| 2 | Femtosecond laser-mediated anchoring of polymer layers on the surface of a biodegradable metal显示文摘Mg has received much attention as a next-generation implantable material owing to its biocompatibility,bone-like mechanical properties,and biodegradability in physiological environments.The application of various polymer coatings has been conducted in the past to reduce the rapid formation of hydrogen gas and the local change in pH during the initial phase of the chemical reaction with the body fluids.Here,we propose femtosecond(fs)laser-mediated Mg surface patterning for significant enhancement of the binding strength of the coating material,which eventually reduces the corrosion rate.Analyses of the structural,physical,crystallographic,and chemical properties of the Mg surface have been conducted in order to understand the mechanism by which the surface adhesion increases between Mg and the polymer coating layer.Depending on the fs laser conditions,the surface structure becomes rough owing to the presence of several microscaled pits and grooves of nanoporous MgO,resulting in a tightly bonded poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)layer.The corrosion rate of the PLGA-coated,fs laser-treated Mg is considerably slow compared with the non-treated Mg;the treated Mg is also more biocompatible compared with the non-treated Mg.The fs laser-based surface modification technique offers a simple and quick method for introducing a rough coating on Mg;further,it does not require any chemical treatment,thereby overcoming a potential obstacle for its clinical use. | Jaeho Park Bo-In Park Young Ju Son Sun Hee Lee Seung-Hoon Um Yu-Chan Kim Myoung-Ryul Ok Jeong-Yun Sun Hyung-Seop Han Hojeong Jeon | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,4: | 2 |

| 16 | Fermented Lysate of Lactiplantibacillus Isolated From Green Tea Leaves Protects Keratinocytes Against Stress Hormone and Staphylococcus Aureus显示文摘Psychological stress can impair epidermal barrier function by inhibiting the proliferation and differentiation of keratinocytes.In this study,the effect of stress hormone on skin microorganisms was confirmed through an in vitro experiment.Cortisol,a typical stress hormone,inhibited the growth of skin microbes,especially Staphylococcus epidermidis,which is a commensal skin microbe.And cortisol enhanced the adhesion of the pathogenic bacterium Staphylococcus aureus to keratinocytes.The fermented lysate of Lactiplantibacillus isolated from green tea leaves(LFL)affected the growth of skin microbes in the opposite manner to cortisol,and increased the expression of a keratinocyte differentiation marker that was suppressed by cortisol and S.aureus.Moreover,LFL inhibited the adhesion of S.aureus to keratinocytes.The modulating effect of LFL on the growth and adhesion of skin microbes was unaffected by the presence of cortisol.LFL also alleviated cell damage in reconstructed human epidermis caused by S.aureus.These results suggest that LFL may be useful as a cosmetic ingredient capable of controlling skin microbiome balance and protecting skin health against psychological stress. | Kilsun Myoung Eun-Jeong Choi Hanbyul Kim Hung Su Baek Hyoung-June Kim Won-Seok Park Hyunhee Kim Jaeho Yeon | 2021 | China Detergent & Cosmetics2021,6,3: | 0 |

| 18 | Regulation of c-SMAC formation and AKT-mTOR signaling by the TSG101-IFT20 axis in CD4^(+)T cells显示文摘CD4^(+)T cells play major roles in the adaptive immune system,which requires antigen recognition,costimulation,and cytokines for its elaborate orchestration.Recent studies have provided new insight into the importance of the supramolecular activation cluster(SMAC),which comprises concentric circles and is involved in the amplification of CD4^(+)T cell activation.However,the underlying mechanism of SMAC formation remains poorly understood.Here,we performed single-cell RNA sequencing of CD4^(+)T cells left unstimulated and stimulated with anti-CD3 and anti-CD28 antibodies to identify novel proteins involved in their regulation.We found that intraflagellar transport 20(IFT20),previously known as cilia-forming protein,was upregulated in antibody-stimulated CD4^(+)T cells compared to unstimulated CD4^(+)T cells.We also found that IFT20 interacted with tumor susceptibility gene 101(TSG101),a protein that endocytoses ubiquitinated