postharvest pathogens. Molecular methods indicated strain L-1 was Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The potential of strain L-1 as an effective biocontrol agent was further estimated. Results showed strain L-1 could successfully colonize in pear wounds, its colonies reached 142.35 folds on 4 days post inoculation, and maintained at a high level during storage. In addition, strain L-1 caused abnormal hyphae growth of B. berengeriana,and its inhibitory percentage against pear ring rot reached 76.55% in vivo on 11 days post inoculation. Strain L-1 significantly induced the peroxidase(POD) and catalase(CAT) activities and delayed the accumulation of malondialdehyde(MDA) in pears. What's more, strain L-1 did not impair the fruit quality. | 5 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Owing to their various compositi ons and tun able electronic properties, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have the great potential to realize high-efficiency catalysts for ORR. Here, various 3R-phase dichalcogenides of group VB and VIB transition metals (MX2, M = Nb, Ta, Mo, W;X = S, Se, Te) are investigated for ORR catalysts by using density functional theory calculations. The computed over-potentials of group VB TMDs are much less than those of group VIB TMDs. For group VB TMDs, a volcano-type plot of ORR catalytic activity is established on the adsorption energies of *OH, and NbS2 and TaTe2 exhibit best ORR activity with an oveepotential of 0.54 V. To achieve even better activity, strain engineering is performed to tune ORR catalytic activity, and the minimum over-potential of 0.43 V can be realized. | 10 | The IAA-and ABA-responsive transcription factor CgMYB58 upregulates lignin biosynthesis and triggers juice sac granulation in pummelo显示文摘In citrus,lignin overaccumulation in the juice sac results in granulation and an unpleasant fruit texture and taste.By integrating metabolic phenotyping and transcriptomic analyses,we found 702 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),including 24 transcription factors(TFs),to be significantly correlated with lignin content.CgMYB58 was further identified as a critical R2R3 MYB TF involved in lignin overaccumulation owing to its high transcript levels in Huanong Red-fleshed pummelo(HR,Citrus grandis)fruits.Transient expression of CgMYB58 led to an increase in the lignin content in the pummelo fruit mesocarp,whereas its stable overexpression significantly promoted lignin accumulation and upregulated 19 lignin biosynthetic genes.Among these genes,CgPAL1,CgPAL2,Cg4CL1,and CgC3H were directly modulated by CgMYB58 through interaction with their promoter regions.Moreover,we showed that juice sac granulation in pummelo fruits could be affected by indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)and abscisic acid(ABA)treatments.In HR pummelo,ABA significantly accelerated this granulation,whereas IAA effectively inhibited this process.Taken together,these results provide novel insight into the lignin accumulation mechanism in citrus fruits.We also revealed the theoretical basis via exogenous IAA application,which repressed the expression of CgMYB58 and its target genes,thus alleviating juice sac granulation in orchards. | Meiyan Shi Xiao Liu Haipeng Zhang Zhenyu He Hongbin Yang Jiajing Chen Jia Feng Wenhui Yang Youwu Jiang Jia-Long Yao Cecilia Hong Deng Juan Xu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |

| 13 | Enhanced efficiency of graphene-silicon Schottky junction solar cell through inverted pyramid arrays texturation显示文摘Nanostructures of silicon are gradually becoming hot candidate due to outstanding capability for trapping light and improving conversion efficiency of solar cell. In this paper, silicon nanowires(SiNWs) and silicon inverted pyramid arrays(SiIPs) were introduced on surface of Gr-Si solar cell through silver and copper-catalyzed chemical etching, respectively. The effects of SiNWs and SiIPs on carrier lifetime, optical properties and efficiency of Gr-SiNWs and Gr-SiIPs solar cells were systematically analyzed. The results show that the inverted pyramid arrays have more excellent ability for balancing antireflectance loss and surface area enlargement. The power conversion efficiency(PCE) and carrier lifetime of Gr-SiIPs devices respectively increase by 62% and 34% by comparing with that of Gr-SiNWs solar cells. Finally, the Gr-SiIPs cell with PCE of 5.63% was successfully achieved through nitric acid doping. | 16 | The Extra-Area Effect in 71 Cloud Seeding Operations during Winters of 2008–14 over Jiangxi Province, East China显示文摘Effects of weather modification operations on precipitation in target areas have been widely reported, but little is specifically known about the downwind (extra-area) effects in China. We estimated the extra-area effect of an operational winter (November-February) aircraft cloud-seeding project in northern Jiangxi Province in eastern China by using a revised historical target/control regression analysis method based on the precipitation data in winter. The results showed that the overall seasonal average rainfall at the downwind stations increased by 21.67%(p=0.0013). This enhancement effect was detected as far as 120 km away from the target area. Physical testing was used to compare the cloud characteristics before and after seeding on 29 November 2014. A posteriori analysis with respect to the characteristics of cloud units derived from operational weather radar data in Jiangxi was performed by tracking cloud units. Radar features in the target unit were enhanced relative to the control unit for more than two hours after the operational cloud seeding, which is indicative of the extra-area seeding effect. | 20 | Albumin-induced premature senescence in human renal proximal tubular cells and its relationship with intercellular fibrosis显示文摘The presence of senescent cells is associated with renal fibrosis.This study aims to investigate the effect of albumininduced premature senescence on tubulointerstitial fibrosis and its possible mechanism in vitro.Different concentrations of bovine serum albumim(BSA)with or without si-p21 are used to stimulate HK-2 cells for 72 h,and SA-β-gal activity,senescence-associated secretory phenotypes(SASPs),LaminB1 are used as markers of senescence.Immunofluorescence staining is performed to characterize the G2/M phase arrest between the control and BSA groups.Alterations in the DNA damage markerγ-H2AX,fibrogenesis,and associated proteins at the G2/M phase,such as p21,p-CDC25C and p-CDK1,are evaluated.Compared with those in the control group,the SA-β-gal activity,SASP,andγ-H2AX levels are increased in the BSA group,while the level of LaminB1 is decreased.Meanwhile,HK-2 cells blocked at the G2/M phase are significantly increased under the stimulation of BSA,and the levels of p21,p-CDC25C and p-CDK1,as well as fibrogenesis are also increased.When p21 expression is inhibited,the levels of p-CDC25C and p-CDK1 are decreased and the G2/M phase arrest is improved,which decreases the production of fibrogenesis.In conclusion,BSA induces renal tubular epithelial cell premature senescence,which regulates the G2/M phase through the CDC25C/CDK1 pathway,leading to tubulointerstitial fibrosis. | Wen Lu Shijing Ren Wenhui Dong Xiaomin Li Zongji Zheng Yijie Jia Yaoming Xue | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,7: | 1 |
