1Additive manufacturing of hydroxyapatite bioceramic scaffolds: Dispersion, digital light processing, sintering, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility显示文摘Hydroxyapatite(HA)bioceramic scaffolds were fabricated by using digital light processing(DLP)based additive manufacturing.Key issues on the HA bioceramic scaffolds,including dispersion,DLP fabrication,sintering,mechanical properties,and biocompatibility were discussed in detail.Firstly,the ffects of dispersant dosage,solid loading,and sintering temperature were studied.The optimal dispersant dosage,solid loading,and sintering temperature were 2wt%,50vol%,and 1250℃,respectively.Then,the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of the HA bioceramic scaffolds were investigated.The DLP-prepared porous HA bioceramic scaffold was found to exhibit excellent mechanical properties and degradation behavior.From this study,DLP technique shows good potential for manufacturing HA bioceramic scaffolds.Chengwei FENG Keqiang ZHANG Rujie HE Guojiao DING Min XIA Xinxin JIN Chen XIE 2020Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,3:12
2LncRNA DPP10-AS1 promotes malignant processes through epigenetically activating its cognate gene DPP10 and predicts poor prognosis in lung cancer patients显示文摘Objective:The purpose of this study was to explore the function and gene expression regulation of the newly identified lnc RNA DPP10-AS1 in lung cancer,and its potential value as a prognostic biomarker.Methods:q RT-PCR and Western blot were conducted to detect the expression of DDP10-AS1 and DPP10 in lung cancer cell lines and tissues.The effects of DDP10-AS1 on DPP10 expression,cell growth,invasion,apoptosis,and in vivo tumor growth were investigated in lung cancer cells by Western blot,rescue experiments,colony formation,flow cytometry,and xenograft animal experiments.Results:The novel antisense lnc RNA DPP10-AS1 was found to be highly expressed in cancer tissues(P<0.0001),and its upregulation predicted poor prognosis in patients with lung cancer(P=0.0025).Notably,DPP10-AS1 promoted lung cancer cell growth,colony formation,and cell cycle progression,and repressed apoptosis in lung cancer cells by upregulating DPP10 expression.Additionally,DPP10-AS1 facilitated lung tumor growth via upregulation of DPP10 protein in a xenograft mouse model.Importantly,DPP10-AS1 positively regulated DPP10 gene expression,and both were coordinately upregulated in lung cancer tissues.Mechanically,DPP10-AS1 was found to associate with DPP10 m RNA but did not enhance DPP10 m RNA stability.Hypomethylation of DPP10-AS1 and DPP10 contributed to their coordinate upregulation in lung cancer.Conclusions:These findings indicated that the upregulation of the antisense lnc RNA DPP10-AS1 promotes lung cancer malignant processes and facilitates tumorigenesis by epigenetically regulating its cognate sense gene DPP10.DPP10-AS1 may serve as a candidate prognostic biomarker and a potential therapeutic target in lung cancer.Haihua Tian Jinchang Pan Shuai Fang Chengwei Zhou Hui Tian Jinxian He Weiyu Shen Xiaodan Meng Xiaofeng Jin Zhaohui Gong 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:5

5Hierarchically mesoporous carbon spheres coated with a single atomic Fe-N-C layer for balancing activity and mass transfer in fuel cells显示文摘Novel cost-effective fuel cells have become more attractive due to the demands for rare and expensive platinum-group metal(PGM)catalysts for mitigating the sluggish kinetics of the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The high-cost PGM catalyst in fuel cells can be replaced by earth-abundant transition-metalbased catalysts,that is,an Fe-N-C catalyst,which is considered one of the most promising alternatives.However,the performance of the Fe-N-C catalyst is hindered by the low catalytic activity and poor stability,which is caused by insufficient active sites and the lack of optimization of the triple-phase interface for mass transportation.Herein,a novel Fe–N–C catalyst consisting of mono-dispersed hierarchically mesoporous carbon sphere cores and single Fe atom-dispersed functional shells are presented.The synergistic effect between highly dispersed Fe-active sites and well-organized porous structures yields the combination of high ORR activity and high mass transfer performance.The half-wave potential of the catalyst in 0.1M H_(2)SO_(4) is 0.82 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode,and the peak power density is 812 mW·cm^(−2) in H_(2)–O_(2) fuel cells.Furthermore,it shows superior methanol tolerance,which is almost immune to methanol poisoning and generates up to 162 mW·cm^(−2) power density in direct methanol fuel cells.Chengyong Shu Qiang Tan Chengwei Deng Wei Du Zhuofan Gan Yan Liu Chao Fan Hui Jin Wei Tang Xiao-dong Yang Xiaohua Yang Yuping Wu 2022Carbon Energy2022,4,1:2