T-cell receptors.The interaction between IFT20 and TSG101 promoted SMAC formation,which led to amplification of AKT-mTOR signaling.However,IFT20-deficient CD4^(+)T cells showed SMAC malformation,resulting in reduced CD4^(+)T cell proliferation,aerobic glycolysis,and cellular respiration.Finally,mice with T-cell-specific IFT20 deficiency exhibited reduced allergen-induced airway inflammation.Thus,our data suggest that the IFT20-TSG101 axis regulates AKT-mTOR signaling via SMAC formation. | Jiung Jeong In Kang Yumin Kim Keun Bon Ku Jang Hyun Park Hyun-Jin Kim Chae Won Kim Jeongwoo La Hi Eun Jung Hyeon Cheol Kim Young Joon Choi Jaeho Kim Joon Kim Heung Kyu Lee | 2023 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,5: | 0 |
| 19 | Improved Hybrid Beamforming for mmWave Multi-User Massive MIMO显示文摘Massive multiple input multiple output(MIMO)has become essential for the increase of capacity as the millimeter-wave(mmWave)communication is considered.Also,hybrid beamforming systems have been studied since full-digital beamforming is impractical due to high cost and power consumption of the radio frequency(RF)chains.This paper proposes a hybrid beamforming scheme to improve the spectral efciency for multi-user MIMO(MU-MIMO)systems.In a frequency selective fading environment,hybrid beamforming schemes suffer from performance degradation since the analog precoder performs the same precoding for all subcarriers.To mitigate performance degradation,this paper uses the average channel covariance matrix for all subcarriers and considers an iterative algorithm to design analog precoder using approximation techniques.The analog precoder is iteratively updated for each column until it converges.The proposed scheme can reduce errors in the approximating process of the overall spectral efciency.This scheme can be applied to fully-connected and partially-connected structures.The simulation results show that spectral efciency performance for the proposed scheme is better than the conventional schemes.The proposed scheme can achieve similar performance with full-digital beamforming by using a sufciently large number of RF chains.Also,this paper shows that the proposed scheme outperforms other schemes in the frequency selective fading environment.This performance improvement can be achieved in both structures. | Ji-Sung Jung Won-Seok Lee Yeong-Rong Lee Jaeho Kim Hyoung-Kyu Song | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,6: | 0 |
| 20 | Efficient thermal management and all-season energy harvesting using adaptive radiative cooling and a thermoelectric power generator显示文摘Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC) is useful for thermal management because it allows an object to emit terrestrial heat into space without the use of additional energy.To produce sub-ambient temperatures under direct sunlight,PDRC materials are designed to reduce their absorption of solar energy and to enhance their long-wavelength infrared(LWIR) emissivity.In recent years,many photonic structures and polymer composites have been studied to improve the cooling system of buildings.However,in cold weather(i.e. during winter in cold climates),buildings need to be kept warm rather than cooled due to heat loss.To overcome this limitation,temperature-responsive radiative cooling is a promising alternative.In the present study,adaptive radiative cooling(ARC) film fabricated from a polydimethylsiloxane/hollow SiO_(2) microsphere/thermochromic pigment composite was investigated.We found that the ARC film absorbed solar radiation under cold conditions while exhibiting radiative cooling at ambient temperatures above 40℃.Thus,in outdoor experiments,the ARC film achieved sub-ambient temperatures and had a theoretical cooling power of 63.2 W/m~2 in hot weather.We also demonstrated that radiative cooling with an energy harvesting system could be used to improve the energy management of buildings,with the thermoelectric module continuously generating output power using the ARC film.Therefore,we believe that our proposed ARC film can be employed for efficient thermal management of buildings and all-season energy harvesting in the near future. | Chanil Park Woohwa Lee Choyeon Park Sungmin Park Jaeho Lee Yong Seok Kim Youngjae Yoo | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,9: | 0 |