8Injectable composite hydrogel based on carbon particles for photothermal therapy of bone tumor and bone regeneration显示文摘Surgical resection,as the most efficient treatment for bone tumor,still faces a dilemma between the complete removal of tumor tissue and the maximum reservation of healthy bone tissue.In response to this,an injectable composite hydrogel with chitosan/hyaluronic acid/β-sodium glycerophosphate as the matrix and carbon particles as the photothermal agent is developed.Owing to the temperature sensitivity,the composite hydrogel can be injected into the irregular bone defect and exhibit the sol-gel phase transition upon body temperature,facilitating the conformal therapy.The composite hydrogel can ablate the human osteosarcoma on Balb/c nude mice model with the tumor inhibition rate of 98.4%after near-infrared laser irradiation(808 nm).The assessment of bone regeneration on calvarial-defect model of Sprague-Dawley rats reveals that the composite hydrogel can promote new bone formation with the bone volume/total volume ratio of 76.2%after 8 weeks,in sharp contrast to the control group of 23.9%.)Chengxiong Wei Xin Jin Chengwei Wu Wei Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,23:1

10The chemical environment and structural ordering in liquid Mg-Y-Zn system:An ab-initio molecular dynamics investigation of melt for the formation mechanism of LPSO structure显示文摘In an effort to clarify the formation mechanism of LPSO structure in Mg-Y-Zn alloy,the chemical environment and structural ordering in liquid Mg-rich Mg-Y-Zn system are investigated with the aid of ab-initio molecular dynamics simulation.In liquid Mg-rich Mg-Y alloys,the strong Mg-Y interaction is determined,which promotes the formation of fivefold symmetric local structure.For Mg-Zn alloys,the weak Mg-Zn interaction results in the fivefold symmetry weakening in the liquid structure.Due to the coexistence of Y and Zn,the strong attractive interaction is introduced in liquid Mg-Y-Zn ternary alloy,and contributes to the clustering of Mg,Y,Zn launched from Zn.What is more,the distribution of local structures becomes closer to that in pure Mg compared with that in binary Mg-Y and Mg-Zn alloys.These results should relate to the origins of the Y/Zn segregation zone and close-packed stacking mode in LPSO structure,which provides a new insight into the formation mechanism of LPSO structure at atomic level.Tangpeng Ma Jin Wang Kaiming Cheng Chengwei Zhan Jixue Zhou Jingyu Qin Guochen Zhao Xinfang Zhang 2024Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2024,12,2:0

12An experimental study of a single-piston free piston linear generator显示文摘Free piston linear generator(FPLG)is a promising range extender for the electrical vehicle with unparallel advantages,such as compact structure,higher system efficiency,and reduced maintenance cost.However,due to the lack of the mechanic crankshaft,the related piston motion control is a challenge for the FPLG which causes problems such as misfire and crash and limits its widespread commercialization.Aimed at resolving the problems as misfire,a single-piston FPLG prototype has been designed and manufactured at Shanghai Jiao Tong University(SJTU).In this paper,the development process and experimental validation of the related control strategies were detailed.From the experimental studies,significant misfires were observed at first,while the FPLG operated in natural-aspiration conditions.The root cause of this misfire was then identified as the poor scavenging process,and a compressed air source was leveraged to enhance the related scavenging pressure.Afterward,optimal control parameters,in terms of scavenging pressure,air-fuel equivalence ratio,and ignition position,were then calibrated in this charged-scavenging condition.Eventually,the FPLG prototype has achieved a continuous stable operation of over 1000 cycles with an ignition rate of 100%and a cycle-to-cycle variation of less than 0.8%,produced an indicated power of 2.8 kW with an indicated thermal efficiency of 26%and an electrical power of 2.5 kW with an overall efficiency of 23.2%.Jin XIAO Yingdong CHENG Jinlong WANG Chengwei ZHU Zhen HUANG 2022Frontiers in Energy2022,16,6:0
13Discovery of a potent and highly selective inhibitor of SIRT6 against pancreatic cancer metastasis in vivo显示文摘Pancreatic cancer,one of the most aggressive malignancies,has no effective treatment due to the lack of targets and drugs related to tumour metastasis.SIRT6 can promote the migration of pancreatic cancer and could be a potential target for antimetastasis of pancreatic cancer.However,highly selective and potency SIRT6 inhibitor that can be used in vivo is yet to be discovered.Here,we developed a noveSIRT6 allosteric inhibitor,compound 11e,with maximal inhibitory potency and an IC_(50) value of 0.98±0.13μmol/L.Moreover,compound 11e exhibited significant selectivity against other histone deacetylases(HADC1-11 and SIRT1-3)at concentrations up to 100μmol/L.The allosteric site and the molecular mechanism of inhibition were extensively elucidated by cocrystal complex structure and dynamic structural analyses.Importantly,we confirmed the antimetastatic function of such inhibitors in four pancreatic cancer cell lines as well as in two mouse models of pancreatic cancer liver metastasis.To our knowledge,this is the first study to reveal the in vivo effects of SIRT6 inhibitors on liver metastatic pancreatic cancer.It not only provides a promising lead compound for subsequent inhibitor developmentargeting SIRT6 but also provides a potential approach to address the challenge of metastasis in pancreatic cancer.Xinyuan Xu Qian Zhang Xufeng Wang Jing Jin Chengwei Wu Li Feng Xiuyan Yang Mingzhu Zhao Yingyi Chen Shaoyong Lu Zhen Zheng Xiaobing Lan Yi Wang Yan Zheng Xuefeng Lu Qiufen Zhang Jian Zhang 2024Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2024,14,3:0
14Synergistic combination of Pd nanosheets and porous Bi(OH)_(3) boosts activity and durability for ethanol oxidation reaction显示文摘Highly active and durable Pd-based electrocatalysts for ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)play a crucial role in the commercialization of direct ethanol fuel cells(DEFCs).However,the poisonous intermediates(especially adsorbed CO species(COad))formed during the EOR process can easily adsorb and block the active sites on Pd electrodes,which in turn limits the catalytic efficiency.Hence,we present a series of Pd-based composites with a strong coupling interface consisting of Pd nanosheets and amorphous Bi(OH)_(3)species.The incorporation of Bi(OH)3 can induce an electron-rich state adjacent to the Pd sites and effectively separate the Pd ensemble,leading to excellent CO tolerance.The optimal Pd-Bi(OH)_(3)NSs catalyst manifests a mass activity of 2.2 A·mgPd^(-1),which is 5.7 and 2.0 times higher than that of Pd NSs and commercial Pd/C catalyst,respectively.Further CO-stripping experiments and CO-DRIFTS tests confirm the excellent CO tolerance on Pd-Bi(OH)3 NSs electrode,leading to the enhanced EOR durability.Mingyu Chu Jialu Huang Jin Gong Yi Qu Guoling Chen Hu Yang Xuchun Wang Qixuan Zhong Chengwei Deng Muhan Cao Jinxing Chen Xiaolei Yuan Qiao Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:0
15An Insight into Machine Learning Algorithms to Map the Occurrence of the Soil Mattic Horizon in the Northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Soil diagnostic horizons, which each have a set of quantified properties, play a key role in soil classification. However, they are difficult to predict, and few attempts have been made to map their spatial occurrence. We evaluated and compared four machine learning algorithms, namely, the classification and regression tree(CART), random forest(RF), boosted regression trees(BRT), and support vector machine(SVM), to map the occurrence of the soil mattic horizon in the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau using readily available ancillary data. The mechanisms of resampling and ensemble techniques significantly improved prediction accuracies(measured based on area under the receiver operator characteristic curve score(AUC)) and produced more stable results for the BRT(AUC of 0.921 ± 0.012, mean ± standard deviation) and RF(0.908 ± 0.013) algorithms compared to the CART algorithm(0.784 ± 0.012), which is the most commonly used machine learning method. Although the SVM algorithm yielded a comparable AUC value(0.906 ± 0.006) to the RF and BRT algorithms, it is sensitive to parameter settings, which are extremely time-consuming.Therefore, we consider it inadequate for occurrence-distribution modeling. Considering the obvious advantages of high prediction accuracy, robustness to parameter settings, the ability to estimate uncertainty in prediction, and easy interpretation of predictor variables, BRT seems to be the most desirable method.
